Major issues with my Sensation - HTC Sensation

I have had my sensation for 3 weeks now i believe. And a fe things have bothered me first of it heats up like wtf im texting why is it so ****in hot? Then i just recently noticed that if i touch the outer edges of the screen around the middle it makes a little sqeekey noise? As if the main body of the phone isnt properly in the unibody back piece. This is something i dont like it makes the phone feel less secure. Also sometime when i press the power/unlock button on the phone and the phone shows the unlock screen half the screen is black and i can only see the top half its very eirie. And hard to explain. Also on the main home page some times widgets get lines in them like old school TV's used to get those lines of tri color. Its really annoying. Is there any way I can acreen shot.

Dust under glass? anyone else have this problem?

picked up 2 Nexus S on release day, went home happy. Preoccupied with work, so I only powered them up last night.
To my Surprise, both phones have dust under the glass! WTF Samsung? Removed the plastic sheet on the front to make sure, and yes, it's under the glass.
on one phone the dust was smack in the middle, while on the other phone it was a little left of the middle.
Can't be seen on a dark screen, but once you switch to a white background like the web or texting you can see it.
I know I am probably being OCD and anal about this, but heck I paid over $1k for both phones out of contract.
Went back to BestBuy and returned them promply, of course now they are sold out, and I have to wait for the next shipment.
Just wondering if others have similar experiences? BTW, I also had a Galaxy Tab and before returned it, it also had some dust specs under the glass...
I also own an HD2 and G2, seems HTC is better at QC.
Shame, really want this phone but WTF samsung?
Nope you sure its under the glass?

No dust under the screen here.
It seems that this first batch of phones is a rather mixed bag; some have defects and others are fine. It was a good idea to return them, hopefully your replacements will be free of issues.
My first S had a little speck of something. I initially thought it was a dead pixel, but I could see it when the screen was off also so I assumed it was dust. I returned it and checked the next one out before I left the store and it seems to be good.

100% sure, remove the screen protectors on both of them and rubbed the area where it was, thought it was a dead pixel too, but no it was fine on a dark background, but on a white background could see it easily.
sold out at my local bb, but still available online might go that route.
just wanted to see other people's experiences or maybe they didnt notice yet, lol.

this happen when you have 2 layers for the screen. the internal part and the upper part where you touch.
there is an advantage for this. if god forbid you dropped and broke the screen, only the upper part gets replaced. and wouldnt cost you much to do so " and you wont get another screen with dead pixel and being OCD whatever the new screen is good or not. because the actuall inner screen isnt touched.
the bad thing about is what you said. dust can enter in the middle between both layers of the screen.
even if you get a new nexus S without dust under the screen, if you leave it in the open area with sun and wind always hitting it, you will get a dust somehow inside as well. so make sure your phone is in a pocket most of the time.
the only phone i remember right now that had both layers of the screens touched as 1 part is the iphone 2G and the iphone 4 " i am sure there are others but i dont know "
this result to no dust under the screen no matter what " unless the dust came from factory while they were attaching both screens on top of each other and glue them "
but if you break your screen in the iphone 4.... god help you.
Yeah, after about a week and couple of days of usage, I've got my first spec of dust in the top left area of the screen. Really, it's nothing noticeable but I do have some sort of OCD with my phone (god help me if I get a visible scratch on the screen).
I don't think it's really worth taking it back to get it changed as this Nexus S I have currently has no problems whatsoever, I don't even have the pink or yellow screen issue with this one. I think I'm just gonna have to live with that one spec of dust for now...
I think this may be just bad QC. I looked at ifixit taking apart the NS. Basically they said the trickiest part to the disassembly was the screen, and they had to use a heat gun to soften the glue just to separate the 2 screens. So dust entering between those 2 screens would be pretty difficult unless the glue wasn't properly applied from the assembly line.

I don't have dust under my Nexus S screen... but I do have dust under my front facing camera! And its only recently just got there - I remember playing around with it extensively when I first got it 6 months ago and the camera was really clear and sharp.
Now it is all fuzzy and white haze. And I can see all the dust particles on the underside of the glass. Annoying!
Anyone know if there's an easy way to clean it? Or is it a case of back to Samsung?

I'm starting to think dust under the screen is normal...

Yesterday I checked out my friends brand new iphone 4 and he has dust under the screen, another friend has dust under the screen on his htc inspire 4g, another has dust under the screen of her iphone 3gs, another has dust under the screen of his droid x.
I never really looked closely for dust under the screen of ANY of the previous phones I have purchased, but I started becoming paranoid about it on the sensation because of the thread I saw here on XDA.
It seems like it's a fairly common thing and something we are just stressing over too much. I don't know.
I agree, I can find dust on a lot of phones .. unless seen during normal usage I don't care...
To be honest, it really isn't. It is a manufacturing issue that should be addressed by HTC. My iPod Touch 4TH gen has been in and out of my pant pockets for the past 7 months now and I still don't see a single speck of dust under the glass. My sensation wasn't so lucky. I put this phone in those same pockets and within 5 days I saw a few specks of dust.
This seriously cannot be normal.
Normal? This problem have plagued htc phones since winmo days. I'm not saying phones don't get dusty but htc consistently have this problem.
OP absolutely not a normal thing.

I've owned htc touch pro 1 &2 g1 nexus one mytouch 3g slide and 4g + now a sensation not a single one has had dust under the screen. It's Definitely not normal

Since when another phone having dust under the screen makes it acceptable!? Its like when Apple said that all phones experience the death grip issue and it is perfectly fine for the iPhone4 to lose signal!
Ive owned 10 + HTC's and its not normal at all.
You could after the warranty just open it up as its an easy fix for most phones. Or one could not put it in their pocket as its the most likely place it comes from. How cool would you be with strutting your stuff with a sensational belt clip ?
I have no dust underneath the screen of my phone and I have had it about a week.
After 18 months my HD2 still has no dust under the screen, however I noticed a few spec of dust under the screen on my Sensation as I took it out of the box.
There is also a very small (0.2 mm or so) gap at the bottom end of the phone between the case and the screen where I can see down the side of the screen.
Luckily a quick call to Vodafone Costomer Services and they're sending a new handset out by courier to replace this one
I don't think it's normal... It was normal 10 years ago when our standards were A LOT lower, but now it shouldn't happen.
I don't expect dust in my computer screen, or my camera screen, so why have it here
Not normal at all for me either. My N1 and Touch didn't have dust. This POS replacement I got today does.
OhMyGod!!
Now I have a lot of dust under the screen and I think it ot in through the space betwwen the display and the frame. It is now very visible how large this space is. They should have blockd this space with something. I really do not appreciate this from HTC.
It is design flow, SIMPLE!!!!
I just don't understand how they keep on having the same flaw.
It´s not normal at all! I remember last having this issue with old Nokia phones (6230i etc.) Since iPhone 3G times (see my signature) I never noticed this issue on a single phone! But my Sensation Now it´s on warranty repair and as it returns I sell it immediately.
Just got a new sensation back after having the dust problem and the replacement has a nice black dot under the LCD screen that can be seen under dark colours....
Really not happy at all....
So more time without a phone...

Dust under the screen

Coming from a mytouch 4g, I had heard the horror stories, but haven't experienced this myself until today, when I noticed a fair amount of dust underneath the screen that seems to be coming from the corner closest to the genius button.
Now, I would and should send it in for warranty... But I love this phone right now. Unlike the other mt4gs that I have had to warranty (about three total I think), this was the only one that was perfect. The buttons are nice and click and responsive (none of the other ones had any decent feedback) and the phone is solidly built (a couple of the other ones felt like the screen was too far away from the keyboard, causing a huge gap or unwanted movement when the keyboard was closed).
also, I've heard some horror stories about the newest phones and the new radios and firmware, etc. I don't know what to do. Has anyone else noticed the screen issue?

I've had my phone covered in drywall dust, none of it got under my screen

i had the mt3g slide that i bought on ebay with a fair amount of dust under the screen, but it never seemed to get worse until the screen and trackpad died 8 months after i bought it, now it's getting plenty of dust on the outside of the screen sitting there like a brick.
i've had the mt4gs since about 4 weeks after the release and i use it heavily daily, and not a speck of dust under the screen. now the faux chrome bezel already has some chips gone from a relatively low drop on concrete (partially softened by the top of my foot on the way down too), so i'm not real impressed with the plastic quality there since i've had other phones that have taken hits worse than that and not show a scratch, but it seems like they did a much better job with the 4gs screen than the 3gs.
I've got dust under my screen. Its fairly minimal but eventually it will bother me enough to get it replaced. Its pretty concentrated to the lower left corner of the screen

I have a zipper case I keep it in while it's in my pocket, I haven't had a problem with dust yet.
If you look behind the screen-half of the phone, at the end of the slide channels you will see two places where the light from the screen shines through. I forget who pointed this out first but someone on the boards did before here.
This is what prompted me to get a case for it, with a zipper, to keep the dust out.
Yes I have the same amount and location of dust. It's not affecting me right now, but it's drag to know it's there.
With my old Nokia phones I was able to open them up and clean the screen, but they were resistive screens. Is there any difference on capacitive screens?
I wouldn't Worry about dust to much. Just put in it a sock while its in your pocket. That's what I do.

[Q] Sensation Screen advice?

I have an original sensation and love it. Today it fell from my pocket onto tiles. Which is was about a 32inch height. . . .didn't seem to serious. At first the only damage seemed a tiny 2mm chip spot on the casing which had exposed white. But then I saw my screen!! The top left hand corner had the back light looking a bit too strong from off screen. And even worse there were permanant speckles of black in an arc shape around that corner of the screen. Then I tried rubbing it a bit and squeezing the back and slightly seperating it as I taught the fall may have changed the spacing. and at first it seemed to help maybe a little. But now there is a small section of my screen at the corner which is always black and I don't think the bacjlight is on their . The touch screen still works all over though and their are no cracks.
Anyone know what's wrong? What I can do to fix it? Any help greatly appreciated
Broken screen. Most probably the digitizer is ok. Go to a HTC repair shop, if you still have warranty
Sent from my HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio using Tapatalk
Thanks for the reply but surprisingly and miraculously its fixed itself over the last couple days
. It only went back to fully looking normal in the past few hours. Backlight is still a bit too bright in that area and some damage comes back if the are is hit or pressed.
So there is still some damage but 98% of the time it looks perfect and its fully working. So anyone reading this bear in mind not to be too hasty about taking your phone apart and replacing stuff where the screen is concerned.

Help me out?

Alright guys. Here's the deal. This is my fourth warranty replacement for a faulty flexing screen. So, I'd like you guys to do a little test for me and see if it really IS the phone that's broken, or if that happens on all phones.
Please, if you could, do some medium-hard pressing in the middle of the screen (Not too hard, as you'll break it), and around the middle of the screen. Also, if you could, try the edges and see how easy it is to cause rippling along the edges (Mine takes fairly light pressure to get rippling). I'm noticing that there are BIG ripples in the center of the screen with some medium pressure. Is this normal? if this shouldn't be happening, I'm gonna freak out on AT&T.
Thanks guys!
Nothing on mine no matter how hard I press

I have the same problem as well I have a defender otterbox case, and when I press on the right side moderately easy it flexes, I see 1 line against white background I am the middle of the screen. The if I press a tad bit harder on the right side I get 2 ripple lines. I do not get it when I press in the middle or on the left side. Screen flex is an issue with the one x. Do some searching and you will see.. I might send mine in to square trade as mine is not going away..anyone think I will get refunded by square trade for screen flex flaw.?
Can't reproduce this through normal usage on mine, nor see a reason where this would be an issue for me.

It's the case.reviewers have mentioned that the otterbox cases might be pushing too hard on the screen as it proturdes out...
Better off with tpu cases like.. cruzaline?
There are non branded ones for like 2 bucks on eBay. Protects camera and screen well enough.
Used that on my desire HD for almost 2 years. Not one visible scratch...
Have dropped my one x like 6 times now, and I dolt have to worry much. The phone is protected in all areas. Unless I drop it on really unbalanced grouns flat on it's screen.
But then again, the one x screen can also work as a hammer, if youve ever seen that vid.

Are you referring to display distortion? If so, i have not had that. If you are talking about how firm the screen is glued to the shell, then I do have a mild defect on the form and fit but I haven't deemed it for replacement yet.
