This is a bonus HTC Tasks widget included in the latest Fresh build (3.1.0.1.). The yellow is awful. Can someone make this transparent or at least black and white?

Lol. Best To-Do list I've probably ever seen.
Alright, done quickly. It has a black background set at 25% transparency. Hopefully this will work for you. I have not tested this yet since I don't have Sense on my phone. If it doesn't work let me know and I will fix it.
EDIT: I just realized it may look funny. I will make it better looking when I wake up in the morning. If you really want 100% transparency that should be easy to do.

Thanks faster3200! Transparency looks good. Can't see the text because it's still black. Can you make the header and body text white?
wall paper please ~!!!!! !!
Wow, for some reason I couldn't find this thread again. Sorry for the delay in response.
I'll try and change the text color, if I can't get that to work I will change the bg to a translucent white.
UPDATE: Ok so for some reason I can't change the task text color. I know where and how to change it, I just can't for some reason (changing it does nothing). I can change the text color of everything else, just not the tasks. I have no idea why that is. So for now I just changed the bg and made the page number text darker. You should be able to view it perfectly now.

Works great! Good Job1
I can not get either APK to install. What am I doing wrong?
Running stock rom, rooted with Unrevoked 3.21
How are you trying to install it?
I'm haven't tried this apk but most likely it has not been resigned in which case you will need to push it to /system/app/ either through adb or with an app like root explorer.
I have tried placing it in system/app and install with root explorer. When I just push it into system/app it never becomes available as a widget. When I try with root explorer, it goes through the install process and then at the end says Install Failed.
If you place it into /system/app/ you do not need to "install." you should simply have to reboot the phone and it should work.
Edit: nevermind.
Yeah, I dont try to install if I push into system/app. But even after a reboot, the widget isnt there. :-(

Can someone help me get the tasks widget on my Inc? Put it in system/app with root explorer, rebooted, not showing up in widgets. Normally there are a lot of things that work on both phones....

I did get the highest permission and also pushed it to system/app, then reboot. It appeared on system/app but still can't find this widget on the htc widget list.....
I am not sure if this application may need an .odex as I found most of the other widgets have .odex doc after the application.
Can you help to confirm if my assumption is correct and how to create an .odex file?
Thanks

Fair enough on the section... even though it's compiled rather than a theme... I could have put it elsewhere. The mods are pretty friendly round here though, so no harm no foul.
Didn't mean to step on your territory either... I couldn't find a morph for 5.0.7 that didn't break services.jar. Sorry if I didn't look hard enough. I take no creative credit, nor do I intend to maintain, I just thought it filled a gap. Perhaps I was wrong. If this is the case the mods can delete.

can this be flashed via recovery?
or do i have to push the 2 files to the appropriate places via ADB?
thanks in advance
EDIT: had to push the 2 files using ADB; works great, using it on nightly from yesterday
Nice, been looking for just the bar.
Ok, stupid question time, I have adb set up on my laptop, but the power cord is fried, need to wait for the replacement to come in. Could I just use root explorer to copy the files over? I'm guessing I'd need to mount r/w first though.

You can use root explorer after mounting /system as rw yes (do this with root explorer). Copy the files as in post #1 and reboot.
Bug
This causes the market to FC every time it tries to install anything.
I've wiped and reflashed cyan 507 t2 and all is ok. as soon as i push servicer.jar and the framework-res.apk it causes market to FC when it tries to install...
Using Root Explorer kept putting me in a boot loop, the phone reboots as soon as I try to replace the framework-res file. I threw adb on my store's pc, got it working just fine that way, thanks for this.
@adam, go to settings -> applications -> Manage applications and go to Market. Uninstall updates, and everything should work fine.

Yes, colours, depth, size and transparency. In fact they're better optimised than the stock images. This was just a stop-gap until somebody releases a 5.0.7 morph or theme though.

I've just released a beta of Kang-o-rama 0.7 and will endeavour to fix it for the final release of that.
I will be working on a fully loaded Bio-Hazard theme for the next few days but atm I have just been working on the lock screen. Note that this lock screen is not "as is" for when teh theme comes out, its subject to change. But for now enjoy the sneak peek of the lock screen.

I've never gotten the backgrounds to stick. That's why if u notice on both of my themes I post the wallpaper for people to download and use.
The lockscreen wallpaper is controlled by the keyguard_screen_tab_unlock.xml in the res folder. You have to change the background line to reference the jpg. Go grab the one that JsChisurf made up.

cause that has to be renamed or deleted or u will not be able to see anything but that lockscreen type. remember this is a modified version of flipz vanilla lockscreen and to get it to work the htc version must not be there. so the two options are to either delete or rename. If u install flipz flahable zip for the initial vanilla lockscreen it will delete it for you.

oh okay cool. Wish i knew a way to through flips lock screen in my update.zip. But I'm just not good with all this stuff quite yet.
The keyboard on the Droid X has been released and modded to work on an EVO, and some other 2.1 devices.
I think it is a great KB, and will use it over the HTC KB, I like the space between each keys, the speed, and the multi-touch.
The KB looks simple and is very easy to type on, in fact it finally has the biggest feature I want on an android KB, it corrects commonly misspelled words, but does not display them, or suggest them. This feature is cool but IMO, adds clutter to typing. For example, when typing "heklo" on the the keyboard, it auto corrects it to "hello" without displaying words or suggesting them like on the HTC and Stock Android KB.
Now, the purpose of the post. The only thing that Would make this KB perfect for me is to change the background color behind the keys to a grey color, I provided an image with something that I would like using Paint.
I have never developed for android and have no idea how to do it, but if someone who knows how to do it, could simply open up the code of the app, and just change the background from white to a grey, that would be awesome.
Many people would prefer it IMO, and it is a better typing experience because the colors are different and the keys are more noticeable, making it easier to type more accurately.
I provided a screen shot to show what I was talking about, and the original .APK of the Droid X KB.
Any help is appreciated.
If someone could point me in the right direction in finding it, I would be more than happy too. I'm looking through it now, if i figure it out......... I will make a black one
Like I said I have no idea how to develop, but tried something out, maybe it can help you.
I use Astro (file explorer) and when I open it I click browse file.
click 5th option=res>drawable-land-hdpi>then down to keyboard_background.9
I copied that to my computer, edited the pic which was originally white, and then changed it to the grey I wanted, I then deleted the original file to the .APK and then copied the version I edited on their and tried to install it.
But when I went to install it, it says application can not be installed.
If someone could explain it to me, I know because I edited a key file in the app, It probobly won't work or install properly, but does the whole .apk have to be refinalized and ready to install with the change I made to install right?

I'll just post the apk. It's weird how the space button is having the shadow stretching thing going on...... maybe someone can lend a hand.
If you already have the multi touch keyboard installed- uninstall-then install this one-go to settings-then uncheck then recheck multi touch keyboard- change input method in text field
Thanks so much, its people like you that make this website what it is.
It's nothing. I realized, while texting someone, that the weird shadow is on the orginal keyboard too

I tryed to install some Gtab themes on my TF101, but Rom is not booting after flashing.

HEre is the link to the theme with white background. But i surfed some more web sites and found that actually the stock build of Android 3.2 for SGT10.1 was with white theme.
Thanks anyway, your wark is really great.

Ok so it turns out that the same xml file controlls the colour of the text beside the icons and the main text in popup dialogues such as menus making hem really hard to read so the options right now are to make the background in settings a light grey or any slightly darker colour or make the text gray or any colour lighter than black

Ok, now its looking better. One more question. This square which is black, is that possible to make it gray or white too?
And btw files from SGT theme got some resource or not? Maybe there is something in the ROM itself?
About beer, it shouldn't be beer, but anything else.
ok the white settings menue is from the samsung 10.1 and the rest of the theme is from the htc jetstream i will see if i can edit the dark blue/grey to make it white but it might be dficult.
The icons and fonts ect are from the theme you linked me the rest is from me just editing files to try to get the right colour ill try to have it all loking polished in an hour
Ok i think that i have done all i can the dark square that has all the submenues is a .9.png and i dont have the skills needed to edit them and it doesn't seem like anyone else has been able to change it either

So I didn't even notice that this icon just sits there for no real apparent reason and found it to be a nuisance, seeing as how the information it intends to show is pretty useless.
So I changed SystemUI to look like this (this is a screenshot in landscape mode). No more GPS crosshairs:
It's cut off in the image, but the last two toggles will be "Mobile data" and "Sync" on the far right.
100% credit goes to MAD Industries and the packages that he uploaded to this thread. It was one of the first mods I even tried when I first rooted. Killing the gps crosshairs was on his to-do list and was sad to see that there weren't any further updates on it.
Rather than completely delete those crosshair images from the SystemUI package, I just edited the opacity of those images in Gimp so you just don't see them.
Just drop systemui.apk into /system/app
SystemUI will start freaking out and force close repeatedly. Just reboot the phone and you're good to go.
I know this is a ridiculously minor mod, but I was thinking if I had been searching for it, then maybe I might be able to save someone else out there some time. I'm one of those folks that hasn't yet jumped to a stock rom like CleanRom, Synergy, etc.
Thanks.
Nice!:good:
If you don't mind deleting the icon (or saving it elsewhere), here's a writeup:
Disclaimer: Do not attempt this if you don't have a nandroid backup and/or are not comfortable flashing your phone if you brick it. This method alters and replaces crtical system apk files. If you've never used ninjamorph, well then you need to go read. I'll try to answer questions and help.
In ninjamorph:
open a project with systemui.apk, then exit ninjamorph
In a file browser:
go to sdcard\AndroidThemes\workspace\SystemUIapk\res\drawable-hdpi\
delete stat_sys_location_on_2.png and stat_sys_location_e911_2.png
Edit: I just figured out that you can delete files within ninjamorph. So the steps where you delete files from within the file browser, well you can just do it all in ninjamorph and save time.
In ninjamorph:
finish the systemui project
Once it is done, immediately hit power and reboot the phone. If you don't do this quickly before something uses systemui.apk, then the phone will freeze and you'll have to battery pull. After the reboot, you should be AOK and without those annoying GPS icons.

Thank you so much. I was looking for this. Works great.
Very glad that I could be of some help.
DUDE! Thank you so much for that write up! Been dying to get rid of that icon!
This also added a wifi on/off button in the notification bar which I wanted. The downside is that the data button is now at the end of the right side but not a big problem.
Deleting the file gets rid of the Icon but the space in the noti bar cannot be filled by another icon. So you cant see it but the space is still filled. Any way to fix this?

I notice that too, but I only notice it when the 'smart stay' icon pops up.
What other icons are there to the left of the gps-crosshairs/location icons?
As far as I know, MAD mentioned that completely editing out that area of the status bar takes a lot of work, smali edits, etc.
The other alternative may be to resize the .png files to a 1x1 pixel image and see if that helps, but I don't have much time to give that a try today.
Just tried shrinking the png files to 1 pixel in width. Doesn't work. The space is still reserved but again, I only notice it when the smart stay icon pops up. I drive myself crazy over a lot of things but not going to with this lol.
It would be nice to just turn this "feature" off and reclaim a little screen real estate.

When I was on stock I was able to delete it without any ill effects like the space not being filled again. I used ninjamorph.
Notification menu gone
I dragged and dropped the apk into system/app, rebooted the phone and now I have no notification menu. Anyone else get this?
ready to give this a shot, m-cat did you fix your issue with the notification menu? if so have any idea what caused it?

I had the same thing happen to me. Thankfully, had an old copy SystemUI backed up by TiB. Until I restored the old file and deleted the modded SystemUI from system/app, reboots did not restore the notification bar and SystemUI kept crashing.

notification missing
No I didn't find a fix, I restored and have been living with it the crosshairs.
