So basically, my girlfriend sent me an MMS from her crappy blackberry (maybe a 3mp camera) and it came though fine and fast. But my mom sending me an MMS from her iPhone 4s never seems to work. On stock onclick, or now on MHX 5.0. Sock MMS app or the new AOSP one. I think maybe it has to do with size, but also maybe just because it is from an iPhone? I recieved one mms from her that worked, when I was on the phone with her and I checked it while on the phone. I am outside of an LTE area if that matters.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Yeah I have same problem with getting mms from my wife's 4s. I get them fine from my sisters 4 though.

I first noticed this about a week ago when i flashed SKYICS 7.2. I then flashed Melvins stock ROM.. Same problem. I then went and downloaded and flashed different radios.. Same problem. I even changed my apn to the wap.Cingular one.. Good speeds but picture messages do not work. I'll post screen shots when i get home.. Anyone have any input based on what i said so far? Fixes?

Are you on unlimited data plan? If so, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I believe you might have been throttled... No real way to fix that except wait for your bill cycle to renew.
I am on unlimited and I've been throttled before.. But i never received any messages saying such.

Yeah, it seems At&t has decided to do away with those altogether. I just magically went from 40mb down to 40kb down on 4 bars of LTE, but didn't get the message. Maybe there's some way we can sue them because they didn't warn us.
I believe this just happened to me

Exactly. I dont personally have a iPhone anymore, but make sure that whoever is sending you a message is not using iMessage. iMessage is proprietary "iPhone to iPhone" messaging service, much like BBM. Plus, make sure your APN information is set up properly. I dont think size of the picture would be an issue unless your provider blocks MMS files bigger then a specific size. From what I remember a iPhone automatically resizes, just like our Google phones do.
A friend of mine sent me a couple pictures from his iPhone to my Skyrocket and they came through fine. And I am not in LTE at all either (damn slow ass Canadian networks). You will receive pictures even on Edge service. It will just take longer for your phone to download the file is all.
One last thought on the topic. Did you used to have a iPhone, aka iPhone plan, and then upgrade to a Skyrocket? I did this, and there are a couple features with my carrier that are phone specific. For instance, visual voicemail. Which worked on my iPhone but wouldn't when I made the switch to Android. It could be, a long shot as it may be, that your provider has the settings for an iPhone. And when your gf tried to send you a message her phone thinks your on a iPhone.
Hope any of this helps. Bored on a Saturday and nothing else to do lol.
The reason is because the only Android device I've ever had (aside from the Nexus One) was the Infuse that worked with MMS. When I owned an iPhone 3G and 3GS, and Blackjack II I never had problems receiving or sending MMS until I moved to Android. I'm on a GNex (unlocked). I have had mobile data disabled on my phone (always) because it costs way too much for me and I am always in WiFi anyway.
Thanks!

For the infuse, you need mobile data to be enabled in order to send or reciece mms...some phones will automatically turn data on just for mms...but not the infuse ...WiFi won't work with mms

I pulled my sim from an iPhone 5s and put it in my Nexus 5. It auto provisioned the APN's and MMS is listed in the type field. I can send MMS to people, but not receive. Anyone else seeing the behavior?
I'm on aio (pre paid at&t)(7gigs/$70) with same problem. They put the apns at the store.
Side note. Not really happy with service. Co worker has post paid at&t. He gets easy better speeds standing right next to each other.

Need some input please. I recently joined t-mobile with the nexus 5. My wife has Verizon. I have been having issues sending and receiving pictures Sent mms between the devices. After speaking with customer service at t-mobile I was told that they have a mms size limit of 2gb and that is why the pics are not sending or being received. Apparently Verizon also has an mms size restriction similar to this. Why did I not have issues in the past when on Verizon? Doesn't the carrier reduce the file size when sending? So am I supposed to resize every pic before sending when I haven't done so the past 5 years? Is this. Nexus issue? Thanks
