[APP][2.1+] Flashlight Advance - Android Apps and Games

While I started this app with the thought of making a somewhat better flashlight app, it got turned into a more of a light and color tool. While it does contain useful tools like flashlight, Morse code converter, it also has modes that allow you to enhance the atmosphere and mood, using lights and colors, like the Ambiance mode.
If you have any suggestions or ideas of new features related to the use of light and color, that you think would be a good idea to add to this app, please let me know! Each and every one is appreciated.
Also if you have any constructive criticism, or if you find some issues with on your device, don't hesitate to leave a comment describing them as detailed as possible, so I can fix them quickly!
Below you can find more details, from the Android Market description.
Turn your phone into the Swiss Army Knife of flashlights. With Flashlight Advance, you can use your phone's display and/or camera flash in a myriad of ways. From lighting your way around a dark area, to communicating through light signals, to simply relaxing.
Features:
- Use your phone's or tablet's camera flash, on supported devices, to get a very powerful flashlight.
- Choose what you want to use! For a powerful light, you can turn on the camera flash, but when you don't need that much power, when reading a book for example, or want to conserve battery, just use the screen.
- Choose your own brightness and color for the screen flashlight, to customize it exactly as you need.
- The Morse Code converter allows easy silent communication at a distance. Just type your message and use the screen, or the camera flash, to send your message in Morse Code to your buddy.
- The Morse Code converter also features vibration feedback, a known technique which allows you feel the code as well as see it, and learn it much faster.
- In the mood for a party, but don't feel like going out? Call your friends over, turn on the music, turn off the lights, and start Flashlight Advance's Strobe Generator! Now you're ready to party all night! Adjust the frequency of the strobe light just the way you like it, and you'll be feeling just like in your own private disco!
- NEW! Scene mode allows you to set the mood you want! Containing a variety of scenes, from utility scenes like Police Lights, to mood scenes like Fireplace or Christmas Lights, the Scenes mode is your toolbox for creating, maintaining, or enhancing the atmosphere. The scene mode system allows for faster development times for new scenes, so stay tuned, new scenes will be constantly added!
Available scenes:
Ambiance mode - Want to make your evening with that special someone, even more special? Is your toddler restless and unable to sleep in the dark? Or maybe you just want to sit in your bed and relax? Just turn on Ambiance mode! The romantic atmosphere will be even more romantic, your relaxation will get deeper, and your toddler will become fascinated with the colors!
Christmas Lights - Need to add a bit of Christmas spirit in the room, but don't want to wait until you get the Christmas tree? No problem! Just select the Christmas Lights scene, and enjoy the mood given by the blinking lights in your Christmas tree. Turn on the Christmas Lights scene, choose your preferences, and let yourself be taken back to Christmas' past!
Fireplace - There is a certain atmosphere that only a fireplace can make. For example it can turn a cold, gloomy day or night, with no power, into a wondrous romantic moment taken from the pages of a fairy tale. If you don't have a real fireplace, however, the next best thing is a virtual one! Select the Fireplace scene, place your phone or tablet somewhere visible, and let yourself be drawn in the magic of now!
Police Lights - An effective means to signal something fast, and from a distance, for example your car or bike on the road. Or use it to fool your friends by placing the phone before the curtains and announcing the police have arrived!
Flashlight Advance is not just a flashlight, it's light multi-tool. Light and color are a powerful thing. They help us get around, read, and even change our mood! There are many more features to come, so stay tuned!

[Live Wallpaper] Doom Live Wallpaper

I was inspired by the Mario live wallpaper on these forums to make something similar using the Doom sprites. I released it as a beta last week and have been constantly updating it as often as I can.
Features:
- Tapping the screen will drop a random powerup after a 5 second countdown (can be disabled in options)
- Powerups are: Medikit, Armor, Shotgun, Chaingun, Rocket Launcher, Plasma Rifle, BFG 9000
- Dragging and dropping one of your homescreen icons will spawn a random demon for the doomguy to fight (can be disabled in options)
- Enemies spawn in pre-programmed waves starting off with a small number of easy enemies and building up to large numbers of tougher demons
- Waves can be completely randomized in the options
- Maximum monsters in the random waves is adjustable from 1-25 (setting to 1 means always single monster in each wave, setting to 25 means random number of monsters between 1 and 25 will spawn)
- Adjustable animation speed and sprite size
- Statistics screen in the settings that shows number of kills, number of deaths and number of powerups collected by the doomguy
- 4 different image backgrounds will cycle. Options allow to choose your favourite and not show the others, or disable backgrounds completely which can improve performance and reduce battery drain.
- Create a sequence of custom backgrounds from images in your gallery.
- Currently features the following characters

- Game mode allows you to "play" the wallpaper full screen with visible health and armor and high scores.
The response has been very positive so far, it was even mentioned on the xda-developers blog, pocketnow.com and engadget.
It's free, but does contain an admob ad in the settings (same as mario live wallpaper). - This is why it requires internet permission.
I'm loving it. Great job man.
Absolutely fun to watch.
Perhaps deaths/max kills per life/current kills counter would be fun

Yeah I've been thinking about adding a sort of game mode where you have more control over his movements and you can see his health + ammo. But I don't have much time to spend developing it at the moment.
I'm currently working on improving the AI so the monsters can fight each other like they do in the original Doom.
Awesome! Thanks for your work!
Awesome even on slow processors (msm7xxx)
u rule man !!
Nice 1 Thanks
Sweet, keep updating please
Sick! I hate using live wallpapers because of battery usage but I love Doom so much this is well worth it
Soo awesome!
it is possible to add a settings to keep on one 'screen'.
i hate it when i can't see him shooting imps when i'm on a different screen
nube question
Hey I'm new to the Droid experience. What do you mean by scan the barcode? Is there an app for doing that?
Thanks.

Barcode scanner in the market or if you appbrain
Good job, working well on my SGS, would be nice if you could choose an image from your gallery for the background.
Sh!t dude, love it!
AI for a wallpaper hehehe, what's the world coming too
This is really good thanks.
Just wondering though, that a boot animation like this with the android robot instead of the marine would be interesting. Anyone seen anything like that anywhere?
Sent from my HTC Magic using XDA App
The only thing I can really think of is adding the BFG (along with the ability to switch doomguys weapons), more enemies, and definitely the ability to choose which color doomguy you want.
Looks great and all but why does it note that it needs "Network Communication" under the "Permissions"?

[GAME][2.2+] Falldown Unlimited

FALLDOWN UNLIMITED
Hi this game is very simple.
The rules: You need to control the cube, using your accelerometer, and let the cube "falling down" through moving platforms holes. You need to stay alive as more, as you can.
Game was maked on Unity 3D engine.
Controls: Tilt device to move the cube. Touch the screen to boost speed.
And now the main thing: I need to know, how it run on armv6/armv7 devices with resolutions from 800x480 to 1280x800. And how accelerator working in game on all devices (excluding GalaxyTab P1000 coz i tested it.). I want to make balance between cube speed and game difficulty - that why i'm asking you to test it and say your opinion. Game is free.
THANK FOR YOUR FEEDBACK!

Increase the speed of the game a little bit, add a options menu mayb? To set the speed to normal, medium, or fast.
Add certain power ups to change the color of the blocks to another color, and add a legend explaining what each power up does.
Small update and fixes.(new version in market).
Plans to do:
options menu with accelerometer setup and difficulty level tuning.
Bonus pickups remake.
(thanks to tarroyo)
Update v. 1.0.5
(some visual tweaks)
In development:
Accelerometer settings menu, difficulty level menu.
I like it, but it is quite annoying that it does not acquire a wakelock, and the screen dims and turns off...
(EDIT: Tried it on my GTab 10.1)
Hmm, interesting game but floors raise up too fast while I'm stuck at a REALLY slow pace trying to get to the hole no matter how much I tilt my phone. Maybe different colour options and difficulty levels for noobs like me?
But super smooth at the same time running with HTC Desire on sandvold's ICS.
Really looking forward to seeing what develops into though, and I'm sure that many hours will be spent on this. Great work
It's a pretty cool game; reminds me of the old falldown game I played on my TI-84 calculator.
I'm running a Samsung Galaxy S2 sgh-i777 with AOKP 4.0.4
Couple things that bothered me or I'd change.
It didn't prevent screen timeout (30 seconds on my phone).
I would like options to start at higher speeds.
Maybe a menu to turn off sound?
I do like the option to speed up gameplay when I hold-tap the screen.
Maybe add the ability to change the block colors or incorporate the color change into the gameplay somehow?
Google play is saying I can't download it! Any help? I'm on 2.3.5 as well!
Sony Xperia neo
MIUI V4 (4.0.3), OC to 1,4 GHz
Quallcom MSM8255 Snapdragon (ArmV7?)
854x480
Game works fine, but it's way to fast for me. The block slide too slow across the surface. I could have made it, but the block slide way too slowly to the holes. Wasn't able to pass more than 2 'walls'.
HTC Desire CM7 480x800 armv7
game runs perfectly, very addictive
would like an option to turn off sound, change sensitivity of the accelerometer
the feature touch to increase speed is a good feature only figured it out from frustration though because it was so slow I tapped the screen.
only went down a few levels so you may already do this, but would be a good idea to increase the speed as you go down the levels
initial loading takes a long time tho
edit
sometimes blocks stay white on levels you've already left making it difficult to see underneath. seems to be when your moving the block and it hits a square on the way through a hole
ads should only be on start menu and pause menu, on the game it's too intrusive
game should be able to keep screen awake because it's a game where you barely touch the screen so it is an issue
Great game!
Few suggestions/comments;
1) i get the occasional microlags (running a Galaxy S i9000) (and my phone can play high end games no problem so i'm guessing it's the game. - They're very occasional and it's not really an issue, but you might wanna improve this.
2) Can you set it so the screen doesn't turn off when playing when not touching the screen. I have screen off to 30s and if i dont touch the screen for that time, screen turns off, i turn it back on and i usually lose a life!
3) Add ability to turn music off. It get's a little annoying, especially if i was going to listen to music and play this.
I just thought you might like some feedback to help improve the game, And don't think im just complaining, this is a very simple and addicting game! Hats off to you sir!
the ad blocks almost the entire screen... unplayable.. as of yet

same for me
Hi
On my Motorola Milestone (ARM Cortex A8) it is a bit slow. The phone has a limited RAM memory so it may also affect the game speed. And I will have to once again load the sw for speeding up the MicroSD card operations.
It is true that the screen went off after timeout was over.
I would prefer some options as well like switching off the music etc. - it is nice but certainly not suitable for midnight playing in the bedroom

First of all - THANKS FOR FEEDBACK!
I try to implement all your ideas in game. As about ads - I think to remove 300x250 banner from game, and 300x50 banner will popup only in loading screen. I add game speed option ( u can set initial speed of the game). And i will add sound on/off option. As for accel settings - i'm on the way, but it a little harder, that i though...
One more thing; highscores!
i'm getting impressively good but it forgets my hard work when i close the app!
That said i probably should do some actual hard work
Give us an option for calibration? Personally, I prefer for my screen to be calibrated back from a perfect 90 degree face-up. Super monkey ball for android does a great job with this positioning, in addition to moving around within levels.
Also, the cube moves too slow! I could play for hours if there was an option to speed it up.

[GAME][2.2+] Aqua Balls, great little game

Hello fellow XDA folks! I'm happy to announce that my brother and I have just published our first game on Google play. We aren't a real company, we made this in our spare time after work. So just about as indie developer as you can get.
Aqua Balls is a portrait-mode tilting super fill-up game. It's simple but we think it's polished. You press and hold to grow the Aqua Balls, and the goal is to fill up the screen with them. Angry Balls pop your Aqua Balls as they are growing, but once they are complete they become invulnerable. There's a few worlds right now with different game mechanics but we will add more as we think of ideas. We think it's a lot of fun and pretty decent looking.
This is a free ad-supported game and I promise, no malware or airpush.
Download link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.woggle.aquaballs
Description:
Help the Aqua Balls expand and defend the seafloor!
The Aqua Balls are under attack by Angry Balls! Expand Aqua Balls to fill the screen by pressing and holding on the screen. Tilt your device to shift things around, trap the Angry Balls in small places, and help the Aqua Balls defend the seafloor! Fill the screen at least two thirds full with Aqua Balls to win. There are multiple areas to play in with different game rules for each area, and 12 levels per area. Challenge yourself to get 4 stars on every level in every area!
Aqua Balls is a portrait-mode puzzle game based on Super Fill-Up.

I personally have played this for hours (I'm the OP's brother - helped develop it), and I still find it to be entertaining. I hope that somebody here will enjoy it too! Give us a shout if you have any comments!
We just updated to 1.0.2!
- Added cloud backup (Google Cloud Storage) of savegame data
- Added facebook integration (more to come)
- Added a level number display at the beginning of each level
- Some bugfixes to background animations in world 2
Anybody have a chance to give it a try yet?
I installed this and played it for a while. I can tell that you guys really put a lot of effort into polishing it, I'm impressed. Of the games that I've seen forum-spammed lately, this is one of my favorites (I think I'll be leaving it installed). I think I might play this quite a bit. I have a few comments:
* You should add a QR download code to your first post
* I see (via addons detector) that you're only using AndEngine, AdMob, NDK, and Analytics so I'm happy to say that it looks like your game is clean there
* Everything is nice and snappy. How do you avoid having a delay while you load the levels? It feels instantaneous.
* You should add a video to your play store page
* Your credits dialog is a little ugly, but I guess that's not really that important (everything else looks great)
How are you rendering the "light rays" in the background? Do they use shaders?
Good work guys!

Hey slurmee, thanks for the comments. We pre-load the assets for the whole game at startup, that's why it feels so snappy. As far as the light rays, they're just a translucent sprite that we sweep over the background, we initially experimented with shaders, but found the sprite method to be simpler and just as effective.
My brother's been too busy to add a QR code to the top post, so here's one you can use for now:

[APP][2.2+] Exotic Colors v1.0

If you need a reliable mobile adviser in any argument about colors...

Exotic Colors is a one of a kind application. First of all, it is a catalogue of over 700 named colors (e.g. Terra cotta, Beaver, Atomic tangerine). Also, it is a handy mobile “picker” – if you need to determine a color right here right now – just take a photo and analyze the color.
Use Exotic Colors to:
- learn new color names that you never imagined before
- analyze colors: determine names, convert to HSV, RGB, CMYK, XYZ etc. systems, see complementary, triadic colors, and much more
- save colors and create palettes
- share your palettes with friends/colleagues/customers via social networks, e-mail etc.
Requires Android: 2.2+
Size: 2.0 Mb
Supported languages: English & Russian
Available via Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anovoxer.exoticcolors
We appreciate your opinion for it will help us improve, so please do not hesitate to comment on our app!
As a photographer and web designer I'm liking the sound of this app. Especially since it can help identify and correlate colors into complementary etc, which is extremely helpful in designing layouts and schemes.
I'll check it out and rate it ASAP Just wanted to post since no responses yet, but looks nice!
Thank you! Hope you'll like it even more after you've tried it
I like it, its UI might could use some polish but it was intuitive enough first thing for me, and I'm not great at GUIs so not sure what to suggest. But intuitive enough to not be a big deal.
I pointed it around the office a bit, and while of course we're at the mercy of our camera for taking shots, the ability to load an image and analyze it is great. I'd most likely use it in that mode anyway since I don't really trust cameras on phones/tablets.
One suggestion.. Can you leave the pointer in the same place when scrolling an image, so one can use that to scroll an image to that spot? Tapping to move it is good, I like that. But if I've already set a spot and want to just move it a little bit, it'd be nice to be able to just scroll the image a little to that spot.
No functional issues, but some drawing issues. Nexus 7, haven't tried it on my phone. So all the info is there, but it's not quite drawn in the right place.
Thank you for the detailed feedback!
We will consider your suggestion about locking the picker in place :good: and then this drawing issue you highlighted (strange though that it draws like this, should have been fine... Anyway, thanks, we will try to fix it ).
Very nice very handy

Laboratory
I like this app a lot, one of the things though that caught was the Laboratory. The one thing I would personally suggest here is have it so that you can put your finger on the screen and drag the cursor around as well as tap to position it without moving the color pattern around the screen.
Very well done app, I've only got one other that comes close to this and that's the myPantone. Keep up the great work!
There are multiple times when I wished there was an app like this and now I'm so glad there is. Thanks so much!
Handy. Thanks
This app is beyond awesome! Good work! How do you share the saved colors?
Useful, thanks.
Minor issues, if you're interested:
1. does not cooperate with "Camera Zoom FX" (camera replacement app). App does not return after taking the photo. The app can do that, it works with Google Keep.
2. On the start screen, the two small square buttons are slightly stretched horizontally, and the right edge does not align with the other buttons.
Tested on four Xperia Rays (a specialty: the Ray reports a 480x854 240dpi screen, but it is really 300dpi).
Layout is ok on stock GB. It is stretched on stock ICS and two CM10 roms
3. At first try, I was panning the photo, expecting that the fixed crosshair would be the color picker. I would actually prefer it that way, because panning is more precise than tapping with my fingers
a bit confused, before i install this, i have a question:
if i take a picture, then open the app, will it be able to automatically tell me the color of the thing in the picture, or will i have to manually search for it?
Is the background of the color picker supposed to move around? Doesn't feel right.
And, please add a lighten/darken color button or slider in the Laboratory.

[App] Flashlight with lots of layouts and interesting gadgets for the party or trip

In two weeks following the publication on Google Play, after some patches and the addition of new layouts, I decided to show you my app. It was tested on the latest and most popular phones, but please do report your comments when something doesn't work.

The application is primarily a functional flashlight on your phone. It allows you to use the flash (LED) or the phone screen as a bright light to illuminate your way in the woods, basement or other dark places. The greatest advantage of this application is a multitude of additional features:
- Strobe music - works to the beat of your favorite music, an indispensable gadget for every event
- Strobe II - allows you to change the lamp switching frequency
- Widget - flashlight can quickly and easily run directly from the phone screen without unnecessary clicking
- Change skins - graphics tailored to your tastes, there is a little something for everyone, to choose from: steel gray, candy brocade, army style
- Police roof light - screen imitating the police roof light
- Morse code - allows you to transmit and receive coded messages in Morse code
- Color screen - you can set any color of the glowing screen and do a romantic mood in your room
- Sleep Timer - you can set the time after which the flashlight is switched off
- Touch switch - the light is active while you hold the button
What do you think about layouts? Do you like them?
I've added a translation into Japanese and Korean. It was done by befriended students, but if there are errors then please just let me know.

I agree. I'd really like to see some music visualisations automatically synchronizing with music beat. I'm searching for an app with that capabilities. I think it should be quite easy to do, it seems that hard part (beat detection) already exists.
