It's not a Rom bro, its a kernel, your Rom will still be stock, and yes Kies will still detect it, but be aware that your warranty will be void once you root your phone (comes included with the kernel) but you can always revert back to the stock rom easily.

P.S Please give the best option for an Indian/Asian device
1.Run smooth
2.Rooted
3.As close to stock as possibe witha chance to get to the 100% official rom as given by Samsung.
4.Rooted device should be detected by Kies.
Thanks A lot guys and sorry for being a pain in the ass.

Its simple,
Download the kernel 'PDA_BCK_CF-root_universal_beta10.tar' as posted in the link hellismine89 posted.
Download Odin (google it, should be easy enough to find)
Get your phone into 'Download' mode. for that, switch your phone off, and turn it on again while holding the middle button and volume down key.
Open odin, and under PDA select the kernel file you had downloaded earlier. Make sure that 'PHONE EFS CLEAR' is UNchecked! Do not check it! *VERY IMP* or you will lose your IMEI.
Just click on 'start' THAT IS ALL!

What you have posted is CF-ROOT which basically 'Roots' your phone and gives some tweaks and recovery etc, Bam's kernel is the ONLY one with the sync bug fixed and also comes with CF root... So Just flash Bam's kernel & you will be happy.

Yes my friend, all looks good, You can use either one, only difference is one comes packaged with cf root the other is without, go with the above one as you don't have to go rooting all over again.
Regarding overclock, your phone will have the capability to be overclocked, but you can choose whether you want it to be or not, just install 'no frills cpu control' from the market and select your clock speed to 1000 (stock).
Generally there is no need for a backup but, it never hurts! If you get stuck on the boot screen after flashing, don't panic, just get into recovery mode (vol up+home button+power button) and clear cache and davlik cache.

Hey mzone1510 what kernel are you using? I want to use the above one with the built-in CF root but the guy who has posted it says its not recommended.. and its not tested and stuff like that.I cant afford to brick this phone at ANY cost, hope that tells you why im asking 1 million questions. Thanks for being so patient.I'm currently on the latest DDKP3.Also if I do not download the no frills app will the phone be overclocked by default after I update the Kernel ?

I am on DDKP3 & using Bam's kernel beta 10 with cf root. Don't worry about the version with cf root, it works fine,no problems at all, and your phone will not get bricked that easily, just remember the efs thing though! Regarding overclocking I think bam has mentioned that it boots at 1000 (stock) by default but runs at 1200 for 5 secs or so. SO its not really a big deal, but its good to have no frills just to be sure.

Thanks for pointing me to the right direction.
I'll be doing a little research before root/rom tonight!
Super excited and can't wait to see what's the potential I'll be unlocking from my tablet.
Was wondering if anyone can help me out.
I've downloaded the unlock from Asus's
Threw it on the SDcard, ran the unlock
I believe it's unlocked, because it says at the top right that device is not locked
I tried this -
Hold Power + Vol Down until a message appears (it doesn't appear anymore on Jelly Bean bootloader) ("Press Vol. Up to enter RCK (5s)") : DON'T PRESS VOL UP
After 5 seconds, a new menu appears (if it's not already there). Press Vol Down once to change to the USB icon, then press Vol. Up to validate (you have to do this in less than 10 seconds, otherwise your tablet will boot Android OS)
But I don't see the option to press/select the USB Icon
I am using the Jelly Bean 4.2
Any tips or pointers

Yeah I've been looking around and what not, been tossed up on CyanogenMod and the Cromi-X , but I think the features from the Comi-X suites me more.
I'll keep you posted after I test it out, going to do a Nandroid Backup now and install the rom
Curious
I'm just going through the setup/installation process for Cromi-X
Do we have to reflash the ROM to go through the setup, OR can we select some of those options again after the installation?
Such as DSP Manager, X-Loud, and some of the other minor tweaks
Doesn't seem tooo tedious to backup and restore, but I wouldn't want to reflash all the time just to adjust some settings....
Or it's just part of the deal of ROM's.......
All in all, Cromi-X has been installed and I am stoked.
Benchmark Results Request
So I got Comi-X installed
Does anyone have any benchmark results that I can compare to?
Using AnTuTu Benchmark atm and I'm hitting about mid 14000's.
Not sure if that's what this tablet can output to.

if you want to change any settings mate just reflash the rom and choose to wipe the dalvic cache while going through the settings there is no need to do a full wipe for that and benchmarks aren't everything mate but most people use quadrant, and goddly has gotten over 7000 on that which is crazy high, he got it using thats overclock kernel that was built for the tf700, but hunds kernel can be overclocked and that is built for the tf300 but im using thats v4 kernel which cant be overclocked but i dont think it needs to be and the battery life on thats kernel is crazy good and my tablet is well over a year old

in the second post of the cromi thread there is a kernel and tweaks installer but here is the link to it any way because im really nice lol

if you use thats kernel for the tf300 then try the undervolt option to give you even better battry life but if you use hunds and want to overclock it then its best to try the overvolt option to increase stability

You can install the custom recovery... which is available in XDA just search..
I will test the both pro and version and update you the result..
I tried out the free version on Omni (infected) 4.4.2 with Gustavo kernel (zzmove + row) on my I9100.
It becomes fast but I think the window animations become a bit too fast, it looks almost unnatural.
It fast but not very smooth since that "jitter" is always there.
Still, it's just a few hours.
Will test more for battery life and other things.

Compatablility for Stock roms
I am unsure about the compatability for my HTC One - stock 4.3
In the OP and on Play there is no montion that the phone must be rooted etc.
Play states its compatable, I downloaded and installed the APK and it tells me to hold POwer and Volume Up and then go to ANdroid Recovery to Select Update.zip
I do not get the Android recovery, there must be another way. I do not have a custom recovery and bootloader is lock, as I said my phone is stock.
Is this safe to do? Does this work for HTC mobiles?

Hi, You must do boot loader. Once you done bootloader, You can go to Recovery mode.
For active Bootloader you can find the steps in HTC Site....
Enjoy Tweak..!!!

hi,
I downloaded your tweak..
I m on stock rom,Samsung galaxy s4,if you know,Samsung introduced a new Knox bootloader which records if anything alien happens to phone, like custom recovery it flashing or other things
so I just wanted to know if its safe to flash it via android stock recovery or not?
True
I use S4 and Note3, I using the tweaks in both phones.. really enjoying the experience..
Its your wish to use or not.. Once you flash your image to stock image all the data will be erased.. its one impossible concept to record the flashing stuff and others... you always got a option to delete the history..

Nexus 5 seriously underclocked by accident permanently, help

Hi guys.
I am on CM13, I download a CWM apk and accidentally pressed fix permission. Now no matter how I clean install a rom or format and using a kernel I am still unable to run to at normal speed.
I tried using Root browser, Currently Min is 300000 and max is 1190400.
I have tried using different apks to change governor and speed, but it still doesn't work.
please help me.
Pics are below. A few topics below.

If clean flashing the rom and flashing a new kernel doesn't work, you could flash the factory images again. It's a last resort but guaranteed to fix anything and everything bar hardware stuff.
I tried the hammerhead restore to stock rom. It didn't work. Are there others i do not know of?

I'm not exactly sure what you meant by "hammerhead restore to stock rom" but what I meant was flashing the images from here > https://developers.google.com/android/images

Thank you so much for the link. I tried TWRP file system fix. I hope it works.
mpdesicion manages max clock for you, you are just checking max clock when all 4 cores are running

I cannot move above 1190mhz and also I cannot change the governor.
Kindly see the attached pic. I tried stopping the mpdecision also and same result.
I hope Someone could help me out. Thank you.

I have no idea what the file system fix does to be honest. Did you flash all partitions again?

Yes i have. I done all formats.
Try sliding the Thermal slider all the way to the right side. It worked for me, because i believe there is some kind of heat detector sort of thing and after triggering it lowers the cpu freq till the phone cools down
