So you thought one of the sidekick 4g's design flaws was that you couldn't see the primary buttons (home, jump, menu, and back) in the dark, well think again. If u hold your sidekick under a light for about a minute, the four keys will glow, this is so sick and i think its another thing that gives the sidekick one of the most unique phone designs.

I still think that this is a bad thing because you have to charge the buttons with a significant amount of light, and if you had enough light to do that it would defeat the need of buttons that light up. Although I must say my friends still were pretty jealous that their buttons didn't look as cool.

I went in for a red one, even called in advance to have it held for me. Got there and they only had black and plum. The CSR said that I could trade it in for a red one when they came in. But I think I will stick with black I like it.

Same here but then i asked to see a red dummy phone and i think its the better choice anyhow
I got white, but I didn't have a choice. I ordered Monday night on T-Mobile.com and was not given a choice. Later on in the week, my order showed it was a white one, but I am ok with that.
Went with black.
Black... wanted one that would look business-like

Have you compared it to other G2X phones? Mine is pure white, your screen may have an issue. Also, does it on all roms/kernels? If I remember correctly color can be tuned at the kernel level. Not something the typical user could do, but a possible cause/solution.

Thanks for the response. I tried different kernels. I was never unhappy with it until I put it next to my Vibrant. Now its bothering the heck out of me and I want to fix it. It may be what is, but its worth a shot asking.

I just compared the screen on my G2X to my brother in law's SGSII and he about cried when he saw mine. People sure do like blacks on the galaxy screens but they sure as **** don't have clean whites. I'm on the weapon ROM but I don't think I've ever noticed yellow on any other ROM unless I crank the brightness down all the way.

My Vibrant had good whites as long as you kept the brightness turned up. They do tend to shift color to a brownish tone as you take the brightness down low, though.
So I cheated over there weekend and got the droid razr..... And I hated it so I'm back to the charge, going to check out the nexus next week tho, just not to happy bout only having 16 gb..... For now I'm sticking with my charge

What exactly didn't you like about the razr? I was looking at picking up one but the biggest drawback with motorola phones is the locked bootloader so no custom kernels.

ya that was one thing but the ui is way too complicated, to many options. I hoped it would be like the og did but it wasnt. I also got dead pixels out of the box. And it gets really hot. Battery worse then charge. I'm sure the hardware is great but Motorola killed it.

I was reading threads about people complaining about black splotches on the screen when looking at a black image in the dark (why would you do that anyway?) Apparently its an issue with AMOLED screens as they all say. Other than that and the high temps everyone seems to like the phone. I'm having Verizon swap me to a new phone so I'm trying to get an idea if the Razr or Rezound is better.

they both suck. we were cheated and never got the SGSII. The greatest phone to date.
Motorola has some great ideas but when it cones ti amoled screens Samsung takes the lead hands down. I like the options I get with my photon but I too have dark spots on my screen. Not a big deal to me, you get used to them, but out of the box come kn Motorola get it together.

I could live with the black spots. It's not like I would be staring at a black picture under the blankets constantly Lol. The lack of removable battery worries me when it comes to flashing roms though.

Hi there guys.i just bought p3100 from uae .it's the 16 gb 3g gsm version.i was happy with the tab up until now.i noticed when the brightNess is set to max and i am in really dark room, when watching a black screen in a movie there is certain noticeable backlight bleed from the 4 corners of the tab.however they arnt noticeable when the brightness is toned down or when the environment has enuff light.so i guess hopefully it won't hamper my day to day use.but i expected my 350 usd tab to be perfect so kinda feel sad.i Googled and saw that certain amnt of backlight bleed is normal in almost all ips lcds.so i wanted to kno if any lf u guys had backlight bleed in maxd brightness too,or m i the only unlucky one.would greatly appreciate a quick reply.o and fyi i can't return the tab.cause i live in Bangladesh.and the tab was bought from uae by a frnd during a one tym trip.

I own a p3110 and it does not have the backlight bleed that u mention but maybe thats because its just a week old i dunno
To look for it u have max thr bright.go into a dark room.and bring up sumthing black in the didplay and then look at the corners and see if there is any extra light seeping out.did u check lyk dat.cause otherwise under normal circumstances its pteety unnoticable.

+1 for Black here. Brown looks like poo.
The red is by far the best. My girlfriend just got it yesterday on at&t and I am jealous of it. Even the hard keys at the bottom light up red.
My personal preference of course.

I honestly think the Pebble Blue GS3 is one of the most beautiful phones I've ever seen. The shade sort of changes as the lighting changes and it shines very vibrantly in the light. That said, Brown sounds very sexy.
I have a white one, but messed with the pebble blue one at Costco today. I do really like the blue. It has a lot of the same features as the dark umber style on HP computers. The brown will be cool.

I think the brown color is a little risky as it's usually not associated with cutting edge technology, but more with antiquated furniture and the 1970s tech.
They're available now. VZW just emailed me about it. Does anyone know if it's an even SLIGHTLY new model? Other than the color I mean.
