HTCClay has released another update to his FastTest ROM, taking us to version 3.0.3. As the title suggests this is a quick ROM. As always from HTCClay’s ROMs it is also very smooth and great for everyday use. This one has a very nice new music player with some widgets for the music player too. The launcher has also been modified on this, very similar to the Nexus One launcher I have seen elsewhere. Battery life is very impressive too, finishing a day’s normal usage after setups and downloads with 40% left.
There was a small issue with setting up the Google mail account on this ROM, but with an install of the previous version of FastTest, run the initial setup and then install this new version without a wipe then it will work a charm. And once it you’ve got past this it works a charm

If stuck at google sign in (coming from other rom), just flash 3.0.2 then flash over 3.0.3 without wipe. Apparently it might works.

I'm aslo coming from Super D 1.8, that rom is very fast indeed but I kept on having some issues from time to time that were frustrating me, this one is the same on speed with about the same features, and now with us g1 users being able to over clock to 700+ its super quick

How can you overclock to 700mhz?
all i have seen is upto 550mhz.

Couldn't get 3G to work, on any version of this Rom. Made 100% sure the APN-settings were correct. Somebody I know had the exact same problem so it isn't just me, it just doesn't work on some mobiles.
Back to SuperD it is for me also.

I have yet to see a dev who objects to people praising his ROM and spreading the word.

Hell yes! I've been using this since saturday night, great ROM. It's replaced Super D 1.8 as my favorite rom currently.

description, and change log of the ROM would be nice. On the other hand props to htcclay on the amazing ROM, knew it would be a matter of time until some one passes up super d.

Yea, it lacks those sort of but ill tell you right now, im running it and its like lightning. Also has everything black themed, awesome ROM. Def go for it.
If anybody has a link to the official page for the ROM or changelog, please post it. I have the dev on twitter though as @htcclay.

I don't believe it is. This is much faster than SuperD 1.8 and I don't have any issues with this rom at all. For some reason my Home key wouldn't work with SuperD 1.8

nope it is, lol trust me on this one, id bet a million and a half dollars its the EXACT same rom but has some differant images, lol it cracks me up that people actually think its differant hahaha

Haha really? And now I feel like a dumb ass, however after flashing back to supper d I really dont like this rom anymore its not as fast as I thought it was. I think its because I had the 780mhz patch on this rom and I didn't have it on supper d

The theme might be more optimized. Themes actually do affect load times, I find.

Eclair Instructions: Unzip the rom file, and place the Rom of your choice folder into the SDCRAD:/goapkrev/backup/ folder. Using tenfar custom clockwork recovery(with USB debugging disable, go down to nandroid/restore/(which ever you want to restore)
Froyo Instructions:
Instructions:
1Boot into Stock recovery (Power On/Vol Down, then press bottom right hand corner of the screen when you see the warning sign) Then perform a data wipe.
2Go into bootloader mode (volume up and power) then Using RSD Lite flash the 2.2 Chinese ROM
3Once the phone has rebooted, skip set up, root via superoneclick and then install clockworkmod recovery/apply.
4Boot into Clockworkmod Recovery and wipe data/cache
5Now go to backup/restore and restore the froyo rom of your choice that you have placed in either the SDCRAD:/goapkrev/backup/ folder.(tenfar recovery) or clockworkmod/backup/.
6Once the restore is complete pull the battery, as you are reconnecting the battery hold volume up, so that it goes straight into bootloader.

When done your phone will reboot and can take about a 1min or 2 to boot up.
If you are already running my previous froyo rom or another , there is no need to do all the steps, just restore the rom.

so far so good. after i had flashed my defy it took a long time to boot. first welcome message was an com.android.mms error nevertheless the rom runs good.

someone could make a video of the result and as an example upload it on youtube? Pardoned my not good English!

Gonna flash this on my girlfriends defy after a revision or two. Shes not a power user so she would freak out if the rom force closes or has bugs. It looks great! Is it gingerbread or 2.1 themed?

Just put beta 3 on and it looks like wifi is broken. I switch it on, then it turns itself back off again. This behaviour wasnt there with beta2, it worked fine with that.

I was a bit quick to mention that... i rebooted the device and all is working fine and all of the previous minor gripes are fixed too... top job! One thing i would like tweaking... is it possible to change the text colour on the dialog boxes (example google acc setup) you have white on very light grey which is barely visible.

JBoogie beta3 works fine for me =)

Yes i found this too although not sure how to do a screen capture.
I can explain though... start new text message and click to add name. At the bottom where it says 'done' the button is grey and text is white. So the text is hard to read. Normally the button is dark grey and the text is white.
Hope this helps. I will buy u a big beer if you can get 2.2 up and stable.

[Rom Add-On] Performance Pack For V1.08 Firmware

Hi All.
Edit: Do not use with v1.09 firmware, it is not compatible
I have been looking at the gtab update and it appears that most of the tegra drivers have not been updated with v1.08. I have remade the pack for that firmware. The quadrant score remains the same at 2400+ but i have noticed a big improvement in the overall smoothness of the device. Games like angry birds and 8ball seem to play smoother. Also, it might be me but iplayer also looks better. Please try it out and report any feedback.
I have packaged it as a update.zip so it can easily be installed on any os. Clockwork Mod is not required.
Install Instructions:
1 - Download Performance_packv1.08.rar parts 1 and 2 and unzip them (you only need to open one of them), Copy peformancev1.08_update.zip from the performance folder, and place on sdcard of device.
2 - Navigate to settings/software tool, and browse to Performancev1.08_update.zip.
3 - Run the update, the device will reboot and a "out of the box android" will appear, after the device will reboot.
4 - Check the pack has installed by navigating to settings/about Device, under the model there should be "performance pack".
Please make sure you have sufficient power to apply pack, i would recommend 50%
You will not lose any of your apps/data from this process.
Sorry for the 2 .rar parts, its the only way to fit it onto site.

That was reported in my earlier performance pack. It does not appear to affect other games, and the overall speed increase more than makes up for it. Maybe it will be fixed from updates for the pool game.

Applied the pack and it it seems to have made things quicker. However, I'm starting to get random screen corruption. Horizontal lines are appearing. Any ideas on what might be causing this?

The graphical glitches are a problem of the v1.08 rom, i got them before i made the performance pack. I also get them in v1.09 just not as bad.

You need to re-flash the official v1.09 firmware. Hold down the power button for 6 sec. Then plug device into power and connect to pc with usb. Hold down the back button for 2 sec then while still holding back push the power button for 2 secs, hold the back button for further 2 secs. A new device will pop up in your hardware manager under usb. Then run the stock v1.09 rom. Hope you backed up your applications with the software tool in settings.
You dont need this performance pack with v1.09.

v1.10 definately does not get the lines, I thought I was imagining them until just now, so I may well have to put my graohics module back to stock 1.10 from the myadventvega rom. Thanks for the pack, and where the hell is the thanks button, it won't let me thank you...

Yes, this IS a stupid question.
NO, it will NOT work with VegaICS and has nothing to do with VegaICS or any custom ROM.
This is purely for STOCK v1.08 firmware (Android OS v2.2 - Froyo).

Andrew Kovacs Google Honeycomb for smartphones has given a clear rejection. It will not come in that form for mobile phones, but the features would be transferred "over time" on the phones, Google's spokesman said on request of PC Mag.

Hi, i have not much experience in Romdevelopment, but you can get Network working by pushing the /system/lib/libhtc_ril.so from any Desire build (like CM7) and change the rild.libpath=/system/lib/libreference-ril.so in build.prop to rild.libpath=/system/lib/libhtc_ril.so

1:quadrant works got 1300 not bad
2: it is quite fast if you change the launcher to launcher pro
3: market dont work niether does xda
4 will try games soon but for next update try to get network workin and include launcher pro, nice work

It's not that it isn't made for smartphones, it's that it is an SDK port. I bet when AOSP HC roms start coming out (once it's released of course), there will be stable roms for many smartphones.

Honeycomb is a tablet-only OS. The next major release ("Ice Cream Sandwich") will merge many of the new features (Action Bar, multitasking with thumbnails, other stuff) in a smartphone-sized form into the smartphone version of Android. For now Honeycomb will be tablet-only, and I'm sure developers like the CM team wouldn't waste their time making it somehow to work on phones when a new and optimized release is just a few months away.

[KERNEL][GT-P51XX][4.0.4] blamesamsung kernel for stock samsung roms [FAST | NO LAGS]

This kernel is based on official samsung kernel sources with pvr drivers from maguro and cifs support to make stock roms less lagging/sucking.
It will fix any lag you're having and highly increase performance in games.

Have to download adb. I did go through the process again with a factory reset and a cache wipe, same results, i do however hear the start music in the background, but it still just sticks on the galaxy tab 2 screen.

Seems to be fixed. Installed and booted right up. Havent done much with it, but there doesnt seem to be any scroll lag like i was experiencing with stock. Will let you know if i find any other issues.

Yep, flashed my tab back to stock rom. Really a big difference now.
Wonder how samsung can ship such a ****ty and lagging stock rom to customers.
It's a shame.

Same here. With how smooth this kernel is, i dont really see a reason to upgrade to one of the Jellybean roms

hi, i installed it, it's a bit smoother but my wi-fi doesn't work now. it can't be turned on, like its disabled. what can i do?

Yea, just noticed this issue as well. Bluetooth turns on. Wifi doesnt move

Sorry, samsung has put the kernel modules into the ramdisk and not into /system/lib/modules where they should be. -.-
Use this:

WiFi works now, but when i do screen lock it automatically reboots? few times already

Have the same issue. If the USB cable is plugged in then it works fine, but once the cable is unplugged, if you lock it then it will reboot.

I have the same prob with others when screen locks but im sure u will fix it :victory:
