TouchFlow 3D On MEGA - Touch2 Themes and Apps

Is it possible to get TF3D running on the MEGA for too?
I had installed it before, but TF3D start in an endless loop.

I dont think so, Mega doesnt support 3D, missing OpenGL driver (if i am not wrong)

Chriss, indeed don't do this.....there are some people who have it on similar devices (not Mega). Requires a lot of development.
Only solution for now wait till somebody has it done and reports it working....

hi, i have surfed a lot in the web and the results is:
MSM7225 528 is in touch2, snap, touch cruise, ecc ecc.
528mhz (overclocked by me at 640mhz)
and at this moment there aren't 3d drivers but when i copy 3dmapi.dll and openglES.dll in the windows directory i can run some 3d app.
i have installed also touchFlo3D and it start but not see well
help me to start 3d on this ppc please

How you overclocked MSM7225 , please share with us.

Man I have to say this sounds great. It's good to finally see some more progress for this device. I hope that you can make a guide for overclocking the processor and that tf3d will be available soon

Correct me , but with only coping files and overclocking a few MHz above wouldn't do the job .... from all i've read , it seem that HARDWARELY Mega could't support TF3D , if i'm wrong then it's only a matter of time before some1 make our dream(1 of 2)* come true !
P.S. *our other dream is Android runnin on Mega ;]]

Android will be closer simply because more people are interested in that......

we all united can do this

Device on steroids..... Thanks for sharing!
Have you noticed real performance improvement? Any impact on apps like TomTom?
Want to try but am a little careful because of generating extra heat or battery drain. Did you notice this?

We are getting a bit off topic......found these 2 threads with info on overclocking:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=725290
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=6564058
Some improvement reported in certain applications but also more battery. Otherwise seems stable app.

Hi.
Yes it is completely faster, also in TouchFlo and Menu, Messages, Internet, ecc, ecc.
In my mega no extra heat of the phone. The only things is that the battery drains a little bit before...but life is same good...but with more speed increase

very nice team i wish i could see andriod and touch flo 3d on my mega

Yes, it is possible to run TF3D on Mega.
I have bought my Mega a month ago, and it is coming with TF3D from the operator or manufacturer.
It is running pretty good and fast. Battery lasts 4-5 days.
I think that these "Mega"s, that are produced last year are coming with TF3D and newer ROM from the manufacturer.

Could you post some pics with TF3D running and also the specs of your MEGA??
Because it is impossible to run TF3D with the original processor and RAM.

Guys, over clocking may damage the device, as written on the HTC Performance config.
Still if it's working fine, just let me know.

Just checking up on this thread, is there any news on the mega having 3D?http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/confused.gif

Overclocking HTC Touch

don't know if this has been asked, but....
I know there is a overclocking util (BatteryStatus) for the older 200Mhz Touch.
But I got the CDMA HTC Touch (MP6900 ??) with the 400Mhz speed cpu, and the "BateryStatus" util does not work on it... actually it craped out the phone many times tonight... had to do many hard resets!! Crap !!
So.... is there a overclocking util for this version (runing windows mobile pro 6) any one know ???
thanks
Dweeb
Can't be done. A search would have told you that.

Why would you want to overclock it anyway? The battery usage would be increased and you would probably shorten the lifespan of the device....these things aint cheap you know
400 MHz in a pocket device like these is easily fast enough!
dont know if i agree with that... windows mobile isn't the best operating system because it's sloppy. so we need faster pocketpc's in all honesty.
even 400mhz isn't fast enough.
i'm also curious if its possible to squeeze just a little extra out of it (safely).
i love how my Touch works and how it's setup with windows mobile 6 and now this Manila 2D interface... but it's just always been slow. Even straight out of the box. I recently lost my phone and got a new one... Opened up the brand new one and it's just as slow as my other one.
i made registry tweaks too to increase ram usage and all those good things yo u can do there. no good in my opinion too slow for 2008... 2009 now.
great hardware. poor software. want to compensate for that by making the good hardware even better...

So, what version of the Touch do you have?

spec wise, which is better? tytn, tytn or wing?

Hey guys,
My friend wants to get a PPC and he wants to know which phone is better spec wise.
like which one runs faster.
tytn, tytn 2 or wing?
if you know can you put them in order from < (least to greatest)?
Thanks

The atlas is the wing. The "non blue" version of the wing is the herald.

how come the Wing's CPU speed is lower then the rest?

The wing has an omap 850 which is god awful slow, its also got only 64mb's of ram. tytn2>tytn>atlas

The explanation that the T-Mobile officials gives for the Wing's 200mhz processor is that, the Wing dosen't need a 400mHz processor. The Tytn and Tytn 2 both have 3G support hence that requires a faster processor, but T-Mobile dosen't support 3G in first place so the processor power for that is uneccesary.

i really don't find it that slow, it works just fine for me. You might have too many things running at the same time or too many Start up items.
i did put the best first and
a faster cpu is always better
for video games and general performance
though kaiser is missing a driver so
it got some performance issues

There is no "best" one. If you want power then Tytn 2 is the best one. If you want looks and a slim phone then the Wing is. The Tilt(Tytn 2 in America) is also heaver than the wing. So you have a choice of look and feel v/s power. Also if you are planning to use T-Mobile, then some of the Tytn 2's features are useless, same with the first Tytn.
the wing prob also last longer on a charge
but specwise is prob a pure hardware feature and power question more of an usability or requirement question

possibly, since a less powerfull processor requires less battery to run.

does this mean we can eventually get android on the tornado?
No. Android require 128 mb of ram
I don't think so.
Yesterday I ran Android on my development board with 64mb ram.
But I think the tornado is too slow for this. My board had 400mhz it made no fun to use.
This news are years old, and have been posted 1000 times before, next time use the search feature of the forum.

[Project] Improve Leo Driver Performance - Share your knowledge

*Driver found on post #2*
Hi Leo users,
As seen before on the MSM-72XX platform, HTC once again denied us of a fully working 3D graphics driver from Qualcomm. Why? I know it was a patent issue on the MSM720X chipset based devices.
It doesn't matter anyway, since it doesn't help us getting the Leo work the way it should.
Now, some users are already looking into this issue, and i'd like to combine all efforts in one thread, to make it a centralized discussion.
As with the MSM-based driverpack, there WILL be a driverpack for QSD-based devices, made by me, or others. However, it'll take a while, since I'm not able to test it myself. The MSM driver team only has 2 members with a Leo, so i'm depending on them to do my testing for me.
To set the tone of this discussion, look at this benchmark comparison, made on 15-11-2009.
Let the discussion begin!
Oh and a small p.s.: Please keep it on topic, posts like "OMG!!1! It's so slow!" are pretty useless. Thanks.
News
There's alot of interest in improving the graphics performance on the HD2. Chainfire is working on a fix already. Very good news.
You can find the patch here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=592663

wow...Neo is back for the Leo...AWESOME.
I know my HD was twice as quick after installing your drivers...can't wait for the final version of the driverpack.
Well, I'll repeat my question from the other thread: has anyone looked at what drivers are shipped with an Acer neoTouch, and does that tell us anything useful about what's going on with the HD2?
did you sign the last petition on MSM drivers to HTC? HTC seems least bothered about that. It seems we have to work out something ourselves. Let's get it work.

Petitions towards HTC don't work. The past proves that. We will have to do it ourselves. (again)
I'll wait before buying my HD2...
Thank you Neo !
Another question: can we say anything useful about the state of 2D video drivers on Leo? I'm a bit concerned at the suggestion that one needs to run CorePlayer in GDI mode. If CorePlayer's QTV overlay mode doesn't work on Snapdragon that's not necessarily surprising - different GPU, after all - but if it can't use DirectDraw either, does that suggest a problem with 2D driver support?

Well the current version of Coreplayer has support for the MSM-based devices. The Snapdragon SHOULD have backwards compatibility with the MSM platform. You could try and run GFXboost by Chainfire, which enables QTV on the MSM platform at all times. Maybe it works on QSD devices too.
Warning: GFXboost does not work on HTC HD2. After installing it, Leo does not see SD card. Hard restart is needed to get it fixed.
We've seen on the other thread the the OpenGL test runs faster when the screen is dimmed, so is there something other than the Opengl driver we can play with?
Thanks for letting us know about Gfxboost, maybe Chainfire could make it work on the HD2 too in time if needed.

QFE! Don't use it until Chainfire looks at it first!
In other news: check out the first post for a GLbenchmark comparison between a HD2, TG01, samsung OmniaHD and a Blackstone. Sadly, the HD2 places 3rd in the ranking, after the TG01 and on the first place: the OmniaHD. Obviously the Blackstone is the slowest, but hey: they Omnia HD only runs on 600 Mhz!

That's the influence of the PowerVR GPU, presumably. Slower CPU but better GPU.
EDIT: actually no, it looks like the Omnia HD is even managing to outperform the Snapdragon phones on the CPU benchmark. That's scary!
Does it get any sort of boost from having a lower screen resolution? Might also be a Symbian vs WinMo thing.
Here you go this a dump of the open Gl ES drivers of my acer neotouch s200, hope it helps, attach below:
ps: there are also other drivers included, not really sure if they are usefull.
also i can play any open gl es 1.0/1.1/2.0 game from xtrak to electopia, these drivers are even able to render Inofx.GeoRally.EX.v1.0 from the dell axim v51, of course they don't render it perfectly but im able to see the car rendered in 3d no textures tho and some of the menu elements.

I would not even dare to *overclock* my phone.
What advantages would this have as the rest of the hardware is not designed for this ?

I already fried one Artemis playing this silly overclock game..I got the what I call "fading to black screen syndrome". I was extremely lucky that my device was still under warranty and that HTC assistance couldn't detect it was my fault. So it is obvious that I absolutely NOT recommend to use such tools, also because the advantage you could take is nothing compared to the disadvantage of a even more poor battery life

Same here... Overclocked my HTC Touch. And killed it after a while..
(fortunately my warranty did the job after that^^ )
The tool "BatteryStatus" overclocked and underclocked the phone dynamic so it was battery friendly and faster..
It works great if you don't go too far with the processor speed
[edit] The cooked ROMs here are not overclocked I guess.. It would be mentioned to what mhz the ROMs clock our devices.
Tool "Battery Status" ? Have you link or can upload cab ?
Do you mind on Battery Guard maybe ?
Regards
I used BatteryStatus to overclock my HTC Touch. On the Topaz it does not over/underclock the cpu...
(At least I didn't find the option to change cpu speed)
overclocking
I would apreciate the possibility of dynamicly overclocking the TOPAZ.
I don´t find it that fast though, having disabled htc-sense, using spb MS 3.5 instead.
Maybe have to downgrad to MS 3 ..
I was so glad having BatteryStatus installed on my htc ELF, usually running with 200MHZ.
overclocked dynamicly between 112 - 299 (turbo-, basic 273) and my little elf was damn fast but economicly working with its battery.
Any app simular to BS for the Topaz would be worth donating at least € 10,--
