Okay,so after a super terrible day of bad luck, i was working out about an hour ago with my buddy. my phone was in my hoody pocket and when i went to get on the bench it fell out and the top left part of the digitizer (i think it is called at least) has the common glassy smartphone crack with the ripple effect about 3/4 of an inch into the phone. I have the AT&T approved case for it that i bought with it but that didnt help the 1.5 foot drop. When i bought the phone i made sure i got a warranty plan that would cover accidents. I could have sworn that the guy said it was full coverage. But then i did my research and it turns out that this is the warranty restrictions http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/basics/choosing-features-services/wireless-insurance.jsp and it turns out that it only gives you a deductible and i am a highschool student with no job or allowance and cannot afford to put 200$ into a new phone. Is there any super advanced exaggerated story that i can feed the AT&T customer support to where i get a refurb replacement for free? Its a little immoral but i paid for a complete coverage plan. And phones with cases shouldnt crack from that height. Please help me XDA community.
EDIT: Any suggestions are appreciated.
Does it cover theft/loss??

okay well i guess im going to have to pay the deductible. But i found out it is only 50 for the aria so im a little happier now.
My buddy said he'd sell me his sensation for $100. It has a cracked screen and ever since he dropped it and cracked it the speaker is kinda hit and miss. Is this a common issue when the screen cracks or is there a hardware problem at this point? I was going to order the HTC One S until I found out it has a sealed battery and there's no slot for an sd card.. LAME! Thanks for anyones help in advance!
I think the speaker got hit too, check out fixing prices for them but I think it worth 100 bucks. No warranty though?

I have insurance with T-Mobile so worst case I would buy it at $100 and pay $130 for a replacement, not bad. I was hoping to just repaid the screen since I can do it for free at work but the speaker scares me. Not sure if its worth the hassle.
That would not be so expensive to replace, would it?

Hi all,
I am contemplating putting my NS up for sale. Not sure what I can sell it for though. Ebay is all over the map.
Here is what I have:
Unlocked Rooted ATT version I9020A, black color
Wall plug wire
Limited Edition back cover, real not knockoff.
Samsung windshield holder with 3' cigarette lighter wire
Samsung desktop with USB/wall plug wire.
Amzer soft cover
This is the NS that I list on my sig.
What should I ask for this package, and what should I settle on?
Thanks
Heeter
200

If even $200. Sorry to tell you, but with the Galaxy Nexus out, the Nexus S isn't really the hottest stuff on the block.
Thanks all,

In Greece is still at the stores. You can buy ona 9023 (slcd) with 200 euros.
So i guess that a used 9020 (amoled) could be sold at 140 euros...

Koodo Mobile used to sell a NEW Nexus S (before it was discontinued) at $300, and their One V is currently selling for $175 outright.
With that in mind, even $200 is a little much. Maybe $150?
Hey just to be sure I didn't get screwed over.
Was my i9023 worth 260€ back in December? Do prices really drop so quickly?
I searched quite some time to find the cheapest one. It was also new and not used by someone else.
Cosmetic condition will influence the resale price. If you have a perfect screen with no scratches, and no scratches on the body, it should go for more. I wouldn't sell it for less than $150-$170, in decent condition, especially with the accessories/cover. Throw it on CL for $200, take some nice pics, write a thrilling ad, and see what happens.
... or keep it and use it as a dedicated "ipod/ipod touch".
Keep it and use it as a developers phone for porting roms

I see them all day long for around 100 bucks on CL. They are still great phones, but the the general public, they are outdated.

Yeah its pretty crazy how much our phones have dropped in price. I would say about 6 months ago when ICS came out they were easily selling on Craigslist for $300. Now people are lucky to sell em for $150-200. I wonder if we'll see an increase in price again when JB officially comes. People tend to want the "new thing".

Make a separate thread dude...
I cracked the screen on my phone. I'm looking for someone who may have a LG G2X they would want to sell or another t-mobile smartphone they would get rid of cheap.
Check out the marketplace for wanting to sell, they have lots of phones to buy here.

Why not just repair the screen yourself?

The digitizer is cheap on eBay. Cheaper than buying another phone

I looked at some of the videos on how to repair the screen. looks kinda difficult.Unless someone knows a good video the ones I have seen are not real clear.
It's really not all that difficult. Alongside the large numbers of repair videos, I think you'll be just fine.
Buying a digitizer with the frame is very preferable.
Recently cracked my nexus 5 screen and I'm thinking about sending it to US lg (from here in Canada) for screen repair. Has anyone been in a similar situation and what's the best way to handle this?
Iv seen a few threads on this. Lg should charge about $150 USD the LCD and glass are fuzed together so you will need to replace the entire front panel. The part costs 100-150. If you are lucky you'll find it for 100 bucks. Its very easy to replace it yourself. But to have it replaced for $150 by the manufacturer is a no brainer for now. That is for the next for months. The cost of this part will go down for sure. I predict around 80-100 by may.

I had the screen on my Nexus 4 repaired through LG. It cost me $140 and they just sent me a new device. Took about a week from the time I sent it till I got my new one.

I have been waiting for the Nexus 7 screen+digitizer cost to go down for over 6-7 months now - no luck yet. I'm not sure the Nexus 5 will be any different. If it does, great, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that.
