[Solved] [Q] How to flash tiamat v1.1.5 onto a HTCdev unlocked Desire S - HTC Desire S

Hello everybody!
My name is James and i am from Singapore, first time posting here on the forums. I have done my due searching for solutions to my query but alas need some direct answers from my sempais over here at XDA.
I have rooted my DS by following this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497604 and got my enlightenment from the splendid mini-guide posted by user "foX2delta"
Now I am on CyanogenMod RC 7.2 and lovin' every moment spent with it. But i have an urging to flash the tiamat kernel over to see if I can get anymore battery life and performance out of the setup. But the problem is this: I have unlocked via HTCdev and rooted via SU. I do not know where to find the Boot.img required for me to flash tiamat onto my DS. Please advise!
Many Thanks,
James.
Edit: Installed Reaper kernel v.1.3 with boot.img included in the zip folder. Thanks rd74!

Don't use Tiamat 1.1.5 kernel with CM7.2 - it's outdated and no longer supported. It won't work as you expect. Try Reaper kernel v.1.3 from this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1322000
You can flash it through CWM or Ext4 Recovery.

What do you mean by "it's outdated and no longer supported"? Nevertheless, I want to have a try. How did you flash this kernel on previous CM ROM? I can't find the boot.img file as well. Please at least tell me something about that.

I posted the instructions to get the boot.img from Tiamat kernel some time ago. Please look it up, most likely in Q&A.

Recovery has to be flashed first.
then flash the tiamat kernel without wiping.
then enjoy your OverClock Kernel. Smoothy & Faster.

Follow the instructions on the link I posted previously to make sure you get GB flashed correctly - correct bootloaders / no ext 4 issues etc...
Then check the Dev section for the latest roms - Valhala 1.1 is nice....
I don't use Wifi a whole lot so I can't really comment on that.

Just read OP instructions for whatever ROM you are about to flash...very carefully until you completely understand the process. If you have any questions, read through the entire associated thread as they have probably already been asked and answered.
Just read, read, read. All of the information you need is available on these boards. I've bootlooped and soft bricked my phone several times, and each time it was because I hadn't followed the OP instructions to a "T".
If you have done everything above and still have a question it is likely that it is a good question, and there are a ton of really nice helpful people that will jump in and help you out.
EDIT: GB battery life is awesome.....
yeah and your helping me out is great looked around found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1215748 seems too be easy too get on GB with no mess up
Just so the ops not alone, I flashed the deodexed and rooted kd1 then the bali 3.3uv kernal. When I try and flash adrenaline shot 7 i get stuck at the boot logo, any ideas here?
If any1 can help you get out of the loop, that would be great but if you can't you can try the following.
1. If you can get into CWM you can try to do a factory reset or reinstall the rom.
2. If you can not get into CWM you can try to use odin and flash a new rom.
the thread can be closed now thanks for all the help htaak

Did you try to manually push the files in through File explorer? Also, I think dsexton made the adrenaline shot on gingerbread roms, so it may not be 100% compatible on a froyo build. You might want to try some older versions of it if they are available.

I don't know if the new kernels work on old bootloader, I can't test it because it is my only phone. You can post the sbf file here and I will try to make it.
are these from my post on mfunz?
if it is, the zip froyo kernel is not complete. i only put boot.img into the zip without devtree, which means you can only flash between froyo kernels.
if you flash these zips from gb kernel, you won't be able to boot. please flash some fixed.sbf and you can boot again.

Different Defy have different hardware and if you flash a appropriate kernel, it improve battery health, but i don't know it can improve performances or something. If you are running stock froyo and kernel, I suggest u don't touch it.

[Q] Help required installing CM9/10 on my Samsung Galaxy S 4G

Hi,
I was trying to install the CM9/10 for my device and I found a link on how to install here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/Samsung_Galaxy_S/SGH-T959V/Installing_CyanogenMod_9
I am following the steps, but i am stuck at a place where i have to install CWM 5.0.2.x or higher. I checked their website http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager and found version 3.2.0.0. Could you guys please let me know where to find 5.0.2.8?? or suggest an alternative. I am sorry if there was a post similar to this, as i have done extensive search before posting this thread. Thanks in advance, waiting for a reply.
As stated on the wiki page you linked to, you need a kernel with CWM Recovery preinstalled (don't use ROM Manager!)
This page shows you how to flash a kernel onto the device to give you the proper recovery.
Keep reading the wiki, there's lots of good stuff in there to teach you how this device works as far as flashing goes
Thank you!! I was able to install the Kernel and the CM9 ROM....

Look for bhundven's Blast Off kernel or AntonX's Basic with a Twist in the Development section to then flash CM9 from.

[Q] Help with boot.img

I've spent hours trying to work this out myself, with help from posts on this site, but failed.
I've got an old htc desire c which I've unlocked and rooted. The problem I have is that when I download a zipped custom rom I can't find the 'boot, img' anywhere in the folders. I've dowmloaded, and looked for it in, several different roms.
What am I doing wrong.
I've got a basic grasp of the process, I've also unlooked, rooted and, successfully, flashed a rom to a Wildfire.
Thanks

if the boot.img(kernel) is not included in the zip then you should search for the compatible kernel..
be specific, which rom are u trying to install?
and can you give me the thread? may be it has something there telling about some kernel..
or
just search for the kernel according to the jellybean rom or ics rom or gingerbread rom..
try flashing different kernels until you get the most compatible one.

Noobing.....how install jbx kernel

Hey guys although I am not new to xda developers , I have certain doubt's regarding installing jbx kernel , I read the post by d trail and its little above the levels for an amateur . so p.s. help me in giving a guidance to install the kernel. I am using pacman 4.3 in sys1 and mokee 4.4.2 on sys3, he battery drain is too much in mokee gets down by 10% every hour so I want to try the kernel for power optimization....
Ahh... installing JBX kernel, this is an awesome procedure, thanks to AROMA installer, trust me, haha
Commonly we just use BMM to install the JBX.zip like installing a ROM.zip
But there're some exceptions.. for example: we can not flash JBX on non-kexec ROMs because of ICS kernel...
I think guide allready have on the jbx kernel thread

i think you have already installed BMM.
then take mokee 4.4.2 for example,
1. download the latest version of dtrail's kernal, or Shurikkb's (because it is verified that his kernal have better battery life, you can find in dtrail's post)
2. flash it like a ROM, (boot to BMM recovery, switch to system3, then install package from ..., no wipe, no clean)
3. then enjoy, for details, please read in the post

Issues with JBX 3.0
Hello,
I have another question regarding JBX. I am running the latest version of Gummy (M.1-02-19-14), which comes with JBX kernel already integrated. I have read good things about the latest version of JBX (02/27/14 build) and have been trying to install it over the old kernel. The times I manage to load the rom with the new kernel, I have no signal and the phone appears to be unable to recognize my sim card. I have tried unchecking the exposed framework and 10% battery fix in the installer without avail. Any help with installing this latest version of JBX would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, I'm relatively new here, I have many doubts about the JBX kernel. I do not understand the Aroma installer. Is there any option to dial in specific?
I have experienced some problems. Some sensors stopped working.
