[Pre Release] - FuguMod Ultra | OC -> 1366MHz + 1% Battery MOD + Voodoo Sound - Galaxy 3 Android Development

FuguMod Ultra
This is by far the best Kernel I've used in my SG3. I had stuck to the FuguMod 2.2 Bleeding Edge version for quite a long time, and I was terribly missing the 1% Battery MOD. And I learned the hard way, that the FuguMod 2.4 Alpha 14 (the other kernel that can be Overclocked to 1.3GHz & has the 1% MOD) has a huge battery drain problem.
This one right here, which was prescribed to me by marcellusbe is amazing!
The battery life is great, even after being overclocked to 1.3GHz. Its pretty stable (No Freeze/ForceClose issues so far), and the phone has almost completely stopped lagging. The phone isn't heating up even @ 1.3Ghz. Scored 15+ in Linpack and got a Quadrant Score of 900+ [Check Signature for Screenshots ].
All the ROM makers out there should check this one out!

Created By : marcellusbe
P.S : This is NOT the official release of the Kernel. Marcellusbe will bring out the last build of the Bleeding Edge Ultra Edition after testing out other frequencies and adding a few extra features like the Voodoo Sound Recording. Wait for it
For more details, head over to the Official Thread.

Ok, I will check that out.. thanks for posting!
Edit:
great kernel! Really speed things up!
I have set it with SetCPU to 975 MHz for a stability and speed.
and option is on demand.

I'm not sure. But there is no risk of a hardbrick... There is no bootloader in the kernel

@Jazux : - Cool banner.

It's the last build of the bleedingedge ultra edition .. I didn't released it yet since I wanted to test others frequencies and add some features (like voodoo sound recording) but you can use it.
Attention : it could not work on all device because of high overclocking.
Last note about this kernel : it has a bug in the battery driver (well it's not really a bug but a side effect of the overclocking) .. it show 100% battery full after some minutes even if the battery is not full ...

I know! I can't wait for the official release!

Okay so I just installed this kernel and it's absolutely epic. You remember that thread I made with the skipping music? Well I'll have to ask Haree to delete it now because it was probably the kernel. Using this kernel i had Angry Birds Rio AND Poweramp running music and it didn't skip a beat. I'm using Krillos 5.7 and the new setcpu seems to have some new governors! Savagedzen, smartass and minmax. I'm using SavagedZen and it's running very very nice. It would also appear that it has the option to undervolt within it! and to think i was considering changing to a stock rom....pffff
Edit: Just added doing a full titanium backup to that list of stuff going on at the same time and STILL no music stuttering!

[KERNEL][GPL][ACS]Xtreme Kernel v1.2.0-Lucy-1.3GHz OC,Battery,Tweaked Voodoo(options)

ANDROID CREATIVE SYNDICATEpresentsXTREME KERNEL V1.2.0
First of all, I want to put my thank yous up here at the top, so, here they are:
-geniusdog254 - My primary teammate, been helping me every step of way.
-nullghost - One really cool dude. Always on when I ask for help. Git would still be a scary thing if not for him.
-rjmjr69 - Funny, funny dude. Keeps me motivated to keep going
-The Voodoo Team - Your work is awesome!
-My beta testers - You were/are all great. Thanks for helping me with this!
-All the devs across the board - Seriously, you're all a bunch of absolutely awesome people.
-Anyone I forgot - You're all great!
Now, here we go:
THE STANDARD DISCLAIMER
I, DevinXtreme, AM NOT responsible for what happens to your phone, your cat, your house, or anything relating to you! If your phone bricks, OH WELL. Have a nice day.
This kernel has a MixUp kernel base. DI18, blah blah. I deviated once Interactive got working. I also removed the Voodoo color modification. So, there's that.
It is built and designed for Syndicate ROM, which will be out later tonight. Sickest ROM you've ever seen. The version released with the ROM is slightly different, but only for fun's sake
Changelog:
v1.2.0
-Removed the 1.6GHz step. The time machine is gone. Plus, was causing more problems than it was helping.
-Added 1.3GHz step courtesy Herver
-Switched from MPLL to APLL. Smoothness and speed increase. Thanks to nullghost for help on this.
-Added Voodoo color mod, tweaked version, courtesy Herver. I will be maintaining a no-voodoo version. I just haven't yet.
-Tweaked the light sensor, adding a new step and made it not jump to the brightest setting as much. Should save battery and transition smoother. Also pols a little more often.
-Tweaked scaling rules for 1.3GHz. Should scale there less, thus saving battery.
ADDITION: The file ending in 'nv.zip' is a no-voodoo version. The file ending in 'ov.zip' is the version for the original voodoo mod, not the tweaked one.
v1.0.1
-Fixed scaling. Linpack scores and tests work fine now.
-Disabled Carrier IQ in init.rc. Carrier IQ is essentially Sprint spyware. Kernel devs: This is really easy to do. Just comment out the iqmsd lines at the end.
v1.0
-Overclock to 1.6GHz!! Requires SetCPU which is, for some reason, defaulting to performance. Make sure you change it to conservative.
-Default governor without SetCPU is conservative with 200MHz-1GHz steps.
-Removed Voodoo
-Framerate unlocked (78-80fps)
-Built for ROMs with a custom boot. Makes stock boot look like garbage. We're working (still) to fix this.
-Undervolted
KNOWN BUGS:
-In spare parts, if you set the WiFi policy to never sleep, it still sleeps with the screen off. -skandranon314
-Some weird vibration thing going on when 1.6GHz is hit.
NOTES:
Linpack is being strange with this. I'm getting between 9.2 and 9.8 with some REALLY strange numbers. I'll have this fixed this weekend.
SetCPU sets the default governor to performance. If you use it, be sure to change it immediately for battery life.
FOR 1.2
-I recommend 200MHz-1200MHz. Some phones can't reach 1.3GHz safely.
-200MHz - 800/1000MHz is a great setting for battery and you should still have a very smooth experience.
For those who care, I get 1135+ in quadrant.
You can read my source here.
Thanks, guys. I hope you enjoy!

So would you recommend flashing the new one when it's up since you're tweaking it?
Hmm.. something's not right here. I just got 22 fps in Neocore with the removed kernel. What could I be doing wrong?
Edit: Switching from performance to conservative upped my results to 62 fps which is quite respectable.

what kind of voltage are you giving it to get 1.6 stable? based on what im reading, anything above 1.3/1.4 is pretty much unachievable on these devices and is not really the speed that the device is running thus the unscaled rise in benchmark scores. iv been following hero_over and he couldnt get a stable 1.4 OC although he did get 1.3ghz on stock volts stable..which keeps me wondering if we really can hit 1.6 stable

All of it is on my git. I release my source, as devs should with GPL. The problem is that the fsb isn't scaled properly, affecting the floating point processor, causing low Linpack scores. I'll have it worked out this weekend,

[gpl][kernel]Bakedsnack1.4 Kernel

Hey guys just wanted to share the kernel from my 1.4 rom. of course its not gunna be as fast on other roms as ive built it around my rom but i can pretty much guarantee it is faster than whats out. not in linpack but in speed.
this kernel overclocks to 1.3ghz but may not work for everyone considering everyones phone is different. (some people cant run 1.2!)
http://bakedsnackshack.com/source/herospecial.zip (lowest voltages for 1.3ghz)

And to be fair, I've only tested ASC xtreme on Baked Snack 1.4. I'm sure on Syndicate ROM, xtreme kernel performs better, just as herospecial probably performs better on Bakedsnack ROM.

Given that init.rc is in the initramfs, and that your kernel should be/is overwriting it, that's probably not the issue. We did remove iqmsd after killing it in init.rc, but chances are that won't affect anything (unlike libiq_client.so and libiq_service.so, which remain).

Its not overwritin anything. Unless you have a pointless initramfs folder in your rom. I was saying that maybe your boot setup in init.rc may differ. Guess not but it sounds ramdisk related unless I uploaded the wrong file. Great work on acs by the way. Looks good

Yes Herver, but since I like testing, I find myself flashing and trying different ROMs / kernel combinations on a weekly basis. I have to say, herospecial.zip (1.3 ghz @ stock voltage) was ridiculously fast and stable for me. I've also had the best battery life from Hero's ROMs, and 1.4 is no different. Currently, I'm testing out SyndicateROM which is running Devin's Xtreme kernel, and that is also very solid. Might keep it for a while unless I can't get good battery life like I used to get with yours. It all depends on preference, I really like your themed out ROMs too, but may play around with Syndicate for a bit. Even schizo's Epic Experience is something I test around in between all this as well.
I'm just glad we're finally getting to see the potential of this phone due to developers like yourselves. Much appreciated

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1020637
DON'T USE THE ROM, IT IS OUTDATED AND HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED!
DO NOT USE THE "PUV" (Pinky UnderVolt) VERSION, IT WILL CAUSE YOUR DEVICE TO GET STUCK AT THE SPLASHSCREEN! (POSSIBLY)
I DID NOT MAKE THIS KERNEL, I'M JUST POSTING IT HERE FOR YOU ALL.
THIS IS NOT FOR ANY OTHER ROMS BESIDES CM7 (AND CM7-BASED ROMS) AND MIUI, SO DON'T ASK!
I'm using the UUV CFS version. It is very fast and smooth, I urge you not to have an OC past 1.3GHz as a daily driver, unless you want horrible battery life.
Any option below PUV is safe (UUV, -50mV, and -25mV all work, but every device varies).

lol, iffy kernal. especially with two versions available, its kinda strange testing them and seeing whats best for your phone. flashed the cfs version, and as expected, things seemed evenly smother throughout the phone, yet even at 1.99, there was nothing special or over the top about performance. also, i had a very strange, completely indescribable hiccup after booting.
EDIT
tried the bfs version, and still nothing special. maybe its just me and my miui rom. the 1.99 is cool, but i think im just gunna stay away from this.
Been running his kernels for a couple of weeks, no issues. It is nice to be able to choose from different undervolt versions. Helps battery life a little, around 5%-10% in my experience.
NikolaiT, just FYI this kernel works with Ultimate Droid, which is based on CM7. In case you want to update the OP.

Careful, the PUV version softbricked my device. Easily fixable through reflashing your ROM or just a new kernel.
It may not brick yours because some devices can handle it, some can't.

I've been using it for a while now. At the moment I'm using the latest CFS -25 UV version @ 1305 with the scaling set to Intelligent Donkey (lol) and I actually made it an entire day without charging. That's saying a lot for someone that gets about 12 hours max on a charge.

I'm currently pulling two days at 64% with the same kernel but my CPU settings are 122 min - 1075 max.
So what's everyone recommendations for the best version of this Kernel in terms of both optimum battery and performance?
Additionally... what kinds of CPU governors and max-min frequencies are you using? I've seen a few post what their using in this thread, but I'd like to get some more opinions.
I've been using this Kernel for a few weeks now with no issues. The UUV had some slight hesitation when scrolling so now I'm running 4.3 CFS with the -50 UV and it's absolutely perfect. Fantastic battery life running at 122/1305 MHz with the -50 UV.
i'm using 4.2 and I didn't flash any scripts... is the default -25UV? I'm gonna try 4.3 and -50 script later tonight.
quick question to the group: what is eating up your battery? mine, oddly enough is cell standby and phone idle. i'm using stock radio. in the past (on froyo builds), it's always been screen time.

Check these two posts: Post 1, Post 2. Looks like BFQ is the standard scheduler and VIO is quicker on paper (kind of like BFS vs CFS).
Thanks for the explanation. The bfqhs seems much smoother than the io. I am running it with the uuv.

[Q] Safe Overclock Speed?

Hello everybody I looked all over the Infuse Forums for a Safe OverClock Speed... but i couldnt find anything... so im sry if i missed it... Does anybody know of safe number? thanks in advanced!!

All CPU's are different. Some phones will have no problem running at 1.6ghz. Some will. It's a trial and error thing.
If you are worried, start conservative and work your way up.
would you say that overclocking your phone is worth it? i know that it can really improve the performance of the phone... but it greatly decreases the battery life... and vice versa u can lower it and increase bat life n lower performance. im looking at opinions also thanks for the reply!!

I personally have the Infusion kernel running on my phone, which allows me to OC my device, but I don't want to. I've come across no normal instance when I've found that I needed the extra power. I mainly wanted it so that I could undervolt (UV) which improves battery life.
Adding a custom ROM and also adding voodoo (most ROM's have voodoo) will increase the performance of your phone.
I'm running Infusion 2.0 on Infused 1.5.3 right now (waiting for GB HDMI capabilities...thanks AT&T) and I'm loving it.
sweet man thx for the reply!! ive been looking for a custom rom to install but just havnt found one that i like yet... i like Miui but they dont have one built for the Infuse yet... so im kinda waiting on that... but who knows when that will come out..

I like how miui looks too. I'm running launcher pro with a miui icon pack installed. Compromises...
oh well!
Oh and I think some people actually do have MIUI, not sure who, but I know it does exist in some unofficial form or another for the infuse.
ah cool!! i cant wait for miui!! what is launcher pro? if u dont mind me asking...

Launcher Pro is a homescreen alternative. You can change things up, add different transition effects.
For instance, my homescreen is attached.

Ditto same setup here and i consider myself super lucky but i can push the overclock up to 1.8 with voltage control play N64 emulator (starfox, mariokart) all day long and its perfectly stable with undervolt settings..

Mikey passed out 1-2 MIUI builds as a proof of concept on IRC a while back, but it took the existing problems with CM7 (MIUI is layered over CM7) and added new ones, so it's on hold until more of the issues with base CM7 get fixed.

There's no way you took your device to 1.8 - our devices can't go past 1.6 without overclocking the system bus, and the system bus does NOT like to overclock. The best anyone has done was around 1664 MHz and it was unstable as hell for a lot of people.
Some versions of Infusion reported operating at 1.8, but that's because bedwa made some mistakes in his PLL calculations - he thought those settings would run the CPU at 1.8 but they actually ran it at around 1.55
Way to burst my bubble.. I learned something new today thankyou

fastest anyone has reported to have gotten a hummingbird legitamately that i have seen was a kernel for the fascinate that had a really goofy timing stucture and had problems with other hardware. they reported the cpu running @ 1.7ghz with the gpu and bus at some really goofy speeds and fluctuated as the cpu scaled. it looked like a total mess.
Really the highest most people can go is 1.6 stable, which is what I'm running at.

I downloaded setcpu but I can't tell if my phone is being overclocked... I also installed infused on my phone...not sure if that would make
a difference

I use cfq/ on demand or conservitaive.
Undervolting is hit or Miss for each phone so hard to justify what's good just try and see
Overclock- I'm at 1600 with min at 100 and have to say no issues I love Oc.
.......infuse.....Infused....infusion.........
My max is 1664 and it locks up sometimes so i backed it down to 1456. Is there a quick guide to use voltage control

If your on froyo use the a kernel its more stable buddy. What exactly do you need to know?

Im running infused 1.6.0 w/ core B kernel. I read people adjusting certain areas to make it more stable and increase speed and battery...

Anyone using note 3 n900 (WELCOME)

I don't know if it's right to open this thread....
But I can't post anything in the development section.
I'm using this site for four years at least and can't ask any questions i have.
My question is to @halaszk88 who made the kernel of n900 (or anyone have answer)
I use his kernel since 5 month it's so amazing but why he didn't put all primary things that kernel must have (in my opinion) like:
-Touch to wake (like googy max kernel for s3)
-Pegasusq governor(handle the game very well)
-Accept UHS memory card like sandisk (the files and folders disappear randomly)
-Combine the kernel with other app like trickster mod (because it's have lovely options like: time of the device in deep sleep and you can change all the voltages of cpu in one click and other stuff like these )
I'm not a developer, but I can learn fast
if any one can help or explain I'm very appreciate
Thank you all for this great site
Anyone!!!!
or at least post my request to halaszk88 thread if it's ok
Still waiting
having the same problem as you bro lol... having been on here shorter than you i find it odd you have to have a minimum of 10 post before you can post in the dev side... i also have a n900 and want to ask some questions, so sign of relief that i saw your post lol... ive used halaszk kernal but have been very disappointed with it, cant find any settings that wont over heat and lock up my phone... being one of two kernals that can be OverClock and volt regulated kernal, i find the pekaka-Kernel much better as far as being able to OC without overheating... One thing i cant understand is why i cant get thru an antutu benchmark without halaszk kernal rebooting my phone... so ya got a score of 36620 (antutu) with the pekaka-Kernel OC to 2Ghz... but hope all goes well sir and hope this helps us both so we can start posting where the devs will actually see our questions.
You are absolutely right bro
my phone also get heat with this kernel.....
we must have to get in halaszk88 thread very soon
see you there in couple of days man
thank you for posting here
not a problem man... just seems that this cpu architecture isnt the greatest for overclocking and with the discussion of not getting the HMP implement im kinda about to give up on tweaking my phone... seems these devs cant make a stable enough kernal (roms seem fine) that can handle the OC and heat. but as far as the pekaka-Kernel i would suggest that one for now until halaszk can fix his issues with overheating...
here my setup
[ROM][SM-N900] alba19986's (Lite version) Added TW deleted Nova Launcher :good:
pekaka-Kernel:N900XXUDNA6-2.0|N900-v7.2|Permissive|OC-2.0G|UV
big core: OC 2.0G
LITTLE core: 550mhz
did not touch default volt settings (2Ghz '1262mV')

I'll try pekaka kernel soon with your settings and let you know what it's performance on my phone.
because i use stock rom
Thank you man
ya those settings seem to be ok... got bored and up my minimum cpu setting from 550mhz to 900mhz just to see if there was any performance increasse... seems to be faster but the Antutu benchtests still remain the same, around 34 to 36k... ive also tried to UV and OV and found out that OVing more than once or twice will freeze my phone cause it over heats it... once i get into the ACTUAL forms ill ask more questions to halaszk about volt settings cause it uses about the same as the peka kernal but overheats quicker... mayb ill just tinker with it some more and find a good setting... wish me luck xD
Hi
good luck forever bro
i tried pekaka-Kernel 2.1 version ( bbecause I'm on 4.4.2) it seems very good and my phone performance getting up.
It's missing many setting that halaszk88 have.
but the performance is amazing....
Thank you bro

yea the downfall of this kernal is that there are less settings to play with but it is a hell of alot more stable ( my opinion ) than halaszk.
feeling kinda of down tho cause even tho this is an awesome phone, i feel i should have went with the n9005 since there are more DEVs there than here. Im grateful for the DEVs we have but really dissapointed when it comes to Kernals that are out there. about only 2 good kernals possibly 3 (goodhanrry) but at max halaszk can only OC at 2.1ghz ( and it heats up ur CPU like a motherF***).
three more post and im in there... early congratz for only one more (post) for you man GL
I'll post in halasz88 thread soon....
but all thanks to you bro for let me post there
