None here. Type dead pixel fixer on YouTube. It might help.

It's production fault, you should find Samsung dead pixel policy about warranty for that matter.
Those "pixel fixer" are sh.t, still you can try
New flawless LCD is only thing that should work.
Went to Samsung service centre only to be told that unless there is substansial damage to the screen, there is nothing they can do
Update :
I am getting a new SGR from samsung
Dead pixal
hey even i have a dead pixals on my galaxy R...
i bought it from flipkart so i asked them to replace my phone which is out of stock... they are ready to give store credit.. but i'm confused to give back the phone, this phone won't be manufactured anymore..........

hey all...does anyone have dead/stuck pixels on their captivate? i got mine in december and i just noticed i have 2 dead pixels...any idea if warranty covers dead pixel repairs?
I have one on mine. Samsung has a dead pixel policy, but I'm sure it'll take more than 2 dead pixels to get them to replace your screen. It's 7 dead pixels for a tft lcd, I have no idea what it is for super amoled. I think they all have to be clustered around each other to demonstrate a significant degradation in screen quality too before they'll bother with it.
Also, why not try just calling them up and asking? They're not going to send a crack team of assassins after you merely for asking if your screen qualifies for a replacement.
If you got your cappy in December it definitely shouldn't have any dead pixels. I'd call them up and get that straightened out for sure.
hmm
ill give samsung a call and see..i really dont wanna to replace my cappy..i have no gps or random shutdown issues...it would be awesome if they would just replace the screen...been running stock 2.1..then went to stock 2.2 and then to cog4.1 then to serendipity 5.12 back to stock 2.2 with launcher pro

If you send it back, make sure it's running stock. Don't want to get busted for warranty violations
Try a few apps on the market to fix the dead pixels. Like JScreenFix if I remember correctly... None helped me but I ended up getting a replacement via Amazon Wireless

Those apps are probably for LCD screens.
They make some for Super Amoled.

Found these guys online. They said they do mobile phones as well. I do NOT know these guys nor can I say that they do a good job. I only searched on google and found them.
If you do proceed to having them fix your device, please post updates so others may have a reference to fixing their devices if anyone hard bricked theirs.

Yeah, I was at their website. Saw that they don't offer JTAG service to the Skyrocket (SGH-i727) model. Or else I would've went along with it.

Not know where you are in regards to location/country .. if you got the phone through the correct channels (being AT&T) .. you have a 1 year warranty .. so my suggestion would be to return the phone for repairs.
I had the same issue not to long ago .. I ordered the JIG with no success, took to phone into an AT&T Store, they tried everything .. phone was completely DEAD .. they shipped me out a replacement Skyrocket in which I had 14 days to return the defective one.
Hello, a week ago I was trying to restore my phone back to the stock rom, it is a Samsung Galaxy i727, and now is dead or HardBrick, I´m from Dominican Republic, searching in the internet I found a local Mobile Repair Center offering the Jtag service in just 24 hour my phone is back, their name is ALUMUN, if you are in Dominican Republic they are the best, you can find them in google as ALUMUN
How do I get a refund on my R? Should i just barge in and say, I don't want this phone anymore with all the problems. Gimme my money back!! Btw, I will buy a Sensation or a used S2 with that money. Just tell me am i eligible for the refund? I bought my phone in Dec'11
So you used it for cca half a year and now gonna claim for refund?
Sounds...
Well, I am facing quite a lot of problems. It crashes once everyday, The other day I was giving my exam( was copying answers from my phone xD) and BOOM it crashed..RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES! I also face headphone jack issues, screen issues and Phone heating/battery issues. And i have a ****ty service centre in my area.. Real bad reviews.
So once i give it to get serviced it will take a while to come back.
P.S - What is the time period to get a refund?

To tell you in simple words you won't get a complete refund after using it for like 5 months.
At the most you can request the service center guys to put in a brand new motherboard & be happy if they do that.
I will take it to the service centre tommorow and revert back
And one more thing before I take it to the service centre. I did not fill the warranty card that came with the phone
I just have the bill.
Did you guys fill the warranty card and submit it to your service centre?

I have one insane idea, brick ur phone that way that no one can fix it, not even ssc guys and than claim replcement either they will refund or will give u new sgr which is not possible as sgr has been discontinued.
(Sorry just joking, dnt even think of doing this)
U can sell ur phone if u get great deal they wont give u refund, only will repair or replace parts.

how about use it until the last day of warranty and then request a refund. who know they might humor u and give full refund plus sgs3 as token of apologize

One way of getting a refund is screwing up ur motherboard (dont ask me how, **** happens!) and hoping that the SSC doesnt have any stock. I got my SGR's MB replaced once already and it got screwed again, so I've given it back and they said they hv to replace the motherboard again.
Although Galaxy R is a fantastic device in itself, one part of me hopes that they will gimme refund saying MB is outta stock. And this is mainly due to the step motherly treatment meted out to it by Samsung and relative lack of dev support compared to HTC and other Samsung flagship devices.
I'll know in a couple of days. And maybe u can use this trick.
P.S. My SGR's motherboard got screwed on it own, I did not do it for the refund

I too like my R but I want my hands on the stock ICS ROM (The galaxy nexus one) and the S2 has it
.. when I first saw the stock ICS ROM on my friends S2 I regretted buying R almost immediately. I really hope our R to get some ICS like ROM.
Stock ICS is the sexiest thing that happened to mankind after Amanda Bynes xD

Hi if you don't mind which country are you from ? Are you from India ?
If not then it seems that you don't have any service centers in your country ? Why don't you take it to one ?
It won't help by posting in every thread that your handset has SOD.
My beloved Galaxy R suffered its first casualty last night and I think its a big one.I kept it for charging overnight while it was switched on from 2.30pm to 7 am.In the morning I noticed the phone was in 'deep sleep' mode.I tried force restarting the phone and removing the battery and replacing it just didnt budge.I then skipped work took it to the service centre in Dadar,Mumbai where they were clueless about the model itself let alone the problem. They couldnt diagnose the problem for 20 mins and asked me to carry on and call them in the afternoon. The afternoon call was fruitless and they told me that it would take a couple of days to repair it. Although I have serious doubts about whether my phone would be repaired.
Fingers crossed eitherways, but I am not going down without adequate compensation if the phone cannot be repaired
oh your phone will be repaired, i am sure

Hello skyrockters ,
So my skyrocket , purchased on 4th of May 2012 (2.3.6 UCLA3 from the box, unrooted and all stock) , is heating from time to time while using it ... I had a skyrocket before the current one and it never felt heating like this one ...... It's not heating SO MUCH but non the less I can feel it when using the phone 1-2 min + like when calling or browsing the internet ....
Today I opened the back cover and when I took the SIM card the golden area out it is not uniformly gold as it should , instead a small roundish burn mark on the edge of it (darker than the rest of the SIM) ...
Now the problem I am past the first month of owning the phone , and I think if I would go again to the att store they will start BSing me about contacting Samsung for a solution (being more than a month now for a replacement or refund)...
And by the way , calling quality is not so clear I'm noticing compairing this device to the old skyrocket I had !!! maybe the UCLA3 vs UCKJ2 ???
Have anybody had this issue ? and what to do in your opinion ?
Your help is much aprecaited
Thanks

Thanks for the reply
So should I expect the att store to do something about it ? like replacement (more than 1 month on purchase so out of customer satisfaction) ? or should I contact Samsung ???
All of the skyrockets if bought from att, have a year warranty. Meaning if you have a device support center within a few hours of you, I'd skip the store and take it to them to get a new one. If not, go to the store and they'll help you through the process of calling the warranty people. It'll take about 6 business days for the replacement to get to you.
My phone bricked about a month ago and I drove an hour to a support center. I was in and out in 15 minutes since my phone was completely bricked. They just ended up giving me a new one.

Thanks again , the issue is that I am on straighttalk and the burned SIM is ST SIM ... Would that make a difference ? and the other point is that the issue is intermittent , and the call quality issue is somehow subjective and liable to intentionally "subsidized" by a rep .... you know what I mean when they feel they will loose another device to a customer ...
contract or not, as long as you bought the phone from an AT&T store, you should be under warranty.
considering an article that was on engadget a while back about a skyrocket catching fire in a persons pocket im pretty sure you can get it replaced. Considering that article got a official statement from Samsung about them going to investigate.
it isnt from engadget but its the same thing
