You can get it from here:
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=ke...;hb=refs/heads/android-tegra-2.6.36-honeycomb
This is thanks to Koush, who posted it here:
http://www.koushikdutta.com/2011/02/motorola-xoom-rooted.html
One thing to note though, is that he said this:
"Unfortunately the kernel was not available in the Android repositories. At first, I tried using the Harmony kernel, since they are both tegra 2 250 chips. That turned out to be major fail. As soon as I was about to give up, I noticed that AOSP had updated their tegra kernel repository with some new tasty branches for stingray. Kudos to these guys for being so on the ball! I was able to compile that up and get a working recovery to obtain root, and then get Superuser on the device."
I'm sure someone tried the same thing, and the harmony kernel didn't work on our Vega tablets, either. Hopefully this should work with little changes to implement.
But, it saves us having to wait for Advent to try and create a honeycomb rom in the future.
EDIT: Here's a changelog for the kernel source too.
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=kernel/te...id-tegra-2.6.36
Good luck!
Anymore news on this or if anyone else is looking to port honeycomb to the vega?
Work is not being done at the moment as far as I know, for 2 reasons
Google AOSP has not released sources for Honeycomb yet
And its likely that a lot of backporting will need to take place for it to work on the vega (this will be assisted if the vega or a clone get an official honeycomb rom soon). Backporting is hard work and can take a lot of time.
It is likely we will see Honeycomb, but don't expect anything soon.
I must say I rather thought the AOSP would have been released by now. I wonder what the hold up is....

It's going to be somewhat annoying to port, since Google changed the hardware interface (camera, gps, lights, etc.) again apparently for no good reason. This means most existing 2.3 proprietary libraries cannot be used as-is (in particular libcamera and libaudio) -- instead I guess generic wrappers will have to be developed, much like the existing gpsshim.
EDIT: I may have spoken too quickly -- it could be easier than I previously thought.
Hopefully, if we can get a official CM support / ROM, we will be able to go to ICS.
I'll try to see if I can port a version o the ChaCha.
that would be awesome if you did
Longer way for chacha to ics, imho

I meant, like the different chips in the device.. Like the Wifi chip Model, etc..
Isn't it all needed to compile an ICS build ??
I am a total beginner.. But since ICS could be ported to the G1 and Nexus one and other low end devices, why not for our chacha ??
WE NEED SOME SERIOUS COMBINED KNOWLEDGE AND EFFORT GUYS !!!
i guess adlx.xda the maker of ROM SuperOSR and CyanogenMod7 on HTC ChaCha.
will have more knowledge on this xD

i am also not able to find a download link.. :silly:
well yeah the pre and the touchpad...
i mean jb and ics were not supposed to run on our devices and...well they do...
i guess you have to compile from the source:

helpful? hope so...
ok guys i found out that a friend of mine is a developer of this project
webos in the current stadium cannot be installed anywhere!
it requires a linux 3.3 kernel not even the old palm devices are able to run webos
just want to add:
my laptop is running the latest ubuntu 12.04 and its kernel is...
3.2.0-29-generic <-- this is lower than the required kernel for a mobile OS ?!
this is a fail -.-
anybody knows which kernel runs on s3 or nexus?
Palm pixi has 600 armv6 processor
It might be possible

Ubuntu is gonna be one another OS for smartphones. It will use the same Linux kernels and drivers but will use its own environment for developing. So for us, it will be like a new interface for our phones...Like using Ubuntu in our Window based PC. They are planning to release new phones which have Ubuntu as their OS. I think even before their release of smartphones, they will be releasing their sources which can be used for existing Android phones.
It's just a initial teaser. Hopefully it will get released by 2014...So long way to go....
P.S - You can register yourself here @ Announcement so that you will be notified just before date is finalized for release.
I don't have words. Simply amazing! Finally a native mobile OS that can work on our device.

The gesture support is very amazing
Only downside will be availability of apps as of now. But hopefully it will gain popularity and apps start flowing in.

The Development work on apps has already started. So by the time the OS is readily available for us, we will a gud volume of apps. And for those who wish to develop apps, you can check it over here.
And one more advantage is that as i said it will be developed in its own platform, it will reduce the Overhead of Java and there by it will be more smoother. Hope there won't be any head swirling smali.

What am i thinking is Tizen is also going to be release ( as humor said) & simply following it, ubuntu is also going to be. so, Android is towards downfall or something else..??
Tizen is a totally different OS. It'd be much harder to port it than Ubuntu for phones. It is said that S4 will be released with Tizen, but I don't think so. They would lose many users because of the lack of apps.

And Tizen is being rumoured for a long time but i dont think they will experiment it with 'S' series phones..Even it was said Bada will be made as a Open source but after Wave-3, i dont see any Bada OS supported phones and u know what, Cyanogenmod has been ported to Wave series phones which had Bada OS and now they are enjoying Jelly Bean in Wave phones. To be frank, Wave series phones had excellent hardwares and now with Cyanogenmod, it wud be superb..CM10

Agreed for Tizen. but somewhere rumored were for Tizen for Wave II & III. but unfortunately Bada OS ported to them. But yes, now what I want is can we port Bada for our device..?? Lols..head scratching..
Why Bada OS? As the specifications satisfied, we can get the ubuntu OS.. Just seen the videos.. It is amazing and they are going to use same android based kernel..
Love to see different OS in our R... Also, just read somewhere that the Tegra 2 device running windows 8 RT..
so we have good chances to get it  :good:???

Yes buddy, just like Bada OS now runnign CM10(android) so we can run there also. But I asked from SIyah Kernel Dev for building the Kernel for us but he simply denied coz he doesn;t have time for us. BTW Selva.simple buddy is working on it. May be we can have it.:fingers-crossed:
If we will have dual booting kernel then WIndows & others ROM can be thinking to port to our device also.
Hey just now see this one -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2079869
Meizu ICS ROM ported to HTC HDLeo. check out this one also.
I sent message to ubuntu team and they replay and told me that they are on thier way to announce the software but it still beta till now

Agreed for the same buddy. But if it can be done ( as processors & if we get the source over which other did the same) for others then can't it be for us. Means I said, "dual booting" means Android in one hand & MS OS other hand.
Hey did anyone install android N preview 1? I haven't installed it cause it only released a preview 1, Maybe i'll installed it when preview 5 is released.
I'll link a source down below if anyone is wanting to install it

as its name suggests, it is only for developer, for testing their apps etc. if you're not a developer, it is better to wait for a final release. unless you like living with bugs, crashes and other possible instability issues.

I don't think they will, i mean, yes MXP has 5.5 inches and 1080p screen but the RAM and processor is kinda weak for android N :/. but what do i know, I maybe a bit good at tech but i'm not a tech guy, but let's keep our hopes up that Lenovo will release android N for MXP
I have been wondering about this too but its too early. It is a preview of N and the android development platform for android N or whatever it will be called called is not yet released - after google I/O in may .....may be . In six months or more (alot more ) there something like cm 14 or other rom. Be patient

I'm fairly confident Motorola will provide an N upgrade for lux. In any case, you'll get it with custom ROMs (after the final N build is ready). The CPU and GPU are perfectly fine for the purpose and I expect it have zero difficulties with it. I plan to continue supporting this device till at least 2018.

yeah, i know 32-64 bit doesn't change the performance much. 64 bit just supports more RAM and has more address lines.
i hope to do the same, but building from scratch is very confusing when you are a beginner. still trying though.

Not so quick question:
When Google releases a AOSP -source code ect - for android N or any other version CM team make a basic CM version - a core of the OS so to speak - so that people who maintain a given device like MXP can adapt it to work. And that takes time....I over simplified the whole process - which surely includes lots of coding and magic - but all in all is this how it it's made ?

We need a final N and caf being updated. Then when a rom updates to that we can try building it for Lux (Code name Moto X Play) and fixing everything. Then Motorola will update it so we can use the blobs and kernel to make it even more stable.
You can look on motorola upgrade support page, there is info fo several models and android versions. We cant be sure if N will come to MXP, but Im sure, Motorola has great support and its normal, that phones gets two major upgrades. So MXP started on L, moved to M and N is very likely.

its obviusly mxp will get android n, its a 2015 smartphone ... general mobile (android one) its on beta program and only have a 410; as much as android Lollipop/Marshmallow/ N are very optimized, work flawless in practically "any device" with 1gb ram
