I'm having a nightmare getting this software to work - I have got as far as installing the software and entering my registration details. I can get my account name up and a list of mine / my colleagues diaries, however none of the diary information will refresh.
I have tried to uninstall myoffice to try a fresh reinstall, but for some reason I cannot remove it completely. When I do this, I cannot find the myoffice software, but when I reinstall it there is not a prompt for registration details and I get exactly the same problem again - the list of my colleagues but nothing but blank diaries. When I refresh the diaries, it goes through the motions and says 'refresh complete', but there is no information in the diaries.
Anyway - my question is; how do I 'completely' remove this software so I can try a fresh install? Using the remove software function clearly isn't removing the previous registration details I entered. Any ideas?
Cheers!
James
Same as windows... search the registry and delete all related keys
An easier (and more useful in the future way): Get yourself a copy of MemMaid or SKTools. Re-install the app again and uninstall it via MM or SK.

The problem I'm having is that when I go to settings > system > remove programs, it only lists the first 11 programs that I've installed myself, so I cant see / remove newer programs since they are not listed there.
The programs (all cab files) were installed through usb via active sync.
Is there a tweak or a registry setting that can be used to keep that program list updated and show every program installed.
If not, how can I uninstall a program completely from within my phone itself ?
I'm trying to avoid uninstalls through active sync.
I wish I had an answer for you. I have been looking for an Installation Monitor, Registry Monitor, Filesystem Monitor tool for a long time now but I don't think there is one out there. What an Installation Monitor essentially would do is monitor any cab that you install and create a log of what that cab added/modified. That way, when you come to uninstall it you could perform a FULL uninstall and it would truely bring your device back to what it was before you installed the cab.
There are many of these types of tools for Windows XP/Vista but I haven't seen anything for WM6. Also there may be some limitations as these installation logs could be quite long. Regular Windows software such as "Advanced Uninstaller Pro" and they seem to do a good job.
I wish there was one for WM6 because everytime I install something and don't like it and remove it, it seems to leave hundreds of files lying around. I hate that...
The closest thing I have seen to an uninstaller program that goes beyond the standard Windows uninstaller is SKTools. It has an option to perform a "deep scan" for installed programs and it attempts to remove all files that that cab added and revert all registry keys back to their original state. I am still testing it out on Windows Mobile Emulator. It looks like if the original cab didn't create an installation log, WM doesn't know it got installed.
I just experienced this for the first time myself, although I have about 20 programs in my remove programs list. Opera 8.65 doesn't show up in the list of installed programs, even though it is there and still works. I was trying to uninstall it from main memory and try it on the storage card but I guess I'll have to hard reset to really get rid of it. Any other ideas?
Whenever my phone wakes up from a sleep or I end a phone call, three error messages pop up saying that I'm missing three different files.
Yesterday, I installed some weather apps to try out, but I forgot to backup my regs. So when I uninstalled them, they must not have cleaned up too well and still try to run!
Three errors are:
Cannot execute \program files\Outerdepth\KPWeather\KPWeather.exe
Cannot execute \program files\nrg\chomeminiweather\weather.exe
Cannot execute \program files\nrg\chomeminiweather\monitor.exe
I searched the registry and found some registry entries in the Mort process key. Deleted those. Error still persists.
There is nothing in startup like these. No program files to look for because the folders aren't there.
I just want my phone to go back to normal. Preferably without hard reset.
Please help this fool. :'(
EDIT:
Forgot to say, I'm using a Samsung Omnia i910. Upgraded to compact.net framework 3.5, if that is relevant.
Perhaps this would be more appropriate in each packages
thread?

Done with it.
I just decided that it was better to hard reset the phone. The trouble and hours I spent on this weren't worth it, and I just wanted to get back to enjoying my phone.
Maybe these posts will get some sort of exposure and have the problem solved so the next person can find it.
I went the same route and hard reset the phone as well. Oh well!
try reinstalling them and then uninstalling them using SKTools
oh.. and then perform a cleanup using SKTools
still..
.. after using SKtools on a Polaris (uninstall, cleaning up, in normal and safe mode, you name it) I still get the same annoying message.
is there any solution to this?
thanx
alex.
That annoys me totaly. SKTools don't fix the problem. I only could fix it with a dummy exe file. But don't have tested it. It would be nice if the coder of
NRG Mini Chome Weather 1.2.1 + Monitor BJ Version.cab
Click to collapse
gives us more informations how to uninstall completly.
Never saw an app like that. No registry key, no startup files, but annoying error messages.
Hi Everyone,
I have recently installed the .cab version 1.2.4 of Smart Protect to my HTC Touch HD, however when I came to uninstall it, which I tried by entering the password "123456" to the programs built in uninstaller, this was unsucessful as it gave me an error message.
So I went to settings, system, remove programs and tried from there (it didn't ask for a password). This cleared the application from the programs menu, although now when I start the phone it gives me an error securityservice.exe cannot start... or something along those lines.
Basically I'm just asking for an uninstaller/instructions to manually uninstall, here is a list of some of the processes that I believe this program might be using: rapiclnt, SmsCommand.exe, NK.exe BTW I dont know for sure but I've never seen these processes running before so I suspect that the program has not completely uninstalled. Also there are still some reg keys (which I dont want to remove without someone with more experience has told me its safe to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, ControlPanel, Security, SSecure.
Thanks in advance,
Grant.
P.S. I've also posted on the devolopers tread but i haven't had a reply so i guess that the thread is dead.
\windows\startup
and delete the shortcut to it
Thanks for the advice Should I delete the reg key that I talked about in my first post? Because it stores all of the Smart Protect settings, e.g partner number, app password(encrypted), partner name ect...
Again thanks for the advice, it's much appreciated.
Grant.
I tried to install a different version of tomtom over an existing one and it did not remove the old program properly. It is still in the program list and when I try to remove it I get a message that it cannot be removed.
It means that I can't install any new TT at the moment and can't run the old one. Is there a way to find the leftover bits and get rid if them?
same difficulties here, but in my case is with the "dotcompt ZoomAdds v1.2" CAB.
Reinstall the software again
you will go through the same steps of installation BUT IN FACT IT IS REMOVING IT
Some soft may be difficult to remove.
In such case, the best is often to install the program again and try do disable it in the setting.
Then uninstall it again.
The best way to uninstall totally a soft is to use SK Tools.
Hi All,
Recently suffering a near Bricked unit--after rooting and messing about, I must share a procedure to both recover the believed brick, and both root and make a bit more of this mere reader unit.
Many thanks to those of You Who Have Served code, I salute You! Thanks!
Many thanks to those of You Who Have Implemented Served Code, intrepid explorers into tiny worlds unknown, or known less, save for the bitter pill of suffered faults and need to "do over," I salute You and the tales You've shared on fora I am unable to--yet--participate... and so, my tale, here...
Please read these procedures FIRST, then follow them.
IF, you must "do over":
A-While powering on the NST, hold both left and right lower page-advance buttons for 20 seconds. You might get a "Reset" screen, but what you are seeking is the "Recover" screen. If you originally had a f/w 1.0.0, or 1.0.1 purchased device, to proceed with this procedure, get the f/w 1.1.0 from B&N and follow instructions here.
IMPORTANT: Set up your B&N account with your Google Account email, and create associated Google accounts with this same email...
1. Create a google.com account, including email, maps, calendar and YouTube.
2. DO NOT Login to market.android.com before attempting connection with your Nook: the "device" must make first contact.
3. Create a B&N account at their website with your Google account email addr.
4. Yes, it seems overkill, but I first followed this touchnooter procedure
WAIT... do not set the default launcher to ADW, it will break the B&N apps!
Yes, after reboots, you must select the launcher every time, but a small price for keeping both the B&N and "Rooted Forever" experiences equally functioning!
BE SURE TO REFORMAT YOUR miniSD CARD before continuing.
5. Follow the SalsichaNooter procedure...
EXCEPTION: you DO NOT need login to YouTube because the previous data/config will not be wiped during this second rooting expedition.
AGAIN... do not set the default launcher, see above.
6. Go to opera.com with your computer and d/l the Opera Mini android apk, then transfer this to your NST. Install, and remove the "mobile" version.
7. With your computer's browser, visit market.andriod.com and find "searchmarket.apk"... when you select install, it will "find" your nook and install it... brill!
8. Reboot the NST.
9. Using SearchMarket, install CalendarPad (b/c you want a widget that can *use* your Google Calendar--I installed the Pro version b/c I had thought it would help... not really needed. Install Synker. Run the Market app (which will show nothing in apps, until you run Synker), then select "Downloads"... you will see an "Updates" tab; select this and it will update ES File Manager with a functional root access...
So, now I have an NST with email, web, calendar (Maps is interesting, but not that useful, yet) and no issues with B&N Shop, nor connecting to WiFi spots... and all Calendar events and tasks sync both up and down...
...BECAUSE I did not select a default launcher, set up all Google services before rooting, and installed Synker *after* all other apps, so accounts would be pre-established.
Final note: I previously attempted an ADB connection over USB, and (I think now, mistakenly) ran `adb usb' which foobard my WiFi... fyi, I suspect the state is preserved, even over reboots.
hth, Be Good,
