Help - ActiveSync Menu gone. - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

Hello All,
I have an issue that I have lost my Active sync Menu.
what use to happen is when I hooked up my HD2 to the PC. I would get the following menu.
1. ActiveSync
2. Internet Sharing
3. Use as Hard Disk
I now don't have these options appearing and my HD2 just defaults to Syncup with my PC.
I really would like these options to be displayed as it can take a long time to transfer large files to your storage card.
Any help appreciated.
Regards

Start > Settings > Connections > USB to PC > untick the box at the bottom

Thanks to the_scotsman.
Much Appreciated. Very Happy Now!!

USB Connection menu gone!

Hi.
I'm using the TP for quite some time now without too much hassle, but one thing annoys me.
For a few days the selection menu is gone when you connect your TP to USB. Normally it pops up a screen to select ActiveSync, FlashDrive or Internet Sharing mode.
Now, it just uses the last selection and I've never switched on the "Don't ask me again" button.
I've found the USB to PC settings which do about the same, but even if I switch on "Ask about connection type when I connect" it just doesn't. And then, I like the TouchFLO popup better.
Anyone a suggestion on how to get the selection screen back?
Thanks a bunch!
If you go to parameters, connexion, Usb parameters, you need to activate :
- Activesync (synchronise with Outlook)
- Activate the functionnality advanced netwerk
- Ask the type of connexion when connected
Same here.
im too afraid to tick the dont ask again box insase i cant find it again. it does sometimes not appear though
Perhaps the USB cable you use is not optimal.
Do you try also with the original one??
As strange as the menu disappeared, it was there again yesterday all of a sudden.
It appears "fixed" but I must agree, it doesn't show every time... Definately...

Sync Problems

Ok, I admit I am a total noob I have only had this phone a day and I was able to get it to sync with my computer last night. However, today when trying to sync I plug it in and activesync makes a sound like its recognized the device but does nothing and continues to say the device is not connected.
I am using the standard rom and have enabled data communications in the connections screen. I have tried hard and soft resets.
Please help me...
Also on a weird note it is detecting the device as a file drive but it has a ton of photos and music that I did not load onto the phone in the device folder. Also the mobile device folder is empty.
Thank you in advance.
Go to Start-> Settings -> Connections-> USB to PC and uncheck the "Enable advanced network functionality".
Connect your mobile to PC. It will be recognized (but not synch) by the ActiveSynch.
Then take it out and re-enable the "advanced network functionality".
Connect your mobile to PC agian and it will work again.
This works for me. It happened yesterday.
No go. Windows recognized it as an mobile device but activesync was still unable to connect to the device.
Also, when connecting the device as a disk drive I can see some apps i've installed in the program file, but it is still showing alot of items I didn't add. These files don't appear to be on the device. After deleting those extra files I tried to send new pictures to the device which would not transfer.
Any Ideas?

Mass Storage On Mac

So my mac wont recognize my devices internal or external memory card. Anyone else have any problems?
edit: started working for some reason.
Edit 2: I figured it out I had to install double twist and by default it enables auto mass storage mode with USB debugging enabled. You can not achieve this otherwise.
I have the same problem, and even have double twist installed. Still no luck, but I'm still looking. There have been several occurrences where Samsung devices of multiple types not communicating with OSX.
As the OP stated, I think you have to enable USB debugging as well. Did you do that?

goto settings, application, development, then usb debugging!
On the Captivate, prepare your phone by Settings > Applications > USB Settings > Ask On Connection. Also, Settings > Applications >> Development > USB Debugging needs to be turned on.
Then connect the USB cable to the Mac, and drag the notification bar on the phone. It'll say USB connected - choose that and then it'll ask to Mount. Once you mount the SD card(s), they'll be visible on Mac OS X (Snow Leopard).
At least, that's what I did. No need for doubletwist.

[Q] WM6.5 - USB Connection type menu gone?

Hello,
First off, I'm owning a Samsung Omnia Qwerty (B7610) and I have a problem...
I'm trying to create a backup of my contacts by using the Samsung PC Studio software. Whenever I connect my USB cable to my phone, I usually get a selection menu whether to select "PC Studio", "Mass Storage" or "Active Sync". However, this menu is gone. Whenever I plug the cable in, it just starts with Active Sync (or Mass Storage) as defined in the settings screen. However, these things won't coƶperate with the PC Studio software.
Is there any way to get this menu back when I connect my USB cable to my phone?
If you don't know what I'm asking about, here's a picture that somewhat looks like the menu I'm trying to get:
byteshift.net/scr000014.jpg or byteshift.net/98835935.jpg
n.b.: put (www) before the links!
Thanks in advance.
#edit: this outside-link restriction thingy is annoying =[
I was looking for this just now too. I found it in Settings / All Settings / Connections / USB to PC.

photo thumbnails - windows 7?

Hey guys, for some time now no computer will display my photos thumbnails. Kind of annoying when trying to pick and choose which photos to pull off the phone.
Tried making sure thumbnail view is selected in windows.
Tried PTP and MPT mode.
Whats odd is the old photos will still display thumbnails but the new photos (last half or so) will not.
They display on the phone fine but through windows explorer no dice.
thanks
shameless bump..... nobody?

2. Settings > More > USB Utilities > Connect Storage to PC
If you're charging through USB it will tell you, "USB is connected. Remove the cable." So remove it and plug it back in again and then click the button which now says, "Turn on USB storage" then OK.
or Settings -> Wireless and network -> USB Utilities -> Connect storage to PC and connect it that way, then you'll get the icons.

Ive been through those first two links before posting, thanks tho
Im not quite understanding what your #2 option is saying. Are those settings on the phone or PC? Those sound like settings on a samsung phone with touchwiz not android itself. My only settings are MTP and PTP
this is something with the phone but its been doing it on my last two ROMs. half my pics do have thumbnails but the second later half do not.
Yes those steps should be done on your phone. I found it on other forums.
You could copy the folder on your PC then remove the unwanted pictures. No other ideas for Windows, sorry.
Me too. frustrating!
