You can file a complaint there.

Same here! Every single day. My solution is to blacklist it on my device using HTCs own blacklist app. Works fine.

The quality of my life would be greatly reduced if I did not have nostrils.

Edit.. well so u decided to give them a call to see what they had to say for themselves the Guy picked up and said how may I help u so I said very loudly had rude " why am I getting 3-4 calls a day from y'all asking for another person" so then he said alright let me look up your number on the computer so he put me on hold for about 20min so I gave up not wanting to waste anymore of my landline minutes. So then I called sprint (my carrier) and explained my situation and they said they could help me and I gave them the five different numbers they were trying to call from and they can completely block those numbers and the change will take place within 22-72 hrs so hopefully that'll work and sprint was very nice to me during this
Sent from my HTC Hero CDMA using XDA App

So hopefully y'all can do the same thing just call your carrier and give them the numbers and they should be able to block them also the black list apps don't work very well because the calls still come through but they hang up

Edit again look up bcr collection agency and look at the number of complaints against them its pretty bad lol

1) If you're told by a person not to call their private home phone number, you cannot legally keep calling them. No debtor needs to send you a cease and desist letter for that.
5) My last piece of advice is to contact your states Attorney General's office the first time you get a call from BCR to record and file a complaint against them.

it also qualifies as harassment if their told not to and do it afterwards , just report these goons
btw real collection agencies stop calling if u tell them not to (even tho the case of collection still goes continues) , theres no excuse to doing this

And the bad part is I don't even have a credit card and there calling me asking for someone else so hopefully sprint will be able to take care of it within the next 52 hrs and the Guy was pretty nice to me and understood what was happening to me so if that dosnt work I probably will take legal action apparently these ppl have been doing this for years because some of the complaints say they were calling about debts the person paid of five or six years ago

Our phones get spammed, our inboxes get spammed, our landlines and mailboxes get spammed!
It's about time the law was tightened up on this behaviour. I demand life sentances for anybody caught making or sending unsolicited calls!!
In the meantime can't we spam them back? A kinda DDOS against their phonelines

Just got two more calls from these ppl

How to get rid of things I have never subscribe to!??

Come ON.. i know someone has to know how to get rid of this.. Everyone here is pretty smart.. well except me lol.. thanks please help.
Ok.. first i get charged $14.99.. for some stupid **** i didnt subscribe to.. where did it come from IDK!!
I DONT REMEMBER THE NAME OF THIS ONE..
But then i got a little code number to that thing and send STOP.. and it stopped charging me.. OK...
But then i just got this new bill.. now they are charging me another stupid thing for $9.99..!! its this one is called Jumpah Alerts Weather alerts..!!
Wth??? i never did this!!
I AM WITH SPRINT.. I have the HTC EVO..
CAN SOMEONE SHOW ME OR TELL ME HOW TO GET RID OF THIS THINGS??? PLEASE!! THANKS!
That happened to me once, on AT&T. The bill told me I could send a STOP text to a certain 4 or 5 digit number and I did and I ceased to be billed next month. Sucks that it happens but it does. I never sign up for crap like that.
At 4pm on the 25th of every month I get a text message offering the chance to win £1,000 in a FREE quiz and get charged £1.50 to receive it. I have never subscribed to anything so I do not know where they got my number from.
Every month when I get my bill I ring Vodafone and complain and they credit me with the £1.50
One VF that I spoke to told me NOT to text back to cancel as that would tell them that it was a live line and I would get plagued with more of them
It sounds to me like you've wound yourself up in a "spam trap" -- you need to call your local business authority (in the States known as Attorney General) and ask them how you can stop these messages that cost you money. I will warn you though, they will probably tell you just to change your number -- however they will want to take an official record on your behalf of the numbers that are bothering you. You will not have to go to court, but the AG will most likely take some sort of legal action. These "subscription" texters are pretty clever and sending them a "stop" message sometimes can get your number sold to other "subscriptions". I'd ask your carriers if they can change your number and waive the fee (most carriers will if the reason is harassment, which this definitely is). Of course, you'll have to send your friends your new number, but it definitely gives you the advantage of being able to weed out people you don't want to talk to...
I got it resolved.. a tech from sprint helped me.. n he called for me to block THE PREMIUM MESSEGES.. n this bill i didnt get that extra fee from the spam

SMS/Text bomb website?

So I came across this website and I was considering using it to mess with friends and maybe a few d-bags, but I was wondering if it could be considered harassment legally? Or could it even be traced to my IP? In the rules it mentions no threats and I wasn't planning on it, but it would be fun to annoy some people.

Any thoughts?
nobody has any input?
I would advise against it for numerous reasons. Most isp's backlog dhcp records for 180 days. While it would be fun to mess with your friends their retaliation would be swift! Best wishes.

It is legal, however, if you take it too far it could be construed as harassment. My advice, keep it light hearted and chose your victims wisely. I used a bomb app on my phone with a couple friends before, its funny but it could get out of hand.
EDIT: I thought of something after I posted, I wonder if you could be held financially responsible if the person receiving didn't have unlimited texts (if such a person even exists anymore). Be careful is my advice.

Why would the recipient need to have unlimited texts?

The recipient is going to get bombarded with texts so I would hope they have unlimited messages.
I would be careful doing something like this.

Haha, I didn't even think of that. Can you imagine if you sent like 300 texts to someone with pay-per-use? That would be at least $30-$60 every time you did that. That's a really good point.
Woah. I would hate this website if someone used it on me.
Ok so what if I am not on a contract and I have no more credit and someone sent all these texts? What would happen?

According to their site it's USA and Canada only, I guess that's both to and from, in that case I don't see any way that the recipient could be charged (unless their carrier charges them for receiving texts whilst roaming or something).

Well, it would probably eat up any remaining credit you had and then just stop sending, or maybe it just wouldn't send at all. But if you're not in contract with anyone then I don't see how they could pursue charges. You could just switch to another carrier.

The only other thing the carrier could do is the next time you added funds to your account they could deduct the amount remaining that you owed before you ran out of funds (ie you have twenty dollars available, someone text bombs you costing thirty dollars, then later you add twenty five, the carrier deducts the ten you previously owed and you are left with only fifteen) Sorry if I ran on to long...

You can send from any number you want to any number you want. You can even put a name in the from field for jokes...
Will someone *please* explain how you will be charged for *receiving* texts.
If you do not have a text plan (ie 200 a month, unlimited..) You are charged for texts. T-mobile, for one, does charge 0.20 for each incoming AND outgoing text. Especially on pre paid plans...

Is that from international numbers only?
Nope. That also includes domestic texts. If you do not have a plan that covers texting either included like sprint or an add on like I have with T-Mobile, you can be charged for every message sent and/or received. Prices vary by plan, and/or carrier.

i just use an app called SMS barrage on my droid. messed up once, set it to send 1000 messages to my friend saying hello... didnt realize her husband had her phone, and they were only allotted 200 texts a month... I ended up sending them the money for the texts. seemed only fair.
Nice site here. Too bad only for US/Canada.

To the people that swapped for Sensation

Did you do it within either the 14 or 30 day windows or afterward?
I had to replace my G2X due to physical damage. Now, every phone being sent to me from T-Mobile because of issues such as GPS not working, dropping calls, constant reboots, ends up with yet another broken phone. Their answer is to send me out a new phone day after day...or... lol... send me a G2!? They must be high.

No one? Not one phone has had bad screen-bleed until I got this one. To those that mocked others for "exaggerating" how bad it can be, shut your face. This is HORRID. The upper left corner of my screen is the same color as the grey USB connection notification in CM7.

I was one of the lucky ones to get a Sensation and keep the G2X while still remaining out of contract. I posted my story about 6 weeks ago. You can find it by looking through my history.
I talked to a guy in retention after I exchanged for my 4th one. I was pissed off and wanted a different device and the representative offered a Galaxy S 4G but immediately stated it was not a comparative device since it wasn't dual core. He went on to tell me if I wait until next Thursday, I can call back and exchange for the Sensation since its the only comparable device. I talked to this guy for a long time and he was very knowledgeable when it came to phones. He told me that my account was notated and to call back next Thursday.
I called back on Thursday and spoke to retention again. The last I talked to told me the system would not let her do that but she did see the notes on my account. She told me she was going to email the original representative and have him call me. I waited 24 hours and didn't receive the phone call.
I called retention again and was lucky enough to get another cool ass representative. This guy tried every way possible to get a Sensation in my hands but in the end he couldn't do it. I thought for sure I was screwed and the game was over. He then put me on hold to talk with his supervisor.
When he came back on the phone he told me they are going to send me a Sensation because when I talked to the first representative, I was still within the 14 day return period but that representative told me to call back a week later. I don't understand how they came to that conclusion because I gad already had the phone for almost 2 months.
After he told me this he then put me on hold because he had to go over to his supervisors computer to complete the transaction. I asked him if I should send all the accessories and box back with the G2X and he told me I didn't have to send it back since there was nothing they could do with it. LG will not except any devices back if there outside of a 30 day period. Before hanging up I asked him one more thing. I asked if I was still out of contract and he said yes. It was a happy day.
In the end, T-mobile ate the cost of the Sensation. What other carrier would do that? Probably none.

After exchanging my g2x about 6 times I called the retention center and told them that I would cancel my account since I needed a working phone and the g2 was definitely not a comparable device. As soon as I mentioned the cancellation he told me I could get the sensation as an upgrade ( even though I just opened my account 5 months ago) so I just paid the $250 and got a sensation on the mail. So far, I absolutely love it

I called the corporate number that someone had posted in an earlier thread - you should be able to search for it. Keep in mind that this number is NOT customer care, or even retentions - I had no luck with either of those departments. When you call the corporate number, ask to get transfered to "Executive Customer Relations" or something like that. You will have to leave a voicemail and they will call you back within the next couple days.
I explained my situation after getting a call back. I, probably like others that have received this deal, have been a customer for a long time (~10 years), so I'm sure that weighed heavily in their decision.
Eventually (a few days later), I was shipped a Sensation (account credited the full cost of the phone after I mailed my G2X back to them), paid no upgrade fees, and was even credited the cost of shipping. They did have me agree to a new two year contract, but that was fine given the service they provided.
Just remember to be courteous and calm when explaining your situation - doing so can go a long way. Good luck!

I bit the bullet. Since I have been a customer for so long, they gave me a 1 year discount ($402 and change). I had my 2 day old G2X up for sale at $300 for maybe 20 minutes and already have a guy coming tomorrow to buy it. Out of pocket $100 bucks isn't too terrible.
Man. My experience ia this... Had g2x, sold g2x for sensation. Hated the sensation all 3 had horrible wifi and screen weirdness. Not to mention two types of screens.. Now I'm back to the g2x. It may not be perfect, but its a heck of a lot better than the sensation imo..

How do I convince TMO to give me one?

I'm on my third G2x. I just can't take it anymore. At this point it's only partly the phone itself and partly my new disgust for LG as a company. I don't even want to use a working G2x if that day ever comes.
I've tried asking T-Mobile to switch out for a Sensation, and I'm usually pretty good at sweet talking these kind of deals, but all efforts have failed thus far. What's the fastest way anyone has gotten TMO to switch a G2x out for a Sensation? I hear a BBB complaint is fairly effective, but doesn't exactly seem to be very quick.
Cheers...

They're told me that if they swap out a device 3 times, that they'll be willing to swap for a newer device. If this is your third and you're still having problems you might be able to make it an easy argument. Just call and tell the truth. You went through 3 phones, and they're all messed up and since you paid with real money you want a real high end phone that works as advertised. Then boom, can I trade this for a Sensation for free? If they say no, then ask to speak to a manager.
not sure if the lemon law applies to phones but if you are on your third one, honestly, they should just swap it out for a different phone for you or give you your money back.
call and ask to CS rep. ask nicely. if you get the right CS rep, they'll most likely hook you up.

I've been told this by T-Mobile as well. After three exchanges of the same device (I think within 90 or 180 days?), you can talk to them about switching to a different device.
The thing that sucks is that not all if any care reps even know the situation with the G2X so they'll think your just full of it

I had 5 MT4G's and they sent me a G2X...
After about a week of it shutting off randomly and having to pull the battery out and put it back in to get it to turn on I asked if they would send me another phone.
Of course they wanted to send me another G2X. I asked for a Sensation... The CC rep said NO. I asked to talk to a manager and no go. She made me really mad and I told her to put me on the horn with customer retention so I could cancel my service and switch to Big Red.
I'm not under contract and they wanted me to just upgrade the line. After talking to customer retention. They credited my bill $80 and let me keep my week old G2X. I went to the store and bought a Sensation.
So... No Verizon. But I still have a brand new G2X for sale...
As most of you know from my post here about 6 weeks ago, T-mobile shipped me a Sensation for free and let me keep my G2X while still remaining off contract. If you would like to get all the information as to why t-mobile just ate the cost for the Sensation then your going to have to look through my history. The story is to ling and I've already told it too many times.

It's all about who you talk to. I had a similar issue with my previous phone, and after only one swap-out, the supervisor I talked to gave me no hastles and allowed me a full upgrade price on the Sensation. Your situation may merit a free device, but it depends on you getting the right person at the right time. Just be honest with them, let them know it's not their individual fault, and you're just exhausted from all the problems. Be sincere, and only get more authoratative if they completely refuse to help.

I also opened a BBB case against TMO stating my claim and that switching to a HTC Sensation would be a satisfactory resolution. Yesterday I got a call from "The Office of the President" to discuss my BBB complaint. They proceeded to tell me that TMO is only a "wireless service provider" and they take no responsibility for the (non)functionality of the phones themselves. After a long conversation of me calling them on their BS at every turn, he offered to refund me $40 they charged me to replace the G2X twice to begin with in return for considering it an acceptable resolution. I said hell no.
So I'm not sure how anyone else has gotten away with this, but apparently being a customer for 10 years and paying $200/mo isn't good enough for me to get the kind of courtesy they extend to other customers.
So the gingerbread update did not fix all the huge issues with the g2x?

Yea, I thought the update is supposed to make the g2x pretty solid...My GF just got one a week ago for free for adding a line (free all the way, no mail in rebates or activation fee).
Hers doesnt have GB on it though, how is that to go down?
Matt
Last time I tried to pull off a free G2X because I read someone on the forum was given one by a rep for being a long term customers and signing up for another 2yrs. I called Tmobile and demanded the same deal and the supervisor wouldn't let me have it. I told her 5 times that there has been people walking away with G2X at no cost for 2yr renew and bahabah to the point the supervisor demanded "my friends" number to look up the code that was inserted in their accounts..
My solution is to tell them about jrwingate6 and say my friend went through this same crap bahbahabah and in the end Tmobile gave him a sensation.. jrwingate6 will have to give you his number to make proof of that if he's willing to help you out and privately send his personal number to you. Once they see Jrwing was given a free sensation due to malfunctions G2X how can they deny you?
You know what dude times like this you should call corporate and demand to speak to the president or someone below with reasonable powers to help me out.
I return my G2X after using it for 29 days. It was lacking something and overall the experience wasn't satisfying to me I just didn't seem to be in love like my sensation. I hated the G2X!!
My GF G2x has zero problems so far. Its just as snappy as my Sensation. The camera is slow, but thats it! The battery is a million times better than my sensation!
Maybe the G2x has gotten better? Maybe you ought to ask for another G2x and see if something was fixed. I dont notice ANY of the problems listed, and I have a sensation to compare it too.

So I went to a few stores today that sells att phones. I asked everyone in all 5 of the stores about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note LTE, noone even knew about it as if it will be coming out 6 years from now -.- noone knew there was one even coming out let alone the name :/ it kind of makes me sad when the consumer knows more then the sales reps. They should train more in my opinion this was just my little experiance for the day just thought I'd share. Anyone else looking forward to the note lte for att?

Nobody in a provider store is going to have even a small clue about phones they don't already stock, this should not be a shock. And if you're on xda you're a bit above the typical consumer...
There is basically no benefit in knowing about a phone you don't stock yet from a sales perspective. You can't sell what you don't have.

They should for the consumer I really wish I could get hired there and be like "hey guys look at this site it will help you when a consumer comes in " Haha xD

In-store reps definitely don't know anything. Most reps aren't like us and simply don't care. I usually come across some reps who give out good information about upcoming devices. These reps are always over the phone as they have quick access to the database. Try calling about a general question, talk to them for a bit, and when you're about to end the conversation, pop the question.

Ive sold phones for five years in three locations. I can tell you most of us know about phones as soon as they are rumors. As someone said earlier if we don't sell it we really don't care. To be honest if someone asked me about the note I would kinda just try to end it fast unless we were doing pre orders as asking me about a phone I cant sell isn't making me commission. If it is slow though I will talk about announced upcoming phones for quite awhile. Also most consumers walk in and say i want android or iphone not asking specifics

That's understandable. Wouldn't it be better to actually care and inform a consumer of an upcoming device? By informing them of said device, they might wait for it and pay the $200 with the contract. I understand you want to make some money as well but I guess from a personal standpoint I would help the person that cares as much as I do.

If they are techie I will chat with them build rapport and leave them with a business card and an appointment only if the release isn't months away. The average consumer wants what their friend has and even if a better phone comes out tomorrow won't wait.

Though by far my biggest pet peeve at work is the people who say well I saw this was coming out on _________ tech site and I know all about it where is it. Most of those people end up name dropping xda. Kinda like this "well i frequently read xda and it said this and that and they tend to be just plain wrong. I know most of us on xda aren't like that but when you hear it multiple times a week you tend to want to hull smash something end rant ha

Haha yea I understand. I never ask about a device until it's all over the internet and comfirmed by many sources. That's like calling HTC and asking about the rumored Edge.

I even tried bestbuy lol and the guys words were "our phone tech isn't here today he will be here tomorrow from 12-6" I live 40 mins away from anything so its not in my best choice to go back but anywho I go to the same att retailer when I buy my phones. They know me there and come at me quick because I don't just come in to buy a cheap pantech crossover I'm there with cash in hand and buy phones straight up xD so they are always willing to help. When I went in to buy my Sony xperia play 4g I handed her my iPhone to Bluetooth my contacts, she looked at my iPhone and her exact words were "what the F is this" it was running wp7 xD Haha but in all seriousness I think someone should be hired in the certain area. It'd be like hiring me to sell cars or ovens when I know nothing about them, I feel like they just hire anyone :/ I went to buy a computer once and the worker argued for 30 minutes that 512mb was a gigabyte :/ I shook my head and took my business elsewhere I just don't understand... sometimes I wish everyone cared about a phone as much as we do... instead of "as long as I can listen to music watch YouTube and look at porn, I don't care what it looks like or what it does" :'( I honestly just want to teach everyone for free so I don't feel so smart and dumb at the same time. anyone else feel that way?

I agree. I've perused tablets in Best Buy and after engaging the nearest 'team member' for less than 3 minutes, I realize that I know more than they do.
It's the same experience when going to the auto parts store. There are some people who can carry on informed conversation, but 90% are the type who watch fast & furious movies in awe, and know nothing about repair or maintenance or they can only look up part numbers.
Basically, lower your expectations.
This is why I get mad when I've tried many times to get a job in those kind of places to no avail because I don't seem to have any big time qualifications to my record yet if I go into any outlet store and begin talking about phones, the sales rep looks at me like I'm making up things or shocked I know anything.

I have had similar experience with applying for jobs at auto parts stores. The 'now hiring' sign is displayed for several months and the staff changes about every 3 weeks, but I never get called. For a while there was an older woman who not only knew nothing about cars but she also needed help to use the computer program to look up parts.
I finally realized that these people will work for less money than I will because I actually know what I am doing. It really is sad that people with any level of technical or mechanical ability don't actually work at the retail level because they can't get enough money.
And don't get me started on the people who work at Home Depot . .
I have no past work experiance. I'm 19 years old have been the "bad" kid because I used to be a "black magic" hacker I've gotten introuble from schools best buys and targets because of it but now I'm past all that I do phones tablets anything mobile. There is never a time when I'm in best buy that I'm back in the computer/phone area and usually an older citizen is talking to a sales Rep about which one is better and the sales Rep says well product A is $1299 with 4gb ram touchscreen is way better then product B $899 8gb ram and so on but they go by the price as the sales Rep was walking her to the register I kindly walked up and said "hello ma'am I noticed you were interested in two different so-so" the sales Rep called the manager and had me kicked out for costing him the sale xD but they wont hire me? I have long hair and look like a "druggie" I don't do drugs don't have tattoos or metal on my body but yet they hire people who are clueless

i have to say i agree not many of the people in the stores even know about the phones they have in front of them much less whats coming out.

I don't mean to overstep the rules of polite conversation but you may wish to think about your image. It isn't fair that we judge based on looks, but it happens.
*Edit - When I say looks I also means assumptions that people will make of others based on their prejudices. -*End Edit
Most recently, I applied for a job repairing projectors. During the interview they kept asking me about how well I would transition to an office environment. Completely Ridiculous! I would be working in the workshop not the office and I happened to be better dressed than any of my interviewers.
Basically, some people cannot see past their little world or people they can understand.
Man Verizon store by me they don't know anything. And they are jerks as well. Went to upgrade my moms phone and said she wouldn't get unlimited data with her Droid 3 so I just bought it from newegg called up and boom she got her unlimited data. Never going back to that store again. Hate how now you have to bring phone to store to get replaced.

$1 gets you a reply
