I hope you're not disappointed. GB is pretty much like Froyo.
It's easy enough to root your phone, try a GB build and then go back to stock if you want to do so.

Is GRI40 the right build for 2.3.3?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Seems to be on my one, i use the stock image update (was GRI40) and the Netarchy kernel at the moment,
I have seen posts with the radio apk/updates in that state a radio version of GRI40 and GRI54 though, so that does leave me a little confised also.
In particular i reference this post by PaulOBrian:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975105
I guess the radio or particular system apk/app can be at a later revision than the root firmware though, i do not know how to tell what version i have of the radio install on my 2.3.3 (if you let me know how i will find out for you).
Cheers

No problem about that.
You can update your radio to GRI54 using links in the development forum.
Just flash the .zip file
Aaah okay. Thanks for the information

or flash the radios via fastboot (.img).. either one would work
Fastboot, was required only while rooting. From there on, cwm recovery ftw!

Hi,
Few month ago I've upgraded my phone to this version: V10k(latest EuroOpen) V10K_00.kdz - and everything is working fine.
Now I see there is a newer version: Official GB V21A V21A_00.kdz. But some people complaining about problems with signal after update:

So my questions are:
1. If V10k is working fine, can I be sure that V21A will also work fine (I live in lithuania)?
2. There were a lot of writings about some basebands for V21A - will I need to install some additional stuff together with V21A?
Do not try the Gemen V21a there has been reported a lot of problem with signalling issues...try the new UK GB V21 ROM..

I have just installed the British GB baseband and I think it is the same...
Baseband version L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00
Kernel Version - 2.6.35.7+
Build number GRJ90.
Is this the same as the German version?

Did you ever compare the MD5 between the UK and Germen ROM, if this is the same then this is exactly the same ROM as that of Germen...

Sadly I didn't. I don't have the MD5 files and don't have the time to go back and sort it at the moment unfortunately.
Hopefully someone else will get the chance!

There are no updates out, they pulled the 2.3.6 for the second time.
Why not just flash one of the stock 2.3.6 roms?
Ok. I didnt know about that. Thank you for the information.
Any way I know we will get ICS in 2013. So, no rush ;-)

SMP PREEMPT Thur Mar 29th 19:02:02 CST 2012
I had a pre-release version of the phone with the same everything, except the kernel was dated Mar19th. After rooting it, I got nonstop problems with wifi. (phone would get into a reboot loop if you ever connected to any wifi network)
I had exchanged the phone with HTC, hoping that the replacement would have the current baseband/build/kernel. Unfortunately my replacement had the same everything, but with a slightly newer kernel.
Currently I am stil waiting to hear back from HTC to let me know if there will be an update that updates my baseband, or if they want me to exchange my phone again. I have held off on rooting this one because I'm quite positive it'll have the same wifi issues once rooted.
