First, download Kies Mini to install the USB drivers
http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.c...110715050425343/Kies_Mini_For_Galaxy_S_4G.exe
Download mode:
1) Remove your phone's battery and usb cable.
2) Plug in usb cable to computer
3) put battery back into phone
4) Hold vol + and - and keep holding both of them
5) Plug usb cable.

This is what i have tried.I did uninstall and did everything over.PC doesnt see the phone and when i try to get into download mode i hold both vol buttons down plug usb into phone and the phone just starts up.I must not be holding my tongue right lol.I have never had something like this whip me I dont get it.

Yes that would be an option but shouldnt the pc recognize the phone?

If your phone is rooted, download quickboot from the market. Install it and run it, pick "download". Should let you boot into download mode.

Guess Ill take a break I cant get anything to work.Going to try Super one click on a XP machine see what happen or see if it will recognize the phone.

I was going to suggest what FB last said. Get the Android SDK, install it, run the manager the first time, when prompted for what to download, only select the platform tools. Once done, open a command prompt, CD to C:\Program File (x86)\Android\Android-sdk\platofrm-tools (I think...I'm not on my PC) and type: adb reboot download

I know exactly zero about what yall are talking about but how do i ypass frp om galaxy s4

Sorry, this is not a forum for the Galaxy S4 from 2013. This forum is for the T959V, the Galaxy S 4G, which came out in 2011. Unfortunately Samsung made their names fairly confusing there...

I'm not familiar with how to flash anything unless using ODIN or CWM. I know drhonk's kernels http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194032 have red CWM but I've always used ODIN to get them installed.
What problem are you having with the drivers? Maybe you just need to update/reinstall?
If your phone used to be recognized, try plugging it in to different USB. If not, try another microUSB cable.
The same thing happened to my sister's SGS4G after I flashed Valhalla for her. Her laptop wouldn't recognize it, but my desktop did, so we swapped cables and it worked.
the thing is that the drivers wont install again -_-

What OS & 32 or 64-bit? Did you try to install over the currwnt installation or did you uninstall the broken ones first?

Weird. Which drivers are you installing? I'm wanting to say mine installed with Kies Mini though I could be wrong. You can grab the 64-bit version of the USB drivers here: http://drivers.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownload.php?p=96693&t=4&i=1
Not sure if that's the same ones you are trying to install or not, but may be worth a shot. Another possibility is that the drivers are partially installed. Try this (sorry if I made this seem novice-like, but I just want to try and be clear):
Open a command prompt
type this, followed by Enter: set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
type this, followed by Enter: devmgmt
Once Device Manager opens, click View on the menu bar and select Show Hidden Devices
Expand both "Modems" & Universal Serial Bus controllers" & uninstall anything that has Samsung Android USB Composite Device, Samsung USB Composite Device, Samsung Mobile Device, Samsung Mobile Modem, etc.
Once the devices are gone, maybe reboot (probably not necessary, but why not?) and try the USB driver install again.
Ever have any luck?

phresh. i would uninstall the current drivers. then try running ccleaner to clear out your registry. then reboot. install the 64 bit drivers that are found in the bible. once you install the drivers, reboot again. then try plugging in the phone.
make sure your firewall and antivirus are off when you do this for the first time. as stated above, make sure the usb devices are not installed in device manager.
if it installs, unplug the phone and let it disconnect from the computer and then plug it back in to make sure it was isntalled properly. if it was, put it in download mode and let it install the drivers for that. now you should be good to go.
This worked! haha thanks bro! I wish i had enuff money to send you a gsii so you could help me

1. Try reinstalling to drivers. Also make sure you're using the same USB port as Windows can be funny about it it sometimes.
2. if download mode is being difficult, go download the Android SDK from www.android.com. Install it, run it, and only download the platform tools. When that's done, open a command promt, CD to where the plaform tools installed (either c:\program files\Android\Android-sdk\platform-tools or c:\program files (x86)\Android\Android-sdk\platform-tools ), then issue the command: adb reboot download.
3. I suggest you check the dev section for bhundven's one-click collection. Uses Java and Heimdall vs. ODIN and works easily.

Get it back into download mode, go grab a bhundven's one-click. The one-clicks utilize Heimdall vs. ODIN, which means they use open-source USB drivers instead of the proprietary Samsung drivers. See if that enables the computer to see the phone. If so, flash the one-click
Should I uninstall the samsung drivers prior to using Heimdall's One-Click?

That's a good idea. Some people have reported conflicts between the drivers.
Why would only Odin 1.85 see my phone in USB Debugging and not in download mode? And all other Odin verisions never see my phone, no matter what state it is in... I am at work so I will give the one click another try when I get home. I never thought of uninstalling the Samsung drivers prior to install; however, I did use the one click method to no avail. However, Heimdall's one-click was able to see my device it just kept giving me a driver error. This is so crazy it might just work.

I wish I had a good answer. ODIN's a funny animal. I've been fortunate and not had any problems with it. I am hoping you are correct - maybe it was just a driver conflict. Let me know how it goes.
didn't work...
You could try downloading a terminal app from the market. Open the terminal and type:
reboot download
See if that does it.
***Update***
Okay, so Oneclick was not working at all no matter what I did with the drivers. However, in all my tinkering with it I installed the Samsung Driver, the Open Source one, and some gadget driver as well from oneclick.
Doing this put all these drivers in my computer. Then I went into my Device manager (Win 7) and looked at my USB driver and I uninstalled everything and went to the stock win 7 usb driver. Then I plugged my phone in and my computer began searching for drivers for this device when it decided that it would be a good idea to load all three drivers at once and voila my phone was then showing up on ODIN 1.85.
I then proceeded to flash my phone with a rom, probably the wrong one considering I was coming from 2.3.5 and my phone boot looped and then soft bricked(sorry if I used these term incorrectly, noobin it).
After, some nervous moment of scouring XDA I found the god-send of a post on getting in to download mode, using odin, and flashing stock 2.3.6 - thank you Raver(I believe). When I did this, my phone magically started obeying ODIN like a devout viking and is now running 2.3.6 superbly.
Keeping with my phones newly found viking heritage, I intend to figure out how to properly root it, update the kernal and modem(not sure which one is best), get CWM, and subsequesntly put in Valhalla Black.
Seeing as though this last rendevous with flashing caused me a little scare I may hold off and wait to see what the next big update is (maybe a port ICS variant) and then go with that.
Anyway, thank you Stephen for helping me out with this and to everyone in this post.
Here's some reading for you Tytan,

PS: Unless you wanna brick your phone, do not flash anything that isn't intended for the SGH-T959V Samsung Galaxy S 4G. You're saying you wanna flash a Vibrant ROM. You can, if you want an expensive paperweight. Happy flashing!
2.3.5 may have been for vibrant...yeah I think I got lucky. I did it prior to knowing about xda.

How are you getting into download mode?
There was a post in another thread where the person apparently was using the power menu to get into download mode or maybe the adb command.
Have you tried both the old fashion volume +/- and plug in usb cable? Or the adb command?
Do you have access to another computer? Believe it or not sometimes just changing computers will make the difference.
Weird when I replied there was no posts other than the ones on the first page...oh well glad its working now.

[Q] Very strange brick that needs solving

When you run the one-click it'll prompt you to install the drviers. It then launches a program called Zadig. Under the "Options" menu, ensure you select "List All Devices". Under the drop-down menu you should see a Samsung device.
Also note that your phone needs to be in download mode for all of that to happen/work.

Boot up the phone but not into download mode (if possible).
Plug the phone into the computer via the USB cable
Open a command prompt: Click on Start, Run, type in cmd and press Enter.
Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and press Enter.
Type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.
On the menu bar, click View and select Show hidden devices
Expand USB (might say Universal Serial Bus controllers)
Look for anything like "Samsung Android USB Composite Device", right-click it, and select Uninstall
Once all of those are gone, close the Device Manager and the command prompt
Put the phone back into download mode and try the one-click again.
There are none, but I've always had it be USB Mass Storage Device. Should I uninstall those?
Oh, and I found it in portable devices, and uninstalled it
if they're Samsung USB devices you probably can remove them.

Problem during the root of Samsung Galaxy S2

Hi everyone,
I tried to root my Samsung Galaxy following the guide from xda developers (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1056334).
I forgot to enable the USB debugging mode on the device (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging)
I started ODIN, then my device rebooted. I started SuperOneClick and I received a message saying "device not found".
Then I went to check the guide, and I saw that I forgot to enable the USB debugging mode on the device (Settings -> Applications -> Development -> USB debugging).
Can anyone help me to fix this?
I'm from Portugal. If I wrote anything wrong sorry for my mistake and for any inconvenience.
Thank you for any help.
Not sure if you're just having problems with Odin recognizing your phone or not but the basics are to ensure you have the phones drivers installed and enable usb debugging. Afterwards you make sure your phone gets recognized fully from your computer once plugging it in. If so you start Odin AND THEN plug in your phone with the directions for getting to download mode (removing battery and holding volume button etc) and in Odin it should show a connection on a com port tile. Then you load up your files and send them. If anything I am sure you just may have a problem by not being in download mode?

Get into download mode and go into keis and start a firmware upgrade and initialization. (you will need model number and serial number behind the battery) and go through the process it tells u to. Then you will be back to stock, then try to root from there the proper way.

You could find a stock ROM first (depends on where you bought your phone / country, provider) and flash through Odin. Unplug your phone from your PC > task manager > kill all KIES apps > turn on your phone into download mode > open ODIN > connect phone to PC
Then ODIN should show your phone is connected with a yellow box, depending on what ROM you downloaded you put the needed file in the PDA box (file with the name such as I9100XWLP7_I9100XXLPS_I9100XENLP3_HOME.tar.md5), click START and wait until that box goes from yellow to green. Phone should reboot now. If it gets stuck, get into the recovery mode (Vol UP + home + power) and wipe everything.

Phone should reboot now. If it gets stuck, get into the recovery mode (Vol UP + home + power) and wipe everything.

Computers blind to NS4G. Help?

Hey folks.
I have been trying to get my wife's NS4G back to stock to get the JB OTA. I have downloaded all drivers multiple times on multiple computers (windows). I have tried 3 or 4 different USB cables. I have downloaded pdanet. I have downloaded the JAVA SDK and updated everything about it.
My computers cannot connect to the NS4G.
USB debugging is on. When I try to turn on tether, it tells me USB is not plugged in.
I have been able to restore the stock ROM (2.3.7) via CWM, but now I no longer have a recovery. It is still rooted and unlocked. Rom Manager is installed and it will not download CWM Recovery.
I need some way to get a recovery onto it. CMW or stock.
Does ANYONE have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for all suggestions and particularly to the one that will work.

If you are running Windows 7 hold down the shift key and right click then select open command prompt here. type ADB devices and if your drivers are installed then you will see your serial number. Remember to be in fastboot when you install drivers. then use ADB to reboot bootloader. when in fastboot type "fastboot devices" and you should again see your serial number to know that your drivers are all installed correctly. You need to fastboot flash a new recovery image. Hope that helps

Drivers are installed, as I can see my S3 fine as well as adb getting my serial number. The computer, nor adb, can see my NS4G. I have tried a desktop as well as 2 laptops.
Will be trying Vaelek's idea of wireless adb this evening.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Drivers are NOT installed properly then. Drivers are installed on a per device basis. If your phone doesn't get recognized, then they are not installed.
Chances are your device ID isn't found in the .inf file of the drivers. I know back when I rooted my phone over a year ago I had to manually change the inf file and add my device.
If you start your phone in fastboot mode and plug it in, when you go in device manager you should see an unrecognized device with a yellow question mark. Right click it, then Properties, then Details tab. Give me the information in the Device Instance Path.
Will check this out and post info when I get home tonight. Thanks for the input.

Started phone in fastboot mode. Plugged it in and watched Device Manager. Closed device manager and re-opened it for a good refresh. I get nothing new. No unrecognized device and no Android Device like when I plug in my S3. ADB Wireless wont connect.
OK... I just cleared my sd card and was able to install CWM. One hurdle cleared...
I still need to get stock ROM and recovery. Is there anyway to do this WITHOUT being able to connect via adb?
Thanks again for any input.
