How do you remove a program that "cannot be removed" - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Themes and Apps

I tried to install a different version of tomtom over an existing one and it did not remove the old program properly. It is still in the program list and when I try to remove it I get a message that it cannot be removed.
It means that I can't install any new TT at the moment and can't run the old one. Is there a way to find the leftover bits and get rid if them?

same difficulties here, but in my case is with the "dotcompt ZoomAdds v1.2" CAB.

Reinstall the software again
you will go through the same steps of installation BUT IN FACT IT IS REMOVING IT

Some soft may be difficult to remove.
In such case, the best is often to install the program again and try do disable it in the setting.
Then uninstall it again.
The best way to uninstall totally a soft is to use SK Tools.

Removing programs from the phone

The problem I'm having is that when I go to settings > system > remove programs, it only lists the first 11 programs that I've installed myself, so I cant see / remove newer programs since they are not listed there.
The programs (all cab files) were installed through usb via active sync.
Is there a tweak or a registry setting that can be used to keep that program list updated and show every program installed.
If not, how can I uninstall a program completely from within my phone itself ?
I'm trying to avoid uninstalls through active sync.
I wish I had an answer for you. I have been looking for an Installation Monitor, Registry Monitor, Filesystem Monitor tool for a long time now but I don't think there is one out there. What an Installation Monitor essentially would do is monitor any cab that you install and create a log of what that cab added/modified. That way, when you come to uninstall it you could perform a FULL uninstall and it would truely bring your device back to what it was before you installed the cab.
There are many of these types of tools for Windows XP/Vista but I haven't seen anything for WM6. Also there may be some limitations as these installation logs could be quite long. Regular Windows software such as "Advanced Uninstaller Pro" and they seem to do a good job.
I wish there was one for WM6 because everytime I install something and don't like it and remove it, it seems to leave hundreds of files lying around. I hate that...
The closest thing I have seen to an uninstaller program that goes beyond the standard Windows uninstaller is SKTools. It has an option to perform a "deep scan" for installed programs and it attempts to remove all files that that cab added and revert all registry keys back to their original state. I am still testing it out on Windows Mobile Emulator. It looks like if the original cab didn't create an installation log, WM doesn't know it got installed.
I just experienced this for the first time myself, although I have about 20 programs in my remove programs list. Opera 8.65 doesn't show up in the list of installed programs, even though it is there and still works. I was trying to uninstall it from main memory and try it on the storage card but I guess I'll have to hard reset to really get rid of it. Any other ideas?

Installing MyOffice software

I'm having a nightmare getting this software to work - I have got as far as installing the software and entering my registration details. I can get my account name up and a list of mine / my colleagues diaries, however none of the diary information will refresh.
I have tried to uninstall myoffice to try a fresh reinstall, but for some reason I cannot remove it completely. When I do this, I cannot find the myoffice software, but when I reinstall it there is not a prompt for registration details and I get exactly the same problem again - the list of my colleagues but nothing but blank diaries. When I refresh the diaries, it goes through the motions and says 'refresh complete', but there is no information in the diaries.
Anyway - my question is; how do I 'completely' remove this software so I can try a fresh install? Using the remove software function clearly isn't removing the previous registration details I entered. Any ideas?
Cheers!
James
Same as windows... search the registry and delete all related keys
An easier (and more useful in the future way): Get yourself a copy of MemMaid or SKTools. Re-install the app again and uninstall it via MM or SK.

Error when uninstalling WMWifiRouter

I’ve seen a few people here and at least one person over at PPCGeeks who have this issue, but no one has posted a way to resolve it.
Here’s the issue: I’m running the new stock 3.56 ROM on my Sprint Mogul. I installed WMWifiRouter 0.91, then removed it in favor of 0.80 (I read it had some advantages over 0.91). I believe I then uninstalled 0.80 to reinstall 0.91 and then decided to give WMWifiRouter the finger. I guess it knew I wanted to abandon it completely as it won’t let me uninstall it now. I get the following error:
“Jorrit Jongma WMWifiRouter was not completely removed. Do you want to remove it from the list of installed programs?”
I click “Yes,” but the program still stays on the list. If I try to reinstall it, it says the installation was unsuccessful.
I’ve tried the suggestions I’ve seen which include leaving the wifi switch on during the installation/uninstallation and simply deleting the folders, but nothing helps. Is there maybe a registry edit I can perform to just tear the program from my Mogul by force? I deleted all references I could find by doing a search with Resco Explorer, but still get the same error. How did such a clean little program become so messy? If it wasn’t so flakey I’d continue to use it.

why don't you post your request to the original WMWifiRouter thread instead?
cannot remove trial WMWifirouter from Sprint Mogul
I am having the same issue with removing trial verion 0.89 from my Sprint Mogul. If any one can help, I would appreciate it.
Do you have a file on the installed programs list named "Samsung 3_1_15"? If so, delete that and it should completely remove the program (that is something that gets downloaded with the router). That's what worked for me. If you don't, try downloading sktools to remove it, I've heard that works as well.
Good luck!

[Q] Remove apps that won't completely remove?

I have a few installed programs that I want to get completely off of my Vogue. When I go the the Remove Programs and remove them I get a notification that it wasn't completely removed and asks if I want to delete it from the list of installed programs. If I select Yes it will go away but come right back... I made sure they are not running and then using TotalCommander I searched and found/deleted all files I could find and also did the same in the registry with RegEdit. But all attempts to remove these apps fails, they will not go away! What to do next?? (Without doing a hard reset)
Try MemMaid -- http://www.dinarsoft.com/memmaid/
Try SK tools....its pretty effective. You can download a trial version and give it a go.

Program not removed completely

I tried to remove an application from the 'Remove Programs'. It first processed a bit and then said 'The Program is not removed completely, do you want to remove it from the Program list?'
Why is this error/message coming up?
How do I remove that program completely?
THanks
Try installing the program again, then uninstalling. Make sure the program is not running while you are trying to uninstall
also, a better way to uninstall apps is to use SKTools
