I get whats app messages only after unlocking my phone. If there has been no whatsapp messages for a long time and my phone was locked and some 1 sends me a message I recieve it only after unlocking my phone. This happens only on GPRS.On WiFi I dont face this problem.Does GPRS time out after sometime? If yes,Is there a way to stop it from timing out.I DO NOT use any battery saver apps that cut the GPRS Packet data when the phone is locked.

It's not a Rom bro, its a kernel, your Rom will still be stock, and yes Kies will still detect it, but be aware that your warranty will be void once you root your phone (comes included with the kernel) but you can always revert back to the stock rom easily.

Its simple,
Download the kernel 'PDA_BCK_CF-root_universal_beta10.tar' as posted in the link hellismine89 posted.
Download Odin (google it, should be easy enough to find)
Get your phone into 'Download' mode. for that, switch your phone off, and turn it on again while holding the middle button and volume down key.
Open odin, and under PDA select the kernel file you had downloaded earlier. Make sure that 'PHONE EFS CLEAR' is UNchecked! Do not check it! *VERY IMP* or you will lose your IMEI.
Just click on 'start' THAT IS ALL!

What you have posted is CF-ROOT which basically 'Roots' your phone and gives some tweaks and recovery etc, Bam's kernel is the ONLY one with the sync bug fixed and also comes with CF root... So Just flash Bam's kernel & you will be happy.

Yes my friend, all looks good, You can use either one, only difference is one comes packaged with cf root the other is without, go with the above one as you don't have to go rooting all over again.
Regarding overclock, your phone will have the capability to be overclocked, but you can choose whether you want it to be or not, just install 'no frills cpu control' from the market and select your clock speed to 1000 (stock).
Generally there is no need for a backup but, it never hurts! If you get stuck on the boot screen after flashing, don't panic, just get into recovery mode (vol up+home button+power button) and clear cache and davlik cache.

I am on DDKP3 & using Bam's kernel beta 10 with cf root. Don't worry about the version with cf root, it works fine,no problems at all, and your phone will not get bricked that easily, just remember the efs thing though! Regarding overclocking I think bam has mentioned that it boots at 1000 (stock) by default but runs at 1200 for 5 secs or so. SO its not really a big deal, but its good to have no frills just to be sure.

It is cooked from the Google stock image for tilpia and is NOT deodexed
This is the first time i am posting a ROM on XDA.
Been cooking ROM's for a while for my old Samsung devices.
The whole reason for this thread is to have a flashable zip for any Nexus 7(2012) 3g user who wishes to stay stock.
I have tested it on my Nexus 7, if anyone has any issues do let me and please bear with me as im not a developer and just sharing what i personally use.
Will try and help with what ever i can.
************** For some Reason the boot logo does not show up, dont worry, wait for sometime, the ROM will boot up***********
Note:
1. Works with multirom.
2. Odexed for my personal use, if anyone wishes to de-odex it, do let me know.
3. This includes the stock kernel. I also tested the latest stable mkernel which is for 4.4.2 and works fine.(works with the new kitkat 4.4.4 too)
Screenshot attached
Downloads:
4.4.4:
tilapia.v2
Mirror
Radio for 4.4.4

Installation:
1. Reboot to recovery
2. Do a factory reset.
3. Go to advanced wipe settings and select system, dalvik and cache and format them.
4. Flash Rom
First boot takes time, wait patiently. There wont be any boot animation, so wait on that black screen for sometime
Profit :good:

Update your bootloader and radio first. And clean flash is recommended though there are not much of changes from 4.4.2 but as you mentioned you are using 4.4 clean wipe and installing is preferred.
thank you very much! stock rocks! :good::good:

Thanks alot
Hi!
First of all - thanks for your clean/xposed ROM.
I only have one question. Would it still be possible to send SMS from my Tilapia-tablet (Nexus 7-2012/3G) after flashing your ROM?
BTW : @RomerGG - The threads' header should already have answered your question...

Roy

Haven't tried that. Unfortunately i have a pure data plan, so my provider restricts sms by default. And i cant take out the sim and replace as i was once trying to break open my sim slot and take out the sim, during that crazy struggle i guess i broke that sim holder. so once the sim comes out, i have to struggle a lot to get the network back on by replacing it
Edit: dont think hangouts will give the sms sending option by any chance. So try with a third party app and let us know
Thanks for the stock rooted rom. FYI, I had flashed CF SuperSU v1.99r4 and also MKernel a67, looks okay so far. I'm updating the Google apps from Play store now. Once done, I'll be installing TB to restore my apps.
One word of caution to those flashing this rom. Note that there seems to be no bootanimation, so don't be mistaken that the rom is not working. Give it time to boot up. :good:
Edit:
One thing I noticed strange is in TB, System ROM is showing 670MB (8.45 MB free). Before this, I was on 4.4.2 stock rooted, before I manually flashed boot.img and system.img. It was showing same results, but 9.XX MB free. Is this correct? I vaguely remembered that it should be almost 900 plus MB. Can anyone confirm?

To flash them you need to enable USB debugging and then reboot to bootloader. Here use the following fastboot commands.
For Updating bootloader:
fastboot flash bootloader name_of_the_bootloader_file.img
For radio:
fastboot flash radio name_of_the_radio_file.img
If you want a detailed instruction, go here and follow Method 2.

It is the same file as the one google pushes for Nexus 7 device. So what ever is present in the original stock image, will be there.
Menu button is only active in apps that give it by default, there is an xposed module which can activate menu button in every app.
For ART, not sure why google misses the option to switch to ART every time on Nexus 7 devices. Will check and see how to add that option.

It is dalvik. Google does not seem to want including ART for the nexus 7. Read somewhere on google forums that it might be a hardware issue cos of which they are not including it.
flashing aborted
Version tilapia2 flashing aborted, version tilapia 1 ok. Do you know where is the problem? Using the latest version of the recovery v6.0.4.3.
Good work! I maintain BSZKitKat for grouper (ODEX and DEODEX). Awesome job getting right in front of the 4.4.4 update!

Correct - we lack sufficient space on the /system partition for the binaries required for switching to ART

I think that's a problem for the solution of the fire makes it
I order the same day repair lab
Flash a factory image. If the restarts stop then you know it's a problem with the ROM/kernel. Not all phones are identical, what may work for some doesn't always work for others. Your phone simply may not like some custom kernels, simple as that. If the ones you are flashing are undervolted by default that could be the problem, as some phones respond better to undervolting than others.

Don't use toolkits. Flash the system image with fastboot. If the problem is still there, it's your phone. If the problem disappears, it's the ROM/kernel. Again, use fastboot and not a toolkit.

There are two files inside the zip. I flashed only the first one idk if I should flash the second one. I sent him a message but he hasn't replied yet. I ran CPU throttling test and it was always green. I never ran it before. On 4pda the screenshots of before and after show that it goes red before the flash and green after. So I guess it worked but antutu score is 95k. I got 106k on 28s. There is a performance over time graph and it showed that the CPU never got under 80% I also noticed that the 2 high performance cores never got to 2.3ghz. the maximum they got was 1.8ghz. Sorry for late response. I was at work. I did get bootloop also. I didn't flash the twrp but I booted from my PC. I think it is an issue with the ROM. I installed back my modded ROM that I got from 4pda. It's EUI 6.0.30s mod that allows u to alter system partition but that doesn't mean that you can root it. I did the same thing again, that is, boot TWRP from my PC but before that make sure to save the zip file in a card reader that has USB-C .
Then reboot bootloader.
Fastboot boot recoveryname.img .
Unplug your phone from PC then plug in your card reader as you won't be able to read from the phone's memory since it's encrypted.
Go to Mount and select USB OTG
Go to install and navigate to usbotg and flash the file.
Note: u need to extract the 2zips inside the zip. U will get zip 1 and zip 2. Idk but I think zip1 removes the throttling and zip 2 restores it. I flashed only the first one and ran CPU throttling test and it was always green.
If u need the modded EUI6 tell me. Thanks

Please do not flash it.
Just boot from it. That is,
"Fastboot boot twrp.img"

i mean yeah! i'm just going to boot into twrp. but what about after flashing the thermal? how am i going to boot into default recovery. because the last time i boot into recovery and boot into system directly in twrp, i got bootlooped. so how am i going to boot into system without problem?

Actually I got bootlooped also but it happened only with the newer twrp. I stopped using it and I use the older one 3.03 i think. Also I stopped using the official EUI6 ROM. I use this one https://drive.google.com/file/d/1h0VsqO-V9jsxf1Pyv3muR1qoKuvSHunu/view.
It allows u to modify system partition but that doesn't mean that you can root it.
Install this one because you won't have any problem starting the device after installing the patch.
Now I have to tell u all something. On Google play store where I downloaded the CPU throttle app, I saw a review of someone saying that you need to delete a file to stop the throttling. I was using the modded ROM v1 with the patch but now that there is a newer one(v3) I installed it yesterday and I tried to do what that person said on Google play and guess what it worked. I deleted a file I think called thermal.conf. Before that I ran the test and performance was very bad that it even dropped under 40%. It became red like the screenshot at 4pda and even stopped responding but after deleting the file the performance was much better and it stayed green and never dropped under 80%. I haven't played any game right now so IDK if it really makes a difference.
I think you should just delete the file to make things simpler. It's located at system/etc/.tp
Because there is actually two files inside the zip and IDK which one to flash but I think the first zip was it.
Guys I need your help again. There is a boot.img at 4pda that can help us boot with root rights temporarily, that is, until we reboot the phone. This file also is unavailable so could anyone please help us get that file https://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=895159&st=580#entry73892896. Thanks
I just ran AnTuTu and the performance was deceiving to me. I got only 92k. CPU:40k GPU:19k UX:26.9k MEM:5.7k. I don't like it at all because I got 106k on 28s without the patch or anything but when I entered the app it said high performance mode entered. I did not see it this time. On 28s I got 50k for CPU and 30k for UX and 6k+ for MEM
I played PUBG on low power without any overheat. I did so by accessing engineer mode. I think the 2 high performance cores are useless since they are not optimized. PPM: Low power GPU: Performance. The phone surely got warm but it did not heat like crazy and also not too much battery drain was observed.
Hello guys I am not a dev or anything, just found these drivers in the other forum threads and thought i'd put them here for us GT neo 2 users, it increases your perf up to 20% since we have drivers from way back in 2020 .....
package includes openGL and VUlkan, must be installed with magisk and preferably also have the magisk overlayFS module before installing. make a copy of your system before trying.
[email protected][email protected] is the one with both openGL and vulkan, the one I used which seems to be the most compatible and stable, i think the other one is the same but contains some modules.
I also used konabess to slightly overclock and undervolt the GPU since its locked but it uses more power than the compute output gives so it runs cooler at maximum boost.
the driver i found earlier was from a poco f3 thread which i cant find now, but i found the same driver here.
any problems or troubleshootings i cant help you with! also join the telegram group Adreno GPUS & KonaBess Support Group for all the latest snapdragon drivers, highly experimental !
here is the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...h-gpu-overclock.4381017/page-10#post-86693965
edit: link was fixed
NOTE: our adreno 870 chipset is most probably LOCKED so you cant go beyond 680 mhz. I tried it myself and i got bootloop only, the POCO F3 konabess config I am using now.
Cheers!
new note:
Looks like the 611 driver breaks compatability with 3dmark, but antutu still works here is a new run.
still recommend running 604 opengl and 530 vulkan drivers
What things do i exactly need to do?
Do I just need to flash the magisk overflays and then flash the driver or i need to flash both the systemwr and overflays and then the driver?

yes simply flash overlays and then driver. However, earlier I only flashed the driver in magisk and it seemed to work too, maybe overlays is for newer drivers

Okay,I'll try it later.
Thanks for replying!
So i tried to flash the TWRP flashable drivers, and i came to the conclusion that at the moment systemWR flash is broken so we have only the overlays method until anyone updates it.
3dmark and antutus runs fine again but no more increased vulkan perf, but slightly increased openGL perf from previous driver. Looks like this will be the newest stable driver we can use
Can i know what program do you use to overclock the gpu?

I used this app https://github.com/libxzr/KonaBess?msclkid=e74196a0cd5411ec8108205d1cb4fdad
make a recovery backup first. then use TWRP to flash the recovery part if it bootloops
and i am using this config :

I used the config driectly and my phone poped out boot or recovery is broken,it almost freaked me out but i backuped the boot so it's fine now.
Is there any settings or something i need to do before flashing the overclock image?

Oh damn that's why we backup luckily it only takes a min to restore the boot. Hmm maybe i linked the wrong one, i was on my PC, but i exported the settings I'm using right now. I'm pretty sure it should work

Hmm... it still has the same problem, maybe i did something wrong or there are some settings i need to do in twrp.
I think i'll just use the app I am using right now which called smartpack kernel manager to only set freq to 670mhz without undervolting.
I think 680mhz maybe wont effect much ,so i just keep it that way cuz if my phone bricked, my mom will kill me xD
So my final result is 3dmark wild life from original driver 4130 score to sm8250_v614_overlayfs_v2 4450~4560score,and that's very much for me!
Thanks for the tutorial and if there are more updates, I'll keep following ,keep up the good work!
