Didnt see anything in a search for this. Is there anyway to put Android on the iphone, anyone know a tutorial or anything?
Now that would be an improvement!!
Everything is possible if a talanted developer puts enough man hours into it. It won't run smoothly with all the missing drivers and such, but it is doable.
android on the Leo would be much cooler IMO!
... -sigh- ...
Why does almost everybody want android on there phones..
Just buy a android device LOL
before android there were people who wanted iphone osx on their wm phone
and people who wanted wm os on their iphone too
The one constant is that some people are never happy no matter what they're offered, and get off on whining.

Um no its not...but thanks for your useless input
it's not possible.
the iphone os is protected by security certificates.
it was a lot of work developing the jailbreak, through an exploit in the os.
not to mention what work would be to port the complete Android OS.
but why would you do that anyway? Buy a device dedicated to what you need for optimum performance.

If you don't actually care about running WM and want an exclusively android device, rumor has it that HTC will be releasing a 1GHz Android device which may be similar to the Leo, so you might want to wait a while. Besides, Android would run much better on a device with a native Android bootloader and compatible hardware (meaning no tweaks to get it working).

I don't think anyone outside HTC knows the answer to that, only that it will probably be in a while. However, they (may) have a prototype, as shown here, which is a good sign developmentally.
I think Android on iPhone would be pretty sweet too. The iPhone is a nice piece of hardware, but I am a die-hard Android user.
I've done a lot of Google searching, and it seems like there is no news after they got the Linux kernel to run with openiBoot. The HTC Dream (T-Mobile G1) and the iPhone both use ARM11-family processors. I imagine that porting the Java VM over wouldn't be that hard for someone who knows what they're doing.
Kind of sad, really. I would proudly rock an Android iPhone.
i see necro post...but iphone < nexus one.

I'm at the cross road of deciding between the next iPhone versus the HTC Supersonic myself and still trying to compare between these os before making the final decision. I would like to invite you guys with good Android knowledge to participate in the following thread and to supply specific detailed information on the full capability of Android phones.

I used to hack my Nokia phones, but that falls a bit short of the feeling upon installing a new rom...it's a whole new galaxy. I love it! Thank you all for the crash course in Windows/HTC. Nokia had a good start - and they still make amazing phones. I have an e70 I still play with and STILL blows a lot of phones away. Infrared ftw - why does no one else include it? But Symbian is just too old now and it doesn't progress enough imho. Yea, if I came across a good, recent Nokia phone for a decent price - I'd buy it to play with. It's not going to replace my Android, though.

I'm very excited about this. Nokia's quality in their high-end devices has always top notch! I can't wait to see a nokia device with a good OS on it...

Yea, what the title says, i saw WP7 at a delicious price and found it really cool, my question is, i am 16, have been working with android for a while and i'd like to try something new, would this fit my needs, i am into social networks and it's got Xbox Live, which a major advantage for me!
Yes, I think it actually pretty good for everyone...
Messaging is awesome as it combines messenger, facebook messaging and sms into a single application.
If you (and your friends/classmates) don't care about handset's popularity, "glamour and prestige", WP7 is right choice for you
P.S. 15-year-old daughter of my friend rejected WP7 'cause it's "not so cute and fashionable as iPhone", and "everyone in school has an iPhone"

Actually, teens here in portugal don't really care about fashionable phones, they stick to the simplest phones, but i might get a WP7 then, it seems reasonable and good for me, so thanks for the replies!
Its absolutely insane how cheap most wp7 devices are . All due to marketing and popularity . I'd get one before they get popular and raise in price .

Yeah, that's true. I've got an HTC Desire with Launcher 7 on it and an HTC HD7. And the only phone I use is the HD7. The WP7 experience is just incredible - it's really smooth and runs fast and everything you need is integrated into the OS.
/end of OT
I think that WP7 is a good choice for everyone. It doesn't matter if you're a teen, an adult or an elderly person. I'd definitely recommend a WP7 device. You can't make anything wrong with it.
And i also want to see some comparisons between wp7 and other platform's
so i'm gonna begin..
I had a few android devices and now i have a Nokia lumia 710 , ..
On wp7 i like : - better looking UI
- wp has cheaper devices with good performance
- wp is more stable, and its smoother
- wp has more simple UI
On wp7 i dont like : - Not so many high graphic games like on android and ios
- Not so many applications
- The fact that allmost no one uses it
- The fact that not many roms are made for wp (and the ones that are available do not have so many features as android roms)
- U cant send anything via bluetooth (without a rom)
- U cant view folders and stuff (without a rom)
- U cant upload a video on youtube (u can wit a program like metrotube where u need to record with that program )
On Android i like : - It has many apps , and games
- u can easily root and unlock it
- when u root and unlock it u can do anything u want on it .. like overcolock it
- u will see more development on android stuff
- U have better graphics on android (but i belive wp8 will have much better graphics)
On Android i dont like : - the UI is kinda getting old and boring
-it needs stronger processors to run smoothly ( i think thats fixed with jellybean )
I never had a iOS device, but for now i can say many apps and not bad looking, TOO EXPENSIVE AND NEEDS MORE QUALITY !!!
AND I THINK WINDOWS IS A MUCH SMOOTHER AND BETTER OS FOR AVERAGE USE (like calling, texting, surfing the web, maybe play some game )
AND ANDROID IS LIKE A OS FOR PLAYING GAMES, DOWNLOADING APPS, AND HACKING IT( I MEAN LIKE OVERCLOCKING IT AND STUFF LIKE THAT )
So it would be perfect to make a os like in the mittle ( metro UI with possibilities like on android, )
AND FOR NOW IM A LITTLE BIT MORE FOR ANDROID, BUT I THINK FUTURE WP8 DEVICES WILL BE WAY BETTER THEN ANDROID
she omadoer
I agree that apple needs better quality applications as there is a lot of junk on the app store, though Windows barely has any apps!
Don't like the tiles of WP or the minimal ability to customize it, but it's good for people who want a pretty good looking UI and a smooth interface. They're definitely going to have to ramp up the app selection for it to become a viable platform.
Most new adopters buy based on recommendations, and there aren't a whole lot of people who are going to to recommend a Windows Phone.

Don't hold your breath. It's going to be a while before Nokia or anyone can fit a sensor with resolution like that and the required optics into a slim phone body. I can assure you they didn't put it in a thick symbian device because they thought that would help to make it a top seller.

The lumia pureview has 41Mpx and it is cheaper than the lumia 900.
Anyway, I find the Metro UI (or whatever it's gonna be renamed to next week) to be too simply and boring. Sure, it's refreshing initially, especially after using several android and IOS devices, but it's ultimately too simple. Admittedly, I've never owned one, and my only experience of using Lumias comes from using my friend's phone.
And besides, everyone knows that the best phone from Nokia is still the N95 8Gb
I used a Samsung Focus for a week before returning back to Android a while ago. Simply put, it was rather boring and there were no good apps available. Any good apps were way overpriced. Don't really like metro UI, too simple and barely customizable. I can see how this would appeal to others however.
It was fast and fluid for sure. But the best part about it was the keyboard. The best keyboard I have ever used on a mobile device including qwertys! It was a dream.

WP is clean vs how Android looks stock, but it does not compare at all in terms of customization, so "u need to accept that."
As to your statement that 2MP is fine for you, you are certainly in the minority.

Windows phones don't respect your freedom. RMS verdict: nope.jfif.
I got b& at /a/ for sh!tposting ;_;
First I've used WP7.5 and android 4.1 a.k.a. Jelly Bean
windows maybe smooth but its ui looks boring kinda bland with no way to customize it at least not much or easy so all that windows has is smooth in there favor
Now jelly bean my first experience of it was a custom ROM and to get it to boot it had almost nothing about as many features as a windows phone and it was running tons smoother than windows (yes that is possible) and that was without butter and now I have a almost full functioning jb with butter and as long as I'm not running 10 apps in the background it runs just as smooth as my mother's Samsung focus and the app base is big and its growing faster than iPhone
So what android has
apps
Customizeablity
Fairly smooth (I'm running jelly bean on a single core 1.2Ghz processor) with only a small lag every once in a while
Settings and features galore
P.s. my mother is not happy with her windows phone she wants me to go get a gs3 and then give her my android
