Have a replacement phone coming in, will AT&T charge me for my current damage? Pics
I have a replacement due here tomorrow and I dropped my phone today. Will AT&T charge me ($504 i think) because of this body damage?
Hope not

Nah, I think you'll be alright. The most expensive parts are the glass/digitizer. Insurance claims are 200 bucks, but they'll probably just chalk this up to normal wear and tear, replace the case, and be done with it.

i'm not sure about att..
but htc they might...
they may just deny your warranty, because there are physical damage on the phone.
they denied mine, because i have a small crack on the case...

Is it a warranty claim or an insurance claim?

Then you'll be fine. I've exchanged probably a dozen or so devices over the years and have never had anything but a smile and a new device from ATT.
HTC America is a very different story lol

I just called in for a replacement and it should be here in 2 days. Do there refurbished replacements look like new and was it on the latest OTA or 1.85?

Relock bootloader and TmoUS Asurion insurance.

Hey just want to know if anyone has insurance with Asurion and if they accept device swap/replacement with a relock TmoUS One S. I'm considering rooting my One S but I want to double check first.

Deductible is the same for loss or other issue, right? If it is, it doesn't matter. Issue with phone, throw it away, or use it for parts, and report it lost.

I just sent my defected phone back to T-Mobile. You can still see "relock" on bootloader. Hopefully they don't call me about it or I might just play it off. Lol. Usually they check for is water and physical damaged.

Weird. Thats the newest hardware with the oldest firmware. Either way it doesn't matter as there is a root for everything right now. Good thing you got the latest hardware though.
I'd like to go ahead and confirm my experience here too.
The first four characters of my serial number are "HT24". It's not as recent as the OP's, but I'd like to think it's relatively new.
At any rate, I received a warranty replacement with 1.73.
Moreover, it came with SuperCID 111111 and the "re-locked" identifier. This doesn't particularly perturb me as it saved me a few seconds when unlocking. Yeah, I ended up with someone's leftovers with some newer parts.
Battery life on the replacement is around 5.5 hours of screentime with 30% brightness and LTE enabled. I think refurb is preferable since it's cosmetically pristine and every part has been tested more stringently than a factory original.
It's odd that they aren't being re locked and cid reset. Is refurbishment done by AT&T or the manufacturer typically?

Typically, refurbishments are done by the manufacturer. AT&T just serves as an intermediate in the process that makes sure you have a phone as quick as possible. Once they receive our broken phones, they have the pleasure of doing what we did not want to do - deal with HTC.
If you had to deal with the manufacturer directly, you would be looking at two to three weeks for a replacement device.

HTC refurbs them and AT&T is the distributor for warranty exchanges. You're lucky though... AT&T usually doesn't take devices that were tampered with.

HTC seems to be very understanding. Unless it's bricked or something directly related to unlocking the bootloader I doubt they care. And legally they can't. It's like taking your car in for warranty repair on the engine and they void the warranty because you installed better brake pads.

Samsung has the same issues, my gf and her mother have sent back their phones multiple times because they just didn't work right.
Btw dude stop trolling these HTC forums and praising Samsung, it gets annoying
We are a small portion of the smart phone population and I believe those who don't educate themselves on these phones as we do are more prone to sending back phones due to idiotic issues

I've owned many htc smartphones and not only (tilt, tilt2, one, captivate, atrix, iphone 4, vivid, hox) and I've yet to return not even one unit (and believe me some were really abused by my kids). How in the world someone retuns 5 or more units, you gotta be retarded if after 2 replacements you still go back to the same model/brand or whatever, however if you still do it, then you must really love that device and therefore no need to complain about it.

Amazon sent me new HOX with 1.85

I lost my one x I bought from the att store, and I neglected to purchase insurance. So I bought a new one from amazon 2 days ago. It arrived today with 1.85 installed. Havnt even put my att SIM in yet, cuz i'm afraid of an autoupdate.
I'll try rooting/unlocking/ROMing when I get home. Hope my misfortune ended up being a blessing in disguise.

Lucky. I bought a REFURBISHED and "UNLOCKED" HTC One X from a seller on Amazon.
It came in a AT&T box, with AT&T bloatware, and 2.20.
I think I'll return it. It isn't even unlocked...
EDIT: The screen also flickers every 30 seconds.
Cool

True, sorry about that.
Seemed like you were boasting. Figured Amazon who probably not be as apt to update the units they have sitting around. I got my replacement from a company that deals with AT&T. So I was expecting it to come with 2.20.
i picked up a 2nd one x today from costco it has 1.85.
Got my One X last thursday from Sams Club with 1.85
Add best buy mobile to the list because i got mine with 1.85 from my online order
I received a $49 refurb from AT&T wednesday with 1.85. Needless to say its rooted, unlocked and sporting Venom now.
Costco sent me one with 1.73 about a month ago
