Hey guys,
I bought my Sensation 9 days ago (Black Friday) on a new contract at Target, for $50. Cant turn that down. Anyhow I rooted it, and moments ago i dropped it, with the cord it the phone. The chip in the plug it port is crooked and i cant plug in the phone or charge it. If i go back to Target today do you think they'll replace it for free? I wasnt sure with the whole losing your warrenty with rooted, or if they would even do it. Thanks
Your warrantee for the store should still be valid. They will return it for you and they will return the phone back as defective. But you should get a replacement phone through target.
By the way you should've went to Walmart they give you 100 dollar gift card for any smartphone you get on a new or upgraded contract. And they match the proce of anyone. Besides they have the sensation for 48
Maybe think about that?

ok easy fix kill battery and bring it back tell them you have been busy and you just now getting to it and you see the phone is messed up and wont keep a charge dont draw attion to chip but if they see it tell them thats how you got it may have to fight custumer always right and you want a replace ment not refund so they still get paid
dont worry about root if you kill battery they cant tell or dont know how just put stock rom in
and tmob has a 15day return at store 30days if you call
How did it go you green or what

They won't even ask many questions, just bring it back all packaged up they won't bother to undo it then. Get your money back go to walmart and get that deal over there. Profit

All went well, returned the phone and headed to Walmart, they gave me a sensation for $48 and the gift card!
Thanks everyone

Can you not boot back to hboot volume down and power? As far as the warranty goes HTC just referbs the phone I have never got charged for rooting . Try to boot to hboot screen and the HTC sync drivers can be found on HTC web site

As far as I know it's AT&T who "cares" if you have rooted your phone, I don't think HTC cares.
ATT has never asked if I had rooted my phone they don't have in there terms & conditions they read for exchanges. And I have a friend who works for them and he said that don't care just don't tell them more than they need to know .

I did work for them, and you're correct my friend.
They don't expect you to root it, as most customers never do. If you don't mention it, chances are it will never come up.
I doubt the geniuses in CS would even know how to check...

It all depends on how you ship it in. Yes they make YOU pay for shipping it in. i used UPS ground took about a week... the same day they got the phone they Replaced the motherboard (according to them anyways) and shipped it back out the same day. But they used ground shipping via FedEx.. even though the gal on the phone said expect the phone withen 3-5 Business days after they received the unit. So. yes. about 2 weeks total.
Hey guys. I dropped my sensation and the screen cracked, but is still usable. I'm with t mobile, and was wondering if there's anyway I can get a replacement or something. Does anybody have experience in dealing with this?

Do you have the insurance?
If so, you can pay a small fee to replace it.
If not, find a repair center.

Here's a secret. Add a line on to your account. You don't have to activate it but add insurance on it. Set your phone back to factory settings put your new sim card in and file your claim.
The way T-Mobile works with insurence is by which phone the sim card is in.

Hello guys, my inspire's audio jack is nearly shot. The music is crackly and it stops and skips. I know its not my beats or the cable. I was wondering if i unrooted my inspire and walked into an at&t service center if they would replace it with a refurb. I bought it the month it came out and i have no insurance on it. Any thoughts?

I don't think most stores carry the refurbs. You would have to call ATT support for that. But as long as the phone does not look physically abused on the outside I would say you stand a good chance getting it exchanged. What have you got to lose?

At&t has service centers.... That's where I'd go. But would they take it rooted?

No, they will not take it w/modified firmware.

So if I unroot it i will be fine? If so can someone point me to an unrooting guide?
You have to install an unrooted stock ROM and return the phone to s-on. Advanced Ace Hack Kit will do what you want.

Nice thanks.
The past three times I've had phones replaced, I've called ATT. They send you a replacement phone in 2-3 days and you have 2 weeks to send back your old one. I've never been to a service center, because I don't want to give them an opportunity to reject my phone on the spot (in case of scratches or scuffs, etc).

So after 3 weeks of having an Amaze that went sour (that turned out to have a fraudulent IMEI) I'm back to the Sensation. Didn't realize how much I miss this phone!
BTW - The Amaze I had got a little dust under the screen. Not a lot, but like 2 particles. Just saying so because everyone has said the Amaze is dust-free.
Also the Sensation forums are just, well, nicer. Glad to be back. Feels like home.
welcome back to the club dude
Glad to have you back

whats a fradulent imei?
I bought what I thought was a good/new Amaze off eBay. Worked fine for 3 weeks then refused to get a signal. After talking to T-Mobile support they determined that the IMEI on the Amaze was blacklisted due to a report of that being stolen. So they had turned that phone off from getting a signal. I emailed the seller on eBay and right away he told he would refund me the money and I'd send him back the Amaze.
Lesson learned.

Good thing that the seller refunded your money.

Yeah, thankfully I would have eBay and PayPal on my side also if needed.
But truly I'm just glad to be back to a phone where development and the community thrives as well.

So you sent it back to him? Why wouldn't tmobile try to get it back to it's rightful owner.

T-Mobile just told me to try to contact the person I bought it from to try to get my money back. They showed no interest in trying to get it back to the original owner.

Dammit!!! I cracked my screen tonight.
Am gonna try and get it repaired under warranty but need a little guidance reverting back to stock Vodafone Australia ROM.
So far I have a nandroid copy of my original stock Rom (Gingerbread 2.3.5) and have downloaded the required firmware from Kohr's thread.
What I want to know is: if i restore my stock rom and flash the firmware,
can I then follow viper's thread to get s- on...etc...?
Or do I have to find the stock RUU and install that instead?

Stock RUU will be hard to find, no? (Considering that it's branded)
Please wait for a senior member to guide you though. I'm not absolutely sure about how you can go back to stock.
And how exactly did the screen crack? Gorilla glass is pretty strong! :O
You wont get physical damage fixed under warranty. It's a warranty, not insurance.

Sorry.. its insurance I have. I pay $10 extra a month that covers any self damage...
I have a 18 month old that was pretty heavy handed with his toys and my phone..

Since this is an insurance issue not a warranty issue tell ins you lost phone NOT STOLEN. This will allow you to keep your phone for spare parts and you won't have to worry about going back to stock. It sucks when you break your phone and they want you to pay a deductible and return your old phone. Keep it easy en if you don't need spare parts someone does

You also can fix it yourself if you don't want to do a insurance claim, just a option.

Yeah my only problem with this is that I lost my phone in January and had it replaced through insurance that cost me 260.. I can't afford to pay that again right now and am pretty sure replacing the screen will be cheaper.
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA
Dam I could of got two phones for that price with tmobile and ins is only 8 bucks a month for insurance. Ok if you are going to buy a screen I would suggest buying the lcd screen as well they are very delicate. I replaced a digitizer in a G2 and was super careful and still lcd got messed up. At worst you will have an extra lcd screen. My wife ran her sensation over with her car looked horrible but was still fully functional. Don't know how bad your cracked is but maybe you can just deal with the cracked until your next upgrade

I dropped my XE and cracked the USB-input and it went under warranty
The crack is on the top right corner and the phone is still functional.. but I don't know of I can hold out till my upgrade in 6 months!! It's already annoying me..hmmm.. what to do?
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using XDA
maybe give it a go at replacing it yourself. Espically if its really bothering you, if you feel comfortable doing things like that. If you don't feel comfortable changing it yourself, for sure use
Insurance to fix it! Hope this helps . Good luck either way! Hope you get it fixed soon.
