So i had to replace my touchscreen and LCD (both cracked) and now my phone is horribly slow. The responsiveness is feels like its cut in half and apps take forever to load. what could of happened? im thinking about wiping it and reinstalling my ROM to see if that helps but thats a last resort.
Are you sure you installed the touch screen correctly? Also there was an update to the touch screen and radios. You could install those and see if that helps any

what is this touch screen update you speak of? unless that update is installed somewhere in the circuits of the actual screen then my phone should be running the same touchscreen software as before.
Im fairly sure the screen is installed correctly but ill prob take it apart tonight and reassemble it just in case. though i would imagine an incorrectly installed screen would just mean the touches would be off, but I don't think that would cause the phone overall to run so damn slow. who knows though
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1479533 that's the link to the firmware. I know it help a lot of people with the responsive of the screen. Its worth a shot.
It could very well be the rom but you never know. You could always make a back up and try a fresh install of another rom and see if the problem is still there
thanks for the link. but yea i don't know why the ROM would be the issue since i have been using it for months now...but maybe when i was digging around something got corrupted, i dunno just figured it couldn't hurt to try.
Run a backup, Wipe data, factory reset, reflash rom, rebuild cache, dalvik, fix permissions.
If that doesn't help open the phone back up and reseat everything.
well i reflashed my ROM and the phone is running so much better now, but the touch screen is all whacky now. so i guess ill have to open her back up again anyways but at least one of the issues is solved. thanks for the help guys
Whenever you open the device up, make sure your wearing Gloves. Latex Rubber is what I use when working on phones. Also make sure your area is clean. A little bit of Static Electricity can cause a lot of issues.
I had a similar problem. Replaced touchscreen only. Responsiveness was crap afterwards. Heck, my broken screen was better, mind the occasional gorilla-splinter and cuss. I tried radio/touch upgrade again, unrooted/rerooted, everything. Nothing worked. I ended up doing the TEP which is what I should have done in the first place, but I tried to save a few $. Ended up spending more in the longrun.
I didn't use rubber gloves and suspect I fried something internal, or got some finger grease on a circuit. Live and learn. If you don't have the equipment protection, I don't know bro. Good luck.

Hello I have an AT&T Fuze (Raph100) that I have been reflashing roms successfully for a few weeks now. Yesterday night I had some problems with the touch screen being none responsive. This morning I removed the top half portion of the screen protector and then it started responding again. After doing that I reflashed it again and tried to get my android eclair 2.1c version but I was having another problem I had encountered before (I know how to resolve this issue so you don't have to worry about that). I also wanted to try a different rom so I loaded the new energy rom onto the SDcard (energy's latest stable build 21901.Sense2.1.Apr.25.7z) and I loaded it through the boot loader which I had never done before, I always run the wrapper file through USB sync. It went through successfully, but I am wondering if this is what caused my touch screen to become unresponsive. I also hard booted right after the reflash on the Calibration screen as I read somewhere. I did that twice, I don't know if that could cause a problem. My phone is not bricked though, as I have reflashed it multiple times since then with the TPC v3.1 version, the NRG latest build again, as well as MichyPrima's winmo lite boot loader for android eclair v 2.1c version. I plan to purchase a broken fuze to replace the screen if that is the problem in question, but is this even it? Is it possible to "brick" just the touch screen drivers, even though I am capable of reflashing? Do I need to reflash the HARD SPL? Any feedback or advice would be extremely appreciated''
Edit: LCD screen is slightly bleeding on middle left of the screen
I would say it was just a bad digitizer. All screens have to fail at some point in their lives, yours just happened to fail while you were flashing several roms. Just a coincidence.
Okay so it turns out i found some other threads talking about liquid under the screen, and their method to fix it was to use duct tape on the screen and pull it up. This not only alleviated the liquid issue underneath (still a little wet but not the blob) but it also fixed my touchscreen issue. I have had to use this trick a few times due to screen becoming non responsive but hey its better than throwing it away. I looked up a guide on replacing the digitizer and lcd screen and it really doesn't look like its worth it. Ugh wish they had planned the assembly to be more user friendly. I appreciate the help though thanks.
Touch screen repair
I wish I had known about the duct tape trick. I wonder if it would have worked for me.
I recently had the same issue you described - a non-responsive touch screen. I had it professionally repaired for (eeek!) $125!
Well don't feel bad, I eventually got tired of doing that since it kept requiring me to do the trick constantly, and the tape would lose its sticking power so I had to carry around duct tape. So lame. So now I have to get it fixed, but luckily I found a place that will do it for $75 YAY.
Duct tape
I used to have encountered the same issue..
The duct tape worked for me..
But be careful if any of you who encounter the same, will try..

First of all Hello and thank you for having a great forum. I have learned a lot from the posts that I have read. Ok, like I said my touch screen lost its touch. It started acting up last week and got to the point where it would not accept touch input. I tried a hard reset, but I still have the same problem.
I am beginning wonder if any of you sages and guru's may have come across something like this in the past. I tried flashing the device but it is difficult since I can not touch the screen to ok the program load.
So, do I have a hardware or software problem? Also, are there ways to select a soft key other than touch? Thanks for reading and if you got any ideas let me know.

I would say its a hardware failure, especially since you flashed your phone and your screen still wont register any touch. But I would wait for a second opinion before I take it in to be serviced.
Thanks, but I was not able to flash only reset it using the alternative method described on Verizon's website. I am trying to flash the phone with a new ROM, but the phone prompts me to click 'yes' or 'no' on the screen to install new software. Of course, that is a no go. I tried to flash from the security unlocked screen but the flash program will not run. I am almost out of options.
You woudn't be using a case on the phone by any chance, would you? I have noticed some cases extend onto the screen too far, causing it to be touched, and then it wont recognize any other screen touches.
I went through the same thing a year ago, and I found some posts from people with the same problem.
It is caused by gunk getting in groove around screen.
take a business card or similar thickness paper and drag through groove around screen.
If that does`nt work get a piece of duct tape and apply to screen and gently pull off at steep angle.
It will lift screen back up and unstick it.
Oh my God... only now I understand what could happened to my Raphael:-O
I've just write this post... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=771602
My replacement Sensation just arrived (after dust under the screen, random freezes, and constant screenshots), and I finished loading up all my old apps and emails and such. I want to make sure that none of these problems crop up again so I have done the following. If anyone can provide additional advice that would be great.
1) The replacement came with 2.3.3. I am going to leave it 'as is' until a new update is released that fixes all the problems introduced in 2.3.4.
2) I put a thin strip of clear tape along both edges of the phone to prevent dust from getting in the cracks and under the screen. I then used an exacto blade and trimmed off the excess so that the back cover fits perfectly over the tape ribbon. I then used a hairdryer in an attempt to heat the tape up so that it acts like shrinkwrap against the edge of the phone (no idea if this will help, but I wanted to try!)
3) I made sure to only reload the apps I thought were necessary, not just those that "I thought were cool" and downloaded and used once. This should give me more available memory and hopefully keep this phone working properly.
My plan is to keep it like this for about a month. If after that time everything is working well (and no dust!) I will consider rooting it. My concern with rooting it before then is I wont be able to return it if all these issue crop up again.
Thoughts? Comments? I am open to any other suggestions. Thanks!

CM7 wont help with the dust issue, and if I have gone S-OFF and need to return the phone that is problematic. Again, assuming the dust issue doesnt come back I plan on flashing a new ROM but I want to make sure this phone isnt faulty first.
takes 2 mins to restore and put the orginal ruu or a nandroid backup back on the phone run the fastboot oem write security flag 3 command to get s-on..... bobs ya uncle.. Mines back with HTC for the third time.. one melt down. powerbutton issue that they didnt fix so its back again... I have putting it back to stock down to a T..
FYI all my hard work had no impact at all. I just noticed dust under the screen in the same place as my old unit. This will be the second Sensation I send back to HTC.....
Ok..
I had this phone for a while and I started using it again recently. I have fully replaced the digitizer/lcd bezel before with no problems (been a phone repair tech for 10 years) And it has worked fine.
The other night I reverted it back to stock because it seems to be the only way to get a constant data signal. Worked fine. I then updated it to the newest OTA update without a problem.
I then rebooted it and it stuck on a black screen loop with the buttons going on and off for hours. I spent 7 hours trying to figure out what was wrong, flashing, re flashing.. Nothing. Finally I get CWM recovery installed and find out my SD card is fried. So I put a new one in, and transfer over the roms I want t flash. 3 different roms, all with no touch screen.
Revert back to stock, still no touch screen.
Could something have gone bad on the board to have caused this? Is there something system wise not getting wiped that may cause this? Its to much of a coincidence that the touch screen and buttons would go out after all this happened.
Any help would be appreciated. Im waiting on a new digitizer now to check because Ive already gone over all the connections. But if its something software wise, Id like to try that before doing another digitizer replacement.
Thanks
funny you made this thread. i just got my hands on a soft bricked g2x that was stuck on the blue lg logo. after a quick nvflash it boots right up......but with no touchscreen. not sure if it ever worked as im not the original owner.
but i'll be keeping my eyes out on this thread for sure!
Id give a pretty to see inside both of your phones. Sounds like a bad contact on the ribbons.or one of them may have been ripped during a screen installation. I've never heard of the screen just up and quoting working without some major stuff happening to the phone. My guess is these screens were replaced with the wrong screen.just a guess though.

I have done phone repairs for quite a few years, It wasnt a wrong screen and has worked fine for a year since its replacement. I have already opened the phone again and made sure all contacts were fine. What Im trying to figure out is if there is maybe some part of the system/boot that holds the touchscreen drivers and they have bee erased?
Again, I find its a huge coincidence that it worked fine up until this happened then as soon as its booting again, stops working... Which is why I think its a software issue.
Try touching the corners of the screen after booting up start with the top left and go clockwise. One of the roms used to mess up the connectivity between phone and screen. And that is supposed to reset the touch screen. A old g1 trick

Hello guys,**
Well few days ago I accidentally dropped my Nexus 5 in a glass of water for just 1 sec. So I immediately switched it off and wait a bit to let dry then restarted it, and all seemed to work fine. But just some days later and up to now the phone boots up all fine as usual to the lock screen, and from there I can pull down the notification bar (and navigate through it, activate/deactivate wifi, etc..) but when I unlock it to get to the home screen it becomes all back and nothing appears on the screen even though the phone is still on.*
It's really confusing and weird. When I call the phone it rings (so no signal or sound problem) but I can't still access the screen to take the call as it's all back and unresponsive.
Following some suggestions I disassembled the phone and cleaned it dry but same results again! So now I think the problem is somehow related to the motherboard, coz as you might notice on some of the pictures attached, it seems that some plastic parts have melt down to cover other smaller parts. Anyway guys,*I'm just wondering if some of you guys had experienced something like that and if you were luckier*to find a solution or any directives that could help. Or you even think that's a motherboard problem like, do you know any ways to fix that o buy a new one somewhere??
PLEASE!!
Sorry apparently, I can't publish links until I get like 10 posts or plus..
But anyway guys, I'd really appreciate your help.
Why did you power it on and short circuit it on purpose for??
Bump
@SekouCheikh
Maybe it's a coincidence that you dropped it in water and this happened a few days later. Once in a blue moon mine does something similar to this (although not usually as start up only after lots of use), but I think it's related to an app or xposed. I only notice it after installing a bunch of crap again. Maybe try a factory reset (do it though the computer) just to see if it is somehow not hardware related? That's what I would try first.
Help please
Ttt
Wait... Are you seriously posting from 2 different accounts??
<...>
First, simply try to factory reset or flash a new rom. There is not enough evidence to be sure it's a hardware problem, it could just as well be a coincidence that it started happening just now.
