[Q] Does anyone know how to set up a Linkedin account in the Mango beta? - Windows Phone 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I try to create a linkedin, it says coming soon?

Try to link your linkedin account with your live account.
It will be added automatically.

Got to the following site and there is the option to link it to your live account. That should work.
messenger.live.com

The link between my windows live account and linkedin was already in place for me, but it nevertheless said it's updating be patient. I had to unlink it from my live account, delete the linkedin account from the phone, change the password on my linkedin account, relink it to my live account and then it worked. There are other people in this forum who still couldn't get it to work after all this. You mileage may vary.....

Hmm, ok yea, I'm getting an error where Linkedin says Attention Required, and when I click on it, it says "Something's gone wrong with LinkedIn. Tap fix to change your password" but fix is grayed out, so I tried the steps derausgewanderte suggested and it did the same thing...any other ideas?

that's how mine started "attention required", then I did the unlink, delete, change pw, relink cycle and it worked. I must be really lucky. It may have to do with the fact that I started Mangob2 with a cold boot from scratch. It's possible that there are registry settings carried over that prevent this from working when upgraded from NoDo.

[Q] Facebook Connection and Other Issues

After two weeks with my Focus, I'm obviously loving it. Upgrading from the Tilt has brought new meaning to my life.
Anyway, I've had enough little problems come up that I thought I'd try and get some questions answered by those smarter than I!
Integrated Facebook: Ever since the first day, I've been having issues with my Facebook account. Specifically, under Settings>email & accounts, the Facebook account says "Attention Required." Clicking on the account brings up an error popup that says "Not updated/We're having a problem connecting. Try again later./Last tried 8 hours ago/Error code: 83CF3104." Previously it gave error code "85FB5300." Here's a useless thread I started at MS Answers: http://social.answers.microsoft.com...266a6d0/#53db5744-b48c-4af8-bad5-9fe0fe95f61c It does manage to update FB from time to time, but it's wildly inconsistent.
This isn't that big a deal, but when I go to Facebook.com and login using IE on the phone, I get the "pocket version" which doesn't have any content. "Mobile version" shows up as a link on the page, but nothing is clickable. No biggie since I have the app and integration, just annoying.
IHeartRadio seems to lockup every time I use it. When I navigate away from it and then want to go back, it tries to start, shows the logo, then backs out.
My second most unstable app is Marketplace itself! It behaves exactly the same as above.
Any suggestions would be great! Thanks!
EDIT: Adding #5: Everyone says that I should be able to see an icon to find people on my exchange server, but I haven't been able to ever find it. I create a new email from my Outlook account, then click the "To" field to bring up my address book, but there is no link to my exchange directory. Am I doing something wrong?
do you have ssl enabled in facebook settings? if so, try disabling it.

I don't have an option for SSL in the Facebook account settings on the phone. Is that what you're asking?

I get "search exchange directory" buttons both in email and the people hub. In email, start typing the name of the person you're looking for, and the last entry in the list you get will be the exchange directory. Similarily, using search in the people hub will have exchange as the last possible button.

Yup! That's what I've heard, and what I don't get. I wonder if my company's implementation is messed up.

No... if you have the SSL option enabled on your Facebook account, not on your phone, the people hub will not update.
Seems to be an issue with the Focus as other WP7 users have not seen this issue,
I've looked every where I can in the phone and cannot see where the settings are that control the Facebook feed.
Log into Facebook via your web browser and disable the SSL setting under your security options.
For anyone still suffering this problem, I found a solution:
SOLUTION (from http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...83cf0108/4c4c7887-2b8b-4a83-b816-bf26e265fe17)
I went through my People Hub, opening every contact that had no picture to see what account they were in. Most of them were contacts from my Live account, but ONE was a Facebook contact. (Per the thread above, Facebook connection problems can be caused by a friends' corrupt profile picture.) I went to her profile online (where the picture showed up fine) and unfriended her. I had to wait several hours for her to disappear from my People Hub, but once she did I immediately went to Settings>Email & Accounts and, for the first time ever, saw the Facebook account with no error message!
As I said, I have been suffering this error message since day 1, although I've seen at least 4 distinct error codes (85FB4400, 85FB5300, 83CF3104, 83CF0108). I tried deleting and restoring the Facebook account, deleting and restoring the Facebook app, changing my Facebook password, logging out of Facebook on my PC, all to no avail. I never performed a factory reset, because I've installed all of my apps from the Marketplace (not Zune), and was not eager to hunt them all down again (please tell me this is another WP7 bug that is being fixed).
Hope this helps others! I've refreinded her and she's changed her profile pic in the last few weeks, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
I had the problem with facebook too a few months back. Turned out to be one profile picture that appeared as a red x. Unfriended and the error went away for me too.
Yeah, re-adding her as a friend and the problem is back. Hoping she changes her pic soon.

[Q] Facebook chat

I have a windows phone but am currently having problem using Facebook chat on it. It keeps saying "No one is online" even though in my Facebook on my laptop says otherwise. I have linked it with my windows live account, synced both my windows live account and Facebook account on my phone already, and also ensured that battery saver is turned off. But I still get the same message. Can someone help me? Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!
Have you tried logging in via the web on a PC to live.com, clicked on profile, and then checked that under 'connected to' (left hand side) that facebook is there?
If you can see that, click on 'Manage' and then click on 'Edit' under the facebook listing, and check 'Chat with Facebook friends' is selected.
Then sync your account again. Some people had to 'go offline' and then 'available' again, and wait up to two hours. Have a read of this thread for more detail:
http://forums.create.msdn.com/forums/t/85843.aspx?PageIndex=1
Hope that helps. Good luck with it.

[Q] Facebook Broken!

Hello,
The Facebook website decided that I needed to change my password yesterday, at the same time it asked me if I wanted to change my login email address and I did, so I did. The upshot was that I now had a new Facebook login email address and password, neither of which my HTC Mozart was aware of.
Facebook stopped working, but wouldn't let me change the login in email address, so I deleted it. Except it won't delete and it says the problem might be with Windows Live. But there isn't a problem with the Windows Live website, I've got that linked to the Facebbok account properly.
Error code is 0x83cf1202
Any ideas what I can do to get Facebook off the phone so I can log back in with the correct details?
Thanks!
delete your Facebook account from your phone, go to your Windows Live account on your computer/laptop and remove it from there also or un accosiate it and start over from sratch on your phone.
The phone isn't letting me delete the Facebook account on my phone, it spits out the error code I stated above.

Okay I see, then you'll have to go into your windows live account and remove or disable any refrence to your facebook account. It happened to me way back and I had to do it a few times before it took.

lfacebook error (102 & 104)

Then maybe it's a problem with the facebook server? Wait for sometime and see if it corrects itself...
i hope so. thanx for your time mate.
any1 knows how to solve it? now i'm convince that it's not the fb server, it's fb account related, logging in using my friend acc, it got no problem.

If you are able to log in to your friend's account on your device, then we can be sure about the following:
1. Facebook app is working fine.
2. No ROM issue. (because you can log in from another account)
3. Facebook server in your region is up and running.
So that leaves us with only one potential culprit - your Facebook account. Try logging in to your Facebook on PC, and under account settings or Privacy settings, see if can find some kind of setting that you (or stupid facebook) may have changed by mistake....which may be causing your woes.
done but still no joy. matching the same setting with my friend acc and for the sake of trying, i'd even change my e-mail and password that looks like my friend acc. i'm pulling my hair coz of this problem.
searching the nett i found that this problem already exist a long time ago.
again thank for your time enigmaamit.
error 104 signature issue fix!
I think I got it! Go to settings/accounts & sync/select facebook and remove account. Then re log back into facebook app, worked for me! Good luck!
thanx for the reply. did that also but installing FBM, logging into htcsense via htc likes made FB 1.82 (previously not working) works. don't know if there's a connection but it works.
