I don't know if this is true or not, but I read a post on HoFo today that said HTC is now equipped to sell original accessories for the Nexus One including the original Android sleeve that ships with the phone.
If you want to give it a shot, the number to HTC's accessory sales department is 1-888-716-3594. I tried calling them today, but they were already closed. I'd call again tomorrow, but I work during their same business hours. For those interested please post if you find out whether or not we can order replacement sleeves instead of haggling with other XDA members for each others.
I called to price out a replacement battery and they took my info and said they would either email or call me with pricing information and could take my order at that point.
What are the chances they're selling the mythical car dock?
(I'm kidding, I assume we'd have heard about it from Google if it was ready).

I would love to hear the prices, if anyone gets any information at all, please share
Just got off the phone with them. I asked if they carried the stock Nexus One sleeve, he asked if I needed one sent out to me. He asked for my IMEI number, confirmed my address, and said he would send one right out. No charge. I also asked if they carry any other Nexus One accessories and was told only the other original accessories that come with the Nexus. The entire conversation lasted 3 minutes.

Oh, and hey, a tip: if a company gives something for free just to be nice, don't exploit it or they'll stop

oh yeah! i didnt go for the sleeve, i asked for a new pair of headphones! my left earpiece was yanked off at work last week..
first rep. denied my request coz i told her it was my fault my left earpiece came off. DAMN IT!!!! i hate being so honest!
the next day i called again and told the other rep. my headset was defective. THIS TIME I LIED! the rep then processed my request and sent me a new pair. FOR FREE
im not tryin to scam htc or anything, i was ready to buy the stock headphones i like how i can skip rewind play and pause my music with the stock headphones and i think the sound quality was alright. BUT HEY IF THEY ARE GIVING THEM FOR FREE ILL TAKE IT ANYTIME OF THE DAY!
its weird they are not selling them but rather give them to nexus one owners.

What do you mean you were ready to buy??? You just admitted you called in, and chose to lie, to trick them into thinking it was a warranty replacement and send it in for free just so you could save a few dollars on your $500 phone... wow.... what a new level of low.... congratulations to you... I guess my feeling is pitty?
And just for the record, THEY ARE NOT GIVING IT FOR FREE... if it is a factory deffect with yours, then you are entitled to a replacement/fix... it isnt that they are choosing some people, based on what you tell them, to get a free pair...
What happens is that because of ppl abusing the system (i.e. like you) these companies get fed up and make crappy obstacles that genuine users with genuine problems need to jump through in order to get genuine support...

His earbuds were BROKEN and they wouldn't replace them knowing he did it so he didn't have much of a choice but to tell them it was a factory defect...It's one thing if you truly broke them and it your just getting them to get them..
Frankly if the guy's willing to buy them but unable to, which is the case right now, I agree with his "white lie" approach. It's not like he's trying to get a second set as a backup or something... i.e. he's not abusing anything here.
like i said i did not go for the sleeve. i have my sleeve my earphone on the other hand broke. so i was gonna BUY a pair but the rep said they DONT sell them IDK why but if it was defective they will send out a pair.
i like the stock headphones. mine broke and i was looking to buy a pair.
how the hell did i abuse htc? coz i lied? i didnt mind paying for headphones but this is the only option to get the stock headphones. call htc and try to buy one they will tell you what they told me. they dont sell them right now. and there is no way of buying one. its not my fault if they are too slow with providing accessories for sale.
i was just sharing my experience with costumer support. and if you got the wrong ideas then you got problems buddy.

If you guys are trying to get free stuff out of HTC, please don't. They are in some hard times right now.
Called HTC a week ago asking if they were selling any factory oem batteries & sleeves yet... they took my IMEI number and said they'd get back to me...
Never heard from them but 5 days later a brand new factory oem battery and sleeve was sitting in my mailbox!
+1 for HTC customer service!
HTC is pretty cool, just called cause my sister wanted a sleeve for her phone. Asked if they were selling, the rep asked if I had lost it, told him nope. They still sent it out for free.
+1 HTC
just called up, said if i lost mine he could send a new one, told him i did, hes sending a new one.....he said if i needed to purchase another to call customer care, also asked about battery he said buy from google.com/phone
Hi,
i talked to htc just telling them i got this crackling noise when pushing on screen.
they sent me another backplate and now my phone feels like another one ...
nothing is crackling anymore... it feels a lot more solid ...
so people ... just write htc a message ... let them bleed for this

actually ... at first i called them and asked for a replacement... but they told me we need a picture of the lose backplate and some further information from me. so they told me i have to go on their site and send them a message with my request.
in the message i gave them my adress and the information about the crackling noise and that it seems to me that the phone doesnt really fit into the backplate ... bla bla ... just making them understand... put my EMEI code into the message and that was it.
day later i got an email from them that they are into it and sending me a replacement
and the new one fits really great

You used to be able to get one for free, but some people complained about people committing fraud from this forum (someone posted instructions on how to get one for free) and then they started requiring you to send your old one back or giving them a credit card number.
for me it was free ... now i have two backplates
Good for you people... They told me to send it in for repares :I
It was an automated reply, it even included a part that mentioned to remove the back cover before sending. Idiots.

stupid HTC, how does a picture prove anything, its not like u can see the crackling noise, its when u press on the screen. Like when trynna delete an app from a home screen, mine crackles. Or just slight push on the right edge..

I have replacement back cover coming too.
I contacted HTC on Live chat and they could not have been nicer.
I explained the clicking noise I was getting from phone and told her i was worried that it was going to get worse and that i was worried about dust getting into it.
Also said (nicely) that for a high end device and the companys (current) flagship phone that it was dissapointing that this was happening.
She asked for my serial no - and a couple of minutes later, viola, new back cover on the way.
no credit card - no sending in for repairs- no photos?? (like they would help anyway)
Well done HTC -
I had my volume button fall off. Called HTC via the phone number for US customer service from their website. Told the lady what happened and she was more than happy to send me a new one, free of charge. No CC info or return required for me. Unfortunately it was on backorder and the delivery was delayed by 3 weeks, but here now and I have a backup if ever needed, just no volume button.
She did tell me that all accessories have one free replacement. So I'm assuming that's the backplate, battery and maybe the headphones and charger too.
Anyways, I couldn't be more pleased how way this while process was and how polite the htc lady was. Cheers to htc for a job well done on the customer service side of things!
And boo to all the people who abuse this service and possibly make then start charging your CC and such!

i got 2 back covers from them and a battery for free.
i requested replacements for my sensation before but Tmobile sent me faulty ones :/ , it was like 2 replacements in a week, so i contacted them and told them im going to keep my old phone instead.
i took the replacement phones IMEI stuff, then i called HTC. lol
Mine had a crackling noise also and was very loose they sent me a new one with no issues at all, The new one came and the dang power button was sunken in! so im asking for another!!
Aah, awesome! I dropped by phone on it's back and it's all scratched. I fixed the crackling noise with some isolation tape but what the heck, going to try this tomorrow
Hi there.....
I'm from new zealand... And i used to have bricked or dead samsung galaxy tab and i was very frustrated of how can i fix it or if there's any chance at all to revive it...
Until i found here and read on some of the forums on xda about mobiletechvideos.com .... They were very popular in fixing different kind of phones even the latest one. I urgently send them in the u.s my phone via courier... Amazingly they were able to resurrect my phone without a hitch!....
Hey .. Im not a paid actor to promote their services ....am a real person which is just thankful enough.... they were able to help me ...even i'm miles away...
Thanks again mr. Jgroce of mobiletechvideos.com
MobilTechVideos resurrect my GT-i9003
Hi, just to share my mobileTechVideos review with XDA members,
I bricked my phone by flashing it with the wrong firmware (GT-i9000 firmware instead of GT-i9003 firmware).
The phone wont turn on and the screen stay black with no power button, no recovery mode...nothing !!! and I found mobiletechvideos via XDA forum.
and.....HE MADE IT !!!!!! It's AWESOME !!! A VERY BIG THANK YOU, I thank that my phone was dead, and he resurrect it ! You are the best..
I live in Tahiti (French Polynesia) and I thank that the distance will be a problem for sending the phone and have it back, but no ! Everything was perfect...The communication with mobiletechvideos via the website is easy and fast, I had an answer very quick.
I highly recommend !
A very BIG Mauruuru (Thank you in Tahitian) to Josh
Thanks guys. To anyone considering us, we are the real deal and I help out all the time here on XDA throughout the forums and I'm an active member.
He Did Good for Me
I sent my Samsung phone to mobiletechvideos to get unbricked, just got it back a few days ago, and it's indeed unbricked. That cost me $50 and postage, plus $10 for ICS and root access. Everything is as promised.
The turn-around time? He didn't quite meet his announced standard (perhaps the July 4 holiday was a factor) but I'm not complaining. I got it back 2 weeks and 2 days after I sent it in. Not bad.
If you're in New Zealand? You'll have a longer shipping time, I guess, but I'm sure he'll do a good job for you.
One thing ... if you're reading this Josh ... if you happen to remember, could you tell me what you did to unbrick my phone? I put up a thread on the TMobile site about it that drew more than 3,000 views and replies from 81 people, nothing suggested would work. You must know something the rest of us don't.
I'm also a little curious to know how you learned to do this stuff. Kindly, R
JTAG
I bought a Galaxy Note GT 7000 with GB then Rooted with Odin and flashed a couple of custom ROMs including King Droid v2&3. As soon as the Samsung stock ICS was leaked, (being confident after success with 4 different ROMs), I rushed into flashing buggy stock XXLPY and got stuck on ! yellow triangle! I tried XDA SuperBrick Odin, PIT, Bootloader, PDA, Phone, & CSC. Went well up to repeatedly hanging on factoryfs.img - NAND Write Start!! Looked for JTAG tech. Found the closest one to my home in Toronto Ontario Canada. NOT RECOMMENDING cellulartech.ca! I got my NOTE back a couple of weeks later in more or less the same condition? Because of your recommendations, I think I might look up mobiletechvideos.

My experience with MobileTechVideos
I am from Oceanside, CA and I sent my Samsung Infuse to Josh because I wanted to get the rear housing replace after dropping it at the gym. He was very understanding over the phone, taking plenty of time to talk to me and assure me of his talent and skill. I boxed my phone up and sent it off, and I was able to monitor every step of the way. Very professional. I've told quite a few of my Droid friends about his business.
After getting it back, I noticed a small glitch in it, and Josh immediately took responsibility for it. He offered to take it back to his shop and fix the problem, free of charge. I haven't received it back yet, but I have confidence that I'll see my phone any day now in perfect working order. I'll add to this post as soon as I get it and let everyone know how it went! :good:
Great work!
I was having problems with my Samsung Infuse power button. It's out of warranty, but I did have insurance through AT&T. I explored that, only to find that it was a $199.99 deductible, which I can't afford, nor want to pay. Especially since my upgrade is in January (Likely eyeing the HTC One X+ )
So after googling and searching fora, I read about Mobile Tech Videos on here. And read that someone suggested to a member with a similar issue.
I of course was very hesitant, like I'm sure many others, but figured... hey, $30, it's worth a shot, but I got it back and the power button looks absolutely perfect and good as new. And the phone is up and working again. After having borrowed an old iPhone 3G for about 2 weeks, I couldn't be more pleased with the service I received and more grateful to have Android.
Anyone that's having issues with their phone, MobileTechVideos is the way to go.
Again, thanks MobileTechVideos. And of course, XDA. Without either, I wouldn't have a functioning phone!
Another thumb up for these guys
Sent in my dead i747 for repair after I drove a stake through it's digital heart. MobileTech brought it back to life. These guys are worth every penny.
Be Aware.
I am extremely shocked on how MobileTechVideos screwed me over. I sent the phone to him about a week ago and got it back yesterday with no fix at all. I even have been sending him messages and he won't even respond. I was charged $75 and never got it back. What an unprofessional work of him to do. I think if he didn't know how to fix it, he won't even respond to your messages.

Symptoms were: no signs of life except when connected to PC you can see flashing "CDMA device...something" in Device Manager. Got it back in ~10 days (holidays and I live in remote area). Want to say THANKS and recommend MobileTechVideos to everyone has bricked device as a last resort. :good:

This customer was refunded promptly and IN FULL of the $75 they paid due to their device having a bad EMMC chip. I was a few employees short that week (week within just a few days of Christmas) due to the holidays so some things like processing refunds fell a bit behind to keep all operations in order. We are now operating at fully capacity as usual...
Please note, if any questions are ever needed and response is needed faster than standard email replies (usually within 2 business days) please feel free to call directly at 657-444-JTAG to speak directly with Josh or another technician immediately during business hours.
Thanks again for the positive reviews everyone...

Thanks. Did you see my follow-up from December 31st? I want to send my phone soon, but I had some additional questions.
Hey I have a galaxy s 3 l710 (sprint).
I manage to brick it by installing the wrong kernel.
The only thing it does it shows is the light and had missing drivers.
I used driver max to get them and can see it as a com port in qpst.
Can a jig fix it or would I have to send it in to you?
This guy is the real deal, even if he's not all-powerful.
I sent him my bricked/fried HTC One X, which had stopped booting or even charging after using a faulty car charger (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35933372#post35933372).
Long story short, he was unable to fix the phone to a bootable status, but he did recover all of the files and photos that I had in it. Those photos had a lot of sentimental value for me, and to be honest they were what I most cared about when I realized the phone was bricked.
I recommend MobileTechVideos, even if I wish it hadn't been so expensive.
i send my sprint s3 in two days ago and called today. josh immeditialy answered the phone and answered all my questions cant wait to see the magic this guy can work!!
Sent in my hard bricked GS3 last week to Josh. Waiting to see what happens. Will post results.
Well I after 11 months had the volume rocker known issue happen and little spring come off. I went to TMOUS store and they gave me HTC number as they said phone still under warrenty. Only by a few weeks but still covered.
So I call HTC and they were very nice on phone. He said yes phone rear cover is covered. The date of call was 5-16-12 My phone was bought on 6-12-11. So covered but barely. Was told they would shop out new rear cover asap. I was to see an email confirming this order.
Well 2 weeks go by and no email or part. So I called on 5-29-12 to check on status. Next CSR says, Oh I found issue, first guy ordered from wrong supplier??? I will fix this for you sir. He says it fixed and walllaa I do get an immediate email with status and order number.
Well 3 weeks go buy and its now 6-24-12 past my year date and warrenty now. I see no part and status shows waiting for part. So I call back. A very monotone CSR says, We are waiting for your bad rear cover so we can send you new one. I was like WTF! I was told by last 2 csrs no return or exchange was to be done and part would be simply sent to me. He then puts me on hold and comes back and says SIR YOUR PHONE IS NO LONGER ON WARRENTY so you will have to pay for part! I was like are you friggin kidding. I have 2 order numbers showing I called in process before end of warrenty. He in a continued monotone voice says. Yes sir I understand that but our computors have no way to fix this so I do not know of any way to not charge you.
I ask for a supervisor and he puts me on hold and comes back and says he is sending order to esculation dept and they will send part without exchange.
However now a few days later no new email confirmation. I think they are stringing me along and I will never see cover and will have to buy on.
Has anyone else dealt with this kind of issue with HTC?
Strange... I emailed them and they send me a new one. No questions asked.

Yeah, I emailed them about several problems and they said they'll send my phone in another country for repairs if I'm not pleased with the service here.
So they would rather send my phone abroad than simply replace it.
This is the last HTC I'll ever buy.
Iceshark did you received an email for the satisfaction survey? I did and my answers was very Unsatisfied with every question. THEY called me to ask why I was so negative about them, I explained my case from there someone is following up my status every day or so from HTC.
I have 2 Sensation, 1 Amaze, 1 Evo 3D and my lovely Hero from HTC, maybe I deserve some appreciation from them. I told them next time I'll shop for a phone I may have a look at their competitors if they can't honor their warranty.

I did, however only after my initial call. at that time I thought the service was good. So I filled it out as so. I did not get it after the next 2 calls. Wish I had.
The good news is according to the order number. It now says SHIPPED! :good: So hopefully it shows up in next few days. I will report back. Well what can I say, a complete farce from start to finish.
From pre ordering to the numerous phone calls and emails to cancel my order and then to try and return my phone for a full refund.
In the end I had to get the police, Santander bank and trading standards involved to get my money back.
I had to wait 3 weeks for my order to ship to me in which time they wouldn't cancel my order even though the phone wasn't built or shipped.
They then said they would send out a pre paid label for me to return the phone, 6 times I had to request this and they never sent the labels while the 14 day returns time scale ran out due to this! I rang DHL and they told me no request was ever made for a returns label!
This left me with no option but to contact the police ,my bank and trading standards, all of whom were brilliant and helped me out :good:, my bank did a charge bank and refunded me my money back. All emails that I sent and received was shown to the above and once Motorola found out I had contacted the above they refused to respond to me anymore
I now have a brand new and sealed moto x style sat on my shelf , I have my money back and I have done all I can to return the phone, I don't know what to do with the phone now?
This was my 1st experience with Motorola, I have read similar experiences , and no doubt that there are lots of happy customers. How can they treat customers like this.
Motorolas loss was Nexus 6p gain
Interesting, I got my return label in about an hour because I requested it online. No phone call was needed. I didn't send my phone back but I could. From what I have read that is the way to do this, go online, submit a return within a few hours you will have an email with the label, end of the issue. I think you will eventually have to send it back or more legal issues may occur.
Seems to me that the phone support is poor so just don't go through them
I wasn't aware you could request online, but I had numerous emails and phone calls asking for a returns label that should have been noted.
Yes i have the kept the phone in safe keeping until they ask for it back!
Did you check your junk mail folder? After 6 requests I feel like they would have sent at least one label.

I've heard of others who had this issue, but just go online and you'll have your label before lunch. Omit the problem (phone support) and you wont have any issues.

Yes that was the first thing I checked, the police and my bank also asked the same question! Like I said DHL confirmed that no return was ever requested from Motorola

To be honest I really can't be bothered anymore as Motorola have messed me around for a good month, now they can do the chasing !

Thanks, although I was really looking forward to the style, I'm still tempted to open up the box and have a little play but perhaps I'm better leaving it sealed?

doesn't matter at this point. Within the 14 days you can use the device as a daily driver so to them it doesn't matter. If I were you I would play with it. Just don't break it lol
Man, I feel for ya. I hate seeing stories like this. A horrible customer service experience can completely ruin what would otherwise be a nice device experience. Glad you got your money back in any case.
Have you considered giving the device another shot since you now have it? You'd have to send the money back again, but you wouldn't have to wait on shipping.
What made you not want the phone in the first place? Delays in shipping?

If it were me, I'd leave it sealed for 90 days at least. If at that point there is no dispute to the charge back from the bank, no contact from Motorola, etc, you should be safe to say you have a free phone. Keep in mind, just because you got your money back doesn't mean Motorola isn't disputing it on their end. And the bank could at any moment take that money back. If it comes to that, you could need to provide a sealed box device. If you can't, you could be out of luck.
Right now you have a free phone. If you sit on it for a few months, and nothing more comes of it, you still have a free phone.

You know, reading this post just made me decide to go ahead and unlock my device (that I've had for a week) for rooting/moding. I was on the fence because if I unlocked it I would have lost my warranty. But knowing I will never have to deal with Moto Customer Service is a good thing. I won't wanna lose my phone for weeks if something goes wrong anyway, so I'll be better with my local repair shop.
My previous phone, Galaxy S4, developed the dreaded swollen battery. And they wanted me to send it back for a replacement, instead of just sending me a battery. So that makes me not want to deal with customer service at all.
Sorry to hear about your experience. though.

Im intending to keep the phone sealed now, i dont think i have heard the last of Motorola support! Lets see how long it takes for them to send out a label now i have my money back!
I got full refund after having phone for like 5 days, unlocked boot loader and all, no issue at all, then bought the bigger internal memory one, which I should have from beginning. i think you go a bad luck kinda deal my friend
Sorry you feel that way...

For me, the prepaid return label was FedEx, even though the package originally came DHL. Might want to check with them.
This is why I bought mine from Amazon, but I'm keeping it.

Motorola contracts FedEx for the return. Not DHL. You went the wrong route.
Also, make sure your Motorola account has the correct email address. I used Google Plus login when I created the Motorola account and it showed some weird email address when I check my Motorola profile. I had to go in there and updated to the correct email address.
You will want to send the phone back. Contact any FedEx retail location, give them your address and they may have your label on file. If you decide to keep the phone, Motorola might bill you for it. If you don't pay, they will send you to collection. Good luck.
