S2e - Samsung Galaxy Fit GT 5670

Hey guys!..need some info and feedbacks regarding s2e app for CM7.
Everything is working fine, but after moving "data" to sd-ext, my phone started giving problems!...After about 5-10 reboots my fit started giving me force closses in every app including "Superuser"!..
I flashed the CM7.2 again, and retried this method but again the same problem!...
I even tried Titanium Backup for moving data but after a few days and reboots it started giving force closes!..tried Darktremor too but sane problem!...
Though other custom Roms based on stock firmwares give no problem!...
Please guys try it on CM (any version) and give ur feedback!..it gives alot of free space as well as performance boost!...
Regards,
NEIL

That market problem can be fixed! ...
Just "uncheck" "download cache"!....ok if ur using darktremor..just run this command in terminal:
su
a2sd datasd
This will move app data to SD..please give ur feedback!...and do a nandroid backup before trying this! .. ...and I don't think it slowers the performance but it will definitely increase ur benchmark results!..

How to configure S2E?

do not move application data to sd if the m-card is slow it will cause force closes
and hiccups in performance even if it is a fast card

well if you want the full use of data2sd by ungaze then the first step is partition your sd card after you do that then i would suggest flashing a your rom fresh and whatever MODs you have after you have flashed all mods and your ROM {please reboot between each MOD} then finally flash ungazes data2sd if you did it right you will have a large performance boost and more space for apps for example i had a 16 gig sd card made 2560 mb partition and now after flashing data2sd i have 1.7 gigs of apps space and a quadrant score of 2300 so if you have questions then PM me

Hi all,
Currently I'm using CM7 and install ungaze data2sd on my phone. I already have ext2 file and my phone shows additional internal memory. I then install apps without any problem and once done, I try to reboot it. However, I found that those apps which installed earlier on were gone. Can anyone help me with this?
Addition, when I check the sd card, I found an d2sd folder and inside it have unknown files named error_0222120031, error_0222120039, error_0222120122 and error_0222120143. Can anyone help me with this?

I disagree ..
My suggestions -
1) use ungaze v5 (not v2)
2) wipe dalvick cache before flashing it..
It doesn't matter whether it's Fresh rom or not..
I have used ungaze with having more than 120mb worth apps previously

Need help in getting rid of force close errors

Seriously annoyed by these errors. I get frequent apps force close errors and system force close. Not able to use my phone smoothly, really frustrated. I did tried all methods before opening a new thread. Here are things which I have done but unsuccessful.
Dalvik Cache Wipe
Data Wipe
Fixing permissions
Restoring apps
Reflashing
Different Kernels
CompCache - Tried all values
RAM Manger app
I am hopeless now. Please can anyone give some solution. I will be gladly happy. I want a smooth phone as well as stable and fast.
My Specs-
Kyrillos V10 ROM
1.3 HV Kernel
About 90 apps on 4 class SD Card using Link2SD (Most of the apps are plugins, themes so they won't consume too much memory)
if you use overclocking try lowering your setup to make the system stable, also some kind of apps (ie launchers) are not supposed to be run on the sd card.
Are you using any data2sd script?
What is fcing?
Edit: an app may be corrupted. Did you restore data from froyo? Or try using titanium to freeze whatever you tink is corrupted, eg Google maps
Cheers

Everything. Not always but frequently which is annoying. I also get this error "Sorry! Process system not responding. Force close, wait"
PS: I am facing this issue since Kryillos FroYo ROM. Moved to CM7 but problem still remains. I have tried different kernels too but all overclock at 800Mhz. Did tried searching for this problem in this forum but all I see is most posts of this error is made by me .

That sounds really bad. Try flashing zerofill.tar. pm rkkoby for it, I believe he has the file. Flash it to wipe your phone clean and flash a rom over it.

i think you should try a clean install, preferably with a stock ROM to see if the problem persists.
clear all app data and cache, format the sdcard, remake sd partition if any, flash an other ROM (best to be non OC just to test it).
A suggestion from my side, format your sd card and then flash the ROM.
I have recently been through this.
It fixed many apps that weren't responding or were not working as they should and the phone was too slow to use.
Wasn't able to open CWM in cm7.
But formating the sdcard cured everything.
Also it won't delete your partition so don't worry about that.
Hope it helps.

Flashing the ROM would format all the apps data. So do I need to format partition too? or I can only install app data through Titanium Backup.
best to repartition, it might be corrupted...
Looks the only option.
BTW can one app (not system app) can corrupt whole system? Just wondering..
as far as i know any writing procedure can corrupt the flash memory, so yes

Should have told that it wipes our data but thankfully I did a backup 2 days ago. Now I have flashed zero fill, I am formatting whole SD card with partition and flashing the ROM again. Now let's see how it goes.
The problem is back. It is when I install/restore apps.
So now I have known that problem is-
not related to any system app (I didn't even restored system apps that time)
not related to number of apps I installed. (I got the message when I had 55 apps installed)
Not related to corrupt partition or SD card
Bit confusing, isn't it?
Anyone?
I also want to know about fix permissions. I believe if you have fixed permissions once then the next time you run it it shouldn't take 10 minutes again because all the permissions were fixed already. It always takes about 10 min whenever I run it whether I have ran before or not.. Can anyone clear about that? because on FroYo, it took only seconds to run.

sd-ext conversion problem

hi,
how could I convert sd-ext from ext4 to fat32 ? I need eclair.
"sd ext fat32" or "mmcblk0p2 fat32" will make sd-ext inaccessible.
So after normal reboot or re-power phone, I see no mmcblk0p2 line at fs.current
I am on g3mod 2.5 OC
any adwise ?
I definitelly CANT reformat SD card or use some linux partitioning tool .I already tried some linux tool recommended at XDA and sd-ext was unusable then.I have 32 GB memory full of data, so I need some quick and non data-loss step :-o
Try using kmapp from the themes and apps forum. Just search fot it, download it, install it and when you get into the app its quite easy to change the partition type..

I know You think he is crazy, BUT :
a) Froyo is garbage of garbages - except JPU, GPS is at ALL ROMs nearly unusable and JPU is crown of unstable garbage, so I cant use ALL features at one ROM
b) CM 7.2a ? looks great, but :
- GPS is useless, if you have no data connection as I have and as I primary need, then I cant use CM7, I simply cant live without only one GPS I have
- bluetooth does not work at all , OK, I can live with that
- wifi is not 100% OK, I cant connect to some AP where I am able connect by froyo to them, I can move on that If I can connect at my home
- camera does not work at all , no barcode possibilty - As camera is ****ty at all, I can live with that
c) CM9 - I tested it at first version possible, where it was really unusable, but TODAY I am testing 4.0.4
- I had to reflash to Eclair, disable PIN and reflash CM9 , it is definitelly not GOOD
- bluetooth can pair, but probably does not work - I can accept it but if USB storage does not work ...
- USB data storage does not work , with combine of bluetooth problem, I cant get data to phone
- Sygic Aura, Navigon (tested 4.0.1 only ) does not works, luckily Ndrive + Copilot works
+ + + + + + GPS looks like working , today at czech rep is very cloudy, so hard to test GPS fix, but offline fixtime can be improved
So at this moment I have to test 4.0.4 and if I will discover some problem make me impossible send SMS, make calls, clock problem , 100% cpu usage with G3MOD kernel 2.5 OC at 1200 MHz like I used at re-odexed JPU, I will have to do what I have to do :
REVERT BACK TO ECLAIR ane NEVER EVER BUY anything from SAMSUNG F******G company they are ****ting on customers ...
but I need link 2SD , and there are no custom ECLAIR kernel with ext2/ext4 support, so I need to find some way how to convert sd-ext to FAT/FAT32 without repartition SD card...

I am a big fan of cronmod's scripts. You can put the script in the init.d folder of the rom's .zip before you flash it, or you can flash one of cronmod's .zips immediately after flashing a ROM (before first boot).
I like them because they are fully automatic. You can install tons of apps, and they get put on your sd-ext without having to link them, or do anything to them. I used link2sd for a long time before I found cronmod's scripts. After a while I still ended up running out of space, and I would have to go back into link2sd to figure out what ELSI I could link.
With cronmod's scripts your internal folders ( like /data or /data/app depending on the script) get automatically mounted to to sd-ext. This effectively adds to your internal storage. I see it as more of a fix, while link2sd is more like a band-aid.

Hi, thankyou for the tips, yes link2sd will not give you infinite space, once you start to have a lot of apps, them continue to write some data (cache, etc.) on your internal memory and this will lead you to fill your internal memory. So in my opinion with a non rooted phone, simple move app to sd is like a band-aid while link2sd on rooted phone is like a powerfull band-aid.
About the script, it will move ALL and let you to install infinite apps? I've readed that these kind of script give you also some stability problem on some apps and also decrease speed of the phone while for now, with link2sd i've no problem at all, I moved also gapps.

Im using cronmod (int2ext+) and I haven't experienced any problems, I guess (haven't tested) they just released a script that will work with 4.2.1 The only app that ive seen with noticeable lag was titanium backup, but other than that its been great
Ive also used link2sd and that works extremely well also.

Obviously, not infinite, but on my ov I have about 180 mb for my data partition. Using the d2ext script with a 2 gb sd-ext partition means that I increase that by literally over 1000%. I have absolutely no stability problems with the scripts. Sometimes a particular rom won't boot with a particular script, but I've always been able to find at least one script that will play nice with any rom I've used.
I really liked link2sd when I started using it, but eventually running out of space again, and constantly having to link apps got old. The script will move ALL of your apps without you having to tell it what to do, and your apps will still "think" they are installed on the phone, so widgets will work fine.
thanks!!!!!
Thanks guys!!!
I m now using int2ext+ by cronmod ....works perfect!!!!
very stable and smooth...:good:

hello guys,
i cant post in Sajito's rom thread as i am a new user.
i really liked his carbon rom which is smooth and fast enough. But only problem i am facing is that i cant move any of my apps to sd card as i cant see any option for moving the app in apps setting because of which i cant install many apps as it eats up internal memory.
i have already tried moving using Titanium backup as well as Apps2SD.
Any help will be useful.

+1 I need help with this myself
For some reason that feature was removed some time ago. To move apps to sd card you need to create an ext4 partition on your sd card for example with 4ext recovery. After that you can move apps to sd card with link2sd, mount2sd or something else.

Compared to Sultans rom i say battery is pretty good.. It lasts longer.. But still not so good as Viper rom.

Sound problem
I am having strange problem in all kitkat roms. When listening to any songs using earphones or headphones, the song gets stuck for a second in between. for eg for 5sec song it should play normally 12345 but for it plays 12 345. Its very irritating wen listening. This happens only on all kitkat roms. Tried viper and its proper in that.
Any solution will be helpful thank you.
