Settings > Sound.... turn off Vibrate and Vibrate feedback
For alternate keyboard specific go to Settings > Language & Keyboard
Select your alternate keyboard settings and should be in there

Thanks,
I tried settings-sounds but all is unchecked. Also I am without alternative keyboard.

Might also need to turn off haptic feedback in the sound settings. I use Swype so can turn it off it its own settings

Just switched back to the default keyboard and it does still give haptic...I use swype so im in the same boat at you eddy.
Just found it:
Settings > Language & Keyboard > Touch Input > Text Input >
Disable Vibrate when typing
Wow, that was buried

Very embarrassing...
The option was exactly where you wrote.
Thank you!

I hate any kind of vibration on my phone. I always download Spare Parts, and disable haptic feedback.

I can only agree, haptic feedback is the worst! Especially on every key press, terrible. I only want vibration for notifications/calls, everything else is just plain uncomfortable.

Oh that's the accessibility feature called talkback I think. To turn it off you have to go into Browser Settings or System settings to turn it off. I can't tell you precisely where to go as my xoom isn't with me at the moment.

Settings
Accessibility
Under there you have a check box for turning on Accessibility, then under that options for SoundBack and Talkback.

yeap devlogic is right, this option is where he said, maybe you're using a rom that displays this option elsewhere
Download "Spare Parts" from the Market. There is an option which turns off the vibration of the touchkeys.

Guys I even tried Spare Parts....but still no luck ....I mean even if other keypad vibration's are disabled but only the UNLOCK vibration can't be disabled. Any other way ????
PS: My phone is not rooted and is the original 2.3.4.
Settings > sound > haptic feedback. Check that off to turn off touch key vibration.

Phone not vibrating with VI 4.0.1

Phone not vibrating
Hey, so when you say not vibrating, do you mean the Keyboard Keys or when your phone rings?
System settings -> sounds
Have you changed the appropriate settings in there?

You need to go into your sound settings and look up the haptic feedback and also 'vibrate and ring' options. Also, individual apps like messaging and gmail have their own separate profiles for notifications, so you may need to go into those settings and check 'vibrate when notified' isn't set to 'never'.
So long as your phone vibrates when you initially turn it on, it isn't a hardware issue. My phone only vibrates when it feels like it. Which is pretty annoying. Consider yourself lucky in that respect

same question, any app cant wake up phone by volume button ?
i used LightLock to light on htc chacha proximity sensor, but it's not convenient.
Good question that, my keyboard is always going dark just when I don't want it to/when I'm typing.
sent usin' tapatalk innit.
I found Keyboard Backlight Controller on market but it doesn't work on chacha
nobody care about using another key to wake up htc chacha ????????
Solution~
you can just hit the app icon to switch keypad backlight between
off mode
and
system control mode
The application works!
I'm always a bit suspicious of these kind of things coupled with Chinese writing when it's run-but avg was happy and when it asks for root I've allowed but not "remembered" the permission. Yet.
Thanks

the best way is holding finger on sensor...:cyclops::good:
The best way is to decompile framework-res.apk and edit /res/values/arrays.xml
There are stored backlight settings and you can edit them to stay on all the time, or on any level you want.
And then compile apk and push it to system/framework

Please some one help me

Hello guys I have note 10.1 N8000 4.1.1 each time I rotate screen or when I long press any icon on home screen or app drawer it vibrate
I try to disable everything related to vibration in settings > sounds but that dosen't help can anyone help ? Thanks in advance
Sent from my GT-N8000 using xda premium
Make sure everything related tl vibrate is disabled. Even check accessibility settings also. Then once you know all of it is off, restart the tablet. Hopefully That will do the trick. If not, there might be an app causing it.
There is a setting in power saving that allows you to disable vibration system-wide, overriding all other settings and apps that may vibrate.
I did but didn't find anything related to vibration in accessibility and it still vibrate I think I will live with it :\
