I made this for fun since someone had made a version of SuperD based off my kernel from back well months ago lol - thought I should give a try at working on the ROM
This is a pretty one time thing. If people like the speed differences a lot, someone talk to Ben about working the kernel into SuperD

I will be monitering this thread for feedback

This have the RAM hack?

yup yup, sorry just added that

will keep you posted. i got the update during class so it's something i'll be playing with the next couple days. thanks brah.

Starting it up now.
Edit: Right off the bat i was able to go from flashed to homescreen in about 3 minutes.
Everything looks smooth so far, i'm in the process of installing some apps. Should be fun

Testing out now, thanks Wes!
Feedback - will add to this list
ADB is working (not currently working on RHack versions of 1.9.3)
CC works fine
BT works
BenchmarkPi is a LIL bit faster (between 12970 - 13650 for WG-Kernel) will test orig tomorrow
Overall: Seems speedy so far, gonna be hard to tell the difference as Ben's kernel is already pretty quick
EDIT: For those of you that are lazy like me, you CANNOT simply pull and flash the boot.img as it breaks CC. Just FYI

[ROM] Super D 1.9.3 with [Official] WG-Kernel v3-beta(10mb RHack)
I have been using this all day and it is running really smooth without any problems at all. It is very fast and I have not noticed any glitches yet, I'm loving it.

flashing now...

Just a question, but how have you been running this all day. It was just released like ~40min ago. If you mean SuperD 1.9.3 then your in the wrong forum, this is just for the WG-Kernel for SuperD193

Is wipe recommended coming from SD 1.9.3?

So this is the SuperD everyone is talking about with wes's kernel added and I DON'T need Danger SPL to flash it? Tell me I have this correct. I've been wanting to try this rom out but have tried to avoid the DSPL route. Any partition lay out requirements?

no its the same as superd but just with dif kernel we are looking for differances to compare to, as I use cyanogen kernel in mine and ya benchmark speed test etc on this ROM

this.. is... QUICK!
with the original 1.9.3 With ram hack, i had this weird dragging effect, and slow from the get go, but this version is QUICK!
bbuchacher you should DEFENATELY use this kernel, or find some way to make your kernel faster than this, great work ben and great work wes, you guys are geniouses

Im also noticing an increase in performance.

Without doing much tests, the system feels faster with this kernel at least when changing apps and switching between desktops. BTW, is there a way to do a more "objective" speed test?

Thoughts on the need to wipe coming from Super D 1.9.3 to this???

So I guess because of the ram hack, I wouldn't be able to play all the cool games.

Works like a charm. Much faster then the standard kernel.

Donut roms:
BlueMagic (27,7 fps with neocore benchmark - sound off, 24,3FPS with sound)
SuperCSDI probably about the same (BlueMagic is based on that)
FastTest gaming edition
SuperD without ramhack is slooow in comparison to those.
not shure about wgarner's kernel.
The very best would be vodafone magic 32b... but its cupcake.

Would like to see a benchmark of it. download neocore from the market

JIT makes the apps open and operate something like 3x faster (I think) but is still very buggy and can cause some FC errors from what I have read and is far from stable as of yet.
But if your games are still not playing properly on the suggested roms then a possible solution but be prepared for a few hiccups.

Super D 1.9.3 Non Ram Hack Ver. is definitely the one to get if you're into gaming.
Im running it now even though I have no major android games running but notice the emulators (nes,gb,gba) run more smoother and less lag.
Take chances and install that Rom and you will be set.

Not true.
If anything, it makes Java parts faster. But 3D-games are mostly C anyway.
Plus JIT uses up more RAM what is desperately needed on our phones...
So no increase here. rather the other way round imho...

Setcpu or overclock widget from this board/from market.
I've got 28.3 fps with airplanemode without sound on blue magic.
But i doubt that those are realistic gaming speeds. firstly there is no input. Input needs to be handeled what costs speed. Plus its a heavily optimized demo by qualcomm. I mean come on... they want to prove that their chips are worth buying... no game designer has enough time to get it running as fast as this one minute demo...

works
Flashed to my 32B with cm 5.0.8 ... works and stable enough, no problems. It's cleared up some stuttering I was having with scrolling.
I don't really game so can't say anything for fps but it's definatley made a few apps that got a bit laggy slicker somehow. Dare I say browser page loads are a little better.

I've only had it for a day, so what I say won't be 100% accurate, but I haven't really noticed a decrease (or an increase) in battery life. It feels like it's the same.
But keep in mind that individual results may vary ^__^
Wow, awesome kernel! Makes a huge difference in SNESoid and other games at lower CPU freqs! Now to see about battery life...

It might just be the recent battery recallibration but im seeing damn good battery increases imo.

[KERNEL][GPL][ACS]Xtreme Kernel v1.2.0-Lucy-1.3GHz OC,Battery,Tweaked Voodoo(options)

ANDROID CREATIVE SYNDICATEpresentsXTREME KERNEL V1.2.0
First of all, I want to put my thank yous up here at the top, so, here they are:
-geniusdog254 - My primary teammate, been helping me every step of way.
-nullghost - One really cool dude. Always on when I ask for help. Git would still be a scary thing if not for him.
-rjmjr69 - Funny, funny dude. Keeps me motivated to keep going
-The Voodoo Team - Your work is awesome!
-My beta testers - You were/are all great. Thanks for helping me with this!
-All the devs across the board - Seriously, you're all a bunch of absolutely awesome people.
-Anyone I forgot - You're all great!
Now, here we go:
THE STANDARD DISCLAIMER
I, DevinXtreme, AM NOT responsible for what happens to your phone, your cat, your house, or anything relating to you! If your phone bricks, OH WELL. Have a nice day.
This kernel has a MixUp kernel base. DI18, blah blah. I deviated once Interactive got working. I also removed the Voodoo color modification. So, there's that.
It is built and designed for Syndicate ROM, which will be out later tonight. Sickest ROM you've ever seen. The version released with the ROM is slightly different, but only for fun's sake
Changelog:
v1.2.0
-Removed the 1.6GHz step. The time machine is gone. Plus, was causing more problems than it was helping.
-Added 1.3GHz step courtesy Herver
-Switched from MPLL to APLL. Smoothness and speed increase. Thanks to nullghost for help on this.
-Added Voodoo color mod, tweaked version, courtesy Herver. I will be maintaining a no-voodoo version. I just haven't yet.
-Tweaked the light sensor, adding a new step and made it not jump to the brightest setting as much. Should save battery and transition smoother. Also pols a little more often.
-Tweaked scaling rules for 1.3GHz. Should scale there less, thus saving battery.
ADDITION: The file ending in 'nv.zip' is a no-voodoo version. The file ending in 'ov.zip' is the version for the original voodoo mod, not the tweaked one.
v1.0.1
-Fixed scaling. Linpack scores and tests work fine now.
-Disabled Carrier IQ in init.rc. Carrier IQ is essentially Sprint spyware. Kernel devs: This is really easy to do. Just comment out the iqmsd lines at the end.
v1.0
-Overclock to 1.6GHz!! Requires SetCPU which is, for some reason, defaulting to performance. Make sure you change it to conservative.
-Default governor without SetCPU is conservative with 200MHz-1GHz steps.
-Removed Voodoo
-Framerate unlocked (78-80fps)
-Built for ROMs with a custom boot. Makes stock boot look like garbage. We're working (still) to fix this.
-Undervolted
KNOWN BUGS:
-In spare parts, if you set the WiFi policy to never sleep, it still sleeps with the screen off. -skandranon314
-Some weird vibration thing going on when 1.6GHz is hit.
NOTES:
Linpack is being strange with this. I'm getting between 9.2 and 9.8 with some REALLY strange numbers. I'll have this fixed this weekend.
SetCPU sets the default governor to performance. If you use it, be sure to change it immediately for battery life.
FOR 1.2
-I recommend 200MHz-1200MHz. Some phones can't reach 1.3GHz safely.
-200MHz - 800/1000MHz is a great setting for battery and you should still have a very smooth experience.
For those who care, I get 1135+ in quadrant.
You can read my source here.
Thanks, guys. I hope you enjoy!

So would you recommend flashing the new one when it's up since you're tweaking it?
Hmm.. something's not right here. I just got 22 fps in Neocore with the removed kernel. What could I be doing wrong?
Edit: Switching from performance to conservative upped my results to 62 fps which is quite respectable.

Yeah, it'll be a good idea.
what kind of voltage are you giving it to get 1.6 stable? based on what im reading, anything above 1.3/1.4 is pretty much unachievable on these devices and is not really the speed that the device is running thus the unscaled rise in benchmark scores. iv been following hero_over and he couldnt get a stable 1.4 OC although he did get 1.3ghz on stock volts stable..which keeps me wondering if we really can hit 1.6 stable

All of it is on my git. I release my source, as devs should with GPL. The problem is that the fsb isn't scaled properly, affecting the floating point processor, causing low Linpack scores. I'll have it worked out this weekend,

[Pre Release] - FuguMod Ultra | OC -> 1366MHz + 1% Battery MOD + Voodoo Sound

FuguMod Ultra
This is by far the best Kernel I've used in my SG3. I had stuck to the FuguMod 2.2 Bleeding Edge version for quite a long time, and I was terribly missing the 1% Battery MOD. And I learned the hard way, that the FuguMod 2.4 Alpha 14 (the other kernel that can be Overclocked to 1.3GHz & has the 1% MOD) has a huge battery drain problem.
This one right here, which was prescribed to me by marcellusbe is amazing!
The battery life is great, even after being overclocked to 1.3GHz. Its pretty stable (No Freeze/ForceClose issues so far), and the phone has almost completely stopped lagging. The phone isn't heating up even @ 1.3Ghz. Scored 15+ in Linpack and got a Quadrant Score of 900+ [Check Signature for Screenshots ].
All the ROM makers out there should check this one out!

Created By : marcellusbe
P.S : This is NOT the official release of the Kernel. Marcellusbe will bring out the last build of the Bleeding Edge Ultra Edition after testing out other frequencies and adding a few extra features like the Voodoo Sound Recording. Wait for it

Ok, I will check that out.. thanks for posting!

@Jazux : - Cool banner.
It's the last build of the bleedingedge ultra edition .. I didn't released it yet since I wanted to test others frequencies and add some features (like voodoo sound recording) but you can use it.
Attention : it could not work on all device because of high overclocking.
Last note about this kernel : it has a bug in the battery driver (well it's not really a bug but a side effect of the overclocking) .. it show 100% battery full after some minutes even if the battery is not full ...

Well I'll have to ask Haree to delete it now because it was probably the kernel. Using this kernel i had Angry Birds Rio AND Poweramp running music and it didn't skip a beat. I'm using Krillos 5.7 and the new setcpu seems to have some new governors! Savagedzen, smartass and minmax. I'm using SavagedZen and it's running very very nice. It would also appear that it has the option to undervolt within it! and to think i was considering changing to a stock rom....pffff
Edit: Just added doing a full titanium backup to that list of stuff going on at the same time and STILL no music stuttering!

I realized that this Kernel was amazing when I saw Asphalt working brilliantly! Waiting for the official release. It might take a while as marcellusbe right now has his hands full with the CM7 port
For now, the Pre-Release version will do!

really ticked, need advice..

okay soo i started off loving my tbolt. i ran bamf ginger remix for months without issues. i then changed to aosp and while i prefer it, many bugs and bad battery life are keeping me away.
so i went back to bamf and while i feel at home, i get alot of lag no matter what kernel i use. i need some advice on what to do and what rom is the fastest/lag free with the best kernel combo.
im dying here guys.
as far as setcpu settings i usually use ondemand or interactive no higher than 1228/245.

As far as I can tell, the Ziggy kernel in the latest Gingeritis3D is the smoothest. Might be something newer in the synergy ROM, but I'm getting good battery life and things are nearly lag-free.
I am running OMFGB right now, and while I do prefer AOSP roms, the battery life isn't great. I have an extended battery so the battery life for me isn't an issue.
I agree with the previous post in regards to Gingeritis 3D. I had version VII installed, deleted almost all sense out with Tibu and used ADW EX. It was nice having some sense, lockscreen, pulldown, but that was all I really liked about sense. I oc'd to 1.4 and thought it ran great with excellent battery life.

I haven't messed with uberBAMF yet. I understand it's a work in progess. I'm not sure what kernel it uses, but it might be worth giving a go. I'd love to think it's NOT a Ziggy or Imoseyon kernel just because I think Sense kernels NEED a LOT more attention.
im going to stick to bamf ginger remix until the theory 1.3x rom goes final. the newest ziggy kernel in synergy isn't very good imo, very laggy. i just extracted the gingeritis one and it's a kernel build from july, it's one of the better ziggy kernels. you know, the one from my thread that was removed. ill stick to it for the time being.
i just wish there were more stable aosp roms. no offense to cm7 or the devs, it's just not 100% yet and the battery life is ****, at least for me.

The Ziggy's in Gingeritis3D is different than the Ziggy's in the older Gingeritis. The clock settings and smartass parameters are different. I think part of the reason that Ziggy kernel is as lagy as it is sometimes is because of his smartass governor parameters. I think if they were tweaked to be a little less stingy the phone might be much snappier. As it is, that kernel seems VERY reluctant to creep past 1 GHz, like the load requirement for stepping up is fairly high. I think it's ramp down is just a little too aggressive, and the period of load polling too long as well.

I'm not sure it is. I know that one didn't go up to 2GHz. It's definitely a similar build. The up_threshold on the smartass on that one you extracted seemed even more aggressive than this one. I had issues typing with it if I set the min_freq too low. I run this one at 122MHz without a problem.
Edit: Actually, I'm sure it's not. The one you extracted didn't have the camera fix for the new base Chingy used for beta 6 and 7.

Wouldn't be surprised knowing how he works.
I would recommend trying the uber bamf preview 3. I tested out preview 1 and it was by far the smoothest feeling ROM I've used and it also gave me the greatest battery life I've ever had on my Thunderbolt. They've fixed a few bugs since preview 1 so I'm sure it's even better now. It includes a stock kernel by the way.
You may also want to try the latest nightly Synergy ROM, it's what I'm on now. Performance has been pretty good and battery is okay. I have SetCPU at 1344/245 with lagfree.

not a huge fan of synergy, i may give uber a whirl.
Go back to the stock released ROM (rooted, if you prefer to make things easier). That should be the baseline for everything.

Then quit'yer'*****in. Throw a bunch of modified stuff into the mix, and you get what you pay for.
