Quick question,
I am currently running SCv6 on my phone and it is running well. Haven't really had any issues but when updating from SCv5.2 to SCv6 I went into a bootloop and had to FXZ back to 2.3.5. I didn't OTA and just rooted, installed Bootstrap and installed SCv6. My question is should I have done the OTA before flashing? I know we cannot flash kernels on our phone, but I am wondering if I am on the latest kernel and baseband or not (info below). Thanks for the help.
Baseband version: 2011-09-21 09:42 Off.Bid LUD_EDISON_R107_PATCH_27_110921_0913
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-g98a0a06 [email protected] #1
Yes, IMO you should have flashed the ota update for 2.3.6 first. Seeing as how all our roms are 2.3.6 based. There was a lot of good stuff in that update.
Looks as though our kernel is the same but my baseband version is different.

Thanks, it never crossed my mind before, then it dawned on me. I don't think I have ever had the new baseband with a custom ROM. I was rooting 2.3.5 and then flash ROM's (used to having an unlocked bootloader). I just FXZ'ed back and OTA'ed and rooted then restored a NANDROID of SCv6 and everything is up to date.

Have at it folks.
You might be able to just flash this over the leaked ota, but I advise doing a full wipe before flashing just to be safe.

And the updated radios:

Wimax Update 26023
Flash these radios one at a time in recovery, you will have to reboot once for each one.

Thank you sir.
any notable changes from 1st leak?
+1 Nice work
Are you going to do a deodexed version?
LOL download is slowing down by the second...I wonder how many of us were camped on this forum waiting for Netarchy to pop his head in?
I'm still kind of a noob with all this.
Is this ROM just the OTA but with root and nothing else changed?
I can flash it and it'll be like I did the OTA but maintain my root privileges?
**also, are there any radios or things that need to be flashed after this?
Thanks netarchy, you rock!

you are correct as for the first part of your question. as for the radios and wimax. Netarchy said there is no changes from the old OTA that leaked out a few days ago so if you already did those then you do not need to flash any radio or Wimax after flashing this ROM.
ps: Thanks Netarchy.
Getting it at 3 MB a sec from Megaupload.
If your currently running the 3.36.651.3 Rom, can we just flash this over and go? Or do we have to do a full wipe?
Thanks for your hard work netarchy!

Hey Folks,
I'm pretty new to this Rooting and Roming of Android devices so please bare with me if this sounds like a stupid question.
Last weekend I roots my nexus s i9023, installed ClockworkMod 3.x and Axura NSE Rom ( Gingerbread 2.3.3 ) with netarchy 1.2.5cfs Kernel. Everything went perfectly but now I'm being badgered by the Auto Update to in OTA update 2.3.4. The Nexus S is on Vodafone NL.
My question being a nooby is can I go ahead and let the OTA update install on reboot ( will it have any effect on my rooted device, recovery image or custom rom? ) ?
If not, how do I get to 2.3.4? Do I wait for Axura 2.3.4 update? Or is there a way to disable Auto Update from bugging me every couple of hours.
Any help would be great,
Neil
I don't think you will have able to update to 2.3.4 its because you flashed clockwork an you have a custom rom. I suggest trying out another rom that has a 2.3.4 Core. Also axura nse is no longer supported by master so you might not see an update on it.

You will lose root and recovery if you install the OTA. Not hard to root again, but just install a custom 2.3.4 rom

There are no updates out, they pulled the 2.3.6 for the second time.
Why not just flash one of the stock 2.3.6 roms?
Ok. I didnt know about that. Thank you for the information.
Any way I know we will get ICS in 2013. So, no rush ;-)

I'm new at trying out different ROM's. I rooted my phone, installed CWM through NVflash.
Here's my issue: I've tried both Hellfire GB 2.1 and EaglesBlood ICS 4.0.4. First let me say they both seem to have done great jobs!
The problem I'm experiencing is with placing calls. I tried calling my voicemail and there is a LOT of static and I can only faintly hear the voicemail behind the static. I've tried this through the earpiece, speakerphone, and on a bluetooth headset.
I followed flashing instructions precisely: wipe wipe wipe (even with the Nullifier), install ROM zip, then gapp zip. Boot up and wait 10 minutes.
I backed up my original (T-mobile GB 2.3.4) and can restore to that with no problem making calls.
Help?
try reading a little more next time, the new baseband will not work with anything besides 2.3.4...2.3.4 rom will only be able to make calls on 2.3.4 roms... the only other way is to revert back to 2.3.3 (V21e)

Sorry I tried various search words, and I'm not sure what "baseband" is haha.
Am I understanding you right: I have to find an older Gingerbread ROM, flash that on my phone, and THEN I can flash to something newer like EaglesBlood 4.0.4?
My phone was GB 2.3.3 until about 2 weeks ago with the OTA update to 2.3.4.

No, once you get the official OTA update with the new March 2012 baseband (you can check which baseband you have in settings>about phone) you CANNOT flash any other custom ROM other than the official OTA update or a rom that is based of it because of compatability issues.
The only way that you can flash the Eaglesblood ROM or whivhever ROM you want is to downgrade down to the v21e ROM for the G2x if you search on XDA youll find some instructions on how to do so
Hope this hhelps clear up some things

Here's how to fix. Go to g2x developement, the thread how to unbrick. Then second post. Follow that.
But flash stock recovery first.
Be sure while the procedure is happening, just wait patiently

OP just restore your nandroid and enjoy your phone. 2.3.4 with new baseband works great.
He wants a custom rom. Just follow the steps I told you

Thanks!
Thanks for everyone's input... I restored to my stock ROM for now. I'm hoping it's just a matter of time before custom ROMs use the newer baseband

I've recently downgraded from ICS ROM Genesis Stable Build 1 after having some lagging issues and problems with call audio.
I just wiped and flashed CM7 HF Phoenix with Trinity T15 kernel, but I'm having similar problems that I had with the Genesis ROM. I updated to the newer baseband on Genesis to correct some call audio issues, but I'm now having the same problems after downgrading back to CM7.
I already tried GetRIL and have matched my baseband, but I'm still having the call audio problem. Do I have to revert back to stock and reflash or is there another solution?

I am running stock jelly bean rom with air kernel and I want to get back to stock kernel. How would I do that?
Just flash your rom again, no wiping required

Ok so I just flash the last OTA update I had which was the 4.0.4 to 4.1.1 update?
This one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736645
No, you flash the full ROM. Not just the OTA update.
Where is the full jelly bean 4.1.1 rom? Sorry I couldnt find it.
And are you positive this process doesnt wipe that?
https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
Make sure to grab the correct one. Flash with fastboot. Obviously your bootloader has to be unlocked, which I imagine is already the case.
Nothing should be lost as long as you don't wipe data.
Ah so this is what I have to do?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1572307
And yes my bootloader is unlocked.
Btw which kernel do you suppose is the closest to stock kernel? The reason why I want to do this is because I wanted to see just how does the stock kernel compare with air kernel but it seems like it isnt as simple a thing as I thought it would be to go back to stock kernel.
as i know there is no stock kernel standalone instalation package. So the only way to get back to stock kernel is to flash the whole ROM again.
For my purposes showed as the best kernel thalamus kernel.
Thanks for all the info guys. I have one more question just for future information purposes. Do you get an OTA update if you are on custom kernel?

I just re-uploaded the ROM with stock kernel on my thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1881858
That will reset your kernel to stock. Sorry I don't have a separate kernel zip to flash.
If I install my compete ROM again (its Cyanogenmod), do I have to install the Gapps again too?
