This is shaping up to be a real iPhone contender for what looks like might be solid, quality, construction out of metal.

If it wasn't android I'd buy one to go alongside my lumias.
The more I think about it, that Prada 3.0 would be perfect for the Espier Launcher. Too bad this phone won't be out here for a while yet...if ever.
I just don't get the point in low-grade software on a high end device. It worked for the HD2 I guess.

The LG Prada was the first phone with a capacitive touch display despite what ifans might say. I believe the original iPhone screens were bought from LG. Yes, LG is a brand of purse, but in this case it's more a notion of quality. LG was garbage in the mobile industry, as the LG incite or some stupid name like that it'd have been completely ignored. With the prada name they had a shot.

Well they obviously can't put iOS on it. And if they have any intention of selling any, they certainly wouldn't consider WP7 unless it makes some huge gains in marketshare any time soon. Android is popular, easy and on able devices, runs smooth and without issue. LG made the right choice. No question.

It's extremely simple: You're not the ruler of the world, so you thinking Android is "low-grade software" does not make it so.
They don't build a bugatti and put a four cylinder in it. Android is the choppiest, slowest, and most broken of any of the major cellphone OSes.

Hoping it'll change the color UI depending on the Time and season ( something like Sony S500i ) cause it'll be kinda ugly if it's always black

Ok so I keep reading posts that android is so slow, so can anyone give any evidence for this being true other than personal bias for against an os as I have only used windows (pre wp7) symbian and android and my android phones have always been good.
For example what makes android slow if it is?

Not sure if this is what you mean but, the slowness regarding Android is often related to its lagginess. And the easiet example of this is the dialer in Android. Tapping the number buttons will immediately show how Android can be laggy. In iOS and Windows (WP6.5 & WP7), tapping the number buttons brings an instantaneous response. In Android there is always a lag between the tap and response. Some Androids are better than others but there is always a certain amount of lag.

Or you could just swipe between homescreens, through a lengthy text, or many other things. It's also the least user friendly aside from perhaps blackberry and has the most bugs. It's also the only OS where you can get viruses from the marketplace.
I get instant number on screen when pressing in dialer and swiping through screens is smooth, if there was way to attach video I would show what I mean.
Only lag I experience is when it frees ram to run a large app like a game as then there is I admit often a noteable delay.
But yes viruses I have heard of on the market, they were malware apps quickly removed but android market itself is not great. Just haven't had any issues on my lg with scrolling or swiping speeds etc and am using stock gingerbread with go launcher so can't confirm that and I use my phone a lot.

The only reason why the iOS is so popular, is because it's so simple.
Again though, just because it's coming out on iOS first, doesn't mean Android won't get it. Don't get discouraged, you could even send the Developer an email asking if they plan for Android OS support.
I believe that most game developers release their titles for iOS first (due to having to support only a few devices), then bring their games over to Android (where they have to support several more devices).

The iphone is the most popular single phone so a dev can get the game out to a larger group of people with less development. Games on android often require separate files for different gpus I've noticed. Some games will onlh be for tegra and not work on powervr for example. It would be nice if android had something universal for devs like directx on windows so that all gpus with enough power would work.
Sent from my DROID3 using Tapatalk
And the biggest reason of all. Android apps and games are selling very small quantities compared to their iOS counterpart, they don't get much money in return.
Sent from my GT-N7000 using Tapatalk
Not to mention the gpu on the 4s is 2x more powerful than what the current Android handset has. I'm referring to the Mali on the current Exynos devices in case anyone was wondering.

i dont play games on my phone but if the phone in some way reaches my GFs hand then its a different story and i can wave a big goodbye to my battery
As for IOS getting the latest games i think its because if they release it for iphone it will be a lot easier to implement due to having it on all iphones quickly. Androids problem is that manufacturers nowadays use different components in there phones making it take much more work to develop and application/game for all android devices

Because iOS users actually pay for apps, Android side loading makes pirating software do easy that a mentally challenged chimp could do it. There's also an issue of fragmentation and crappy SDK, which makes Android less attractive to devs.

The way wp7 is integrated I doubt you will win. I gave my daughter my old Samsung Focus and it's smooth and fast. I like both OS's for sure but I'm sure the windows booth will have the phone setup for easy access via the tiles. If you do the challenge, let us know how it goes

Pretty sure this is over, but most android phones can beat it. You just have to be ready, practice and set up your phone beforehand.
Its funny, windows mobile started it all, but when the iPhone and android iOS hit. Windows got knocked out and basically have to start out green. If only they would of stuck with windows mobile 6.5....
SkyRocket [ICS The Real Thing Rom]
yea it was over, but the terms were saying it had to be like out of the box stuff....so meaning we couldnt flash like a custom rom or something, ive only read people with Stock Galaxy Nexus could beat it....its a race from turned off to pulling up like weather...which takes the nokia phone like 15 seconds to boot up
There were several different types of tests and all were geared towards WP7's strengths.
It was an advertising campaign, so I would expect them to do well against most devices.

It was not a test of hardware, it was a test of software and integration.
Something MS did very well with regards to WP7.
And sorry, WP7 does do social integration better than Android.
I own devices running iOS, WP7 and Android and WP7 has the social part nailed down.
Sure, you can find third party solutions for Android, but that's not the point of these tests.
I was not impressed with the Lumia or its Windows operating system. I demo'd one and picked up the Skyrocket instead (I was going to preorder a Lumia a week or so ago because of the $99). The handset was heavy, the touchscreen was not as responsive and it didn't help that it died in my hands. I thought the ATT rep was really good. She pulled a Skyrocket out (her own personal phone) and said I would not be happy with Windows mobile if I was used to Android..(coming from an Atrix that made my mind up and I am happy with my decision)

I wouldn't say the challenge itself was a scam more that some store employees/managers chose to be douche bags and not follow the written rules.
Even the creator of the challenge, Ben Rudolph said some stores were not playing fair.
I think with Nokia WP is finally getting some traction, especially at the price point they're selling it at. It was a smart move for Nokia to go WP rather then Android, it's easier for them to stand out. With Android they would just drown, among the sea of devices.
As far as the challenge goes it's not a scam but clever marketing. It reminds me of the old Pepsi Challenge campaign from years ago, funny how everyone shown in the ads always chose Pepsi
I've played with WP7, and it is a pretty slick OS. That said, these challenges are stacked in WP7's favor: social integration/efficiency.
It's not like they're gonna ask you to go to the market and download Instagram or other apps unavailable on WP7. Or pull up turn by turn navigation from google maps, or change your wallpaper, etc. etc.
Hi all,
I've been a both android and iPhone user. And for now I've switched back to android for Galaxy S3 because it has much bigger screen and wanna try how fast it is. However, it's my feeling I think not quite different from 4S, even 4S can respond fast in every game and application compared to galaxy. I don't know why... just feel like that during the time I use it.
One more thing is that I wonder why almost every game or application under the same name from iPhone, got available ahead of android and most of them have much more features and quality than android as well, eg., asphalt 7....
Sometimes, I feel so sad about this...
So I am waiting to read about all of your opinions on this matter...

It's because of the I in front of it. Apple have hacked the Android Play Store to check an online database of Iphone Apps, and if any developer tries to put an app on the Play store, the Apple Virus checks if the same app is already available for the Iphone. If it's not, it will delay the Android app in Stealth mode, and send the sourcecode to Apple. Apple will then convert the app for IOS, put an I in front of the name, and release it for Iphone. As soon as they do, the name with the I in front of it gets transferred to the remote database, signaling the Apple virus that this particular app is now available on Iphone, and it's safe to come out of Stealth mode and release the app into the Play Store, but upon release, the virus cuts out 2 or 3 random features. They did this so they can claim that they always have apps faster then Android, and with more features. Now you know.
Apple has a very limited set of devices which they have to support in their OS. Thus much more optimization can be done to "smooth" such things. That said, I find JB with Project Butter quite impressive in this regard.
But with owning a non-Nexus Samsung device you are not in the best hands regarding non-bloated and smooth firmwares.

Hmm, like what you said I should go to one "smooth" is better then holding many types of devices which is good only in shapes and spec but doesn't have quality. I still don't know how Google encourage their 3rd party devs to make one good app or game for android. As to hacker307 said seem play store is a cow-don't fix.

I regularly eat apples. Sometimes they tell me stuff.
Apple has far better system integration with their line of products. A good example is the iPhone 4S which has inferior spec compared with similar priced Android phones, but still it runs much more smooth than most of the android phone. Because every iPhone 4S is exactly the same, so software developer knows exactly how their software will perform on those units, and hence much more easier to optimize performance.
As to why iOS games is always ahead of Android, I believe that has a lot to do with the eco system of AppStore and Google Play respectively. iOS is more profitable than Google, but that is just my guess.
I can't understand what u have found about this two devices. I own an ipod 4th gen and I can say that my galaxy s plus is faster. I know iphone is the most beautiful but not the best at specs... I am sorry my friend. Also about the hacking is correct...

I think you are right, that is the reason. Dev`s tend to develop apps/games to get the most profit first.
I believe that all apple devices are pretty much the same since the first one so so application's can be made more quickly and easily. But android phones are made by different companies using different hardware so harder for developers

Get rid of the poorly autotranslated program descriptions. They sound ridiculous, at least in German. Use English text instead or look for good translators.
Try to include important keywords into your app desription, like the title of the original games - but in a "natural" manner.
The visual style of your game is not appealing. Use a better font, do not use "dirty grey* backgrounds. Use flat graphics. Try to get inspiration by games like Dots and Threes.
It looks like your game is quite hard to play on a 4" device. Try to make your assets bigger.

Your target devices have amazing hardware inside. your game should be able to tap into that powerful hardware resource available.
Otherwise target the low end android devices to improve the game popularity nad bugs and then work your way upto the flagships !!
You should also do more to promote your game. Go on Google+, start a blog, etc. You can't just depend on word of mouth, you have to self promote.
I generally love when people try pushing their apps into the store, but this game does not look attentive at all.Just because you worked on an app for a long time doesn't mean it will be a hit.
People like hd, possibly 3d apps that aren't too complicated.
Average people want a simple game to kill time, which is attractive. I don't know how to describe, but you must have talent for it xD

But vast majority of user have budget devices when newly launched. These devices were launched as flagships ( flagships are not brought by majority of people ).
Try improving the basic graphics of game so that, it does not give an impression of a cheap or free game even if small in size.
Release the app on iOS and Windows store . Since iOS popular games are more blindly followed into the Play Store popularity ratings by blogs.
This will give enough popularity fir your game.
See the problem is you are good in designing and all , but you need to learn to market your skills to people also. you need to highlight your plus points more visibly in the already crowded world of apps & games.
make people notice the difference.

Atleast make the GAME ICON in play store ATTRACTIVE or of HD quality.
Honestly , with the current icon, even when i am searching for a game and title meets the requirement, i would likely skip it for some spam and all.
Cause it looks like many other games out there already popular, just in different background. There are still a lot of games that can be played on budget hardware, I still use my evo 4g on cm11 and run a lot of the games I like that came out this year.
And now to me you've made it to where people will point and laugh and say that's the dev crying nobody's downloading they're app...actually, that is good marketing lol

Well as stated only having such a poor quality game that's HD only! These are simple games but to be honest having a HTC One S and that's apparently not good enough for your game kinda makes me think screw it, there are plenty of better looking similar apps that do work.
for starters, change that icon, it's terrible, less cold colors and more white would be great
