grh78c = stock version 2.3.2
gri40 = stock version 2.3.3
gri54 = stock version 2.3.3 (europpean version with lcd)
It's the baseband version of your phone

No problem about that.
You can update your radio to GRI54 using links in the development forum.
Just flash the .zip file
Aaah okay. Thanks for the information

or flash the radios via fastboot (.img).. either one would work
Fastboot, was required only while rooting. From there on, cwm recovery ftw!

Is GRI40 the right build for 2.3.3?
Sent from my Nexus S using XDA Premium App
Seems to be on my one, i use the stock image update (was GRI40) and the Netarchy kernel at the moment,
I have seen posts with the radio apk/updates in that state a radio version of GRI40 and GRI54 though, so that does leave me a little confised also.
In particular i reference this post by PaulOBrian:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=975105
I guess the radio or particular system apk/app can be at a later revision than the root firmware though, i do not know how to tell what version i have of the radio install on my 2.3.3 (if you let me know how i will find out for you).
Cheers

Hi all,
my main question is that installing OTA updates manually is considered flashing?
Also, i want to double-checked if the version i updated is appropriate for my i9020
Information of my current i9020 are:
Android Version: 2.3.3
Baseband Version: I9020XXKB1
Kernel Version: 2.6.35.7-g1d030a7 ([email protected] #1)
Build Number: GRI40
Is this right? Any NS(i9020) users please verify...
Thanks people.
Its a form of flashing yes,but not the form that is used in this forum...any flashing referred to in this forum is usually done by a recovery image which has been installed on the phone by the user...as to what the latter part of your post means ....i am not sure.
Yes its the latest. Kb3 is a newer radio you dingy have. Mainly for euros but works better

Okay good to hear that
Cause I'm worry that it will affect my battery life after flashing.

I flashed the radio leedroid said to... It really screwed up my speeds... How would I go about downloading and installing art updated radio?
Go to my thread in development, it has instructions and a download that includes radio and RIL files for the Inspire.

Same happened to me! I think that recommended radio does not works very good with AT&T USA. Except for that, Excellent Rom! Very happy
PD - Incredible battery management
So... ACE ROM or LeeDroid...

What version are you using? 3.0.2 / 26.09.04.11_M2 is very good all around, I have had no issues at all....I am actually flashing back to it, because 3.0.3 isn't working very well in comparison ...At least for us Americans anyway

I hope you're not disappointed. GB is pretty much like Froyo.
It's easy enough to root your phone, try a GB build and then go back to stock if you want to do so.

There are no updates out, they pulled the 2.3.6 for the second time.
Why not just flash one of the stock 2.3.6 roms?
Ok. I didnt know about that. Thank you for the information.
Any way I know we will get ICS in 2013. So, no rush ;-)
