Exotic Colors is a one of a kind application. First of all, it is a catalogue of over 700 named colors (e.g. Terra cotta, Beaver, Atomic tangerine). Also, it is a handy mobile “picker” – if you need to determine a color right here right now – just take a photo and analyze the color.
Use Exotic Colors to:
- learn new color names that you never imagined before
- analyze colors: determine names, convert to HSV, RGB, CMYK, XYZ etc. systems, see complementary, triadic colors, and much more
- save colors and create palettes
- share your palettes with friends/colleagues/customers via social networks, e-mail etc.
Requires Android: 2.2+
Size: 2.0 Mb
Supported languages: English & Russian
Available via Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.anovoxer.exoticcolors
We appreciate your opinion for it will help us improve, so please do not hesitate to comment on our app!

As a photographer and web designer I'm liking the sound of this app. Especially since it can help identify and correlate colors into complementary etc, which is extremely helpful in designing layouts and schemes.
I'll check it out and rate it ASAP Just wanted to post since no responses yet, but looks nice!

Thank you! Hope you'll like it even more after you've tried it

I like it, its UI might could use some polish but it was intuitive enough first thing for me, and I'm not great at GUIs so not sure what to suggest. But intuitive enough to not be a big deal.
I pointed it around the office a bit, and while of course we're at the mercy of our camera for taking shots, the ability to load an image and analyze it is great. I'd most likely use it in that mode anyway since I don't really trust cameras on phones/tablets.
One suggestion.. Can you leave the pointer in the same place when scrolling an image, so one can use that to scroll an image to that spot? Tapping to move it is good, I like that. But if I've already set a spot and want to just move it a little bit, it'd be nice to be able to just scroll the image a little to that spot.
No functional issues, but some drawing issues. Nexus 7, haven't tried it on my phone. So all the info is there, but it's not quite drawn in the right place.

Thank you for the detailed feedback!
We will consider your suggestion about locking the picker in place :good: and then this drawing issue you highlighted (strange though that it draws like this, should have been fine... Anyway, thanks, we will try to fix it ).

Very nice very handy
s2 rootbox

How to say otherwise: amazing! thank you

Great app. As a lighting designer,I'm always dealing with clients that want "this color here". This should make it much easier. Thank you.

Nice app! My gf will be happy

Laboratory
I like this app a lot, one of the things though that caught was the Laboratory. The one thing I would personally suggest here is have it so that you can put your finger on the screen and drag the cursor around as well as tap to position it without moving the color pattern around the screen.
Very well done app, I've only got one other that comes close to this and that's the myPantone. Keep up the great work!

There are multiple times when I wished there was an app like this and now I'm so glad there is. Thanks so much!

Handy. Thanks

This app is beyond awesome! Good work! How do you share the saved colors?

Useful, thanks.
Minor issues, if you're interested:
1. does not cooperate with "Camera Zoom FX" (camera replacement app). App does not return after taking the photo. The app can do that, it works with Google Keep.
2. On the start screen, the two small square buttons are slightly stretched horizontally, and the right edge does not align with the other buttons.
Tested on four Xperia Rays (a specialty: the Ray reports a 480x854 240dpi screen, but it is really 300dpi).
Layout is ok on stock GB. It is stretched on stock ICS and two CM10 roms
3. At first try, I was panning the photo, expecting that the fixed crosshair would be the color picker. I would actually prefer it that way, because panning is more precise than tapping with my fingers

a bit confused, before i install this, i have a question:
if i take a picture, then open the app, will it be able to automatically tell me the color of the thing in the picture, or will i have to manually search for it?

Is the background of the color picker supposed to move around? Doesn't feel right.
And, please add a lighten/darken color button or slider in the Laboratory.

Updated and nicer
I once had an idea for this app, so i started learning Java to make it happen.
I had a need to keep important information from my clipboard at the front of my attention (e.g text message, email etc) so I added some features and the result is NClip

Suggestions
This is a great great app and a really good idea.. but I wanna give you some suggestions. The GUI is messy and doesn't properly use space.
On the very top is the Clipboard entry area (this should be at the bottom as its not usually used) it occupies immediately 1/2 of the screen with a large area that is totally wasted. Then, if there are contents on the clipboard they are not displayed nicely in the window (really ugly).
Then because of large unused area for the clipboard, now the Custom entry are is hidden when the keyboard is pulled-up (which by the way should pop-up immediately and it doesn't). Then if I want to add an icon, that menu selection is at the very bottom, so I have to close the keyboard to get there and, that menu doesn't have icon previews, just bullets (it needs icon previews as like the PICK ICON menu item). Finally the NOTE CUSTOM MESSAGE is at the very bottom (worse place), needs to be at the top.
All this makes a single entry an endless effort of way too many clicks to get anything done. I'm on a 7" Galaxy Tab. Look at the screenshots and get inspired
Finally, for this app to make ANY SENSE, it needs to be AS EASY TO ACCESS AS THE NOTES IT CREATES!!!!!!!!!! So, make it run as a hidden notification so it can be pulled down from the taskbar and activated (like the app Clipper - Clipboard manager for example.. you can check it out on the market if you are not sure what I mean)
Really nice app though. I want to love it.. you just need to make it right now
I've already added some features to the program, including the short cut you suggested, just my keystore is 100+ miles away on my desktop so I cant yet publish the update (its been sitting around for over a month).
I have also updated the gui, it shows only what is relevant at a given moment and keyboard no longer poses an issue on my nexus s, literally the app has everything you want (its just not published), i'm working on it

havok123, thanks for the feedback, this is great news! I didn't mean at all to be harsh or overly criticizing.. think your app is truly fantastic and therefor I just would like it you to get it perfect! I'm happy you decided to learn Java just to program this... totally worth it!
When you have an update for the or if you want me to help you beta test/trouble shoot an updated version, post the info here on the thread or PM me. Id love to help you if I can.
Keep up the great work and when its perfect make a paid version. It will be worth it and I think many people would buy it. You can definitely count me in and your work should be rewarded!
Just uploaded update finally.
Updated to 3.0

What's in this version:

Edit notifications on click
Updated GUI
Bug fixes
Great update, interface much more workable & cleaner.
One suggestion that immediately comes 2mind is, get rid of the sticky app icon that shows up on taskbar when selecting the enable shortcut option. No ned & cluttery. IfU add a note without chooding custom icon, now there are DOUBLE app icons on the taskbar being displayed one of which is NOT a note.. very confusing and unecessary.
If the enable shortcut opion is chosen, we know its there in the pulldown menu already, thats enough &keeps taskbar cleaner for actual notifications only
going to get on it over christmas break xD

Announcing the release of the first application to be part of my Windows Phone 7 User Interface for Android: Windows Phone 7 Calculator. As such it is freely available on the Android Market. This is the first public beta, so expect bugs. Your feedback is highly valued so if you wish to suggest another application for development, inform me of bugs, etc. please do so. Below is the Market description:
--
Inspired by the beauty and simplicity of the Metro User Interface, Windows Phone 7 Calculator offers an easy to use, effective alternative to the default Android calculator application. This calculator includes all basic operations (multiplication, division, subtraction, and addition) as well as advanced operations (sine, cosine, tangent, logarithms, exponentials) and more.
In the portrait orientation basic operations are displayed; in the landscape orientation advanced operations are displayed. The memory function saves a number and the preferred trigonometric mode (degree, radian, or gradian) even after the device is rebooted.
Press the menu button to be given the option to choose the preferred accent color, which will display using the fly out animation.
--
This calculator is the simplest demonstration of my Windows Phone 7 User Interface for Android. Please head over to the donate version if you would like to support development. By donating or giving a good rating on the Market I know if I am doing a good job.
Thank you for reading,

Great app and the transition is nice. Few basic things which I would like to see in WP7 Calculator:
1. I like it when the phone vibrates when any button is pressed, like when I press the menu button for changing settings.
2. Also, the settings button should change its color when I touch it.
3. When I choose a new accent, please take me back to the calculator interface immediately.
4. Give it a good icon please, the current one doesn't look good. Give it a metro icon.
5. History of performed calculations? I miss it as compared to stock calculator.
Rest is wonderful!
Cool, thanks for the suggestions.
1, 5) I will consider these. I'd prefer not to have an entire settings page just to enable/ disable vibrations. As for history, while I haven't used a Windows Phone 7 phone to verify, from what I've heard I do not believe that it a feature of the app. If so it should not be too hard to do, but I cannot figure out how the AOSP calculator stores history.
4) Where do you suggest I get a better icon? I am using the one from the Metrostation set. I am not much of a graphic designer, so making my own would only be worse.
2, 3) I just updated my UI framework to support these features, and implemented them into my calculator. In my next release I will include these.
- Tom
May I suggest name it something other than "Windows Phone 7 Calculator" so microsoft doesn't send you a cease and desist letter.
Well I've published the previous #2 and #3 updates to the Market, go ahead and check it out.
As far as a name goes, if anyone has any suggestions feel free to let me know; I not sure what to call it. However a C&D from MS is too far fetched, worst case I change the name (are they going to say that they patented the standard layout of a calculator, or rectangles with solid colors?).
If anybody has suggestions for an icon, a name, or perhaps a way to get the project more publicity it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
- Tom
Good Start for a Metro like ecosystem on Android
Thanks for this calculator... It is well done and joins the list of my other Metro like apps ...
Since you are looking for a new name, how about naming it after a Greek alphabet... for example, 'Omega Calculator 7' or something .. This makes it sound cool..
I like that name, thanks for the heads up. My next release will have quite a few changes, so a new name is suitable.
- Tom
MetroCalculator for the new name.
Also in WP7, all the accents fly in 1-by-1 not on 1 page. Just suggesting! ^_^
Thanks for your suggestion.
I have yet to decide on another name, although I would not mind one that could also be a brand, i.e. UberMusic, UberSomething... MetroSomething is already taken.
As for fly-in one-by-one, I will look into this but the layout used for choosing the theme color is part of a library project so I would need to figure out a way to do so without interfering with the Activity lifecycle.
Oh nice! Gotta try this out.

WEB Version
Hi!, Web version is available now!
WEB Version
Nothing to feedback?
I'm kind of confused as to what you actually do in the game? Some feedback i would give you is to make your description on the store more descriptive with how the game actually plays.
my thoughts
I've played the web-version of the game and want to share my thoughts with you. I like the gameplay, it reminds me of minesweeper.
But I also have some critics.
First of all, I don't like the look of the game, it looks like something straight from the 90s. When I openwd the thread and saw the screenshots, I was tempted to close the thread and forget about the game, simply because it looks boring. But then I decided to give it a try.
There are some beautiful minimalistic android games out there which got a lot of attention because of their style. Have a look at "ballmaze lite" in the playstore, it would fit perfectly for your game! I made a quick mockup to show how I think it would look a lot nicer (the first picture).
Second, when you first start the game you don't have a clue what to do. I had to quit the game and read the help pages (they are not very nice to navigate and read) to know how to play. Many people want to jump into the game without reading 7 (or so) pages of a helpfile. I think this scares a lot of people of... I would remove the help section and replace it with a tutorial mode. In this mode (second picture) you have a small grid to start with. After loading the tutorial you could draw an overlay over the top-left square (which is fixed color and has the number 2) and write something like
"this square has a fixed color which cannot be changed. The number shows how many neighbour squares have the same color. This includes horizontal, vertical and diagonal neighbours. Thus a square can have up to 8 neighbours"
when the player taps the screen a next overlay shows up on a grey empty square and it explanes that the player has to change their colors according to the numbers and neighbours. A third overlay could explain the color-picker at the bottom and its function and the numbers in it. A fourth overlay could explain the red border around wrong colored squares. Then the player can fill out the simple grid and should know enough to play the game.
I hope this is helpful for you.

[APP][4.0+] HoloConvert: The New Unit Converter

This is my new Unit Conversion app released today, HoloConvert. I felt that all of the current Android unit conversion apps are ugly and many aren't powerful enough, so I decided to make one of my own with a Holo interface in mind. I recieved great support on XDA for my last app Scientific 7 Minute Workout so I wanted to see if I could get some feedback for my newest app.

What makes this unit conversion app different?
Like I said before, I feel the user interface of an app is one of the most major components of an app. Even if an app works well, you shouldn't have to sacrifice on the looks or ease-of-use of an app. I made this app to target that, while implementing many features such as:
Saving your favorite conversion units
Adding new custom units
Tip Calculator
Multiple themes
Choice in decimal precision
Built-in calculator
I just released the app, so please let me know what you think and of any suggestions!
Wow this looks great!
Just downloaded and it's a great app! :good:
Just one suggestion can you give swap icon (similar like in google translate) so if we need to change from m to cm or vice versa from cm to m, we only need one tap
Definitely will buy it! Looking forward for next update
Beautiful work dev, keep up:good:
Thanks a lot guys! And how could I have forgotten a swap icon, added to my to-do list! I am very actively updating the app at this time (I've technically pushed out 3 updates so far) so keep the suggestions coming
Thanks for the update, I noticed a slight bug with currencies but it was already fixed!

Yep, there was a small issue with them at first but I fixed it pretty quick! Let me know if you find anything else!
Just saw on xda portal am going to try this.
Buying Pro was a no-brainer.
Now I'd only like to get an option to get the favorites on opening the app. This way I have to click two times for them, whilst the goal of favorites would be to have a shortcut!

That would be great. Also, some more currencies would be great, if you have the time (I kind of miss SEK).
Great app though! and at 0.79€, very affordable!
Scrolling through the units is extremely laggy on my phone, other buttons work with instant feedback. Somehow the list is really heavy to render.
I prefer asking google now for unit conversion but this is very nice app
Nice and handy app. One little bug, I cannot input negative numbers on the From input. E.g., when converting from Fahrenheit to Celsius.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
Just downloaded.
Looks very nice but I have two remarks.
On my SGS2 4.3" display, text is HUGE.
It would be nice to be able to select between few text sizes.
Nothing fancy, simple "Small, Medium, Large" selection.
You desperately need to implement reverse conversion.
If I choose meter as first unit and insert number "1", it works for Angstrom but cannot cope with AU.
You could implement simple swipe left or right to replace currently selected units
Also, question "Are you sure you wish to exit?" is unnecessary in my opinion.
Best wishes in new year!
This ain't right...

That looks like Fahrenheit to Kelvin conversion. Code bugs it seems like.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
Well I purchased it.
Will keep it but two issues so far.
The icon is ugly (will be nice to have something graphical)
The first conversion I tried was not accurate. There are exactly 12 inches to a foot so I selected convert feet to inches, selected 3 feet and it did not convert to exactly 36 inches.
Nice
Some current, resistance, voltage, ect. units, would be great. Nice job I can help with translation to polish.
great!
 it's cool
Very nice app. I just have not been able to enter a negative number for conversion.
For instance, if I attempt to enter -40 for a F to C for temp conversion, the "-" symbol does not appear to register as having been selected for input, despite the fact that the keyboard shows it available and I have entered it.

Awesome! I love the segregation of buttons & isolated perfectly starked notifications. I gotta ask. Are you pitching the iterated interactive design to Samsung? Which unfortunately is akin to a distance from planet Jupiter to Earth i.e posting it on XDA. I know it's a good take one takes pride in but I'll advise you push this to Samsung directly via their social media handles. I'm sure they'll be enlightened .
That aside, does the starked individual notification merge as a single entity and expand at will? If yay then it's intuitive but nay, it's counter intuitive as space will be sacrificed.
It looks horrible, especially the stacked notifications, how cramped everything is, the lack of margins, inconsistent capitalization, and an ugly font. I seriously hope this isn't real and it's just someone's fevered dream.
I find it hard to believe a professional designer designed this with all these gaping issues. It looks like it was designed by an amateur who knows nothing about aesthetics or theory of design.

It's not just me... don't like the cut off length volume and brightness. Rounded notice corners cuts usable estate. Stacking shouldn't be mandatory, looks like it be hard to use, don't know. Dark mode gives a better presentation in my opinion.
The volume under the brightness control full length would work. Otherwise not easy to precisely set. A optional percentage indicator on both slides be a nice touch.

Those stacked notifications are dope! It's a fresh, unique look.
Safe to say changes like these will always divide opinion. Some will love them, and others will hate them.
The best solution would be to add customisation so that the USER chooses which style they prefer.
I just wish companies stop forcing big UI changes on customers without options to customize said changes.
The more customization the better! Add an entire new settings sub-menu called "Customizations for Nerds" that unlocks with Developer Settings (double tapping build # five times) and throw in there every little extra change that users can do to the phone that did not make it to the final version.
Where is One UI 6 ?
It is in the ether world.
As a old web designer i'll say this design is really bad because of bad margin, unconsistent language, eye bleeding color palette and ugly grid layout.
Bro designing concepts is not for you, look for another talent / hobby.
You all are acting like this is official. News flash! It's not even close. Did you not see the OP is a New Member? Take this with an extremely small grain of salt.
Now this is is the stuff that makes me happy.
