It seems that sometimes when I slide my Fuze back in, it'll turn off the phone and I'll need to turn it back on.
I've had the phone for under a year and to that end it's still got the AT&T warranty on it, but since I bought a Tilt 2 a week ago I'm not sure if AT&T will still accept it.
Does anyone know if they will? It'd be nice to keep the Fuze as a backup phone and I don't want it to magically get worse right as I'm out of the warranty period.
Thanks in advance!
thats wierd? they should take it back since it's under a year old. But as soon as you bought the tilt2 the insurance was transferred to it.

I don't have insurance, just a straight warranty, and I haven't called them yet so I'm not sure if it's just me being stupid or if they'd actually shoot me down.
I don't think AT&T's call center is open on Saturday which is why I haven't called them yet.

im pretty sure its open on saturdays, but thats one weird thing, sliding it back turns off the phone? thats really weird haha
I've had the same problem with two previous devices, and It's really annoying. Certain times I can slide it in and out all day long and it's fine. But when ever I'm using it for something important, like navigation it turns off when I slide out, or slide it closed.
yes if its still under warranty they will fix it

My space bar is no longer functioning properly, and I'm out of my warranty period on my Fuze through AT&T. It will sometimes register one hit of my spacebar as two, three, or sometimes even four spaces; other times, it wont register a button press at all.
I searched and came up with some similar problems, but the only solutions I saw were to take off the key. I just had a simple question for that...if you take off the key, will the entire keyboard come off with it? And if not, what's the proper way to remove the key, and what should I do once I have it off?
the fuze hasnt been out for a year yet. its still under warranty. go get it replaced.
Should I just take it to an AT&T store?
you need to find a att service center. if you call att they should be able to tell you where one is.
call att handset assistance info line at 1-800-801-1101 at the que enter your phone number press 3 for phone functioning improperly and wait for a operator. Alert them of the problem they will send out a handset you send ur broken one back providing it isnt water damaged or physically damaged you wont be charged. heres a few hints incase you dont know your water indicator sticker (usually located under and on the battery)should be white or on some phones have red or purple x's. they will ask you the color of you battery contacts they should be gold not corroded or green. they will ask you if the phone has been dropped which should be a no as well. all of these questions will determine whether or not you get a warranty of your handset from at&t or you are told by at&t to send it to the manufacturer(hope to get it back in 4-6 weeks) also if he bought a refurb warranty is only 90 days i believe but i havent seen refurb fuzes so otherwise unless he got one of the first days he should be under warranty.

I have exactly the same problem. Sounds like it is a weakness of this model...
I called AT&T and was on the phone for an hour. Apparently they sold me a refurbished product without ever telling me that I was paying for one, and they won't be covering a warranty on it. Outside of that, I'm definitely not paying $125 more to have the phone replaced, so I'm kind of stuck right now. I've had a lot of problems with the Fuze with dropped calls and other things, now my keyboard is going bad, it only makes matters worse.
Think it would be advised to give HTC a call?
Things get stranger...I called HTC and they said my phone was never refurbished through them and that it shouldn't be classified as refurbished. But, they are honoring my warranty through February of next year. So, I will be getting it fixed, I just have to pay for shipping and figure out what I'm going to do for a phone for two weeks.
I'm having the exact same issue with my backspace key I installed energy rom, so idk if its rom specific
Not good.
EDIT:
I flashed my old stock rom back on, and funny enough the issue is gone, its not apparent on wm6.1, so its either a 6.5 issue, or a rom kitchen issue.
I tried 2 6.5 roms Energy rom an TAIG rom, both have awfull keyboard issues, where if i pressed shift twice itll make a £ symbol.
Try using Kfortouchpro and see if that hides some issues.
Att's refurbished HTC phones are crap!
They sent me a refurb Kaiser once and the keyboard seemed to be pushed down so it wouldnt click everytime you typed! IT was so annoying!
Your best bet is to call HTC directly and explain the situation to them.

Hold up, I'm using Energy Rom 2009605 from NRGZ28. It was a very early version of 6.5 IIRC. I think I'm just going to flash to the updated ROM from HTC, and if it happens on that, I'll know for sure it is a hardware issue and I'll send it into HTC.
LOL OK depressed seemded like a good word at the time. But really it seems further
in or lower especially with ny case on, same goes for the lower volume button. I guess from reboots. Would you try and get it replaced or just take the chance that it will continue to work?

They will replace it for you, just tell them that one of the buttons is no longer working. It's a warranty replacement, I had to get mine replaced because the vol- button wasn't even a button anymore and had to be jammed in to be "pressed".
I use the silicone case, so I don't have a problem with the button...

It really seems to be hit or miss. My first thunderbolt's buttons sucked. This one is great. I dropped mine in the **** bowl... :-(
Just replaced mine today for the same reason. It was that way out of the box. I checked everything on this one to make sure it was up to par before I walked out of the store this time. Every phone has its quirks, any one who says otherwise is jaded..
I kinda feel like an idiot for being so picky but I do have the warranty. I called on the phone and they said I had to go into the store. Guess it cant hurt to try atleast its under warranty until feb. of next year.
Mine is also "depressed" lol when they replaced it, did they give you a CLNR or a brand New tbolt?

Seriously?? I'm unrooting right now to send mine back. It takes all of 10 minutes. No slower than flashing ROMs.
It's a hardware defect 99.9% of the time. You're foolish to not take advantage of warranty replacement while you have it. Come on, man!!

If they'll do it in the store, sure, I'll get around to it. Sometime before April.

Call them up and tell them that it only works if you press it in with a pen, or if you basically use all your strength just to get it to register as a "push". You shouldn't have to do anything extra just to get your phone to turn on. They tell you to go to the store because they were some lazy ass rep who didn't want to do anything. Just call back, politely explain that it's almost impossible to turn your phone on because of the power button situation (throw in some good acting skills too), and that you would like a replacement as the phone is still under warranty. If they say no, ask to speak to a supervisor, explain again, and they will replace it for you.
Ok new phone on its way. He also said a new software update was coming today(lol). They are really limiting the time you used to have for returning the phone. Used to be 15 days I think and now down to 5 days.
They dont use fed ex they used usps hmm never seen that. Well the one I got was just as bad as the one I sent it so they are sending another one. I used to be able to use my case with it but these refurbs suck.
Ok, so my MT4GS has stopped being able to vibrate. I can hear the motor trying to turn and if I give it a good smack it will work... Kinda when it does work it sounds like it's dying. I just want to know if there is anything I can do and if I can get it fixed or something. I have heard of people getting them fixed and such, but how does that work especially since I'm not the original owner? I know with Virgin Mobile they will just send you a replacement phone and you send the defective one. Any help is appreciated.
Vibrate motor dead
had the same problem. Sent it back to HTC for repair and got it back 8 days later. Would have been a warranty repair but since I foolishly did not revert to stock I had to pay $180. They had to replace the whole mainboard.
Ok, so even though I'm not the original owner is it still covered under warranty? Does anyone know?

I dont think it would matter becuase your not the orginal owner so you dont have warrenty LOL
So basically I'm screwed? Ughh... :/ I guess it's not that big of a deal, just no haptic feedback is annoying...
I feel you i dont use haptic feed back i have it turned off i hate the vibration feel
Vibrate motor
It should not matter if you are the original owner. Give them a call. All they asked for was the serial number presumably to check when the phone was made. If you do end up sending it back, make sure it is reset back to factory if you have rooted it.

Ok... I'll probably end up doing that some time... How long does it take usually?
I shipped it from the post office Wednesday afternoon and had it back Friday of the following week. About 9 days.
i put my htc one x to charge and it didnt want to so i checked the charger and it turned off then it got scorching hot and started to vibrate on its own I opened it too see if i could remove battery but battery is difficult to remove so it finally stup vibrating but I am to scared to try to turn it on I left it by the fan so it would cool down. I have no warranty I bought it on the street it was working excellently I have the box and everything. What should I do?
Edit: My cellphone is dead doesnt charge or turn on. Computer doesnt recognize it I just lost $400.00. What should I do I am not the original owner so I cant go to at&t What are my options?
Uh...your first mistake was "opening" the phone. Our phones are not meant to be cracked open...
Maybe something shorted out and caused your battery to overheat like crazy
In my opinion, it sounds like you're out of luck, but wait until other people respond to see what they say.
this phone is relatively easy to open and there are no seal except on the inside screws
I am desperate dont know what to do i have a 400 dollar paper wieght
Device has a 1 year warranty. Are you on at&T? If so call them. They will replace it. If not call htc.
I bought it on craiglist used like for a 2 weeks used and i dont have reciept what should I do Help me i know there are other people whod have had this problem before. i think htc will ask me for receipt
Nobody cares where you bought it. The warranty covers the device. I'll say it again. If you are on at&t call them. They handle warranty claims for you period.
i use this phone on simple mobile prepaid i never have had at&t
In that case call htc. You still have a warranty.
I read the instruction in the box and it says the warranty is for first owner only

You can still try. A 10 minute phone call is worth not losing $400, right? Don't mention that you're not the first owner unless they actually ask.
will try
post any update from phone call
called htc and told them about the heating problem and that cellphone wont charge or turn on they told it was in warranty and that I just had to send it to them

Ta-da!
You got away with one.
Lesson learned: Buying things off the backs of trucks is risky.
Next lesson: Punctuation. ;-)
Sell it on craiglist to cover your loss

So does anybody have this problem on verizon?
I changed 2 phones with Asurion and both have this problem.
Is it software or hardware issue?
I don't know what to do
I have the edge from Verizon. I do not use the fast charger. This may not be relevant to the issue at all. But I usually charge my phone every night while turned off using a standard slow charger. When I first unplug the charger I can see the faint glow of the camera LED. Bye the time I'm finished getting ready in the morning the glow is gone. So sometime within a half an hour it stops on mine. After it goes out I cannot see it at all until I recharge it again. Not sure if there's a fix for it or not.

Well you also don't want one where the flash is always on. You will have to keep trading it til you get one that works. Who cares if it's a refurb. A refurb will probably be free of these kind of bugs anyways. You could also use the samsung warranty and send it in to them to fix. But that is what a refurb is anyways. A fixed unit. Not sure why you are so turned off by the idea of a refurbished unit. I could understand if it looked like it's been in someone's pocket for 2 years but if what you get is indistinguishable between a new and a refurbished one than who cares. As long as it functions the way you expect it to.
Ok, they told me that they will send new one. I just hope so that that one will not have problem. Because it will be third phone from asurion I am getting and there is no way to call them one more time. I am feeling bad about that, it's Samsungs mistake not theirs.

Just in case :*I encountered the same problem on my device (French provider Orange Galaxy S6). Yesterday I flashed the most recent Samsung stock ROM*I could find (G920FXXU1AOD9 ), and things seems to be better now. After I use the flash, it now turns off, although quite slowly (it gets dimmer and dimmer until it is completely off). I would not say it is fixed, but it is a lot better than before, when it would stays lightly lit during at least several hours...
Finally the problem is back after a factory reset. Third replacement needed. Just great.
I have the same issue. I noticed it at 5AM a few mornings ago. I woke up and it was still dark in my room so I clearly saw that it was dimly lit. Very upset about this issue. Why is it an Asurion issue if it's a warranty issue, shouldn't Verizon just send a "new" s6 to you? Ideally, I'd like to trade it in for the same one, but in gold, which is what I wanted to begin with.
