Hello guys,
I was surfing themes for other similar tablets (like G Tab 10.1, Xoom) and i noticed that Gtab 10.1 has a white background at settings menu(screen below). Is it possible to make similar theme for Asus TF101 or just port some existing one for Gtab 10.1?
I tryed to install some Gtab themes on my TF101, but Rom is not booting after flashing.
Thanks for your time.

i have some time tomorrow so i can work on it but in the meantime i edited it to have the 10.1 icons just push to system/app
edit: took a look and exchanged all the res files its not as simple as a res exchange theme its persistent throughout system and that will take allot of time and changing the systemui.apk as well

Thanks for trying. I didnt know that the wallpaper can be so complicated. Maybe there is some way to make Honeycomb themes for multi Devices? i mean most of Honeycomb devices have the same specs... Or i just misunderstanding something?
ts not quite that easy but i have managed to get the white background now maby if you send me the link to the theme you wanted and i can work from there

Thats really cool. is that hard to change font color there too?
HEre is the link to the theme with white background. But i surfed some more web sites and found that actually the stock build of Android 3.2 for SGT10.1 was with white theme.
Thanks anyway, your wark is really great.
BTW add DONATE button to your profile. i'd really like to buy you some bear!
It would be illegal for you to buy me a beer because im 17 but thanks anyways
Here is the progress
Ok so it turns out that the same xml file controlls the colour of the text beside the icons and the main text in popup dialogues such as menus making hem really hard to read so the options right now are to make the background in settings a light grey or any slightly darker colour or make the text gray or any colour lighter than black

Ok, now its looking better. One more question. This square which is black, is that possible to make it gray or white too?
And btw files from SGT theme got some resource or not? Maybe there is something in the ROM itself?
About beer, it shouldn't be beer, but anything else.
ok the white settings menue is from the samsung 10.1 and the rest of the theme is from the htc jetstream i will see if i can edit the dark blue/grey to make it white but it might be dficult.
The icons and fonts ect are from the theme you linked me the rest is from me just editing files to try to get the right colour ill try to have it all loking polished in an hour
Ok i think that i have done all i can the dark square that has all the submenues is a .9.png and i dont have the skills needed to edit them and it doesn't seem like anyone else has been able to change it either
to install everything unzip then use android commander http://androidcommander.com/
To push the system file to the root of the sdcard allot of stuff will fc just reboot once

Changelog:
Edited the launcher with custom icons - see screenshots +the app background (when klicked) from orange to blue
Edited the statusbar to match the grey launcher
Edited the notification dropdown field
Changed the fontcolor to white (status bar)
A whole bunch of custom icons
The rest of the icons are ported from desire/stock and edited to match the theme
The power widget changed back to green illumination instead of cyan (stock instead of CM)
Changed the ugly icons in Mms.apk (the sms/mms pending, sent, error - next to the message texts)
Many app icons changed to match the theme
Camera lounch icon changed to stock (I run the desire camera MOD but liked the stock icon better, this changes the icon to stock if you have desire camera mod, for the rest of you this will not do anything noticable)
Readme.txt with info and install instructions inside the zip file

looks hot. you gonna make that grey and white minimalist thing system wide? I hope so I always thought that would look amazing on android. keep it up.
Looks brilliant, if you make that system-wide. On the other hand, I'm worried that your battery icon won't play nice with battery percentage, but then again I guess I can put a morph for battery icons on top.
Looks real good. Will you make it work for 5.0.6 when its done?
Thank you guys!
Yes I was thinking of making it gray/white/blue system wide, we will see how far my skills takes that
I am personnaly not using percentage on the battery icon, but I guess I could turn it 90 degrees CCW so it works with that too, or is it something with the color?
I will be sweitching to 5.0.6 shortly so there should not be any problems porting it i believe.

B

Wow looks good can't wait for it to be compatible with 5.0.6 and please keep the battery the way it is. Also what calendar widget is that?
Nice theme!
Please release a metamorph build of this.
To learn how to do this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=591329
Can you make the launcher icon and screen indicators white and maybe release it as a seperate mod?? Again nice work
Thanks.
By far the best theme for nexus I've seen. The statusbar color, font, icons all seem to blend like a theme straight from htc : ) Hope to see this work with CM 5.0.6
Thanks guys for your support and requests. I will help you with your request as soon as I get more time on my hands, realy busy right now!
I have done some more work on it, posted a new screen in my first post and replaced the first screen with an updated one.
I am running 5.0.5 right now but will upgrade later to 5.0.6 so I can test/edit it so it works. It should work on 5.0.6 also but I have not been able to test this yet. If it don't work, you could manually push the .png files and replace those in 5.0.6.
The calendar widget is smooth calendar from market, slightly edited in the settings of the widget.
I have not been able to use the colorChange.jar to update the text colors, will probly have to do that manually using smali/baksmali but I have to figure it out first. See the last screen of what I need to accomplish before it is ready.
Have edited more icons but not finished with all of them. Will also edit many of the .apks in system/app so the corresponding icons match those of my theme (the sms, email, gmail etc)
Here is a metamorph of my theme as it is now, not completely finished but works well (tested). Some icons and text colors are off but very usable still. It includes framework-res.apk and launcher2.apk from cyanogen 5.0.5.3
http://public.openmindedprojects.com/OMP.zip
Will work on it and update as soon as I can! (very hectic for me right now)
Regards,
B
Gonna test it out later tonight when i get home from work.
Looks really good, keep up the great work.
Couldnt wait. Flashed it on 5.0.6 and it looks great but I change to the desire status bar to match my wallpaper.
Love the launcher icon.
Looking good Glad it worked and that you like it.
Have added a couple more icons, will update as soon as there are enough changes worth updating.
It looks good, nice slate look.
Hope to see an update on the theme soon

It´s noShame thats making this theme. Ask him
I have released the "final" version now, check the updated 1st post for details!
die-hard: I think that spare parts have that option, not sure how it will play with the icon as it is light. Maybe can make the % font black?
Looks good, nice work
Is the mobiloperator name supposed to be gray or white? Its gray for me
Sorry the services.jar got mixed up, have updated the zip file - better now?
The text should be white and black as in the screenshots.

it works, but not perfectly. The background needs to be made tileable.
Things I had to do
1) uninstall the old apk.
adb uninstall -d com.kalicinscy.wallpaper.starfield
2) sign and then install this one.
adb install -r StarfieldLeopard.apk
3) enable "Background" in LWP settings.
Screenshot and apk attached.
edit: removed attachments.
thanks got it, when i have that working i will let you know. in the mean time can you check what happens if you put the full wallpaper in the assests/texture folder? maybe the width measurements i made on the first one was not adequate. Unless the exact measurements are coded in followed by making the image tilable. If that is the case, i will put some effort in to making a tilable version of the wall.
It might get really slow though!
the file has to be renamed to starfield_04.png
I used the gimp's filters->map->make seamless tool and it helped a lot.
Its not perfect. Added a bluish version too.
edit: removed attachments.
thats awesome mate, i am a newbie here but already feeling good that senior guys are helping us out! You think you can recode the black stars to white though?
One final request bro,
>here<
is the final image i made using your gimp concept, it worked out well with a slight touch from ps cs4 , could you use this and attach the final apk for me.
Thanks
Below is a new colored icon aswell for the new starfieldlep edition!
All Done! ^Check the first post!! ^
can I check the source for problems?
really cool, i like this new bg than the original.
question, why are some star streaks black instead of white?
Are you finished working on this apk? I mean wallpaper.. The pictures are absolutely stunning. I dont have a N1 yet (42 more days till I do) and I could see this being a full-time wallpaper when I do get one.
I like this Live Wallpaper, but sometimes the app is closed with an error
is there any way that i can get the source so that i can work on errors in it?
Sorry guys for the late reply, but thanks, @samir5421 i downloaded the apk by googling as i have not rooted the n1, if you have a rooted version i am sure you can download the updated apk (starfield) from the market and fix the errors :S
I think the version I have downloaded was a pretty old build compared to the one that is up on the market right now. I am attaching the files I made changes to aswell as the original apk.
@cdmove, I am not actually any good with this, I am just a graphics designer and so i wish someone could get into the guts of this and change the black streaks to white as I have no knowledge on how to edit android resources yet.
>Wallpaper< assets/textures folder
>App Icon< res/drawable

yup and also the stars start of as black [blending into the original bg(b/w)], and move to white, which actually makes sense as or else there would be too many white dots on the screen popping up at the same time, but if its possible to change the gradient from black to white to white to white we could judge it for ourselves.
any fix yet on the fc's? i really like how this looks!
stars with background really slow. maybe you can change the star's background color instead of use an image.
This theme is based off of distINCtINC's theme "INCredible distINCtion v1.7 : inversion" Found Here
The framework-res.apk and com.htc.resources.apk were used and modified.
All Credit goes to distINCtINC

wallpaper popup clash - fixed
text msg attachment clash - fixed

wow this looks great
Thanks alot guys, this was such a pain, and im finding some problems now that ihtfp69 warned me about. each app has its own thing, like in phone if you like go to delete a contact the list shows up white on white. any help to fix this would be great as im learning as i go!
No more worries lads, tis been fixed!! V2 is downloading now and will be ready in a few minutes!!
does this theme remove the toggles in the drop down menu? I tried flashing the blue theme and it took them all away. so i had to flash back. Toggles are more important than the color to me. Thanks for this SR3.5 is great.
Do I have to wipe any data before flashing?

beyond believe, to get it to theme right. there is only one clash right now that I can't seem to figure out and hoping someone can help
I followed the steps in this thread, but it didn't seem to work with Sense. Is this anywhere close to what you did? You might be able to PM thebowers if you are stuck or some of the other guys on this thread.
OK so I flashed this theme and the battery icon was completely missing. There was none at all, just a gap where it used to be. I have no luck with these themes. Loved the color scheme tho, what did i do wrong?
Same here....battery was missing. Used mm to get my white circle battery back though and now I'm happy
....also found that in launcherpro, long press on homescreen has a list that is black text in black background (like the wallpaper bug).
Not a big deal, I like the theme
Did a nandroid, but is there any other way to easily revert to stock?
crap sorry guys its cos i use the stock 0/20/40/60/80/100% battery mod I forgot that most use the 1-100%. its a simple edit in an xml file I will fix tomrorow. now im trying to fix that pesky black on black text and updating all the images to a be more white
NP ACD thanks for all the work on SR3.5. Glad to see we have support for it. I'll check back tomorrow for the fix.
Anyone making or thinking about making a theme that will go with the official Gingerbread leak we got?
Hopefully others will sound off as well with interest, something clean would be nice and please no more blue, phone has red accents for the love of God. Red, black, white, transparent would all be fine if anyone is up to it, it would be greatly appreciated.
I always theme mine green.
I have mine themed up with green notification icons in the status bar, semi transparent rosie dock with green icons.
Wait so is there a way to put a battery percentage in the notification bar? This is really the only thing I'm missing.

Anytime I have played with the framework (on my own) in the past it has led to problems, whether it be metamorph and ninjamorph I always seem to get boot loops.
I have yet to try the UOT Kitchen just hoping the community comes up with some theming options I can just flash in cwm and go from there.
What kind of themes were you guys looking for?
By "Gingerbread theme," does that mean the stock Gingerbread look instead of the Sense stuff? Like Skyraider 4.

I cant speak for everyone but I was looking for a theme that has a nice and clean look to it and maybe changes the colors up a bit. Changing everything that is green to red/black or white/black would look nice. Also changing up the status bar some and the notification pull down window would be awesome. That bright white pull down window is bland, boring, and BLINDING!

Yea no prob man take your time. Look forward to it.
So, I pieced together a black and red-ish theme. Looks really cool, from what I can see of it.
I'm getting loads of force closes all over, and the lock screen looks a little weird. Would anyone with more theming experience care to jump in and help me sort it out a little?
I was just messing with with some stuff as well.
I don't have the sdk on my PC and don't really know much about signing apk's and things like that but what I was doing was going into the apk's on my computer (for framework, htc.resourse, and systemUI) and just altering every .png i found that was green and changing it to a nice red.
What I was hoping to do was do that for all 3 apk's and then add those files to the UOT Kitchen to basically bind them all together while also throwing on a battery mod or something.
Probably pretty ass backwards but with my limited exp. I thought it might work.
Only problem is I can't find .png's for a few things like the green android that comes up during a phone call, and I didn't want to take hours changing everything if I wasn't going to be able to complete this project 100%.
I highly recommend [ROM][8/25] McSense v1.1 - GingerSense 1.0 by 00McD00. Ive been running it for while with no issues. Status bar is solid black, pull down is solid black with white notifications, slate style call and lockscreen, and its just as quick as any of the other new stock roms- cool stuff. He seems pretty open to new ideas so anyone with decent know-how could probably help it along.
Thanks man but I pretty much got all of that already by using UOT Kitchen ^^^.
Only thing I couldn't get to work right in the Kitchen was changng the entire notification screen black and having the text be white as seen here:

After a reboot text comes out black and you can't read it unless you click on it.
I am guessing on McSense Rom that he left the space white with black text?
Right... I'm gonna have to look into UOT...
In case anyone is still interested, I got my force close issues sorted out. I've got a few images that need to be resized, but that shouldn't take too much more work.
I can have something up for you guys in the next few days.

Awesome man and good to know. Like I said take your time, if the finished product comes out well it will be worth it.
Hi everyone! This is my very first attempt at a theme and personally I found a lack of super simple themes so I decided to create a flat style theme for my device and just wanted to share it.
Along with the theme I have added a wallpaper and it was a picture that I took with the S7 itself a just last night in Downtown Toronto. Hope you guys like it! If I get good input I might try to make more and create advanced themes. The lock screen also has a snow effect kind of to represent the fall time is passing and winter is coming
Thanks goes to:

5. Delete the /data/overlays/preferences folder
6. Restart your phone
Please leave a thanks if you liked it, and if you hated it, tell me why so I can improve it
P.S. I didn't change any of the icons, I am looking towards doing that for the next release, IF this gets good feed back
You're right, there aren't many simple themes. Theme store sucks a bit. When it comes to suggestions maybe you can change the tone of blue, make it a bit darker; and background grey a bit lighter. I like how you made the lines in phone app invisible, I hate them. I love the icons the way they are. Also, maybe you can change the yellow message buble.
And I was wondering if you encountered any problems with theme editor because when I render preview pictures some are glitchy.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll be working on those changes then in the morning but I understand why you'd want the blue darker. The background I did kick it down a notch and made it a little off white but I can adjust that too. The yellow message bubble! Shoot forgot about the messaging app, personally I use Textra so I don't normally use the stock app.
As for the theme editor, I have had no problems running it at all actually, I just downloaded it today and it worked right after install. Are you sure your computer is up to date? Or maybe the theme editor needs a dependency like Java? Although it would normally point that out of that was the case. Are you using the one I linked above? It worked fine for me
Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

I don't think themes are rom dependant. Actually I'm not sure if Samsung has support for Android N themes and such but it your device is a Samsung then go ahead and try it, it doesn't hurt to try
