I was wondering if there is a way to download flash videos. Not youtube videos. I'm on 2.3.3 if that helps with anything.

A few questions before I root.

So I want to root my phone so I cna gain the tether and wifi tether features on my phone.
If I have all the current updates on my phone is it still possible to root with the one click option.
Are there and good YouTube videos with walkthroughs on flashing roms and rooting the epic?
Also after I root the phone are there any must have apps or anything I should put on my phone.
Thanks for the help!

Well u can used the one click .bin opcion... http://forum.sdx-developers.com/epic-development/one-click-root-for-the-epic-4g!/ from there u really dont need a video is pretty easy...one thing don't let the phone sleep while u doing it....
As a apps for root......... titanium back up..to back up u apps.... setpc to change the ghz from u phone (SPECIALLY IF U HAVE A OVERCLOCK KERNEL) for me thoese are the too special ones...
Good luck rooting and hope we can see u here more often...im not a dev. But i sure can help u with anything...is kinda hard to get help here when u a new user
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I've rooted and am slightly scared to install CMW.... but I'm doing it this weekend. Shine on brother.
Pretty easy the steps are baisically these
Do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=770388
Then this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=782300
From there you are rooted and have the recovery for flashing new stuff and the rest is optional
If it still says DI07 under Settings > About Phone > Baseband version
You should download the lastest DI18 update here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=797090
It's the one that says "Update to DI18 - flashes new DI18 kernel" at least that's the one I used and it worked.
The best WiFi tether I have found is the Mobile AP one found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=756804
After that I'd go with the MixUp Kernal with VooDoo better battery life and the VooDoo is for color and brightness enhancements in the AMOLED screen.
Anyway... that's what I did works for me

[Q] Noob Samsung infuse questions

I used Odin to update my Samsung Infuse 4G to gingerbread (Build Number - GINGERBREAD.UCKL2). I want to take it off (which I don't know how to do) and go about rooting it so that I can put cyanogenmod 7 on it.
Can someone tell me 1) how to remove gingerbread and go back to stock (is there any way outside of pressing factory reset on my phone? isn't there a way to do this through odin?) and 2) how to go about rooting and getting cyanogenmod 7?
thanks
Can't you just root it with gingerbread on it? I would just leave it on instead of downgrading and root it that way. Follow the link below, under "Unlocking and Rooting" you should see a written tutorial and a video guide to root. After you're done rooting, go to "Custom Roms", pick a ROM of your choice and follow the directions posted in their thread.

custom ROM updates
Ok, so here are my super duper nooby questions:
1. If I flash a custom ROM, do I have to keep checking here to see if there is an update, or will it go through or notify me on its own?
2. I have stock rooted UCLB3 now. Can I just wipe and flash R3V via CWM or do I have to return to original stock froyo first?
3. The whole reason I'm changing is b/c youtube all of a sudden won't work and it's pissing me off. I've searched the forums, tried all the suggestions that I can, and nothing is working. And it's not just youtube - it's my Facebook vids too. Unacceptable. Anyway, will flashing a different ROM fix it? I know it could potentially, but what about probably? I don't want to restore my **** if it's gonna restore the original problem I'm trying to fix. Thoughts?
Thanks for all the awesomeness this forum and dev's work provides.

I'm not an expert, but I think your problem is pretty clear. You flashed a rooted stock rom B3. If you read the post that you downloaded it from, I think you will see that it contains a non-stock kernel in order to enable the rooting to occur. The OP states that you must flash the stock kernel back in order to regain video. I don't think this is something for noobs, so thus far I have avoided it and used ROMs that are already rooted and fixed with video enabled.
One possibility is that "video" in the posts only refers to taking video with the camera, but I'm guessing there's a high chance what I said was right.
Custom ROMs won't typically notify you that there is a new version available. That's what xda is for.
Always go from stock if you want to have the least chance for problems. I use gtg's ultimate unbrick.

My bad. I didn't say that I was rooted to begin with and used the rooted B3 from here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1508619.html And that my video has been working for a week or more, but just stopped working today. Thanks for your reply!
I'm basically only a notch up from complete noob here.
But if you have device-specific questions, it's strongly preferred you pose them in the device-specific subforums (for Infuse: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1158).

Custom ROMs don't have OTA updates or update notifications. You'll have to keep checking.

If it's as you say, stock UCLB3 rooted and with CWM, you're g2g. No need to flash stock froyo.
(reference: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1437548
In the paragraph beginning with "One of the ways that I use regularly is," qkster gives a procedure for flashing custom ROMs starting out with a clean stock UCLB3.)

I wish I could tell you. I can't. But, I would take a completely uneducated guess and say it probably will make those things work.
EDIT: VVV With reference to the below, I was going to point that out, but I thought you were already aware of this
Hopefully that'll fix your issue.
*slaps forehead with hand*
How could I have missed the part in all caps that clearly addresses my issue:
TO GET VIDEO BACK UNZIP ZIMAGE_UCLB3.ZIP AND FLASH WITH SGS KERNEL FLASHER. BE SURE TO DISABLE VOODOO LAGFIX FIRST!
DOWNLOAD STOCK KERNEL HERE:
UCLB3 STOCK KERNEL
I feel like an idiot. I'm gonna try that. Sorry and thank you! I'll let you know if it doesn't work.

[Q] Flixster on Rooted Device

I'm wondering if there is an easy way to watch my downloaded Flixster (Ultraviolet) movie on my rooted P-3113. I'm getting an error that I can't play it because I'm using a rooted device. I searched and found some people saying to use SuperSU or OTA Root Keeper, but all these apps did was unroot me, but then Flixster still wouldn't let me play the movies. Any other ideas? I'm hoping for something simple.

Recover photos/videos Samsung galaxy s7

I have deleted some photos and videos that I would like to get back. What is the best way to get them back? My phone is not rooted. If possible I would like to recover them without rooting, but I am not against rooting if that is the only way. I tried Dr. Fone, but it didn't find any deleted photos or videos. If I need to root, will I lose all my photos and videos I have now? Just need guidance on what I need to do. thank you in advance.
I think your best shot is to go with App Store applications to recover files, they have not many chances to success, but they tend to recover something.
Can't post links atm so I can't give you any specific link but you can try the one with the title "Recover All My Files Free"
