So here's the deal my account information got stolen from ausurion 2 times already within this last year. The first time it was used to get a mytouch 4g and now a G2x. I had the phone not even a month and a claim was opened on the 23rd and they recieved the phone the 24th.
I called ausurion and they gave me a tracking number and its says the phone was delivered to Brooklyn NY, i live in Delaware. I'm very furious that my info got stolen so i called T-Mobile and asked if they can let me out of contract of course they said no and they said that's its not there fault.
This is identity theft and I'm letting you guys know be careful with your info with ausurion. I don't know what to do. Anybody have any advice? I want to leave T-Mobile because i no longer feel safe. Any advice would be appreciated.

Damn that sucks bro, sorry to hear that. You know like last week I got a random text saying I can install the sec app from Tmobile twice(Was thinking and hoping it was a text for gb update). Makes me wonder if it has anything to do with it. I NEVER get text from tmob unless my bill is late and they want their money. I dunno but I don't think I'm gonna be downloaded the app or giving any info to my insurance unless they already have it of course. D=

Yea I told them that and they said that people get there phone sent to different address all the time. I know its BS.
what's also BS is that I told them that I don't trust them with my information, so I asked if they can terminate my contract without me paying the termination fee and they said no, because they have nothing to do with it, the Rep said asurion is 100% liable.

he is right, asurion is the one you should be going after, they are the ones completely liable for this situation... if you can prove all that you are claiming then it should not be that hard to push them around or if at worse you could take them to court... better yet if you can find other people who have had a similar problem to you then you could make a big case out of it and get them in a lot of trouble, especially if there is identity theft involved

This is a first time post here on the xda forums. I know what you mean, I had the same thing happen to me a few months ago. I received a text from tmobile telling me I need to be sure to send back my damaged device in-order to prevent me from being charged full retail. This was on my BB 9780. I told them it wasn't me, and they wouldn't tell me where it was sent due to "security" purposes despite it being MY account and information they used to get it. All they would tell me was it was not sent in to the state of Texas which is where I live. Pretty much what happened to you is the same... except since I made a claim a REAL one within a year, plus the false claim that they gained my info that was 2 time claim...... insurance was canceled...

There are bad apples in every bunch. I know that Asurion will be eager to fix any real issues. I have contacted the op but have not received any details. I plan on notifying them about potential abuse/theft later today. Without details it is hard to follow up and make the changes nessesary to avoid this in the future. Without details this is just another thread on the internet.
I got a text from T-Mobile asking that I visit some site since I'm an insured customer. Pretty sure I'll just ignore it since I've never had issues in the past.
Oh, and I live at a different address than my bill goes to. I cannot get upgrades sent to my address, but I can get warranty replacements sent here. Seems like if it's a warranty replacement they don't care where it goes. Which is fine in my situation since I live about 1200 miles from where my bills are sent.

No, that's a legit text. Tmo changed the insurance plans and now you get mobile security for free if you have the insurance. The text just informs you that you can download the apply (which you can find in the market as "mobile security T-Mobile."

yes the same thing happened to me earlier this year i recieved a text stating that i need to send in the damage handset, in which ended up being fraud and they fixed it. again yesterday i recieved the same text i said " oh no not this again" and for sure it was the same thing but this time i got a tracking number and seen that it was delivered to someone in ny. and for sure because to many claims were made so they cancelled my insurance.

no its a text stating that the damaged phone need s to sent in. your thinking of something else.
Asurion handles insurance claims for all of the other carriers too, except for a couple of small ones. If the leak is at Asurion (which honestly, sounds like it is) you're not getting away from anything.
You can only do 2 claims per year with Asurion, warranty exchanges thru T-Mobile are pretty much unlimited speaking from experience.

I brought this mytouch off Craigslist by trading with my G2. The phone is starting some problems as with not turning the screen on when after a phone call and I got the bad screen on it.
Now I don't know if this phone is stolen or not or the person got it from the insurance by claiming Its lost.
Now do you think T-Mobile will exchnage it? I can't deal with the screen not turning on anymore so yeah.

I am sure this is the reason the owner sold it in first place, I bet the person gave you lame story about how he changed carrier or got it as gift or some BS and he already has something lol so he didn't need it.
This is why I warn folks about buying jack from eBay or Craigslist when first batch came out month ago that means alot of inferior device that shouldn't have passed QC got though. Your best bet is going via HTC device warranty as TMo itself will not honor yours as they have no proof of this device was valid transaction linked to your account. Also the remorse period is only though TMo not by 3rd party individuals.
Thanks for the reply Mr.HKM, He told me he had 2 of these and he wanted to get rid of it so I'm guessing he used the insurance company to get another by saying it was lost.
Is it worth a shot with T-Mobile? or Should I call up HTC tomrrow and see what they can do? The thing is, I don't want to be left phoneless though, that's the only thing that's going to be bad for me.
Would my best bet be selling it back on Craigslist and getting another one?
I bought my HD2 off craigslist and transfered my insurance to it by calling tmo and asking them if I could. It was originally the insurance I had on my touch pro 2. My nexus one was insured by that other company.
I never had to use it on the hd2 so I don't know how that would work. After I bought the MT4G I had the guy at the store transfer my insurance to it.
Its worth a shot calling tmo. From my experience they are wing willing to work with you.

Maybe prick got it buy one get one free though adding family members with contract. Best place to buy it now is though TMo as like you I also considered buying it via CL/eBay but after I saw the rate of bad display, ffc, creaky buttons I decide it to just shall out the full $450 and get it without contract. Didn't want the hassle as I lost my HD2 and was left with dumbphone lol trust me its no fun.
Well this is what you can do just skip it all as TMo will not help you so just contact HTC rep and request RMA for it. While you are sending it go to local TMo store and get "loner" phone while its taken care of. You can contact the seller but I am sure the prick will ignore you as kid will be like its your problem now.
Update: Do as MvP77 said then first with TMo it won't hurt long as you get it taken care of if not then you become the prick and get it of your hand ASAP by selling it to someone else lol
Ugh I looked at T-Mobile website about device warranty under T-Mobile and it looks like you cannot transfer warranties from another customer. Pretty much bumed out at this point.
Should I post of on Craigslist asap and get rid of it and buy another one and risk getting a **** screen and or just keep this?
I flashed iced galicer on it and the screen comes on after a call so I'm just worried about the screen for now.

I have known and helped people who bought through ebay or craigslist get a replacement through T-Mo. It's not a fool proof way but it has worked for some.
First thing is hopefully you are a T-Mo customer? Then don't use the online chat, call them on the phone. Just ask for Tech support. Here is what you are trying to accomplish, you need to get your IMEI # in their system to have a chance. So since this device came out with a OTA (Over the Air update) the same day it launched it is a plus for you. If your IMEI # is not in the system you will never get the update. So when you call and get to the rep just explain to him you are having some problems with very poor battery life and your video chat is not working properly, poor signal etc. Tell him you knew there was a OTA update but you have never received it, and you want to see if this will fix your problems first before deciding on a warranty replacement. If they ask you where you got it tell them you got it from a T-Mobile Store and you bought it full price. Whatever you do don't tell them craigslist. Stay firm on you buying it in a store no matter how many times they ask. Now the above might not even come up but be prepared in case. Noe tell the tech support rep could he please make sure that your IMEI number is correct in their system as you have never received the update. Your number might be in there and it might not. Likely it is not. I had one that was wrong for a whole month from when I changed from my G2. They will ask you for your number and give it to them. If they don't find it they will try to put it in. If the IMEI number is not in their database they will tell you also and ask where you bought it. Stick to the plan. Tell them you don't know why it's not in their system all you did is buy it in their store it should be in the system and you paid full price for it it better be in the system. now I have actually had this happen on one of my early replacements. And I really did get it from a store. They finally said they could manually enter it and override the system. Now if you get this done your almost there. Tell them thank you and you will be waiting for the update and hopefully it fixes the issues if not you will call back. Wait a day or two. The call back and when you here the automated attendant say cancel. This gets you to a higher level rep. Tell the about the problems and you are disappoint that you paid full price and now you have all these problems and the OTA update did not correct them. You are loosing data connection and they stay off for long periods of time. Tell them you have already been to a store and they changed your SIM card and that you have already talked to tech support and factory master reset with them twice and they said it is defective. You said you would give it another chance but it did not get any better. Now hopefully they will process you a exchange and send it to you and then you send yours back..
I hope this help and you get a good one. If all else fails go through HTC.

I've bought a few different phones off Craigslist and got them all exchanged through warranty. As long as its still under the manufacturers warranty they should exchange it. All they did was look up the imei to verify its still under warranty. This is my experience with T-Mob, so I don't see why you shouldn't be able to exchange it. Now, if its a stolen or lost phone, they might not. Let us know how it goes for you. Hope you get a good one.

as long as you have insurance which is 5.99 a month for the php bundle then it will cover the phone...just call in do troubleshooting and hey will replace it as long as there not liquid damage or physical damage....u dont pay anything not even shipping and hanlding
Alright, I'm going to give it a shot today.
This took ne at a surprise, I went and logged on to my T-Mobile and it shows the white mytouch as my phone... so I'm guessing they already know I have a mytouch?

For someone like me that switches phones alot and usually pays full or close to full price the insurance its nice. It would suck if it was like sprints insurance where you gotta pay a deductible.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
I think T-Mobile does also make you pay a deductible also. Not sure, but I do change phones a lot and not sure if insurance would cover non T-Mobile phones like the iPhone.
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA App
Lockeskidney not everyone sells there soul by signing 2year contract and having to pay more than its actually worth. Now lets say this as I never considered insurance. I usually buy the device without contract at full price from valid vendor now if I lose it how much is the deductible? I am sure everyone ATM here some how doing insurance fraud false claiming it as lost.
I am furious at this point with t-mobile because they will not let me get the only even exchange phone with the sensation. The only thing I have the option of getting is the mytouch 4g which sucks in my opinion because I am losing alot of money then. The only thing I want is the sensation and I am literally overwhelmed that retention and loyalty wouldnt exchange after I have been a customer for over a decade.
Doesn't really require your own thread.
Each CS rep is different. Keep calling until you have a decent rep. Tell them you paid $500 for a dual core phone and that is what you are looking for. Say that offers were G2x+$50=Sensation.
Refurbs aren't going to solve anything. Your just getting everyone elses screen bleeds and other issues.
Refurbs won't be a good solution until they fix the issues and have better replacements.
I guess be polite and level headed and focus on solutions rather then ranting about problems.

Dude, do you know how many times I called until I found a rep willing give me the Sensation for free and keep my G2X while remaining contract free. First, you need to get into the retention department which sounds like you already have and then you need to find a rep willing to get a supervisor to override what the computer is telling them. I did have extenuating circumstances so don't expect to get the same deal I got.
Here is why there not readily willing to do a deal where you give them back your G2X, pay the extra $50 and walk away with the Sensation. They can't do anything with the G2X so they have to eat the cost of the Sensation. LG will not let T-Mobile send phones back to them outside of the 30 day return policy. I have had more than 5 reps tell me the same thing and I started to believe it after the one who gave me the Sensation told me to keep the G2X because there is nothing they can do with it.
To be completely honest, if they would just give us whatever phone we want at the discounted contract price, I'd probably be ok with that.
Sometimes you buy lemons, gents. Welcome to technology.
If it helps I called T-Mobile Corporate last week and finally got a call back today. After speaking with the guy, he finally offered the Sensation and sent it out today. Hopefully you'll be fine with CM7
My phone is crap on T-mobile's rom and the GB leaked ROM. I believe its my phone consistently fails/reboots/laggy. However it doesn't freeze, just gets hot and reboots. No APN issues on stock, actually just good with APN.
CM7 did stabilize my phone. Only issue that refuses to go away is the hot battery. Just have to deal with it. Happens on MyTouch 4G also, but the G2X just gets so hot its ridiculous.
Hope you have better luck.
Also I don't wanna piss off T-Mobile customer service. I do plan to exchange my phone when they release new batch of good phones. Its pointless to exchange now because its like a lottery. And those who did get Sensation exchanged for G2X, lucky you. I guess thats a case by case basis.
After being treated like crap with customer service, I wrote a well worded letter and sent it to all the big wigs at TMobile corporate figuring I would finally get the sensation for free (if they valued my service). I asked for the sensation at no charge or for them to let me out of my contract since they continue to give me a faulty phone. An exec called me today and stated that they would accept the $50 upgrade but they would do no more. She also said they would not let me out of contract. When I mentioned filing a complaint with the BBB, she said she looks into all complaints from them and that she would not be calling me back and the offer would no longer be valid!!! Now that is guts. No wonder they have been slipping in service year after year......
Should I just pay the $50 for the sensation?

Hi guys,
So about 3 1/2 months ago my SGS3 was lost and now I've got it back. Guess someone felt guilty. Any way, some insurance calls and $130 later, I got a replacement phone and have been using that 'til recently. So my question is, is it possible to give my "lost" phone to a family member to use? I remember them blocking the IMEI number, but I've heard countless stories about people still being able to use "lost and unlocked" phones. What'll happen if I do end up giving it to my brother?
Any suggestions would be great. It would be a pain in my wallet to return a phone I once bought before, and I can't return this replacement phone either.
To keep things legit, that's gonna be a question for your insurance company. Technically the have replaced your "lost" phone.... But now you have it. Don't get yourself in trouble over something like that.
Probably need to make sure the esn is clear. If the phone was reported stolen, the esn will identify it as such.

Either contact the insurrance firm, either use it as an giant ipod. Think about it as being CDMA and u have only GSM available
I think that once it's locked you can't unlock the imei.
But try to contact you insurance anyway
You have to have it removed from the blocked list which only the insurance company can do, but if you read the fine print it covers what you need to do which is send back it to them.
As for changing the IMEI. This is illegal and talking about it is against XDA rules

So I have been having a bad experience with T-Mobile. I just moved into a new house with my girl and son and I have the worst service. "Light Green" they called it...I only get 4G 20% of the time, with dropped called, missing texts or texts that take a couple hours to day to get to me, so I tried to get the cancellation fee waived, i went into T-Mo and they said they would send a request. I recieved a letter in the mail about 15 days after, saying that I was Declined and that I can just go outside in my car, or on the sidewalk to make a phone call or to get 4G....WTF MATE!?
Heres where it gets retarded...So I didnt really have a credit score when I initially signed up for T-Mobile. So I had to pay a deposit fee or whatever of $200 bucks...They said i would get that back after 1 year of paying. The day it became 1 year i called T-Mo. They said they would send it to my bank account and sent the request in. About 9 days later I get a phone call from an automated message saying my account wasnt eligible...So I went into the T-Mobile store and talked to them, and they couldnt give me a straight answer, so they called customer service and asked them to send me a visa card with the $200. 2 days after i check my account online and they credidted my T-Mo account and paid that months bill???!!!
I was pissed So I went into the store and I told them i did not ask for that and i asked why they would do this, they couldn't tell me why...So they sent a request to refund my tmo account then to send me the $200 to a visa AGAIN. About 2 weeks later I get $102.93 in the mail...They denied my request to refund me and still paid my bill and sent me the remainder.....And at the time i really needed the money.
I said screw them and I havent paid my bill it was due almost 2 weeks ago, and there about to shut me off. I planned on switching to Simple Mobile but when I called primetime to see prices and stuff they told me if i have a balance with tmobile that they would decline me...Metro also uses tmobiles network and walmart uses tmobiles network....
So my question is what can I do to get service on this phone? What plans do I have available, because I don't really plan on paying t-mobilem they can go screw. Im done with there BS.

Will T-Mobile lock this phone since I haven't paid? I'm trying to get a service plan I can use with this phone. I don't need data, I'm on WiFi most of the time where ever I go. So if I switch to air voice or at&t I would just pop in the sim card and be good to go?

They might look it if you have any remaining balance on the phone as in the monthly $15 payment for the device or did you pay it off full when you got it?

I don't know a free way. But I know some shops unlock them for like $15. Online you can get the same price. But make sure you get a real one and not those stupid scams.

T-Mobile gives it to you for free but if I were you I'd ask that friend to who has t-mobile to call them just give him you imei and they could get it for you because t-mobile might ask you to pay off your balance

Yeah that sounds like it would work, they don't ask what type of phone? Or Account name? I just checked out this YouTube video from cellunlocker.net, looks legit and only want like $7 to unlock.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi91arwkzxY&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I also checked out airvoice, do I even need to unlock it for them? They state there service works on any android phone and don't mention unlocking. I've never had to unlock any of my phones so I'm kinda new to this.

Maybe something like this could work for the blaze, it works on a lot of Samsung phones. Be worth a try. Just find right radio / ROM combo .

Awesome! Lots of people are saying it worked for them.
Just have to be on stock ROM , I'm going to start flashing and trying until I find one that works. Will post results, or if you get it working first let us know. :good:

Will do, still have to order a sim card. I will buy it either tomorrow or Monday and probably get it within a week or 2, otherwise I would have already tried it. The process seems pretty straight forward though and if it works on the S2, I don't see why it wouldn't work for us blazers but you never know.
You have to unlock for air voice it runs on att's network

i hope i got here in time.
T-Mob won't unlock your phone for three reason:
1. you don't have any outstanding balance
2. the devices has to be used on your line for 1 or 2 weeks
3. your line has to be in good standing and active for 40 days.
But if anybody who has t-mob tried to call and get the imei unlock code for your phone, i wouldn't suggest it as they may either have to send in the bills that shows you paid full price for the phone or the devices is used on their line for 7 days.
Also, from what you're stating, you probably didn't communicate clearly with T-Mob store rep, but sometime, you just have to find the right person, tell them stright off what happen and keep it simple and you'll be clear.
and as for the $200, i'm not surprised they had you put it in, and you DO have credit scores. they can come from any sources. the Public Library keeps one, getting a loan from any sources used under your SSN will affect your credit scores. any past debts unpaid will affect it as well. renting a house also affect it.
and i'm not sure, but if they're suppose to put it back into your account, and it haven't, it normally mean that someone screw up. and if i were you, i'm certain it isn't T-Mob that screw you over but the local place. if they have to call customer services, that mean they're a 3rd party store representing T-Mob. I would suggest you head back to the original place you got your phone and plan and speak to the person in charge. they might be the one refusing to give you the money, not t-mob.

What I meant when I said I didn't really have a credit score was because I never really had any bills under my name at the time of signing up with t-mo.
Trust me I communicated with them just fine...the person who I talked to in the store was the person who set me up with them, she's a really nice lady, so I know it wasn't her doing. I had originally called customer service to get my deposit back. They sent in the requst to fund my bank account originally. The lady at the t-mo store did everything correctly and showed me exactly what she did on the computer and I even talked to one of the account specialists.
It was T-Mobile being pricks. They didn't want to give me the money or at least not the whole thing, which was clear from what they were doing. They stated my bank account not being eligible in an automated message and because it wasn't "eligible" for absolutely no reason they put the money in my t-mo account instead and paid that months bill before I could even do anything and there was still 13 days till i had to pay the bill. Then denied my request to get my money back that they used to pay the bill, and denying the cancellation fee request for crappy unreliable service and telling me in a letter that I can go out in my car or the sidewalk to call and use 4g which still didn't work all that great outside.
This is definitely T-Mobiles fault not customer service. There money hungry a-holes and don't care for the customer as a whole.

Huh. you and i have two different experiences when it came to dealing with T-Mob. They tried to overcharge me once, but they credit my account.
I guess, our two experiences are different.
However, I would suggest you go speak to that lady and ask her what happen if you unlock your phone to use on other network if you still have outstanding account with T-Mob.
I started a new AT&T account on around Aug 12th or so. For the 1st time in my life they didn't ask me for a deposit. They sent me 2 refurb phones the next day. I had the phones in hand & using them My wife & I decided on Aug 20th we wanted to port our Straight Talk numbers over. I called the Porting department & they had to send new Sim cards because AT&T & ST are so intertwined. They said my 1st bill might double because the system may think I reordered again, but it would go away. I made my first months payment on 8-30. I tried tonight to buy the Note 3 online. The system said I have this past due amount and it has to be taken care of first. I got online chat for billing help. The lady said tonight said they added a $445 deposit on my acct. She said the payment I made went on the deposit & not on the bill. She even said that I called in on 8-20 asking for the deposit to be waived. I told her no that I called that day to port our two numbers. I told her I haven't heard of a deposit till she told me.
I'm going to call in tomorrow during regular business hours to see what can be done. Has anyone else ever had any issues like this?
It sounds weird, because a deposit usually must be paid before service even starts, not at first billing. Kinda defeats the purpose of a deposit. I would ask them what day the deposit amount was assessed to the account. If it was added the day you inquired about porting, inquire why it was added a week post service, and how service was even started without it.
I have been with AT&T for 11 years, and never have any billing issues. In fact, they always waive my upgrade fees.
Have had ATT for 2 years and if I customer service is what I paid for it has been worth it.I always get what I want when I call them.have had 4 pushed upgrades and never had to b nasty to get them.

Update: I got a hold of a guy named Rusty with AT&T today. He was super. My credit was good enough to get up to 3 lines without a deposit. When we ported our 2 ST numbers over; the AT&T system saw 4 numbers which automatically kicked in a $445 deposit. Rusty said it should be remedied by Monday. He's going to check it Mon morning & call me back. He asked me if I was satisfied with today's service & I said I give it an A+
I agree. I've had nothing but good things to say about Att. Always call those online people are kinda slow at helping.

Good to hear you got it all fixed up.
i think att is wonderful. My phone had been stolen last thursday and i called in to get my phone blacklisted. The CSR offered to give me an override upgrade even when I wasnt eligible for one. Now that is customer service!
Once per month. When I pay the bill.
You should be good. I've had AT&T for 17yrs. (AT&T>Cingular>AT&T) I've never really been disappointed w/them.
Conversations & dialogue have gotten a little "interesting" on occasion with my grandfathered unlimited data, but all ended well.
I personally think their customer service is pretty d*mn good!! :good:
Coming from Sprint and Verizon ATT is making me feel like a god. Lol. Sounds more like an error on ATT in your situation. Or a big mistake.

I feel ya bro! Finally ditched sprint. Goin to court with them. But here on att, ive had lte almost everywhere ive went! Signal is also almost evrywhere unlike sprint. Loving the att s4 so far

Att and verizon know they can screw any and all of their consumers. why cause they know sprint and tmo has horrendous 4g lte coverage and they are like almost taunting you to switch to sprint and tmo cause they know you will be crawling back for their lte coverage.
All I can say is Att has been great to me. A rep told me if you pay your bill on time every month they consider you a premium customer and they will go out their way to help you. I pay my bill on the 5 of the month although its done on the 22nd. This has gotten me early upgrades big credits to my accounts and free stuff.
