Seven+ Calculator for Android
The Seven+ Calculator is now open source on GitHub!
Current version: gamma two
Now introducing the custom WP7 style status bar (and the ability to disable it)!
This Calculator is now part of the Seven+ Project.
Features include history, shake to toggle vibration when a button is pressed, accent color chooser, and much more!
Please leave suggestions below, I would love to continue to improve this app!

Announcing the release of the first application to be part of my Windows Phone 7 User Interface for Android: Windows Phone 7 Calculator. As such it is freely available on the Android Market. This is the first public beta, so expect bugs. Your feedback is highly valued so if you wish to suggest another application for development, inform me of bugs, etc. please do so. Below is the Market description:
--
Inspired by the beauty and simplicity of the Metro User Interface, Windows Phone 7 Calculator offers an easy to use, effective alternative to the default Android calculator application. This calculator includes all basic operations (multiplication, division, subtraction, and addition) as well as advanced operations (sine, cosine, tangent, logarithms, exponentials) and more.
In the portrait orientation basic operations are displayed; in the landscape orientation advanced operations are displayed. The memory function saves a number and the preferred trigonometric mode (degree, radian, or gradian) even after the device is rebooted.
Press the menu button to be given the option to choose the preferred accent color, which will display using the fly out animation.
--
This calculator is the simplest demonstration of my Windows Phone 7 User Interface for Android. Please head over to the donate version if you would like to support development. By donating or giving a good rating on the Market I know if I am doing a good job.
Thank you for reading,
- Tom

Great app and the transition is nice. Few basic things which I would like to see in WP7 Calculator:
1. I like it when the phone vibrates when any button is pressed, like when I press the menu button for changing settings.
2. Also, the settings button should change its color when I touch it.
3. When I choose a new accent, please take me back to the calculator interface immediately.
4. Give it a good icon please, the current one doesn't look good. Give it a metro icon.
5. History of performed calculations? I miss it as compared to stock calculator.
Rest is wonderful!

Cool, thanks for the suggestions.
1, 5) I will consider these. I'd prefer not to have an entire settings page just to enable/ disable vibrations. As for history, while I haven't used a Windows Phone 7 phone to verify, from what I've heard I do not believe that it a feature of the app. If so it should not be too hard to do, but I cannot figure out how the AOSP calculator stores history.
4) Where do you suggest I get a better icon? I am using the one from the Metrostation set. I am not much of a graphic designer, so making my own would only be worse.
2, 3) I just updated my UI framework to support these features, and implemented them into my calculator. In my next release I will include these.

May I suggest name it something other than "Windows Phone 7 Calculator" so microsoft doesn't send you a cease and desist letter.

Well I've published the previous #2 and #3 updates to the Market, go ahead and check it out.
As far as a name goes, if anyone has any suggestions feel free to let me know; I not sure what to call it. However a C&D from MS is too far fetched, worst case I change the name (are they going to say that they patented the standard layout of a calculator, or rectangles with solid colors?).
If anybody has suggestions for an icon, a name, or perhaps a way to get the project more publicity it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
- Tom

Good Start for a Metro like ecosystem on Android
Thanks for this calculator... It is well done and joins the list of my other Metro like apps ...
Since you are looking for a new name, how about naming it after a Greek alphabet... for example, 'Omega Calculator 7' or something .. This makes it sound cool..

I like that name, thanks for the heads up. My next release will have quite a few changes, so a new name is suitable.
- Tom

MetroCalculator for the new name.
Also in WP7, all the accents fly in 1-by-1 not on 1 page. Just suggesting! ^_^

Thanks for your suggestion.
I have yet to decide on another name, although I would not mind one that could also be a brand, i.e. UberMusic, UberSomething... MetroSomething is already taken.
As for fly-in one-by-one, I will look into this but the layout used for choosing the theme color is part of a library project so I would need to figure out a way to do so without interfering with the Activity lifecycle.

Oh nice! Gotta try this out.

[APP] NClip (Notifications /w clipboard integration)

Updated and nicer
I once had an idea for this app, so i started learning Java to make it happen.
I had a need to keep important information from my clipboard at the front of my attention (e.g text message, email etc) so I added some features and the result is NClip

OMG, this is exactly the app i was looking for.
I had the idea of such an app for months!
Thanks for it!
the cat ran across the road?!
wow! m already starting to like this app,
xD
pretty cool,i've been looking for somthing like this.
Suggestions
This is a great great app and a really good idea.. but I wanna give you some suggestions. The GUI is messy and doesn't properly use space.
On the very top is the Clipboard entry area (this should be at the bottom as its not usually used) it occupies immediately 1/2 of the screen with a large area that is totally wasted. Then, if there are contents on the clipboard they are not displayed nicely in the window (really ugly).
Then because of large unused area for the clipboard, now the Custom entry are is hidden when the keyboard is pulled-up (which by the way should pop-up immediately and it doesn't). Then if I want to add an icon, that menu selection is at the very bottom, so I have to close the keyboard to get there and, that menu doesn't have icon previews, just bullets (it needs icon previews as like the PICK ICON menu item). Finally the NOTE CUSTOM MESSAGE is at the very bottom (worse place), needs to be at the top.
All this makes a single entry an endless effort of way too many clicks to get anything done. I'm on a 7" Galaxy Tab. Look at the screenshots and get inspired
Finally, for this app to make ANY SENSE, it needs to be AS EASY TO ACCESS AS THE NOTES IT CREATES!!!!!!!!!! So, make it run as a hidden notification so it can be pulled down from the taskbar and activated (like the app Clipper - Clipboard manager for example.. you can check it out on the market if you are not sure what I mean)
Really nice app though. I want to love it.. you just need to make it right now
I've already added some features to the program, including the short cut you suggested, just my keystore is 100+ miles away on my desktop so I cant yet publish the update (its been sitting around for over a month).
I have also updated the gui, it shows only what is relevant at a given moment and keyboard no longer poses an issue on my nexus s, literally the app has everything you want (its just not published), i'm working on it

havok123, thanks for the feedback, this is great news! I didn't mean at all to be harsh or overly criticizing.. think your app is truly fantastic and therefor I just would like it you to get it perfect! I'm happy you decided to learn Java just to program this... totally worth it!
When you have an update for the or if you want me to help you beta test/trouble shoot an updated version, post the info here on the thread or PM me. Id love to help you if I can.
Keep up the great work and when its perfect make a paid version. It will be worth it and I think many people would buy it. You can definitely count me in and your work should be rewarded!
Just uploaded update finally.
Updated to 3.0
Changelog:
What's in this version:
N Clip Shortcut
Edit notifications on click
Updated GUI
Bug fixes
Great update, interface much more workable & cleaner.
One suggestion that immediately comes 2mind is, get rid of the sticky app icon that shows up on taskbar when selecting the enable shortcut option. No ned & cluttery. IfU add a note without chooding custom icon, now there are DOUBLE app icons on the taskbar being displayed one of which is NOT a note.. very confusing and unecessary.
If the enable shortcut opion is chosen, we know its there in the pulldown menu already, thats enough &keeps taskbar cleaner for actual notifications only
going to get on it over christmas break xD

Task'd - The Premiere To-Do List For Android™

Task'd is the premiere task manager and to-do list app for Android™ devices. It was designed with the user in mind to be beautiful, functional, and simple. The goal is to help you, the user, better manage your priorities and schedule.
The user interface is intuitive, with clearly marked and recognizable icons. Everything is right at your fingers, not hidden inside some obscure menu or tab. Editing a task is as simple as clicking it in the main list. Want to delete a task? Just long-press it and click delete.
Each task you create must have a name and a priority. Optionally, it can also have a due date and a description containing more details.
You can sort your tasks by priority (default), due date, order added, and alphabetically. You can also change the date format if you use a different standard than the default MM-DD-YYYY.
The full version of Task'd also includes a 4x1 homescreen widget that allows you to see all your tasks, or create a new one.
The free version will always remain one update behind the full version. Currently, it is only lacking the widget. Once the full version receives an update, the free version will get the widget, but not the new features. Bug fixes will still be rolled out as necessary.
Of course, the obligatory screenshots are attached at the end of the post. As for the QR codes with Market links:

Android is a trademark of Google Inc.
Does it sync with google tasks?
Currently no, however sync with Google Tasks and proper Honeycomb support are the next two things on my list.
Really liking the look of this, am constantly on the lookout for a nicer task manager.
I love the simplistic approach and UI. One suggestion might be an option to turn off the custom font? It is pretty funky but a little overwhelming on the eyes when used everywhere..
Also like your idea of keeping the free version one behind the paid, an approach I haven't seen before Looking forward to see what the widget it like, if Im still using this in a couple of days will definitely get the pro version. Cheers!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll definitely add in an option for the custom font. I can't get rid of it everywhere (specifically the buttons) but the option will let you ditch it in the task list and the edit/create screen.
I believe I've only seen the free behind paid model one or two other times, and I really liked it. It lets users see what they're getting in its entirety, yet still give them an incentive to upgrade.
Is there a way to sync between two users? Like myself and my girlfriend are looking for a syncing task list so we can put to-dos for each other without any manual effort.

If you set up Google Tasks sync with the same email account in the app, then they'll sync between devices. You don't need to use the same Google account on the phone itself, or on other devices, only when you set up sync in Task'd. I'll be sure to update this post once I get it updated.

[APP][2.3+][V3.7.2] LocationDetector

Send locations via sms, see all locations on map etc....
Now you can do all of these things with the only one application - LocationDetector !!!
In advanced version you have additional features like adding locations from google map or enter it numeric values, weather conditions etc.!

It is not a nice, enjoyable experience. The design is just outdated. Making a good app is not all. The second part is a good UI, pay attention to details, then the users will be more into using it. Take a look at HRS Hotel Search app. Their app was so badly designed (Gingerbread UI elements, wrong spacing, etc.) that they had to redesign it and after they have done that, they had to start over, with new app package name, new design (finally Holo, looks gorgeous) because of the bad ratings at Play Store. There is an official Android App Design community at Google+ that you may want to check out, with Roman Nurik (Muzei, DashClock) being the one of the moderators
If other developers would make app designs still based on Gingerbread, completely ignoring design guidelines, there would in the future be no material design, uncomplete Android L (because of those outdated apps) and Android platform would loose on popularity (no high-end games, cool apps, etc., you get the idea...).
However, from the screenshots it looks like if you just swap Theme.Light for Theme.Holo.Light.DarkActionBar, for example, and then spent just a few hours making your app look against the design guidelines, trust me, it would be at a totally different level. Good luck

Thanks a lot for your advices! Actually I'm going to redesign the app in the future, and now I think that I have to do it ASAP
Anyway, application is very helpful if you like to travel, and emphasis was made for functionality. I hope you will enjoy it anyway even with current design.
May be someone has idea about functionality of this app? Is everything suitable for you?

Your calculator has any features such as: touching to edit number and operator, reusing previous calculation result for the next calculation, sharing and storing result with note app? ->Calc+ can do all of them.
Calc+ is the special calculation app. It is the smartest and the most powerful until now. Besides, the interface was designed user-friendly with flat style, and more beautiful themes.
Review (Thank for TK BAY)

First!
But its rather unfortunate that i have to become a beta tester on G+ before i try out your app.
It's cool!!!
Very nice app. Thank you.
I like this calculator very much. It has everything I need but keeps the interface clear.
I like the ability to theme it too. Well done!
Finally after 2 years of searching a nice clear calc with %
:good: Nice app, very clean design. The ability to export the calculations to text/csv would be cool.
I have been looking for calculator for years but have to set on cm calc.
hexdecimal support is needed. most calc supports mode based hex/bin/dec which will not covert the expression/previous result.
Another important thing is to bring the expression from the history back instead of just result.
Have seen those beautiful apps. Really thinking whether I should make one myself.
The Gui is very well designed, well done
I love the UI
Note feature question
It looks really good. But i have questions regarding the sharing to note feature, since it intrigues me the most.
How does it work, exactly? Does it support Evernote? Does it export an image or the calculations? Is it editable (as in i touch it and it reopens in Calc?
I know the last one is farfetched but i gotta ask
Pro version buyed

Xperia Z1 C6902
Fantastic calculator app, I have been looking for something like this for several years since switching to Android Having a calculator with an editable history that doesn't look awful until now has been harder than it should have been till now
One suggestion though, unless it is something the app can already do but I have over looked is to be able to use the result of the previous calculation in something other than the first item on the next line. If you type an operator it automatically takes the result from the last calculation, but I'm not sure how to use the result elsewhere in the calculation, for example x ^ ans or similar.
Thanks!
really nice calculator app, thank you for the development!
Just made this calculator my device calculator. thank you
oh.....Pro again of your app. Have all of your app in now. Keep it up the good work and appreciate your effort.
awesome!
great work used it for a minute and now it's in my must have list. I appreciate to contribute Turkish translation, as it has many irrelevant translations.

[INDEX][APPs][Material Design]List of Apps with Material Design.

Hey, Welcome to the thread which contains some apps rha have material design.
First i want say that this thread doesn't contain any Google Apps(Gapps).
So Lets go
1.Action Launcher 3 Here
Sure, there’s the Google Now Launcher if you want the Googliest home screen possible, but Action Launcher gives your phone or tablet a Nexus-style look with more customization. There are plenty of icon pack choices and the QuickPage, which is a custom home screen you can get by swiping in from the right edge.

}
2.Cabinet Beta Here
It’s had a long go in beta, but Cabinet is a pretty stable and desirable file manager with a slick, material design look. It uses the floating button well, letting you create a new remote connection, folder, or file.
3.Swift keyboard Here
SwiftKey has gone all-in on with themes, with choices ranging from the minimalist to the ridiculous (Frozen, anyone?). On the material design, front, however, there are two excellent keyboard choices that match the new design of Google’s keyboard but add in more functionality. They’re $0.99 each, but well worth it.
4.Field Trip Here
Field Trip is a clever app for when you’re traveling or just out and about and want to discover more about what’s around you. It will ping you with details about restaurants, sites of historical snippets, or other places that you wouldn’t normally pick up through just a Google search or perusal of Yelp.
5.WEATHER TIMELINE Here
It’s too rare to find a great “Android only” app that shows off the best of the platform. Weather Timeline has done this with its weather application. It also has excellent Android Wear implementation, pushing out weather alerts and putting the forecast on your watch. It’s only $0.99, so grab it and support great development efforts like this.
6.NUMIX CALCULATOR Here
The stock Android calculator does the job, and it too has a new material theme if you’re running Lollipop. But if you want something that looks great and has a few more features then go with Numix Calculator Pro. It saves your calculation’s history and swings in with additional capabilities when you swipe through the keyboard.
[/SIZE]
7.Source News Reader Here
Feedly is still undergoing a material redesign, so while you’re waiting, or if you just want to explore another alternative, check out Source News Reader.
8.LUMIFIC-Pic Gallery Here
Lumific is a beautiful photo gallery application for anyone that isn’t happy with the stock photo gallery app that comes preinstalled on their device. While there are many great features within Lumific, one notable feature is the ability to order photo prints from Lumific through Snapfish by HP. Now you can have any photo taken with your camera printed out to keep and to share. Lumific also takes similar photos and recreates them into GIF images automatically, and it now integrates with Dropbox to sync photos for backup.
9.PLAYER FM PODCAST Here
Podcasts are a great way to consume the content you love if you don’t have the ability to read it, and Player FM Podcast adds in loads of useful features for anyone looking to start listening to podcasts. To start, it’s cloud-based, which means you can listen to it across devices. It’s also equipped for offline playback so you can still listen to stuff even without a data connection. You’ll also never have to worry about not being able to listen to an entire podcast all the way through, since play history will let you resume from where you left off.
10.NOVA LAUNCGER BETA Here
Nova Launcher Betas include new features and fixes before they are released to all users. However they also are not as well tested and may not be as reliable. Betas are best for people who don't mind when things temporarily break a little bit.
11.WHATSAPP (MD)(OFFICIAL)(BETA) Here
If you've been waiting for that special day when messaging app WhatsApp could be updated with the Material Design of Android 5.0, the good news is that day is here. You won't find this update in the Google Play Store yet, no matter how hard you try.
great! thanks
