I have deleted some photos and videos that I would like to get back. What is the best way to get them back? My phone is not rooted. If possible I would like to recover them without rooting, but I am not against rooting if that is the only way. I tried Dr. Fone, but it didn't find any deleted photos or videos. If I need to root, will I lose all my photos and videos I have now? Just need guidance on what I need to do. thank you in advance.
I think your best shot is to go with App Store applications to recover files, they have not many chances to success, but they tend to recover something.
Can't post links atm so I can't give you any specific link but you can try the one with the title "Recover All My Files Free"

Hello guys.
I want to recover a whatsapp picture I accidentally deleted a photo that is very useful. I have made alot of research on google to find out how to recover it. All I found was how to recover messages. Not pictures. So the question is can I recover it without root? I have tried alot of way to do it, some of them were false, outdated, not for free(too expensive), or just recovers the messages, no pictures. So if I can do it without root, please mention it, and if I can't do it without root then mention it too. Please mention some methods. Then I'll test out and see if it works.
By the way I am using a HTC One X International version (that means not AT&T version) running android 4.2.2, HTC Sense 5.0, bootloader locked, and as I said unrooted.
Please response ASAP. THX.

Maybe another solution could help ? This is for whole phone data lost.
This is a long shot but you can try plugging in your phone to your computer and use data recovery software like Recuva (freeware and effective)
Hi!
As the title says, photos have been accidentally deleted from a Galaxy S3 (i9300). I have read that it is possible to bring back photos with DIskDigger if I have a rooted phone. Unfortunately, the phone is not rooted yet, so I would like that if I root the phone now, will it be possible then to recover my photos? Do you have any experience of photo recovery? Is it possible even?
And one more question: Is this the good process of the root? http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/galaxys3-i9300-root-android43-jellybean-update-howto-521949
As far as I think It won't delete my memory, so the photo recovery would be applicable?
Thanks in advance!
Is there currently anyway to recover the deleted data on the Galaxy S8 + ? I have tried all of the recovery tools with no luck. I'm also not sure if the new root process would permanently delete the data or not.
Also I looked at the root method and it looks pretty complicated for a beginner.
First post and I have already learned quite a lot just from reading the forum.
Thanks to everyone for all of the effort a forum like this takes.

How long ago was it deleted? Have you been using the phone since? Particularly writing to it, but if it's userdata it's likely gotten writes anyway. If it's more than running 24h, I'd say dont hold out much hope ;'(
If possible, i would require root and be very non-trivial to accomplish. Which if you aren't up to it yourself you're likely looking at professional data recovery which is thousands of dollars
Hi there.
Have a Samsung Galaxy A42 5G that was dead here for some reason, and was sent in for service. No online backup of pictures was activated on the phone, and at the workshop they did a factory reset at the phone and upgraded to latest software.
Using any recovery tool at the phone now only tells me that root access is needed in order to have any possibility to recover pictures.
It seems for me that rooting this phone is a bit risky, and I don't know if it is possible to "un-root" it back to normal after.
If I can root this phone, how likely is it to find any pictures at the phone with some recovery tools? Possible that the upgrade of software have overwritten some old picture files?
Is it worth the risk, or better to forget the pictures and move on?
Regards, Nettulf
It's better to forget the photos and move on.
@Nettulf
Your question is asked in this forum almost every 14 days.
The answer is: Do NOT waste your time with trying to recover the wiped data. Blame the service who wiped them.
Thx for your reply, and I have seen similar questions with the same answers before yes ;-)
Just want to be sure that it is not any easy way on this phone. I guess the encryption and safety today make it much harder then before, I rooted some phones myself in the early days.
Recover them from your backups. Or sim card, and everywhere you have stored.
But if you have no backups, you can try some third-party tools.

Good Day,
I pulled out my Phone out of My pants and all My Pictures are gone since it formatted itself.
I tried to recover but it couldt find anything without root.
If i root with Magisk then it will overwrite alot of Data because of the new Rom.
Is it poissible to only unlock bootloader so i can use disk digger or does anyone know how i can deep scan my device with or withought root?
Normal Software didnt work.
Thank you very much for you Response.
Greetings
