You can get it from here:
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=ke...;hb=refs/heads/android-tegra-2.6.36-honeycomb
This is thanks to Koush, who posted it here:
http://www.koushikdutta.com/2011/02/motorola-xoom-rooted.html
One thing to note though, is that he said this:
"Unfortunately the kernel was not available in the Android repositories. At first, I tried using the Harmony kernel, since they are both tegra 2 250 chips. That turned out to be major fail. As soon as I was about to give up, I noticed that AOSP had updated their tegra kernel repository with some new tasty branches for stingray. Kudos to these guys for being so on the ball! I was able to compile that up and get a working recovery to obtain root, and then get Superuser on the device."
I'm sure someone tried the same thing, and the harmony kernel didn't work on our Vega tablets, either. Hopefully this should work with little changes to implement.
But, it saves us having to wait for Advent to try and create a honeycomb rom in the future.
EDIT: Here's a changelog for the kernel source too.
http://android.git.kernel.org/?p=kernel/te...id-tegra-2.6.36
Good luck!
Anymore news on this or if anyone else is looking to port honeycomb to the vega?
Work is not being done at the moment as far as I know, for 2 reasons
Google AOSP has not released sources for Honeycomb yet
And its likely that a lot of backporting will need to take place for it to work on the vega (this will be assisted if the vega or a clone get an official honeycomb rom soon). Backporting is hard work and can take a lot of time.
It is likely we will see Honeycomb, but don't expect anything soon.
I must say I rather thought the AOSP would have been released by now. I wonder what the hold up is....

Kernel development isn't my strong suite.
But I'm very interested in some opinions on what exactly it would take to get MeeGo running on the G-Tablet.
http://tapntap.http.internapcdn.net/tapntap/viewsonic/gTablet-TapUI-1.1-Kernel-Patch.zip
Would that kernel patch be of any use?
Lets assemble a team to do it, i will be on it but i probably dont know enough to lead it or anything. You might send an email to the meego team asking about what all the kernel needs to support in order to get this thing running.
Martin is working on Advent Vega for Meego and I think we can just follow the step for G tablet.
Here is the progress:
xxxx://wiki.meego.com/ARM/TEGRA2
xxxx://wiki.meego.com/ARM/TEGRA2/Notes
I can't post the URL until I got 8 postings, so just replace xxxx = http
NS_nix
Nice. Looks like it's still got a long ways to come, but glad someone's already working on it! I'll keep my eye on that page.
I think we do is enumerate the components of G-tablet using the kernel source info.
1. Touch screen is using eGalax. +CONFIG_TOUCHSCREEN_USB_EGALAX=y
2. bcm4329 wlan for Wireless 8011n
XXXX://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892308
3.
And use this info to patch the meego kernel for G-tablet or the other way around, find a tegra kernel with g-tablet patch that can run meego.
Now that nearly all 3.0 not native tablets have received an unofficial hoenycomb port, I think it would be fantastic if we make an effort to port honeycomb also to AC100. Yeah I know there aren't official google sources... But all who ported honeycomb to 2.2 native devices didn't use sources. So we can also do the same. Regarding kernel here is a useful resource: http://gitorious.org/ac100
I continue to think that for all who love android a 3.0 port would be a loved addition!
If anyone able to port honeycomb wants to join me in porting honeycomb to ac100, is welcome. I am not very expert doing these things, but I will be enthusiast to learn!
Waiting for anwers.
I would like to see Android 3.0 on the AC100 too. I'm sorry I cant realy help on this, but to port Honeycomb will not be trivial. I think. I have seen the problems to port Linix/Ubuntu for AC100 and the main problem should be the missing of the Toshiba sources.
There is a rom in the works at tabletroms dot com!!! not fully functional yet
EDIT 08/11/2011
So I came across a Tegra driver package "Linux for Tegra release 12 alpha 1" that was released on June 29 2011, within this zip file were files with the word "Harmony" slapped all over the place..
I guess I'm just curious to know if this driver package is related to the Tegra 2 drivers that we've been anxiously waiting for.
It would be wonderful if one of our fantastic developers here on XDA would be kind enough to browse through this package and weigh in as to whether this is what we're needing to make the G Tablet unleash its full potential.
Linux for Tegra release 12 alpha 1
Any reply would be greatly appreciated..
Thank you and God Bless.

I ran accross these articles today regarding the MeeGo!
Seems like VERY GOOD news for TEGRA II Devices like our beloved G Tablet

+1 for introducing me to the Trim-Slice, tekrhino. I'll be keeping an eye on that bit of hardware. Way better than this one.
hmm... meego would be interesting on the gtab.

10.31mb took about 5 seconds on my gtab.
Hope maybe! Drivers support harmony & ventana on flashable board

I took a look at both the drivers and the Linux for Tegra release 12 Alpha 1 Release page date 29 Jun 11 http://developer.nvidia.com/content/linux-tegra-release-12-alpha-1-released. The release notes clearly state that is supports the Tegra 200 series soc:
"Tegra Linux Driver Package supports development of platforms running:
NVIDIA® Tegra™ 200 series computer-on-a-chip"
The driver package scripts have code for flashing the system and bootloaders for both harmony (ours) and ventana (newer) tegras. The tegra drivers appear to include numerous codex and the libs contain libnvmm_video.so, libnvmm_videorenderer.so, libnvmm_graphics.so all dated 29 Jun 11.
I don't know enough about linux/android to tell if these are newer drivers or the same as our curent Froyo drivers, but now that we know that these support both harmony & ventana, I'm hoping someone who knows more about linux/android drivers/libraries/kernals could look & tell us if this is what they need to continue development on HC!!!!

Best Android development Website EVER
You guys rock, and good looking out with these drivers. As long as everyone can stick together and pass on information, roms for our android device will just keep getting better and better. Cheers!!!!
Has there been any progress on this? Its seems as though just as I received my gTablet the devs enthusiasm towards it has declined drastically(understandably).
I remember reading a few days ago about a project that was having quite a lot of progress with writing their own drivers, but since then I was unable to find it.
Can anyone give me some info, or at least point me in the right direction, about this project, or any other current Honeycomb project. I know I saw another project on a parallel device with working camera, I wonder if its the same one as the original.
bump to your "where did all the enthusiasm go" post. where are all the honeycomb devs? only one rom has been updated in the last 2 months.
this is a linux kernel, it needs porting across to android.
there's been a lot of progress using it to boot xubuntu etc etc
I want to port it to my hannspad, but with kernel.org down its a bit tricky getting a vanilla .38 kernel to diff against.
You know the Dell Streak 7 has Honeycomb 3.2 fully functional and they use the same CPU. Why not pull the driver files from their rom?

See Roebeet's answer here:

They are almost done with a kernel here though:
http://www.slatedroid.com/topic/21135-kernel-12-native-hc-kernel-development-92111/
I have a Galaxy S2 which seems to share the same chipset as the GT 7+.
I've just ordered a tab7+ and as there is a massive amount of roms available for the S2, including ICS. Would the binaries for the S2 help make an ICS rom for the GT7+?
Binaries? No - completely different screen, very different peripherals, and no Honeycomb for the Tab 7. Even when both have ICS, they will be very different builds.
Kernel source? Due to being 2.6.36.x, the Honeycomb source base for your kernels has differences from the S2 codebase - so a lot of stuff can't be directly applied, but a competent developer (you have one with garyd9) can apply the "concepts" in many cases.
Unfortunately, Samsung screwed up the wifi driver in the 7 Plus. It's binary-only (no source code) and it seems to have bugs.

I don't think there are any kernel mods I'd want to bring over from that device. As far as what the OP called "ROMs", I have no idea what they are referring to. There doesn't seem to be any read-only memory in the tablet.
If he meant "firmware", then I have to admit that I'd prefer not to do that kind of thing. There are many different kinds of developers in the world... some get off working at the lowest possible level (kernels, etc) and others prefer higher level things. I'm the former, and it would take the latter to do firmware development.

I'm glad that people are finally getting together and trying to produce some new ROMs for this device, but I feel that Shield Tab, more than any other device, needs multirom support. Some games don't work and may never work on Android 5.0 and up, and that's a real shame for a device with this sort of power, HDMI out and special controller support. I wouldn't mind running a special ROM that was fully compatable with the OUYA framework alongside a ROM running the latest version of Android for general use. That would greatly increase the flexibility of a Shield Tab.
Soooo, any devs feel me on this?

yeah, I planned to release it last weekend, but some other things got in the way and I didn't have enough time. I'll probably release it later this week (it already works, but a few patches to multirom are required, so I want to publish all the sources first)
