Sony smart watch - HTC One S

just purchased one of the new sony smart watches and have now paired with my HTC One S and i can confirm it all works if anybody is interested in getting one.

How is it bro ? I read some bad reviews on it lol
Sent from my HTC VLE_U using xda app-developers app

I have one and it is pretty terrible seems very unresponsive at times then other times it is and then it will disconnect randomly at times had it about 2 weeks thinking about getting rid of it already.

The only reason I bought mine was I have difficulty hearing and I miss loads of calls but I haven't since getting this and its worked flawlessly but mine is the second version.

U guys may have to do a firmware update on your watches

I'm on the latest software it just has terrible touch response does scroll right and keeps losing bluetooth had the problem on my old Xperia Play with bluetooth 3.0 thought One s would improve it as it has 4.0 but nope still same problems.

Shoulda waited for the pebble, that's what I'm doing http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/597507018/pebble-e-paper-watch-for-iphone-and-android

September if you backed them on kick starter, early 2013 for everyone else. I'm actually a fan of the black and white screen. It's more readable in direct sunlight, unlike a color LCD. To me, it still has to be a watch, which means being able to read and use it easily. I wouldn't want a full color screen because I don't intend for it to replace my phone, but rather to supplement it and add convenience to certain aspects, such as taking a quick glance to see who's calling or checking a text without taking my phone out. Oh yeah, and it takes WAY less battery than a color screen. There's a bunch of other cool features. Can't wait for it!! By the way, if you are looking for a color screen, the same company already has a previous model that you may be interested in..albeit not as versatile as the new model.. http://getinpulse.com

That's my main beef with the iPhone...who wants their phone to look the exact same 5 years from now?? I just find it boring as hell. And WAY too thick.
You know what's funny about Apple though, they fight tooth and nail to get Android off the shelves and say their software is the key point of their pitch but they neglect to mention all of Googles' features they use on a regular basis for one when you search for anything on an apple device it uses Google, can't blame them there right.
Now their saying their new 3d maps are going to beat Googles Maps but G Maps has been in beta for a few years now, they know what works and what doesn't but if Apple wants to give it a go then it should be interesting.
I'll stick with this device, there will always be something wrong somewhere with anything some one has, nothing is perfect otherwise there wouldn't be competitors.

Strange, I still wish that my One S could match my old iPhone call quality and network reception and I wish I woukd not have to use a second phone to use Skype...
I'm away right now and I have to use Skype to make all my calls, I can tell you that sometime I just get enough annoyed that I just change my SIM card...

That's the way it's headed anyway...Google is about to blow the provider model out of the water with their next gen Nexus devices (which should even put your mighty gen1 Nexus to shame), working directly with more manufacturers and selling directly to consumers. And I can't wait...I think they'll be doing all us Android users a big favor, longterm.
Apple really good in steal ideal and make it better than the original one. if you look at notification bar on iphone, it's really nice and i think it does better job than our android notification. I also like their notification badge/alert/ pop up for message/mail/FB... Still i can get popup app from play store but i want some thing that come from the operating system itself... I takes android phone because it's open, not because it better than iphone.
Yeap...open source FTW!!

Good for you man, don't pay attentionto all the negativity over here people are getting buyers remorse because the sgs3 is coming out. It's a great device, I can't wait to see everyone that switches over complain over there.
My buyers remorse just came in the form of the GS2 my wife got yesterday for free... I was hating on it when it first came out, but now that I've used it, and it's been updated to ICS, I think I could be very happy with it. But then I'm addicted to the One S's camera, which, aside from the color over-saturation issue, is awesome and much better than the GS2's. Now I just have to wait for the GS3 to arrive and for ebay to be overrun with GS2's so I can snatch one up for cheap.

I plan on getting one myself depending on what comes with it but this is going to be my primary device. The other will be for development but I have a few devices now totaling 8 so I'll chalk it up to the collection.
I only buy phones as they come out.trade the old ones out. But not just any phone.only high end phones.once the note 2 comes out. Then I'll have it again.

No problem here and had you not read about it you wouldn't have noticed it yourself, it only happens when web pages first load and after that its gone.
My suggestion to you is to get rid if it and get the SGS3 and find that it will be slightly better but still there, people don't realize that the better the screen the more your processor has to work to correct it taking away from processing a little inorder to have 1 second of pixelation instead of 3.

HTC One S with NFC ?

Check this Video out !
What do you think ?
Looks pretty real to me, didn't know it had disabled nfc
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
highly doubt it's real since if it's there, HTC should've advertise it so they will get more praise for it.
What about the Samsung s2? That has NFC but not in the software.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
Probably not. NFC can't get through the metal back cover. Since it can't, I doubt HTC put any NFC chips in the device.

That's why the top and bottom covers are plastic. NFC could get out, just like wifi and cell does.
Why would they put NFC in the device and not advertise it ? They know what they put into the phone as much as id like it to be real it must be fake
Sent from my HTC One S using xda premium
Be nice if this is true. Not too bothered about it now though as NFC isn't really a big feature here in the UK (yet.....) and can't see it being that popular/"the norm" for at least another year.
It has happened in other phones as well i.e. my last android phone, the Samsung galaxy spica i5700, it had a FM radio chip and also multi-touch, both weren't enabled with stock samsung software and weren't advertised at all or listed in the specs. either, thankfully, one great developer got the multi-touch working superbly.

Have the tear downs not showed a NFC chip ?
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
I have build an NFC Chip into my Computer to test the possibilities of NFC with my One X. So I thought, could it be that the One S also has an NFC Chip but disabled it so that the One X has an benefit against his little brother. Than I tried to port the NFC Drivers from the One X to the S and it works very well, but you can't disable it and there is no Android Beam yet. I try to cook an NFC enabled, RUU based Rom with working Android Beam. Download Link: Is coming soon!

Yup David111jr did have this up a few days ago....but the title of his thread didnt help to entice people to read :silly: When i showed this to a few other people, it was mentioned that it might be the cleaver use of Chrome to Phone. It would be awesome if it turned out to be true, but since people like to play nice tricks like this, we will have to wait and see. As for Leedroid, looking through his thread it looks like he might be busy with home things (after all awesome devs have home lives too ) . Hopefully a dev can either debunk or reproduce it. I will keep my fingers crossed for sure!!
Chrome to phone for sure. I call shenannigans.

All teardowns I have seen thus far, eg. the directfix one, really just show how to replace the display so guess we have to wait till I slam a door on mine or something...

Replacement screen has pink hue

We had to get the screen on my wife's T-Mobile One S. A nearby T-Mobile store recommended a repair place called ubreakifix.com that had a location in the area. They had to order the screen, no biggie, and it was an oem HTC complete with logo. Once installed though the colors all had a pink hue to them.
After trying to convince us the color was right and then opening it again and checking then connections, he decided to order another screen. Has anyone seen a faulty screen like this or could this be under lieing damage from the cause of the broken screen?

So the second screen was good? That's a relief to know. I guess I won't be getting to upgrade to a Nexus 4 then, hehe.
Lol Yea the second one was good so you should be good ...I kinda miss some of the feature on the one S so don't be too disappointed Lol all these smart phones nowadays do everything and sense actually adds a Lil class to it just my opinion though not saying I hate the nexus either

I completely agree. There's nothing really that stock android offers that other ui's don't provide now. Plus, well... Not so much with sense but definitely touchwiz now has definitely added a lot of useful features, depending on your needs of course. But I mean looking at the Optimus g, and the multi app view of the note ii. There are finally becoming reasons to have a ui overlay. Now I will say I've seen nothing that beats the beauty of sense widgets...

I've been thinking of asking for a Nexus 10 and have been seriously weighing my other options due to it's stock nature and only running the "phablet" ui.

Ha! I wish! With Verizon's record, we probably won't see the update until the next ice age! It does look like a lot of good things are in there though- improved camera drivers and a built in file manager would be great. Oh, and the FM radio and stock internet browser that Verizon removed would be good too. ?

This part is not credible. They installed an LED with orange and green; period. It reminds me of an April Fool's joke many MANY years back when Palm announced a "software color mode" and those not knowing better thought that suddenly their monochrome Palm Pilot's would have color capabilities. The LED colors can't be changed with software. So, I'm a little suspicious of the entire piece because of that one detail.
Besides, if I haven't heard it from @evleaks, I don't believe it's real.
LED
I think the different LED flash notifications would be awesome! I used to have this on my Moto Defy and I love it. I am going to try this ROM out tongiht.
