Anyone giving up their Inspire for the Infuse?

As most of you know that the Sammy Infuse will be out on the 15th. Who is giving up their Inspire for the Infuse????

I dont "pay" for Samsung products. Junk.

My opinion is sense>touchwiz by a long shot. I don't think the Infuse does enough for me as far as specs go to warrant a change.

how would one go about switching phones, i've read in other threads that people have switch phones from one to another. what are at&ts rules on this? are they paying full price?

I'm sorry, I really want to like Samsung phones again but I can't. My blood pressure can only take but so much. The HTC stays.

Why would you do that to yourself?
HTC is light years ahead of Samsung when it comes to cell phones.. I've kept my inspire STOCK as its ten times better than a hacked Samsung.

If within the 30days of original purchase, then you can do a swap out (buyers remorse period). After 30 days you need to go through the Warranty department - It is very difficult to get a swap for a different Make/model phone - especially when a phone first comes out - They usually don't have the "full kit" available for make/model swap outs..
Your other choices are to pay off contract values, or early upgrade (if they let you).

Same here. I don't think that the Captivate was a bad phone really but no way I am ever going to deal with Samsung again.

X3. Never again with Samsung phones. Advertised features were never implemented (gps), I had multiple hardware issues with multiple handsets, glacial pace of official updates that leave much to be desired upon arrival...no thanks. The only thing it has going for it is Dev support.

The captivate was enough to make me wince at the infuse, but a gs2 would be mighty nice. The sensation looks sensational, but don't know if it will include ATT's 3g bands.

This has been known for a while .
I don't see this being a problem for very long especially on htc, considering that phones like the holiday will more then likely have international "brothers/sisters", that means there will be dev support worldwide working to break open a phones boot loader. I would assume the only reason it hasn't been done to the atrix, is because honestly the phone is a flop. Blur put a bad taste in everyones mouth and not alot of people want to mess with moto.
If you hit up other htc phone boards here on xda there are literally hundreds of developers working on htc phones. I have said it before where there is a will there is a way.

Locked bootloaders do much harm to the phones' sales. I like the sense rom but the default stock one comes with a lot of bloat and poor battery performance. I flashed the dilligaf's V2 rom and my phone now flies. When the manufacturers cannot unleash the full potential of the phone, why the hell do they have to lock their bootloaders for?

HAHAHA! That's funny sh*t.
Anyways... If the manufacturers and Phone companies would actually leave the phones open, we wouldn't have this issue.
It wouldn't be too hard for them to do...build a recovery image right into the phone. If something screws up, they is a keypress sequence that would force install factory firmware. Bam...No more brick, and start over. I know I have reference the PSP in several other posts, but they did it right. Maybe the phone manufacturers should take a hint.
There is a PSP dev that goes by Dark_Alex... He created the "Despertar del Cementerio." This translates to "Wake the Dead." This was a service battery and memory stick combo that would literally UNBRICK your PSP. I actually have one, and have purposely killed the power during a firmware update to test it. And it works! Anyways, the point is...this is VERY possible with these phones, no one has done it yet tho.

Haha, I LOLed at work when I read this.
ATT seems to have something to do with this. If I hadn't been able to root my inspire I'd probably have returned it. Too much bloat. Bloated on a phone like that males it even worse (also I never liked MOTO)

Well if its not rootable and cannot access recovery,then I don't bother. I was walking thru fryys when I saw the inspire and knew I had to get it. Trading my sgs vibrant+$150 for a new inspire sounded great to me. But I didn't think if the bootloader was unlocked or not. Luckily,it was. I got Lucky on this one

S4 Black One S?

i wanna buy a tmobile htc one s because i hear all of them have a s4 but on ebay it gives me an option for a black htc one s from tmobile but tmobile hasnt released it so im awesome its just an it doesnt have an s4 any help or clarifications ?

I have an inquiry to present to the board. I wish to proceed in the purchase of a T-Mobile Black One S but have arrived to unsettling gossip on this merry board. When T-Mobile does pre-take in the--albeit dated--release of this HTC machinery, will it feature the more technologically stunning processor or a inadequate alternative?

I think he is speaking of T-Mobile US. Which means we will not know until the phone is released but if I were to venture a guess I'd assume--for the better--that T-Mobile will release the phone with the S4 processor to continue combatting their rival ATT and its One X.

Dont, the nexus is actually an inferior phone to the one x in a lot of ways. Firstly the camera. And secondly its using a last gen snapdragon processor. Wayy more heat and lesser performance. And dont expect the nexus to even come close to the hox in battery life (owned both phones)
the only thing the nexus has on the hox is jellybean, but that isnt worth all the cons.
Total ripoff trade for you imo.

I can sum it up for you in one sentence.
The Samsung Galaxy S 3 is not locked down, and the HTC One X is.

I know two people who switched and didn't have one that was locked down. One is a developer and one did some theming.

many of the people at my work place own one.. and none of them even know whats xda.. so is being unlocked still the key to that success?

I have an S3 on my account, I got it for a buddy of mine. I've spent a good deal of time playing with it and can't see the appeal at all. It just isn't anywhere near as nice as the HOX. 2GB of RAM, that's it. Everything else about it sucks compared to the HOX. My 1GB is working just fine for me.

Bingo u hit the nail on the head. People complain about the lack of removable battery. Ummmmmmm maybe 10% of pple would actually carry a spare. IPhone doesn't remove battery and I'm sure we're all aware of how well that does. And as far as storage goes, yea it wouldn't hurt to atleast have 32gb. But I havent filled 16. So consider me happy.

I have my HOX, that's all I want and need for a phone for the next year.
S3 is a little too fancy imo, I'm allowed that after checking it out and seeing it first hand,meh.

H8rift. XsMagical. Scott. And others are more then enough reasons for me to never leave this phone. And Rohan has done amazing things with AOKP and he is still in highschool if I'm not mistaken. These guys make our phone what it is and we have to work around ATT and HTC security features. The Devs we have are a reason not to leave.

Then you should ask them. And couple people isn't everyone.
The main reason is: most users if they don't buy the iPhone they'll go for sammy because of the brand. You don't know much about a smartphone but you at least know they make good tv's, computers, refrigerators, you name it. Where else do you see the HTC logo? Many people didn't hear about it. So, obviously pick the Samsung instead.

What is the big deal about which smartphone you use? I would bet that most people on XDA are pretty well clued up about phone tech and so, money permitting, they will make an informed purchase, buying the phone that suits them best.
I own the SGS3 and yeah, I think it is top notch handset, but that doesn't mean I diss other handsets. I like to think I'm more evolved than that (though some of my pals would dispute that :laugh. If someone comes to me for smartphone buying advice, I will try my best to give an informed opinion based on my experience and their tech knowledge and needs...and quite often I'd send them down the iPhone route, not because I think it is a better phone (though Apple, whether you like it or not, make fantastic hardware, just a shame about the company ethos), but because it is probably the best phone for them.
Most on this particular thread will probably own an HTC...again good top noth handsets, but I personally avoid them due to a very bad customer service experience a couple of years ago (threads can be found elsewhere), but that doesn't stop me recommending them to others (though I do also relate my experiences). And many others on XDA will own a whole variety of other smartphones.
The point is, does it matter which phone you own? Yes, some people will spend a fortune on a top end handset just for bragging rights, but there's nothing worse than a 'phone snob'. Most of us on XDA buy what is best for us and are generally happy and if we're not, we switch.
You pays your (hard earned) cash and makes your (well informed) choice. Enjoy what you have, worry not what other think about it and be proud that you are part of XDA and have the knowledge to tinker with and give advice about your techie toys. Just don't get caught up in a 'mine's better than yours' debate.
