It will be the Tilt 2 aka Rhodium. Just like the the Tilt is aka Kaiser.
So, when I search for custom "Tilt 2" roms, I will search for "Rodium" and just filter out the ones specific to the Tilt 2?

You currently own what is the Sprint version of AT&T's Tilt 2, correct?
Why do you say piece of crap? Joke or serious? If serious, why, as I am looking to purchase one from AT&T and would like to know your complaints! Thanks

I own the unlocked Euro version. and i was half joking about the ATT version cause of what they changed on it, namly the keyboard and now they arnt putting the new 3.5mm headphone jack on it. I guess if your use to ATT and their keyboard layout it wont be a big deal, but i wanted my numbers on the top row like a normal keyboard.
Im also looking into getting a rom (from here) to put on it cause it runs, alittle slower than i think it should with stock software. Cant imagine all the crap ATT will put on their version.

Well I don't know whether to be happy or said :S and i hope the X1 wont outperform it.
I can only assume, AT&T will need to have their own "uniquely named" device and not the vanilla Touch Pro the rest of the world will enjoy. This in itself will add 6 months to any official release date of the Raphael in North America. I hope I'm wrong.
I will snoop around on my side and report anything to this thread with any positive news.
Lol, I would say they're that bad , however i can imagine them releasing it sometimes in Q4 (October-ish?) or early Q1 of next year.
I thought CDMA version is coming out first for Verizon. or was it for Sprint... I read it somewhere in Engadget or BGR.
this will be called tilt II for at&t. this is a rumor i heard from a friend from at&t wireless side.
Why does the US seem to get this stuff last? I blame it on the carrier cartel that refuses to adopt the mobile phone industry models the rest of the world has.
If the only experience with HTC i had was my wizard, I'd be all over the Raphael. I paid 588USD for the tilt (off-contract) and get the shaft from them. Now, I'm up for a phone upgrade, and I'd really, really like to get my hands on this device, but I don't know if I trust them anymore.
Still LOOKS kickass, though.

Isn't the Raphael/ Touch Pro missing the GSM 850 freq? I thought AT&T uses GSM 850/1900.
Seems like it's made to be a T-mo device. (GSM 900/1800)

That hos nothing to do with it. Verizon, Tmobile, and all the US carriers can pick up the phone. Whether another carrier decides to pick it up or not doesn't mean that ATT wont.

By your analysis that means the T-Mobile in the USA would have the MDA Vario III which they don't.

I would be VERY surprised if the Raph couldnt be sorted out like this, remember the Hermes didnt have necessary bands for telstra in AU which was eventually sorted with a hack to allow the necessary frequency to be used.
Details details people, if AT&T were going to use it i imagine the bands situation would be trivial, im sure they are going to carry it.

Why would they call it a "Tilt"? The Touch Pro's screen doesn't tilt like the Kaiser does it?

You and I can hope but I'm 98% sure you're right. Trends point to AT&T releasing this sometime next year, as to not disturb the X1 and without the front facing cam. Right now it seems like Sprint is going to get this first as they're getting the Diamond sometime in September.
OK well lets just say in a matter of days we shall see if AT&T WILL be carrying the Raphael..............or not.

Without a doubt the Verizon version is the most crippled. They cut the RAM to 192, CPU is slower and took out the accelerometer. Plus it costs more.
where is everyone getting this "verizon took out the accelerometer" crap?

One of the main stream gadget blogs posts about it, but I looked on HTC's site regarding the Verizon version and looks like that part is still intact. Everything else though still stands.

Uhhh, you are atempting to directly compare the 'crippleness' of an AT&T or "unlocked" GMS phone to CDMA models?
For starters, you'd best declare that you are aware that CDMA devices are absolutely LOCKED to their branded carrier --- unless a third-party carrier is willing to accept another's device. Unless one is content with their carrier that may certainly be crippling status of a phone.

Hi Keystone,
Of course I know the differences of GSM and CDMA technologies.
What I'm attempting is to compare features added or removed from the the original HTC. LIke I'm aware AT&T changed the keyboard layout.
Do you know what other features have been modified by those carriers?

I believe the CPU still the same. I read somewhere a guy posted wrongly that it was a 400mhz. As far as specs, it is still the MSM201A 528MHZ.
I haven't seen the Sprint one, but apparently is the more intact of all.
I had in my hands the Fuze in an AT&T store, the Keyboard has a numbers pad ovelaying the alpha keys. But I verified it has accelerometer but slow or unresponsive
I think actual verizon, sprint and AT&T owners can tell what changes were made to their devices.
If I ever decide to go for one of those I don't want surprises.
Is the one coming out on Verizon include all those people and the dude with a clip board following you around, or did they remove that too?

Ahh right, sorry...just on this forum some are very confused when concerning CDMA.
The Telus & Bell releases are spot-on the same as the internal hardware of the Sprint model. The exterior just isn't the red -- flat black smooth battery covers instead.
I am thinking of ordering AT&T unlocked version of htc touch pro. I am little confused. There are so many version of htc touch pro? I am looking for cheapest version and I think it's unlocked HTC fuze. Now, is there a way to remove all those AT&T shortcuts and get a normal(original) HTC touch pro phone?
The ATT version has a slightly different keyboard on it to the other varients (numbers along the top are removed and are accessed by a FN key - replaced by symbols)
I'm looking at doing a similar thing to get a Touch Pro, ATT seems the cheapest way of getting one but from memory it's about $50 more with other carriers that use the normal keyboard.
Yes, that is the case with keyboard but I don't mind really. I've found that I can latter install other rom and get original HTC touch pro, something like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444784
@hidden_hunter, is there any other version that will work with GSM providers worldwide and has original HTC touch pro keyboard?
You will want to get the HTC Touch Pro T7272 (European Version) over the AT&T Fuze because there is a descrepency inbetween the US (Fuze) 3G Bands and the European (Touch Pro T7272) 3G Bands.
I am thinking about selling mt Touch Pro as mentioned in these thread replies: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=466685
If you're in Australia I think ATT's 3G bands are the same as Telstra's so it should work no issues, others might know more (I'm with Virgin mobile who since being totally bought out by optus seem to be becoming worse and worse value) So you would need to check if the frequencies are compatabile (make sure you don't buy a CDMA version for instance)
I live in Bosnia. Would Fuze work here?
Check your PM. I sent you details.
Hey there
a friend's dad is in Alabama... and I was wondering if anyone knows where he would be able to buy a Touch HD and a Touch Pro WITHOUT a plan.. i just want the devices.
I went to the HTC website and all shops are service provider shops.. it's really urgent as he's staying there for only 2 more days... and i don't know how this works in the US.. with the plans and all
thanks in advance
Hd isn't sold in the US, You can by a touch Pro outright though from a service Provider.
EDIT: Are you looking for the gsm version or cdma?
GSM.. for israel.
the HD isn't sold in the US AT ALL? or only in AT&T.. T-Mobile.. and so forth

Nope we didn't get the HD at all, not a single service provider has one. You can get a Touch Pro from AT&T by paying $500 to buy it without a contract, but you'd have to unlock it.

Yup your right, AT&T is currently the only GSM carrier in the U.S. that does offer the TP and like you stated above, all the others are CDMA.
You might want to check it out though, The AT$T Touch Pro is the Fuze. I think AT$T had HTC do some subtle changes to the TP to make it a Fuze. Ask NATF, he has a Fuze.
wait, what about a diamond with an SD card?

Diamond with SD (400Mhz processor, but who cares)
I am stuck using AT$T as my provider currently. I want another android phone. I have a Moto Droid for work and love it.
Since the backflip is a POS, what other phones can be brought over to AT&T and work with 3G? I saw the progress on the iPhone, but would really rather a physical keyboard.
Thanks
AT&T only has 2 android phones available. The Dell Aero and the Moto Backflip. The Backflip being the one with a hard keyboard. They have HTC listed on their android page, but who knows when/if that will happen. I think I remember reading that they made Bing the default search provider for the Backflip. I don't know AT&T's policy on bringing unlocked phones onto their network, but you could get the international version of the Hero or something similar. I just rooted my Sprint Hero with the Fresh 2.0d ROM and it is like having a new phone. Once all the Sprint bloatware was removed it runs twice as fast. Unfortunately, none of the unlocked android phones support AT&T 3G, so you will be stuck on 2G. For a hard keyboard, your only option is an unlocked Motorola Milestone(newegg is out of stock).
www.google.com/phone
Or get a Rogers Dream or Motorola Milestone from eBay if you want a physical keyboard and 3G on AT&T. Then it's just a matter of unlocking and rooting.
Of course, you need to be careful with Rogers. They have "patched" their Dream in such a way as to require a JTAG to root.

I am pretty sure the Milestone does not support AT&T 3G, only T-Mobile. The unlocked Nexus will support AT&T 3G, except for the minor hardware design problem where if you hold the phone the right way you can block the 3G radio. (See youtube, search "Nexus One 3G Problem")
