[Q] Keyboard dock from ASUS UK - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Anyone else not had confirmation of payment.I sent them payment on 26/4/11 and despite numerous emails no response for confirmation of payment or expeced delivery date?

No, and I don't think most people have. Only word from Asus is that if you have paid then they will ship it. From my invoice number I think I am about 23 in the queue as I ordered about 2 days after launch. I'm not too worried.

Looks like I might be 35th then if its the number on the invoice. I'm getting jealous of the Americans as quite a few seem to have got their dock bundles now.

The number on the invoice seems to be the day of the order followed by a number. I ordered on 9th April, and received invoice on 11 April, so invoice number is TFKB1104 followed by a three digit number. So I have no real idea where I am in the queue.
I did get an email confirmation of my payment after I requested they acknowledge receipt. It took less than two hours for them to respond to my email.

I have emailed 3 times in the. Last week and no reply

I keep looking at their facebook page for info on the bundle stock and someone on there said they've only just received their confirmation after emailing before the long break so looks like they're still clearing the backlog.

I was too til I read that a lot of them don't seem to be working. I'm hoping that ours come from a different batch to theirs.

When I ordered I asked for confirmation which I got next day after funds had transferred into account. I ordered pretty early on maybe the take up has been bigger then expected and they can't confirm?

We can always hope that they are just being useless, and that we won't mess ours up. Most people's problems with the main tablet part are self inflicted it seems. On the other hand it sounds like the dock needs an update to function properly so hopefully that's a firmware job.
And yeah I've been on facebook a lot keeping my finger on the pulse as it were. Seems to be the main source of info, other than twitter which I dont use.

I'm numbers 2 and 3 from the first day of the offer (got my postcode wrong on my first invoice ). I had no confirmation, but as long as the keyboard arrives I don't mind.

Nothing here yet. Hopefully by the time mine arrives they'll have a formware update for the dock to fix some of the issues. By Anandtech's timeline it can't be long now...

Not voting yet, as I don't know whether I can revise my answer, and Amazon is supposedly *about* to ship now too, but I have an origin scanned NewEgg order, I have a Tiger Direct order supposedly awaiting pickup, and I have an Amazon order "shipping soon" but with no ETA. Once Amazon ships, I'll vote in the poll to add all three.

OK, Amazon has shipped out, so that's now tracking numbers received from all three companies. Amazon and NewEgg had origin scans immediately, Tiger Direct still hasn't done despite getting the tracking number first.
NewEgg was by FAR the fastest to ship, and Amazon took the longest by a good half day.
Of the three, the only good experience was NewEgg. Amazon and Tiger Direct were both absolutely terrible, required multiple chase-ups to get anything done, flat-out lied to me at some points, and likely still wouldn't have shipped if I'd not done anything to get them moving.
Although they haven't admitted as much or given me *any* real information, Amazon's issues seem largely to relate to my decision to use One Click purchase, which I'll never be using again. (Doing so appears to delay initial processing of your order by 30 minutes from the time the last One Click item was added to your account, even if it is a completely separate order with separate shipping and invoice from the other items you've purchased.
Tiger Direct's issues seem to relate to basic competence, and I have no intention of ever buying a product from them again.

No, he was just trying to get one. Every time he ordered one, they would be out of stock and not ship, so he would try the again. I did the same, but was able to cancel the unsuccessful ones before they shipped. If you followed the us availability thread you would know he just plans to sell the extras at cost to other members.
Edit : someone claims to have bought one from office depot. Hmm, I haven't seen anything about them ever having it.

Yeah, I understand. Asus made a mistake with limiting their stock. C'mon Asus! I have called all of the local stores, and checked online numerous times for a darn transformer. This is getting ridiculous...seriously. I will post some info immediately if I happen to score. Two weeks, and these will be overstocked though. I have no patience either.

Yep, timtlm's spot-on. I ordered from Amazon shortly after they went on sale, but could see they'd screwed my order up, as they never tried to charge my card or ship, and at 5AM on my supposed delivery day, they suddenly backordered me. So, I ordered from Tiger Direct when they briefly came in stock, they again accepted my order, this time my card was authorized too, and my order went to the warehouse for six hours. Then they too backordered me. In the meantime, I'd also gotten into the queue at B&H, who I knew were backordered, just in case they got stock. I knew I'd be very near the start of their queue, because I prepared very carefully to order when they opened for business.
Turns out all three of the above shipped out orders to customers behind me in the queue, and skipped me.
So I placed a fourth and final order late on Thursday, when NewEgg briefly came in stock, having seen my other orders being ignored despite calls and emails to try and fix the situation.
NewEgg shipped the following afternoon, but in the meantime I'd apparently put the fear of god into a manager at Tiger when I'd called them the previous day, and my order was the very next one they shipped. And finally, Amazon claimed to have identified a problem in my account after two hours of web chat and 3 or 4 detailed emails from me. So they started shipping too, but with no ETA.
Tiger I couldn't stop from delivering at that point, but UPS hadn't scanned my shipping tag, so I also couldn't trust them not to screw up again and print a tag then leave it sitting. (I have only a week to receive the tab before a lengthy overseas trip.) Amazon had no ETA, so I likewise had no idea if I'd sit in "Shipping Soon" for days. I cancelled B&H at this point, but I didn't dare stop NewEgg.
Turned out NewEgg shipped before Tiger scanned or Amazon gave me an ETA. Then in the next few hours, I suddenly had scanned tracking numbers for all three.
And I'm planning to sell the extra two at my exact cost, once they arrive. (Well, unless my wife decides she wants to keep one too.) I've been through hell with this launch, and I want to do the right thing by other people who are having similar issues. So I don't intend to make a single cent on the sale (but equally, not to lose any money.)
Thanks to Tim for stepping in to defend my rep, and no offense taken from anybody else. I'm thick skinned and know you were likely joking about. I just figured you might be interested to hear the whole story. (And honestly, it's therapeutic typing it.)

I ordered at about 12:05 am on release day from Amazon. sat there and refreshed the search page for at least 20 min before submitting the order.
I did see green "in stock" designation on the product page and quickly ordered the 16 gb and the dock. By the time I finished ordering all stock was gone.
there was no estimated arrival or ship date on the order status page, i just assumed i missed the initial run and would have to wait for another re-up.
forgot to check my email for a day and half, come back to my house on Saturday afternoon (ordered 4/26, shipped overnight on 4/29), only to find a carrier called "OnTrac" leaving the front of my house.
I didnt give it a second thought, I just figured they were delivering next door or my housemate got something.
good thing someone was home! I walk in and find a modest size box, look at the label, to me from Amazon. Nice.
also, i don't think the limited stock available is a function of Asus doing it on purpose or super, abnormally high demand. I do believe the reports that they had trouble sourcing different components in order to met their initial plan. there is no business case for creating false shortages to increase demand in the tech world, it's first come first serve for profits, IMHO of course.

Well this is a waste of time at the moment as no one will have a dock shipped to them until mid May at the earliest. That's according to Asus.

I thought it might be a bit earlier than that. In response to a question on Twitter about keyboard availability for those who got in on the special 'early adopters' deal, Asus UK wrote:
'We believe end w/c 2nd or early w/c 9th May, depends on whether Bank Holiday w/end delays internal freight forwarding to stores'
I'm optimistic for the end of this week, but knowing Asus it could be several weeks away before we see the docks..
edit: misread the Twitter thread a bit, actually was in response to a question about the tablet bundle (tablet + dock) being available to buy in store in the UK. Since Asus said their first priority is to clear the dock purchases for the early adopters, I'm assuming those of us who ordered through that deal will get them roughly the same time if not a little earlier.
I ordered my bundle last week (26/04/11) from the car-phone warehouse. I phoned them on Thursday to chase up the status of my order and they told me that they have tablets in stock but no keyboard docks. They're expecting Keyboards in on the 3rd of May and will be fulfilling orders immediately so I should expect my order to be delivered on Wednesday the 4th.

Well the lack of any email confirmation from asus after i paid via bank transfer didnt fill me with confidence. I'm not in a rush to get the dock, although it would be nice to get it sooner rather than later of course. I think I'm in the same boat as everyone else in this regard. Anyways as far as info goes, I've not seen what you have on twitter.
I'm sure it will turn out that a few people wont get their docks, even though they pre-ordered and did the dock offer. At least, I have a bad feeling it will turn out that way, and I'd rather it wasnt me.

I even phoned Asus support who had no information about the deal and suggested I contact comet
the unit is ace but I will be frustrated if I have missed the deal.
If you didn't get an email with an invoice type pdf attached, you're either out of luck, or in the 'will be mailed back soon' category. It says on facebook that they are getting around to mailing back people who ordered before the cutoff. So hopefully you will be ok.
I just hope the postman doesnt drop mine or something making me have to return it and wait years for a replacement. The delivery services in this country are ****e.

Mine arrived too. Delivered by UPS Standard. Shipping date yesterday, delivery at about 09:15 this morning.
Already locked up about five times, and randomly switches network off too.
I'm off to Asus page to see if the latest firmware is available to download: it is unusable as it is.
It was delivered via UPS - there was a tracking number on the package, but I was never sent it, or an indication that it had been despatched. The ship date was 12/05/11.
To be honest, I wasn't really expecting it until next week at the earliest, and as I'm travelling to Dusseldorf for work, I was very pleasantly surprised this morning.

Nah, but I've put a camera up and I'm getting them fired next time. 'Missed' 3 important deliveries when I was actually at home off work just waiting especially for the deliveries, all they did was knock on the door gently then literally jog back to their van, and they'd gone by the time I'd got to the door 30 secs later. To take the piss even further, they had pre-written a 'sorry you werent in when we called' card. There used to be a time when people took pride in their jobs. Ah well should be a job opening for all those poor people who cant find a job soon. Maybe they'll be more deserving.

I've just received an email to tell me the phone is out of stock and delivery will be 2-4 weeks!
I think that seems to be a stock mail that goes out after a pre-order,
i had the same, they did the same thing with the launch of the original nexus.
i called Vodafone to make sure that was the case and was assured that it was....still, you never know, the woman may have been lying to get me off the phone!
im gonna expect mine on the 19th but i wont be holding my breath just in case
I sent them an e-mail about not receiving my credit check response and they replied saying it was not in stock but the credit check was fine.
As long as i have it by Thursday i'll be happy.

Yeah when I ordered mine they told me it would basically go straight out as it arrived to them so they will be 'out of stock' for a while, or at least until preorders are filled.
Yes, I got the "2-4 weeks" e-mail too but assumed it's just a generic e-mail.
When I spoke to Vodafone yesterday before placing my order, I asked if they had sold out of all their initial pre-order allocation. They said no, and that I would definitely get my phone on the 19th May.
My desire was out of stock when I pre ordered. Had to wait 2wks. Hope u guys get yours so u can tell us what you think.

Peeps who ordered online usually get screwed when it comes to delivery time as it's like a different sales division. Typically online team have so many phones to sell, but the telephone team also get so many phones to sell and the high street shops have so many. They WON'T dip into one another stock levels.
I got stung when pre-ordering the HD2 early on, only to find, people ringing customer services on the day of release were receiving their phone the very next day. Infuriated, I cancelled my online order, as I got a sorry we are out of stock email. And re-ordered by telephone. Was a bit of a ball-ache doing this on the phone, as you had to speak to different sales teams on the phone.
My advice is to keep ringing the telephone team and when they say they have stock, get it ordered.
I'm going after work on Thursday, hopefully make it before it closes at 17:30!

No, getting mine from shop too.
I thought I would have had an email by now as I thought it was going to take a day or 2 from email to me getting hold of it...and they said I would get it *by* the 19th
I think I'm going to wait until it's out in the Netherlands to see if the rumour of 16GB internal memory is correct. I'm highly sceptical but you never know.

Update. Site is a scam and asks for wire transfer.
Just ordered the tf700 from there for my daughter. Price is insane low for the 64gb, just not sure how trust worthy they are.
Used my wifes cc and there worry part is this.... it did not ask for phone number. All the other info was regular info, address, email and bla bla bla
Not 5 minutes later she gets pop up on her phone for a chat invite from easy electronic store. i saw it on the screen as she read it and said WTF, not seconds later she lost the pop up. I dont know what it was or where it came from. I cant find anything on her phone to see where it came from
I guess well see if the tf700 comes. If it does ill be ordering another for my other daughter so im crossing my fingers

Yeah I only just realised that my bad - i just joined this xda thing and noticed you've been a member since 2009 - mistook it for you purchasing and posting this in 2009.
Thanks though that will be pretty helpful.
Considering that the two color options are "black" and "white" (two non existant colors on the tf700), I'd say it's probably not real..

EDIT: Should point out - a good observation on the Black/White colour availability on ALL products across the website but I done some searching they've been up as a website for about 28 days - no reviews - so looks like we're the guinea pigs of this site so we'll find out soon enough.. SECOND EDIT: I know I keep editing but I'm realising more bits and pieces that may help put two and two together. From a programmers point of view; adapting on the above colour availability 'black and white' across the site.. the actual 'Availability' read's 'In stock' as a drop down box. This should not be the case as the customer cannot choose whether something is in stock or not but we should only be able to view this information. So either poorly designed web pages or scam. - I've been talking to a 'representative' and they're saying all the right things but I guess overall we'll just have to wait and see..
BTW, i found this thru the google shopper app on my phone. Otherwise i can not find any other info on this retailer

The site says locations in Virginia and the UK...
Still say it looks shady...
I just looked the site up a few minutes ago & I was concerned about the contact number, it's a cell/mobile phone number not a direct land-line,which would raise my suspicions, I sincerely do hope ALL goes well & your product reaches you though I am concerned....
P.s.why don't you give them a call on the phone number the site gives you?(I didn't include it in my post incase I done something wrong)

Easyelectronicstore.com is REMARKABLY a lot like superstoregadgets.com both websites have both US and UK addresses (although superstoregadgets.com didn't have a US address a month ago) I was really excited about the price at first too since it was so cheap but when I went through their checkout process just to see how much they would charge for shipping I received an email saying this:
"We thank you for your order# (New ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 64GB 10.1" Android Tablet), and we want to inform you that your order has been received and confirmed, packed and will soon be ready for shipment, but we are unable to process your credit card because of the issues we are presently facing with our credit card processor, due to large volume of order we are receiving at this promo period, and no COD anymore, to complete this order, we need to receive your payment before we can ship out your order, all payments are to be made via Online Money Transfer (Western Union or Money Gram)."
Funny thing was...I never even entered any payment information yet. So I did some searching and the UK address for superstoregadgets had been used by several other online stores in the past and people had ordered stuff from them and never received their products.
Easyelectronicstore.com doesn't even have any certifications. Just a picture of a "safe and secure" badge on the page that doesn't even link to any agency that would support any confirmation that the site is legit. Just like with superstoregadgets.com when you search for the address on google you get no other indication that the website has an online presence or notoriety.
I SERIOUSLY BELIEVE THAT EASYELECTRONICSTORE.COM IS A SCAM. IF YOU HAVE ORDERED FROM THEM I WOULD SUGGEST IMMEDIATELY TRYING TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK AND I WOULD SUGGEST INVESTIGATING INTO POSSIBLY PUTTING A FRAUD ALERT ON THAT CARD.

Yeah I think it is a scam. Luckily used cc instead of debit so I should be good to go. Gonna wait till tuesday and if I dont have anything from them im gonna try and call and then ill call my cc co.
My wife got the chat invite again today when she was out and it disapeared before she could get a screen shot for me.
