There are no updates out, they pulled the 2.3.6 for the second time.

Why not just flash one of the stock 2.3.6 roms?

Ok. I didnt know about that. Thank you for the information.
Any way I know we will get ICS in 2013. So, no rush ;-)

ROM baseband

Saw this article on pocketnow.com about the Captivate getting a leaked gingerbread rom whose baseband was UCKF1. If you recall, the infuse' current baseband is UCKE3 and that was updated from UCKD5.
So with the release of the Rogers version of the Infuse, we can look forward to UCKF1 as being the baseband code for gingerbread?
Makes sense:
UCKD5
UCKE3
UCKF1, whats next?
UCKG9?

How To Root Stock Droid Charge EP4D
Sent from my SCH-I510 using xda premium
Droid Charge Insufficient Space On Device
I rooted a Droid Charge for my boss using the altered beast method, and now no matter what I do. When I try to download from the market, it tells me there is insufficient space on the device. When there is plenty of room on the sd card, and internal. Can someone please help me, I've tried a reset, and clearing the cache, and download history in the market. Any help someone could offer would be much appreciated.

I would suggest flashing a rom much newer than the one you are on. Perhaps 12/11 infinity or tweakstock 1.1, they are both built off the newest gingerbread build for the charge.
Thanks... Will try tomorrow.

Any luck on this. I have the same. All I keep seeing is for the EP4D
If you received a new or CLN phone from Verizon with EP4 (firmware 2.3.6) or you accepted the OTA update, then you are in fact running EP4D.
The EP4D name is used on the forums to differentiate from a previously leaked (now obsolete) EP4 build known as EP4P; therefore, posts referring to EP4D are the most current and relevant.
For instructions on rooting and more, XDA member trparky has a simple and informative resource known as the The One-Stop-Shop Droid Charge Knowledge Base.
I think flashing odin all in one ep4d rom is your best option for Root, custom recovery (thanks imnuts) and a relatively stock feel. Everytime I bricked my phone I reflashed this rom and im good to go. Bricked phone? Maybe just a thing of the pass now. Thanks.devs

SD-Read Only bug. Newer GB release can fix that.

Question about FXZ before flashing

Quick question,
I am currently running SCv6 on my phone and it is running well. Haven't really had any issues but when updating from SCv5.2 to SCv6 I went into a bootloop and had to FXZ back to 2.3.5. I didn't OTA and just rooted, installed Bootstrap and installed SCv6. My question is should I have done the OTA before flashing? I know we cannot flash kernels on our phone, but I am wondering if I am on the latest kernel and baseband or not (info below). Thanks for the help.
Baseband version: 2011-09-21 09:42 Off.Bid LUD_EDISON_R107_PATCH_27_110921_0913
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-g98a0a06 [email protected] #1
Yes, IMO you should have flashed the ota update for 2.3.6 first. Seeing as how all our roms are 2.3.6 based. There was a lot of good stuff in that update.
Looks as though our kernel is the same but my baseband version is different.

Thanks, it never crossed my mind before, then it dawned on me. I don't think I have ever had the new baseband with a custom ROM. I was rooting 2.3.5 and then flash ROM's (used to having an unlocked bootloader). I just FXZ'ed back and OTA'ed and rooted then restored a NANDROID of SCv6 and everything is up to date.

Youcan flash any ROM to your phone, just flash the baseband fix for the old baseband to get calls working, its floating around somewhere in the forums a little search can probably find it for you.
Hope this helped!

ok i can do that but i do believe there are phones out in this world that run on V21e baseband and i think people did put custom roms and kernels that run with V21e baseband ....
i just don't want to go through the trouble of fixing the baseband and then re-flashing ..... i just don' t have that type of time
so if there is a custom rom/kernel out there for V21e baseband then please give me the link .
but if there isn't any then i will either leave it like this because i can still do everything including making calls and more with this baseband
or i will flash the old baseband fix

Lol your last sentece is all you have to do
Just simply find whichever ROM you want to flash to your phone, it doesn't matter which one because even if it is for the v21y baseband, Owains BB fix will make it compatible with the old baseband, the Kernel has nothing to do with baseband compatability.
If you have anymore questions just PM me and ill help you out
Hope this helped

For V21e, the best ROM I have seen yet is Temasek's CM7.2 variant. No need for baseband fixes (it's based off the v21e), you might have to run GetRil to make sure the RIL matches the Baseband, but you'll be just fine. I'm using an older version of Temasek's ROM and loving it! (only reason why I haven't upgraded yet is because I'm lazy).
It's a final posting for the ROM (since my guess is he's waiting for the true ICS release to work on), but don't let that scare you. It's a COMPLETE GB2.3.7 ROM.

[Q] need some help to tell my bootloader and basic root and CWM procedure

Hi all
I recently receive a 2nd i897, it's running fine but it's only a 2.2.1 (rooted and CWM installed already)
To get myself busy, I decide to upgrade it to 2.3
Here is some background from the setting page:
Model number: i9000
firmware version: 2.2.1
baseband version: i9000ugl2
build number: lidroid 1.9.3
And if i switch on my i897 from complete switch off state
I see "first" i9000 symbol, then i897 symbol
Because of this, i am not too sure what bootloader i am currently on.
My plan:
1.To flash this firmware from samfirmware - SGH-I897_I897UCKK4_UC_ATT (To get GB bootloader and clean 2.3.3)
2.To flash one of the GB kernels from http://www.semaphore.gr/downloads/captivate (To root and install CWM)
3. To flash my favorite GB custom rom
I wish to make sure if my plan is correct before going ahead
THX
Joe
It looks like u currently have an i9000 froyo rom and u have the i9000 froyo bootloaders.
I would suggest an upgrade to the GB 2.3.5 i897ucKK4 firmware with the Bootloaders and then flash KK4 Corn Kernel v7.0A to get the CWM Recovery that is included with that kernel (u can flash the .tar version of this kernel through Odin...use the PDA slot). Then flash ur rom of choice through the cwm. There is no need to get Root before u flash a Dev Rom.

Thx 4-2ndtwin
It looks like my little plan is align with your reply.
One more question, can i flash semaphore kernel instead of Corn kernel?
Thx
U can...But if it is not a KK4 based kernel then it will not boot ur phone.
If u try to boot up it will more than likely bootloop. U can use the 3 button combo to get into its recovery though. And then flash ur rom from there.
I would say, go with Corn Kernel.

hi guys
things didn't go too well.
30 mins ago, I just flashed UCKK4
from this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1357848)
Odin reported no errors, but now i have bootloop, I see at&t bootscreen
then a "3g" flying animation with white background.
Can someone guide me from here?
1. I think i need the proper way to get in recovery again
2. or to boot into download mode
Thx
Joe
