[ROM] VanillaLegend 1.2 (4/23/10) rom.

This is Darchstar's Legend rom with elements of ASOP (we don't have the kernel source yet to my knowledge)
This is my first full ROM modifications.
Version 2
Updated ASOP software (thanks again darchstar), themed most of the rom
Everything from a hardware perspective is working. With some ASOP elements this is a rom. White Task bar theme. Friend stream is in this rom as well as morelocale. Basically i would like to to give me some feedback. I prefer the legend roms to ours they seem to run quicker and with Darchstar quitting on the great hybrid roms. =( i figured i would try to keep his ASOP elements in his roms.
I do not use app2sd so if someone would please test and let me know if its work that would be great
Features:
v2 based off of DarchLegend 5.0.5, added ASOP Elements
v1 added ASOP elements to DarchLegend 4.3.1, pre installed Vanilla Lockscreen, installed theme
Apps2sd (still needs to be tested but should work)
Doesn't work
Gallary 3D doesn't like to rotate it will screw up graphics
Notes
This is basicly an updated version of his v2 DarchVanilla.
1. use morelocale to install EN US language to get us news.
4. For Apps2sd you need to install busybox symlinks
Right after you flash the rom go into adb shell and do this
adb shell /system/xbin/busybox --install /system/xbin

What can you tell about the kb? Is it Stock or Android KB? also, since some of it is based on Darch - is the new phone/contact apk part of this? I believe it is best if you post a list of changes and what it includes that way ppl start jumping into this ROM

Hey guys, i'd like to present this new side project i'm working on called darchvanilla. Since touchscreen and camera don't like to play along well with aosp, i decided to make a vanilla rom with aosp elements so we could have camera alongside the minimalistic aosp environment.

Did you make sure to click mobile and wifi in the setup?
Did you try turning it off then back on?

[ROM] Hero_Froyo v1.0 FRF83 Baked Dessert! Fast/Stable/Updated/Battery Saving @1.2ghz

Hey Im leaving to go to my friends house and i will be very busy with work tomorrow but i thought id post this up with some of the changelog.
This is a froyo rom based off the ota update given to nexus owners as FRF83. and here is some of what has been done.
Camera is still broken
-lots of things fixed by avalauch (sensors,lights,bt) Thanks a ton for the great work!!!!
-removed unnecessary data chunks from png files
-compressed some system apks
-added rom manager
-added file explorer
-added sprint tv
-added optional kernels
-added su and chainsdd superuser apk
-added more xbin tools (busybox etc.)
-more done but will ad later
-ads blocked

flash the overclock patches on top of the rom. flash stock kernel to go back to stock kernel
the trick to getting kernels to boot:
when booting wait for the system force close. when u see it press power and click force close. then power off and repeat until you see the lockscreen

No. It won't. Its a custom kernel.

Cameras wont work with froyo on Evo until the source is released.

Not necessarily true. Avalaunchmods has it PARTIALLY working with a 3rd party camera app. Our brilliant devs CAN get it working, but it's going to take some time (hopefully soon though).

lol camera is broken on froyo. it has nothing to do with the kernel. the kernel would break camera if it worked

I am guessing the 1.14 kernel would be best for battery performance?

Flash you r kernel on 2.1, broken camera.
EvenToasts thread says kernel breaks camera.
So why find software patch when kernel breaks it?

yes it is the latest and greatest.

i'm assuming you haven't had time to apply the 4g from source yet so wimax probably doesn't work but does mms work on this rom?

BT headset works with this one or is it just a2dp?

so I would download Hero_Froyo_1.zip and flash it using recovery? would I need to flash the kernel too? sorry for the noob question.

mms is still broken using stock. use handcent for mms. i havent looked into the 4g source i will tomorrow. and im pretty sure bluetooth is a2dp only. someone test as i dont use bluetooth.

I dont think any phone has network with this ROM
But meaby t-mobile pulse mini if you flash pulse mini fix... not sure but you can try i would be very happy!
I will start working on this ROM next week cuz im buzy but i hope now other ppl see we have a "working" gingerbread they go to work too and make it better

I could test it. At the moment, I'm using the Eclair stock ROM on my Pulse Mini. It's rooted, with Clockwork recovery img. Is it possible to use that, or should I first flash the AmonRa stuff?

Pulse mini TMO update doesn't help.
but vibration does work on my phone!

Not really. It's true that i use Oxygen as base, and in V1 there aren't much differences between them. But the big ones are under-the-hood (no apps2sd, etc).
PS: V2 Is coming in ~1 day. It's going to be a change in GUI mostly And of course some changes in apps.
PPS: due to new themes, and wallpapers, OXYGEN HBOOT will not be supported anymore Use CM7 instead.

V2 is almost done!

My first impression is that is very fast and stable.
I miss trackball to wake and kill app via long press back button.
But seems it's a great job, I'll test the ROM for a few days

Defy CM9 Progress?

I see nothing about CM9 for the Defy, yet this exists: http://defy-cm7.tk/ics-test0/
And a youtube video of it running on the Bravo (All Defy things run on the Bravo)

Pretty much 100% of things made for the defy can be installed on the bravo. Just look at the bravo dev section, it's all defy ports with minimal file changes for the bravo

OMG this is my chance! I've made a million posts on here that nobody seems to care about...now that we have some people wondering please check this thread out! We could use anyones help, and if we find out what we need to get the camera working we could share development! (If the Bravo had any lol).

Besides the lower mbit camera on the bravo, on paper they are almost identical spec'ed right?
So anyone tried opening up the bravo and replacing the cam module with one from defy?

Well... It did boot. Nothing really works, even the settings or the calculator... there are no 3 buttons, it has adw launcher, a yellow / gold theme and a killer bootanimation. Gotta say I get pretty happy booting up ICS for the first time and having material proof that the kernel can boot it up =D

The them isn't gold or yellow, the colours are just messed up.

It is yellow because the colour are messed up, if you use the bootanimation with CM7 it is blue

We can waiting for CM9 and kernel it's not problem, ICS will work well in our kernel.
