Hi,
Few month ago I've upgraded my phone to this version: V10k(latest EuroOpen) V10K_00.kdz - and everything is working fine.
Now I see there is a newer version: Official GB V21A V21A_00.kdz. But some people complaining about problems with signal after update:

So my questions are:
1. If V10k is working fine, can I be sure that V21A will also work fine (I live in lithuania)?
2. There were a lot of writings about some basebands for V21A - will I need to install some additional stuff together with V21A?
Do not try the Gemen V21a there has been reported a lot of problem with signalling issues...try the new UK GB V21 ROM..

I have just installed the British GB baseband and I think it is the same...
Baseband version L6260_MODEM_SIC_01.1042.00
Kernel Version - 2.6.35.7+
Build number GRJ90.
Is this the same as the German version?

Did you ever compare the MD5 between the UK and Germen ROM, if this is the same then this is exactly the same ROM as that of Germen...

Sadly I didn't. I don't have the MD5 files and don't have the time to go back and sort it at the moment unfortunately.
Hopefully someone else will get the chance!

According to how it was explained to me:
The baseband is the firmware on the chip.
The RIL is the bridge between the chip with said firmware and the OS.

been told cm7 uses its "own" RIL along with other custom roms? true? or can people usually update with no effect/possible benefits. ive read some basebands require certain RILs

Not to sure about that, I used GetRIL and it showed that the CM7 RIL was from the baseband back in March. Whether it was somehow modified or not I don't know, I want to say I doubt it.
I updated my RIL to the v21f to correspond with my updated July baseband. No issues. To be honest though, can't say I've noticed an improvement in anything, but nice to know it shouldn't be a cause of any errors I experience.

This is not quite correct. The baseband is the firmware in the radio modem. The RIL is how the Android OS communicates with the modem firmware.

does anyone have any insight of where the other 2 RIL's come from the v10c and v10f?

v21f? i see v21e and v10f
last question is does CM use a modifiled RIL of v20c or is it just the same as whats listed here. solves the question of do i need to reflash the phone if running into issues or can RIL just restore the old version.
The v10 is Froyo. The v21-20 is Gingerbread.

My apologies, it was v21e.
If you look at the upcoming CM7 nightly (202), you can see RIL modifications. So I suppose they do.
Hey guys, I just loaded CleanROM 4.5 RC1 and loving it so far. I noticed my baseband version if 2.23.707 now....where before it was 1.85. That's the radio right? What's the difference? I assume 2.23 is better? is their even a newer one still or is that the best?
I'm pretty good with this ROM flashing stuff, but don't quite get radios and the differences. Anybody care to help a newb?
2.23.707
2.23 is the HTC ROM version.
The ROM is a combination of drivers, firmware, applications and the operating system itself.
2.23 includes:
Radio - 0.19as.32.09.09_L_10.104b.32.25L
hboot - 1.14
kernel - 3.0.8-01564
Android - 4.0.4
Newer firmware for adsp, wifi and a whole heap of applications etc.
The HTC ROM version doesn't mean much device to device. Eg a One XL versus a One S.
The 707 is the region. 707 in this case is for Singtel Singapore.
502 would mean AT&T USA
841 Telstra Australia
708 Hong Kong (not carrier branded)
631 Rogers Canada
etc.
For the version they tend to relate across all regions. But mean more when following for just that region.
2.23.707 was intended for Singtel Singapore which previously had 1.88.707.
1.89.841(Telstra) may or may not be an newer or an improvement over 1.88.707.
This thread has a list of radios that were released with certain ROMs.

Find your original one from HERE and flash it
Your mistaken I think your build number probably changed from 185 to 223 your radio is the baseband line and 223 radio starts as 19as and is not included directly in the rom but is available in another post of scotts

There is no such thing as a 2.23 baseband. You need to go back and look at the info again. You are confuising baseband with build number.
2.23 is the software build and release keys. The baseband would be .19 or .18 or something like that.
There is no radio in my ROM. I would never do that. Thats reckless. And if I did do it it would be noted in the op.
Baseband is a lot differnt than softeware build number, lol

Mhm there's the man to clarify the issue himself
And oops the radio thread was someone else! Stock firmwares thread is indeed maintained by Scott tho
If you got 2.23 from HTC it would include all parts of 2.23. Custom roms may only include hand picked portions.
Eg most custom roms only use the os, apps and kernel but not any firmware, like radio etc.

Apologies, your right, I was looking at the wrong version. 2.23 is the build version, not baseband.
Question though: my baseband version 0.17.32.09.12. After flashing CleanROM 4.5 RC1, my phone constantly switches between H and G, and in the about>phone info, it goes from HSPA to HSPAP to UMTS. This doesn't seem normal...it never did this before. SHould I flash a different radio to go with this ROM? Sorry if this is going off on more of a custom ROM tangent!
took both mine and my wifes g2x back to 2.3.4 stock. ran the updated baseband on both but for some reason her's still isn't making/receiving calls. also her baseband is showing jul 15 2011.
i did this to hers last night and didn't bother checking it. now shes on a 8 hour road trip with our 2 girls and has no phone.
i also tried the lg support tool but the phone has a jacked up charger port and would never connect to my computer.
If she has the July 2011 baseband try putting the 2.3.3 ROM on it or if she still has CWM installed flash this on her 2.3.4 ROM and see if it fixes it http://db.tt/abISGgzB

If she's still on the 2011 baseband then any cyanogenmod rom should work as well... her phone wont work because she has a v21e baseband and is running a v21y rom.
This has been the cause of alot of confusion on the forums the last couple months.
Hope it works out.

I'm not positive that is entirely correct, I haven't been around here much but last time I checked that latest CM nightlys only work with the latest 21y baseband.
she's on stock 2.3.4. lets not worry about custom roms cause there is no way im talking her through downloading and installing a rom
what i don't get is i used the same zip file to do both of ours. after doing the exact same thing on both i ran getril and mine passed but heres did not. mine is good with 21y and her's prompted for 21e.
is it just a simple fix of her d/l'ing 21y through getril?

Like I said before she needs a v21e based rom not a v21y based rom.
And no all new cm aren't only for the new baseband.
Just because its a custom rom doesn't mean its any more complex or unstable, in fact with this garbage device the custom roms are more stable than the stock ones as far as I'm concerned.

no go with that one either
but here's the weird part. when she goes into "about phone" it has the july 2011 bb, but when she goes into getril its showing the march 2012 bb
She needs to go with the 21e then. Get ril is wrong, but she needs to go with what about phone states.

yeah 21e isn't working either.
this is about retarded that we are both on the same rom, but mine runs 21y fine and her's won't run 21y or 21e.
guess i'll have to have her install a rom to get up and running.
is there one out there that has gps, mms, and video all working with little to no extra files?
