Seriously annoyed by these errors. I get frequent apps force close errors and system force close. Not able to use my phone smoothly, really frustrated. I did tried all methods before opening a new thread. Here are things which I have done but unsuccessful.
Dalvik Cache Wipe
Data Wipe
Fixing permissions
Restoring apps
Reflashing
Different Kernels
CompCache - Tried all values
RAM Manger app
I am hopeless now. Please can anyone give some solution. I will be gladly happy. I want a smooth phone as well as stable and fast.
My Specs-
Kyrillos V10 ROM
1.3 HV Kernel
About 90 apps on 4 class SD Card using Link2SD (Most of the apps are plugins, themes so they won't consume too much memory)
if you use overclocking try lowering your setup to make the system stable, also some kind of apps (ie launchers) are not supposed to be run on the sd card.
Are you using any data2sd script?
What is fcing?
Edit: an app may be corrupted. Did you restore data from froyo? Or try using titanium to freeze whatever you tink is corrupted, eg Google maps

Everything. Not always but frequently which is annoying. I also get this error "Sorry! Process system not responding. Force close, wait"
PS: I am facing this issue since Kryillos FroYo ROM. Moved to CM7 but problem still remains. I have tried different kernels too but all overclock at 800Mhz. Did tried searching for this problem in this forum but all I see is most posts of this error is made by me .

That sounds really bad. Try flashing zerofill.tar. pm rkkoby for it, I believe he has the file. Flash it to wipe your phone clean and flash a rom over it.
Cheers

i think you should try a clean install, preferably with a stock ROM to see if the problem persists.
clear all app data and cache, format the sdcard, remake sd partition if any, flash an other ROM (best to be non OC just to test it).
A suggestion from my side, format your sd card and then flash the ROM.
I have recently been through this.
It fixed many apps that weren't responding or were not working as they should and the phone was too slow to use.
Wasn't able to open CWM in cm7.
But formating the sdcard cured everything.
Also it won't delete your partition so don't worry about that.
Hope it helps.

Flashing the ROM would format all the apps data. So do I need to format partition too? or I can only install app data through Titanium Backup.
best to repartition, it might be corrupted...
Looks the only option.
BTW can one app (not system app) can corrupt whole system? Just wondering..
as far as i know any writing procedure can corrupt the flash memory, so yes

Should have told that it wipes our data but thankfully I did a backup 2 days ago. Now I have flashed zero fill, I am formatting whole SD card with partition and flashing the ROM again. Now let's see how it goes.
The problem is back. It is when I install/restore apps.
So now I have known that problem is-
not related to any system app (I didn't even restored system apps that time)
not related to number of apps I installed. (I got the message when I had 55 apps installed)
Not related to corrupt partition or SD card
Bit confusing, isn't it?
Anyone?
I also want to know about fix permissions. I believe if you have fixed permissions once then the next time you run it it shouldn't take 10 minutes again because all the permissions were fixed already. It always takes about 10 min whenever I run it whether I have ran before or not.. Can anyone clear about that? because on FroYo, it took only seconds to run.

Hello everybody
I have a big problem since 2 weeks with my sdcard / app2ext.
It starts with fjfalcon cyanogen mod but i come back to miui final the last week (for holiday i needed a good camera...) and it s the same.
My problem is that when i want to install or update an app(by the market) it keep saying that i haven t sufficient space...Superuser update by itself (not by the market) and it works
But i have 1Go of ext (at least half empty) and i also have a lot of space in the internal memory (even in my fat32 i have at least 3Go...)
So why i m lacking of space???
I try to wipe dalvik cache but it s the same cause it rebuild it at boot.
But when i go in the cache folder by root explorer i can see that i have 105Mb used and only 300Ko free..
I try to reformat only the ext it still the same i also clear all my sd and start over (but copying back all my apps to the ext part) but nothing change too... I also delete my swap partition cause i never use it but it can t be the problem
Someone have an idea??? I format my sd 3times this week... I don t have anymore idea......
edit i forget to says that i use app2ext with an ext3 part but i try ext4 or ext2 and it s the same
the space the market error is complaining about is the Cache, nothing to do with your physical storage
CM6 is fixed to prevent that bug
sounds like CM7 or MIUI ports the guys are working on has not been tweaked with enough cache for the Download cache for Market

But just to be clear i reinstall others rom many times (4 or 5 times) so i always clear all....
edit: it s the same... My cache is still full (100Mb full 5 M free) after the wipe of the cache
@AllGamer
3Gb free on sd and 50Mb in the internal storage.....

??? And how???????????
I search it but i didn t find anything talking about this in the cm7 thread...
But i install the 18/11 version of your rom and it s the same.
I think the only choice i have is to delete all my sd and start all over... But i can t understand why... The cache is not in the sd!
I would suggest exploring your ext partition and see if you have any duplicates in there. Otherwise, to me it seems like you have a ghost in the machine. I always hate to do this and hate suggesting it, but might be time for a reformat and fresh sbf/flash straight to CM7 and not overlay any other ROM.
Wait a minute. Do you have a cache cleaner app (Cache Cleaner NG is good b/c it removes cache from internal and SDcard - Cachemate is another one)? I am thinking that you might have too much built up cache. Example, you go into your XDA app and check out some threads, screenshots,...that all builds up useless cache. Go into settings>manage apps>your app and clear the cache. I have seen my market hold up to 5mb and my XDA app hold almost 70+mb of cache. I am really thinking that may be the culprit.

Good idea i m gonna try cache cleaner. But i hope i will be able to install it.....
But for the fresh reformat/flash sbf i already did this that s why i don t understand at all.
I reflash sbf. Install a new rom and clear all the cache / Dalvik cache... (all that at least 3 times....)
The only thing i didn t format is the sd card. Indeed i format it, make new fat32 and ext and copy all my old fat 32 and ext data.
I didn t want to loose all my ext apps but i think i don t have the choice now. But i m not even sure that it will solve my problem...
Cache cleaner don t work too...
it succeed to wipe all but nothing change i still have only 4mb left... (by root explorer). And it seems to be the dalvik cache folder which is full
I can t understand how this folder can stay full after a fresh sbf flash a wipe and a new rom....
To me it seems that if you are reformatting and then restoring, you are essentially restoring the problem. Try reinstalling apps with Titanium.

I will have to format my sd and start over from beginning but i still can t understand why i already have a lots more apps so why whit less app i m lacking of space???

Now i havent anymore apps but all works...
But if someone understand why i had this.....
You should be able to restore most apps with TB. Sucks that you had to reformat. So frustrating, I know and have been there myself. Different problem but same result. The dreaded reformat. Maybe sometimes that is just what is needed. Bummer though.

I explain it in the rom's thread but i didn t restore any apps for the moment (i can t install titanium backup...) it s a fresh installation on a fresh sbf and a clear sd (only with an ext part and an app folder in it)
And i can t install any app by the market or with an apk.
On the others thread someone tell me about a Mz tip to make it work by deleting the secure folder on the sd (but i can t too cause i can t install root explorer...)
Too bad the rom seems fast! And so pretty too! Maybe i will try to install another rom to install root explorer on the ext and come back

Market FC may be caused by .android_secure folder on sdcard. You can't delete it directly from the phone, though (you have to use USB). But if you reformatted the FAT partition, the old one shouldn't be there unless you copied/restored it from a backup.

Now i try FJFalcon's cm7 and my market is back.
I m gonna try others ICS rom from J Y Daddy i m afraid to lost text message again with FJfalcon cm7..
While doing a factory reset I noticed a message that said "no app2sd partition found". I've been having weird problems like my launcher resetting itself and superuser won't save the updated binaries list. I'm assuming these problems are directly related to not having an app2sd partition. How do I go about getting that back?
That's because the rom doesn't support app2sd....mine doesn't either
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I997 using xda premium
Does your illuminance rom support the app2sd? I tried another rom, hated it, flashed back to illuminance and now whenever I set up 7launcher or update superuser every restart wipes what I just did. Do you know a workaround?
hello for the first time good sires!
some time ago (2-3 months) i did a kyrillos 9.5 rom installation from my native language android forum but the tutorial said it is based on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=957123 this one (btw i asked for help there but i am sure that people here have much more wisdom). either way.. everything was working fine, no hangups, no freezing no problems. but yesterday i encountered some problem. my opera mini browser couldnt download anything from the net, no pictures no files anything, it just said couldnt download. i thought its weird and i reboot the phone.
but then the phone freezed on the g3mod screen (i use OC version) with the bar loaded and went into constant loop with the boot sound stoping in the middle and repeating and it wont boot (i waited like 20-30minutes). when i remove the sd card and try to boot it again it works perfect (ofcourse no apps due to no sd card inside). i insterted the card and reboot again and the problem with looping sound came back. 2-3 days earlier i encountered similiar problem and the phone wouldnt start, i removed the card boot it, insterted the card, reboot it and it worked fine.
i can enter the cwm recovery with card in no problem. when i tried to backup the sd-ext i got an error saying "couldnt make TAR image of SD-EXT)" and there is only an 200mb backup of sd-ext on my sd card. for additional info i can say i have 4gb card with 2gb sd-ext 128mb swap and 1,6gb fat32. also i can provide a full story how i installed the rom (but i think its a bit overkill?)
is there anyway to recover from this other than full wipe/reset? i dont want to loose all my stuff on the phone. can i somehow copy all the stuff from sd to pc and put it back on? is it the faulty sd-ext partition?
you don't need to reset your phone however you will have to format the sdcard and repartition the sd-ext which means you will lose everything in there.
by the way easiest way that i ve found to recover a corrupted sdcard is to stick it in a digital camera and format it from the camera's menu (note:that will reset your partition).

i was a bit brave/stupid/impatient yesterday night and i did some "things" on my galaxy
i entered the CWM and selected FORMAT SD-EXT from mount&storage option (i think it is called that) thus resulting in formating the sd-ext partition after that i tried to restore the halfbroken image of that partition that was made thru restore and backup menu. it worked but obviously it wasnt the whole sd-ext partition so i expected some errors or that i wont work at all.
to my surprise the phone starts with no problem but there is an error message everytime i unlock the screen. it says that
Google Services Framework application (process com.google.process.gapps) was stopped

and i have to force to close it. i assume that this error occurs cause of the missing apps (not fully complete sd-ext partition). other than tat the phone works fine just missing some apps.
is there some way to fix that or is the wipe still the only option? can i format the sd-ext partition clean and then start installing all the apps on it again (or would it still occure in the mentioned error)? i hate to loose all my settings, passwords accounts and most of all swype dictionary words that i added

Normally you can clear caches and it will work otherwise uninstall the app and reinstall. If you have to uninstall make a data backup first. What it equates to is the app dev didnt put a call in to remove the app prior to installing the new version. Ive run into this with Plague Inc. and Ive sent a bug report to the app dev. I suggest the same for whatever app you are having issues with.
I've tried the whole "clear your caches and fix your permissions" thing, and, at least from what I can tell, you can't install anything through Play/Market unless you have at least ~55 MB of space available (even if you are installing to microSD or replacing a currently installed app). I'm not sure quite where the threshold is, but it is somewhere around there.
I can't answer "Why?" as it is in Google proprietary code and I don't have the source available.
I have tried clearing caches and dalvic.. also reinstalled gapps.. can't get it to work..

Have you cleared data from Google Services Frameworks? That has fixed every market issue I've ever run into. If jeff is saying it's coded to not let you install with under 55mb of space left I believe him though.
I can't be sure it's "coded that way," but I haven't found a way to get Play/Market to install when I get down somewhere below 60 MB free space, including flashing a new ROM, clearing cache, fixing permissions, reinstalling gapps, and probably a few other things I've tried. There are definitely days when I wish someone would prove my theory wrong!
I believe Jeff no doubt but I have 66.1mb available..

If you're husband's phone is rooted then you can always back up his apps and app data with titanium backup or you can make a nandroid backup through cwm that way in case anything goes wrong you have a backup to fall back to

This worked for me, thank you !!
I was having trouble installing UberSocial. I could download and install every other app (smaller and bigger in file size) except for UberSocial.
Tried the Lucky Patcher method and worked like a charm.
BTW, I should mention I have a rooted S3 but found this thread via Google .
The Jelly bean rom takes up a lot internal memory, plus it installs most of the apps from the market to the internal memory instead of SD card. I don't why, maybe the devs can answer this. I had to remove the xbmc app (97mb) in order to install anything else.
Hit the thanks button if it helps. It's my motivator to be more helpful.
I use Titanium to move all data apps to SD, I also use History Eraser before updating apps so that at all times I have over 110MB free on internal mem.

is their is any app/solution to make it stop appearing or even unmounting SD-Card and mounting it again at the start of the device ?
thank you for you help

Make your partition again and a new kernel is available with two partitions..
And flash the oc kernel after setting up..
Change to TWRP recovery..
Just change and tell me..

Create 3 partitions sd main your card for storage.. sd data ( 1gb ) sd cache 100 mb..
You can't create 3 partition through recovery specially cache..
So use mini tool..
Sd main fat32
Sd data ext4/3 1gb or more ..
Sd cache ext4/3 100 mb
Sd data and cache should be same like ext 4 both should be ext 4..
All should be primary partition..

I was happily using the rom for couple a weeks now without any problem when suddenly while updating whatsapp my phone restarted and i started getting the android.process.media has stopped working errors. they started appearing upon opening any app. i finally got rid of it by rebooting after removing my battery [seems to work dont know why] but now i cannot install any new apps as the rom again reboots mid install.
what shud i do?
