You can't change it.
If the IMEI is locked, then the phone is most likely stolen.

I know it is stolen... Need to make it work...

If you don't know how there is a reason for that. I.e you dont need to know how.
Yes you are able to do by i.e physically changing your imei, then there are other ways to manipulate the imei.
This is a clean forum, but on the same note I thought this was a forum, for educating and learning from others.

I completely agree with you, but then again he might have bought the phone and then found it was stolen.
But I completely despise thiefs also. After all justbecause you have got off your backside and worked hard to have nice things. Some prat sees that as his incentive to steal of you. Wrong... get a job, go get educated anything that is an honest days work is a job. No matter what you do.

Well I did not steel this pda , but I can buy it very cheap and use it . If the person is not carefull enough to keep their stuff safe it is his problem... Some times thiefs steel stuff from me some times from others, it is life cycle... I do not have moral principles against it... Some how it is moral to unlock phone from operator(sim-lock removal is contract breach ie stealing) but not if it is banned. Guys who unlocked their phones please give them back or pay the operator 200 pounds for unlock.

Let me assure the people in this forum that such geeks are not widely present in our country.
Just for your information, Oleg the Freak, sim unlocking and theft are not the same. F. i., I was attacked by a robber because of my PDA and the phone. Unfortunately, the robber was not cought, but my phone got back to me! and the person whom bought it from criminals had problems. :twisted: I strongly recommend you to think about buying stolen things again as you may get in trouble too.

Actually smarty pants, you need to read the wording of your contract. Mine simply says that I will use the equitmeant supplied by the air time provider with there sim card. However the kit belongs to me as long as I stay within my contractual obligations. I.e keep paying my bill.
Secondly all my handsets are unlocked by my provider or purchased sim free. So my dear fellow if you ever get mugged or robbed at gun point. It is your fault for not looking after your belongings. If you ever do mugged, I would actually laugh at you. You are rather a sad individual with no respect for others and their material belongings.

Ok guys lets stop this disscussion. Morals, well I wont go by on the street if some one is being robbed, but 95% of our population will but if something has already happened sorry... Moral principles are something everyone decides for himself... Just af far as he is willing to go... I feel very sorry for the person that it was stolen from, as I already said things get stolen from me too, sometimes... But in this case I will not call the police, neither will I keep the phone. Police is corrupt -- the person is unlikely to get the phone back, probably he will not even know it is there. Wont keep it because I do not need a PDA w/o phone -- simple.

This is some bad news (for me atleast)

About 20 minutes ago i was using my PC for testing some new stuff out for the rom(s). Suddenly there was a horrible noise, inbetween a POP and a BANG. My PC died, now when i turn it on i get NOTHING. the fans spin up but that is all.
Without my computer i cannot continue development (or my A-levels). i am working on getting what i had off my hard drives atm. i might be able to post an updated one of the old build soon....
in the meanwhile im gonna be working 24/7 to afford to fix my pc (i have about £5 to my name atm...)
if anyone feels like giving me a hand (Any amount will help) it would be most appreciated, ill think of a way to repay you if i can, perpahps something like more input into what i put in the roms/preview releases/your own personal custom cooked rom, let me know if you donate

If you can manage to do a 1 - for - 1 swap of some of the components in your PC and track down what has blown please post what went pop as I'm sure I'll not be the only one happy to raid the spares bin if a replacement part just happens to be knocking around.
PSU would be a likely first candfidate to check for failure.

Just FYI, the rom i used was a clean wm6 source from ltcmdrivan, who, uknown to me merged some of the changes helmi made into it before he sent it to me, causing helmi to think it was his work. we sorted this out ages ago so i dont know why you are bringing it up now?

tyl, Midget is my friend from stone age till now, we just hv some misscommunication about it in the past, so please dont bring it up, its nothing, and it old news, friend share work, idea, but sometimes it get mix up... and I believe Midget never tense to do it on purpose...

Well my PC is playing silly buggers, and I have had to underclock it until I can get the new parts on Saturday.
I will have some bits spare, but they won't be reliable.
I do however have an Athlon 1400 system you can have, but it's a big old beast, so being able to collect it would be best. Where in the UK are you?

Hopefully that should ressurect it, but thanks anyway.

About 2 month ago,I had got very angry and I kicked my computer heavily. So I had to buy a new motherboard the next day because it was broken. You can buy a new motherboard just like what I did.It's not a big money.

Keep us updated, hope you're back up and running soon. After all you ROM builders and WinMo gurus have done to help so many I hope you find many paypal deposits. The fact that someone would mock you for asking for help is pretty sad.

Right now im waiting for dudes1.0 but i have jf1.50 and gloss theme they like what i have and im thinking of charging them money for me to install what i have...so the question is if it is ok if i charge people to install your work on their phone?

Here's my opinion (that's just me, you still have to consult all the dev)
Point your friends to this site and give them reasonable explanation how to use info here. If they are up for the chanllenge-great, let them do it. If not- then you can do it but you should consider that
1. You will be liable if you brick one's phone
2. You will become 24/7 tech. support/firmware update/"can you do....(insert your own request here)...for me"/my toaster broke, and since you're good with this kind of things..../whatever else guy
3. If, for any reason, they need to return the phone to T-mo you will be responcible for bringing it back to factory state.
4. It would be only fair that you split any moneys that you receive with those who contributed to firmware/theme/mods.
With that said.... I would do it for free for my friends in exchange of not beeing that support guy. I mean I'd help them and everything but I don't need calls in the middle of the night. Still, eventhough I would do it for free, I would require that my friends donate at least few bucks to whoever's work I would be using.

In my experience even if you don't charge to root and what-not you will still become 24/7 tech support for them. I am the tech guy in my group of friends and I never charged a dime(unless I had to go buy hardware). Root their phones, send them here, make them read, also try explaining a few things and let them know where the friggin' search function is and they'll be fine, but if they decide to call you in the middle of the night needeing help, subtly hint that you're broke and could use some cash for beer

Hey guys so the little story about me is that I am a truck driver I hate this job but that is the only thing that I was taught to do in this life so I need to do it in order to help my family live a better life than I do so the government is forcing us 2 install electronic logging devices on our tablets. Monitor our location how much we've been driving when did we stop to take a **** or piss you know this coming to the point where this is unacceptable using technology against the humans you know I wish I live back in the old times when actually America was the name for freedom now the government is spying on you through your phone forcing truckers to use this damn app or Eld to not be able to do anything you know guys I drive for the whole month in order to make little bit of money to support my family and I'm not playing to comply with this you know this ELD program that they're forcing upon us is going to cause big problems to the market imagine this you come to the Walmart or whatever store you go to the shop you go to buy carrots or potatoes or whatever and it's not there you come to the person that works there and you ask him what's going on and they're going to tell you do to the electronic devices that drivers have to listen to this pruduct is goint to be delayed. You know guys Truckers are the only way you guys get food drinks and anything and imagine this to there's a hurricane or something bad happens and people buy everything food everything is sold out you know who's going to have to bring that to you guys we the truck drivers but we're not going to bring it on time because our time is been limited by the government so you going to have to wait a week or so before we be able to come and bring you any food or anything this is not fair the government is putting their nose and to too many things and trying to control too many things so by helping me out of this app that allows me to drive the way I want to drive the way I can drive normally without having government tell me hey you can only drive for a few more hours you know guys it's like the government would govern the way use your cell phone hey you can only use your cell phone for like 5 hours because you're tired or you need some kind of permission to go and watch TV or do this this is crazy this is outrageous I don't believe in this and I hope you guys understand cuz my heart hurts and so does everybody else you're not only helping me you're helping a lot of people because I'm going to share this with everybody that feels the same thank you for your time

well, this is it!

So after days and days of countless efforts and frustrations i have decided to give up on a rooted rom that i have been trying to work on. I've had some help, not much, but some at least. I've spent too many days in front of a computer awaiting responses for guidance that i have never received. I was in high hopes to have a rom for the s8+ community done by Tuesday of the new year. But,unfortunately, I wont be finishing it. I've tried many things to repack the files i've extracted from the system.img and it wont boot properly and hangs at PARTITIONING in Odin. I am sorry to the community for trying and not succeeding. I have little time left in the free world before i'm off to jail. And i refuse to spend it sitting at my computer all day all night waiting for responses from XDA members that will not reply to the questions i am asking. I know everyone knows me on here as an asshole and if i may i'd like to explain. I have been a member since 2013, i'm pretty sure from before that under a different username, and i have seen many changes in this community from then till now. XDA was the only place i knew where to go to find answers without being harassed or ridiculed. XDA was the place where people would provide useful information if you were new to the tech world or old with the tech world. You could ask anything and people wouldn't make the remarks they make now and they weren't even involved to begin with. Nowadays, you ask one thing and the certain few jack asses like to start ganging up on people with remarks that are irrelevant to what the person is saying. The best part about that is, the ones who involve themselves are the first to cry to the moderators and PM you with hilarious messages. I don't know about you guys, but, i was here to learn things that i could do on my spare tme besides hacking haha. But, what i'm saying is this community has not been what it was and i no longer want to be a part of it,because, i have little time left with my family and id rather spend it with them then getting nothing done.
Just so any readers reading this is advised, this is not a blame game or a cry-baby issue, this is my sign out from these forums. I have had the best experiences here and i've had the worst. I've acted out of frustrations, it gets tiring waiting for help. Example: if you are on a life raft in the middle of the ocean, a helicopter hovers over you, you can see the pilot, co-pilot,and one person for the task of the rescue mission. They drop the rope only to pull it back up and tell you they'll be right back for you. And guess what? They never came back!
Thats what it feels like here now.
So for whatever its worth i thank you all who have truly been there to help and learn from the guys who've been here a while that aren't trying to win a popularity contest. To all you know-it-alls here on these forums, stop being the first to cry to the MODERATORS, you can't handle it, don't involve yourselves. Stop being a thug behind a screen and keyboard.
