paying for service/help Truck driver in need of help - General Topics

Hey guys am willing to pay anyone who can edit this app and change in the app so that I can manually change and edit driving time even though I am connected to the ELD device if interested please give me a call at 503 676 4323
App Name: KeepTruckin for Android
My story
Hey guys so the little story about me is that I am a truck driver I hate this job but that is the only thing that I was taught to do in this life so I need to do it in order to help my family live a better life than I do so the government is forcing us 2 install electronic logging devices on our tablets. Monitor our location how much we've been driving when did we stop to take a **** or piss you know this coming to the point where this is unacceptable using technology against the humans you know I wish I live back in the old times when actually America was the name for freedom now the government is spying on you through your phone forcing truckers to use this damn app or Eld to not be able to do anything you know guys I drive for the whole month in order to make little bit of money to support my family and I'm not playing to comply with this you know this ELD program that they're forcing upon us is going to cause big problems to the market imagine this you come to the Walmart or whatever store you go to the shop you go to buy carrots or potatoes or whatever and it's not there you come to the person that works there and you ask him what's going on and they're going to tell you do to the electronic devices that drivers have to listen to this pruduct is goint to be delayed. You know guys Truckers are the only way you guys get food drinks and anything and imagine this to there's a hurricane or something bad happens and people buy everything food everything is sold out you know who's going to have to bring that to you guys we the truck drivers but we're not going to bring it on time because our time is been limited by the government so you going to have to wait a week or so before we be able to come and bring you any food or anything this is not fair the government is putting their nose and to too many things and trying to control too many things so by helping me out of this app that allows me to drive the way I want to drive the way I can drive normally without having government tell me hey you can only drive for a few more hours you know guys it's like the government would govern the way use your cell phone hey you can only use your cell phone for like 5 hours because you're tired or you need some kind of permission to go and watch TV or do this this is crazy this is outrageous I don't believe in this and I hope you guys understand cuz my heart hurts and so does everybody else you're not only helping me you're helping a lot of people because I'm going to share this with everybody that feels the same thank you for your time

Sorry, but i have to close this thread.

Don't post copyrighted materials or do other things which will obviously lead to legal trouble. If you wouldn't do it on your own homepage, you probably shouldn't do it here either. This does not mean that we agree with everything that the software piracy lobby try to impose on us. It simply means that you cannot break any laws here, since we'll end up dealing with the legal hassle caused by you. OK i have friends that want a pimp out phone like mines. Right now im waiting for dudes1.0 but i have jf1.50 and gloss theme they like what i have and im thinking of charging them money for me to install what i have...so the question is if it is ok if i charge people to install your work on their phone?
Thank You
You guys are right probably I don't want to do this also my friends are lazy and not that good with computer come on I had to even explain to them what 3gp means. Anyways they know about this site so they could do it by themselves. Thanks for the opinions everyone. NO MORE 24/7
Wow... I can see this going so many ways
Here's my opinion (that's just me, you still have to consult all the dev)
Point your friends to this site and give them reasonable explanation how to use info here. If they are up for the chanllenge-great, let them do it. If not- then you can do it but you should consider that
1. You will be liable if you brick one's phone
2. You will become 24/7 tech. support/firmware update/"can you do....(insert your own request here)...for me"/my toaster broke, and since you're good with this kind of things..../whatever else guy
3. If, for any reason, they need to return the phone to T-mo you will be responcible for bringing it back to factory state.
4. It would be only fair that you split any moneys that you receive with those who contributed to firmware/theme/mods.
With that said.... I would do it for free for my friends in exchange of not beeing that support guy. I mean I'd help them and everything but I don't need calls in the middle of the night. Still, eventhough I would do it for free, I would require that my friends donate at least few bucks to whoever's work I would be using.
Good luck, I would love to see what actual devs have to say.
You should do it just for fun and without charging money.. this is why friends are called friends..
Charge them, then give 50% to the dev
In my experience even if you don't charge to root and what-not you will still become 24/7 tech support for them. I am the tech guy in my group of friends and I never charged a dime(unless I had to go buy hardware). Root their phones, send them here, make them read, also try explaining a few things and let them know where the friggin' search function is and they'll be fine, but if they decide to call you in the middle of the night needeing help, subtly hint that you're broke and could use some cash for beer

a very sad new to who knows MRX3NET ( HANON A. BELISKONI )

I'm mrx3net's brother who gave free unlock codes to many members here.
I have a very sad news to all , my brother is on the hospital from sunday morning because he is now a victime of THE SWIN FLU don't know how he got it but it's a real disaster to our family, his wife and his little son.
Doctors said ; there is no way to keep him alive just to pray if GOD want to send a miracle .
I ask every one here in this great community to pray for him to get well ( I hope so ).
he had few financial problems before and i come from Israel for this to solve it we had 3 houses here in Casablanca/Morocco and we wanted to sell all and this the only way to solve all his problem and back to Israel and live a normal life like all the family...
I started this thread just because i checked his email and see lots of people ask for codes to unlock mobiles and usb modems , we were working together on this when we was at the university but he left me and come to Morocco to start his own project, everythings went will tell this year.
i Will not talk like he is dead but it's really bad to know that my very close brother to my heart fighting the death alone and doctors can't do anything.!!!
PRAY FOR HIM TO GET WELL
I ask all don't care about his religion , yes we are jews but we like all our cousins Christians, Muslims.... he never hurt any one
Btw my name is Shemon ,If there is anything to do with him ? Contact me directly.
my email: [email protected]
Thank to Intan Comp unlockmodem he's friend to give me his username to post here.

Even thought I do not know MRX3NET.
I wish him a fast recovery and strength to his family.
Great initiative of yours to continue his work in the meantime.
Very sad news.
I'm really wish your brother to get well as soon as possible
My prayers and wishes are with your brother and your family.
thank you all for supporting us, it's very nice to see nice members like you!
I don't know how can thanks you and this great community
Any news about your brothers status?
I hope your brother will recover soon. I assume you have discussed with the doctors the possibility of hooking him up to an ECMO machine if things start to look bad. It's not for everyone, but it saves lives. I don't know if there is an ECMO machine near where he is. But it is something to discuss and keep in mind.
I wish the entire family all the best.
I mean no offense at all, but swine flu isnt deadly, unless your brother had pre existing health problems (aids, cancer, weakened immune system etc..).
Swine flu is just a normal flu. Only very young child or elderly people could be harmed by it.
I dont mean to offend anyone, but i m just curious about this story.
Anyway, best wishes in all cases.

For the vast majority of cases - yes, you are right. However, there are documented cases of people who were young, totally healthy with no previous history of illness, and yet they died from the swine flu. In other cases (many cases), it is so mild, that it goes unnoticed.
So, chances are very high that - if you get it - you'll be fine. A challenging aspect is that up until now there is no way of telling if you will be one of the few that is hit hard by it (I mean if you are otherwise totally healthy). That's why it's important to keep an eye on your symptoms, and at the first signs of a worsening condition, you should seek medical treatment. There are antiviral drugs available, but just because you get the swine flu does not mean you should go on those meds right away. You have to weigh it out with the possible side effects of the antiviral drugs compared to your particular swine flue condition.
And to keep things in perspective, the regular flu kills far more people every year. However, we can better predict who is at high risk in that case.
Anyway, this is an XDA forum, so I won't go into medical topics too in depth. I'll leave it at that.
I'm sorry but I have to agree with guigui42. I understand that your concerned that your brother has caught it, but it's nothing big anymore. When it first kicked up it was, but in some countries this is a pandemic - In england it has been widespread... I've had it, and several friends and family have had it.
It's horrible to have, but it's very rare to kill you. I doubt it even counts as a lucky escape not to die, and feel the original post was rather dramatised. I really do not mean to cause any offense, but no, I will not pray for one individual that has it, when there are countries full of people,
oh and guess what people, there are still far more worse things out there like the AIDS pandemic, cancer, and even sudden killers like heart attacks and strokes.
My sympathy is for anyone that finds out they are a victim of one of them.
Hi all
Doctors said that his healt is stable at this time and he will be Ok in few days i don't have more info because they don't help alot here in this country everything must be top secret i don't know why
in the same hospital there are 5 men with the swin flu virus but they don't tell anyone even on TV

Extreme antipiracy measures....

I have no idea where this topic should go so im putting it here.
Ill start off by saying this: I'm a fifteen year old kid with no money, and sometimes I pirate apps. This isn't about piracy like where should i go for it etc. Because i know that is against the rules. I don't have any way to buy apps or i would, im poor and i don't have a credit or debit card to use. So devs aren't losing money by me pirating. And i know its wrong and i shouldn't do it. Its just the only way to get things sometimes.
If you're still reading and haven't already reported me, here is my story.
Last night i was just messing with my phone, playing games and talking to friends. My phone randomly rebooted and started going into a bootloop of sorts; it would start up and i could get to the homescreen but it was almost unresponsive and i was getting a lot of force closes. I couldn't figure out the issue so i did a backup and a data wipe, planning to restore from TitaniumBackup.
That's when i figured out the problem. My sD card had been completely wiped, all 14 gigs of music, videos, important documents, pictures, apps, everything. It was all gone and replaced with 1037 pictures of a penis with a smiley face drawn on it, captioned "**** you mobilism stop stealing from droidfanz" which i have no idea who mobilism is or what droidfanz is.
I ran recuva on the card hoping to find my files somehow but it only found 3000 more of the pictures along with lots of random pictures of porn and concerts and people jumping off of houses onto mattresses.
I guess im mostly making this thread as 1. A shoutout to mobilism, droidfanz, whoever else caused this to say, you're an ass. Piracy is wrong but there are lots of things you could do that aren't going to destroy my life by deleting all of my personal documents. If i had the ability to buy your apps then i would.
2. A notice to other people... Don't pirate. At least be careful because some developers would rather destroy you than just make it so you can't use their app or something.
That's it. Ban me if you want, i figured i should at least get this out there to warn people. Im going to be trying to restore my life for the next few days anyways.

Good you deserved this. You stole apps from devs which is like taking there life. It only seems fitting that a dev returns the favor. Hope you learned. Also invest in a pre load debt card so you can legitimately purchase apps. Being broke is not an excuse for piracy and sure as hell wouldn't stand in court. Look at it this way .99 cents for an app or thousands in fees cause you got caught pirating.

Wow, that's crazy.
Mobilism and Droidfanz are, to the best of my knowledge, warez sites.
Sounds like maybe Droidfaz people are loading files that look like applications, but really are malicious files over to Mobilism in some sort of a war.
Those malicious files could have been further distributed to wherever you go the file from.
I dont agree with you ironlood.
Firstly, fighting fire with fire is not a solution. If someone is doing something wrong, it does not mean that you should do something worse. Revenge is only allowed if it is equal, not worse than the original offence.
Secondly, the OP does not even know if this happened due to a rogue application by a Dev or some hacker at Droidfanz try to get back at mobilism. Its interesting looks like two underground piracy outfits clashing. (I dont know what these sites are, but thats what it sounds like).
I'm not saying piracy is allowed, but lets just not be too anal not to allow extenuating circumstances (although I am not saying this particular case is).
OP, next time stick to free apps only. There is nothing you cant live without.
Wow. I certainly don't pirate apps because I'm a faithful Android fan and truly appreciate the work of the developers. We give them hardly anything for their work so the spare change you pay now and again is well worth it. Sometimes I donate even more after I buy their apps.
That being said, I don't want any chance of this happening to my phone because I downloaded a rogue app that made it to the market or was shared in the community. If someone does that to me, I'll sue them only because I can't physically beat the f*** out of them.
You shouldn't pirate though, bro. Pirate from big corporations like Microsoft as they inflate their prices and can afford it. Don't pirate from the college student who's starving and worse off than you!

Money for an Android mobile and a 16 GB SD card but no 99 Cent to buy an app? That's ridiculous.

This is true. You obviously could afford to buy apps if you wanted to, you just don't want to because you can get them for free.
Just for the sake of conversation.
Why is it ok to violate your TOS as well as abuse your carrier by getting around their bandwidth usage requirements and tethering options but piracy off applications is wrong?
Who decides what is right and wrong in this situation? The danger to android isn't merely fragmentation, it is the wild west nature of open source and whether developers will continue to contribute at such a rate knowing that there is no law or protection in place to keep their work as financially viable.
These are topics that android will have to deal with and sort whether it is by google or by the community coming to some sort of developer support agreement.
Really is neat watching an industry find its way. I just hope it doesn't get lost in the process.
thanks for sharing about your misfortunes and hopefully you learned from it! Best of luck!

That isn't ridiculous. More like my parents saved up to my me a phone as a birthday present, it was free with the special Christmas deal from US Cellular and it came with the card. Both the phone and card were actually free for my parents to buy and were a birthday present for me, we're just paying for the plan and I still have no money to buy apps.

I agree. All the people telling me I deserved it.... yeah you are probably right, I shouldn't have done it but you can't say I'm taking money from the dev because no matter what he isn't going to get money from me because I don't have any to give.
And I'm sure you've all stolen music or used a tethering app or something that isn't legal.

Get a job. You had this coming, as far as I'm concerned.
The whole penis thing might be a little extreme but i guess you deserved it.
What comes around goes around, you steal apps and now you lost everything. Being broke is not an excuse for being a douch-bag and stealing apps. I don't think telling a judge I was broke so I stole it would be a good defense. Not to mention you "stole" an item that is not something you need to live like stealing food not that that is ok either. I hope this was a lesson learned.
sageDIEU, fair play to you for openly telling your story.. you've probably learnt your lesson anyway now, although your reasons are more than dubious (still doesn't make it right in my opinion, just because I've not got the money now or ever to buy a ferrari, doesn't mean I can just go and pinch one)
The only issue I have, is that some developers expect you to pay for a product that has no decent demo. There's plenty of people producing crap apps for android and other OS's and expecting money for it. I've already paid for quite a few apps that have turned out to be a complete waste of money. I'd rather try an app (by whatever means) and then I'll gladly pay the developer for his work if it's a good product, if it's not, it doesn't stay on my phone and the developer won't get my dough.
Just about everyone uses a hacked app for whatever reason in their life. I don't judge anyone for doing so, but you should never ever keep important files on just 1 storage location. You can always lose/break it.
Learn from this!
Try searching for undelete/unformat software. Maybe you will be able to recover some of it. Good luck..

Corporations rob consumers, they're the only ones I would not feel bad about when it comes to pirating. I don't need commercial apps from huge corps most of the time though, outside of an OS. There are usually freeware versions which are better and have direct support from the developer. I'd rather have a free app with customizations and bug fixes from direct developer correspondence than a commercial app from a huge corp in most cases. Wouldn't you?
And **** off with the saint comment. I'm not elitist. I just think if a hard working Joe does a good job, I'd rather commend him instead of some money grubbing corporation. This is a tight community. And would you rather give a friend money or a stranger money? I'd rather give a friend money, any day of the week. Especially if they've developed an app that I use EVERY SINGLE DAY and only paid a dollar or two for!!!!
You guys are so ****ing cheap. End of story. I hope your phones get hacked. There's absolutely no reason to ***** about a dollar or two here and there for an app that you'll use day in, day out.
All of you people giving analogies of 'pirating' with 'stealing' do not know what an IP is. That analogy is WRONG.
Also, you really think rooting your phone and installing custom roms is not a violation?

Agreed, and I doubt you were punished by the developper you stole apps from.

This site is not for Crapple products. Try using Google to search or our sister site at http://iphone-developers.com/
There is lots of website available on the internet, just Google it. Pick the best site where you can resolve your problem.
@brookeaidan - Not to trole you or anything but I noticed a pattern forming of telling people to just google it. Though its a good suggestion to use google, I'm not saying write pages or something, just be a bit more helpful if your going to post help. Maybe post a link to a google search for them (not everyone is a wiz a google) because this is hard to get into (unlocking or hacking or rooting) the first time but once someone gets a win it's all good for the most part from there on.
I would suggest;
1. example Google search the following or to help resolve the questions in this here thread:
"Iphone"+"unlock" how to similar:xda
Or
"Iphone"+"unbrick" how to similar:iphone-developers
2. If you've got some knowledge to drop or experience to share its a good idea to post it so that the original poster can benefit and all future readers. For example:
When I had to unlock my first phone I first read up on the legalities, the how to(s) and then picked the best rout of action... at that time it was not illegal in the nation I resided and most of the how to(s) where way over my head (at that time) so I found that adding "solved" to the search queries pulled one up on "how to unlock your phone with help from service provider" in that guide it went over the steps of escalating a call without burning bridges and the legitimate reasons that you can give a service provider to assist you with unlocking a device.
Example of escalating the call
Service provider turns a request down
Respond something like
"That's ok <insert name> I won't waist your time further, can you please connect to your supervisor"
When supervisor answers, this is usually after the person you've just talked to has shared some words about you to their supervisor, so be polite but firm with the first person you talked to they'll likely also try to turn you down as well. Don't get impatient here, instead re-state your wishes completely, pause long enough that the supervisor can "grunt" that they've herd you but not long enough that they can interrupt you until you've finished everything that you need to say, if they do interrupt say something like
"I respect your time <insert name> and I need you to listen because this is very important <continue statement>"
When you're telling your story some things to keep in mind; don't lie, don't raze your voice (tention in the voice works far better), know that the first 2 or 3 people you talk to may not have the knowledge or the ability to do what you want so treat it like an adventure
Now for the reasons why a service provider might be cool enough to help you;
~ A family or business emergency, vacation, or trip is taking you out of your provider's coverage without incurring steep roaming charges wile your abroad.
This was the one that worked for me at least and was suggested by others. Make it sound like it could happen soon and let them know that you love your device and your service and don't want to have to leave them just to get a phone that'll work over seas because you love your phone (remember )... most people get it by then and are more apt to be on your side about connecting you to the department that handles unlocking.
So to recap
~ polite but firm and prepared to repeat yourself
~ request to be connected to the person(s) or department that can resolve your issue
~ use the persons name and the names of the persons to talked to before
~ treat it like an adventure
Doing so ensures
~ the person you are talking to is willing to help
~ prevents you from getting turned down and hung up on
~ let's them know that you will remember them, this is powerful when used correctly
~ by being up beet with company represinitives on the phone you can make them really eager to please. Note though; not to be to chatty or friendly as this will drag things out.
Some additional notes about unlocking devices:
I've unlocked many phones (no iphones yet) and two with the above method before doing it with guides and USB and programs or exploits on other devices. Both routs are tedious at times but if you take notes and are persistent you'll find a method that works in either rout.
In all companies the least secure and most flexibility/leverage can be found in the call centers, as a customer it's a good idea to know how to get your moneys worth out of 'em so perhaps look up social engineering (The Art of Deception was an entertaining read) or NLP (Darin Brown can be found on Youtube and it's good for a laugh too. Tools like that when used to get what you want as a customer can make life far quicker and easier even if your not out to exploit something but instead have a legitimate concern. I'm not saying that you should become some kind of mind master but instead take a look at the key concepts and apply them to actively construct a conversation that leads to your goal. After playing round with both ways of unlocking I can say getting a service provider to do it for you is kinda more fun, ya get to make peoples days a bit more interesting (such as when ya get a talker that then clams up because the realize that the conversation is recorded on their end and they've just said... something...) and not stare into a PC screen but instead kick your feet up and let them handle it.
If you go with option 1 and find a guide and unlock your device at home do be sure your not going to get stuck with some kind of fine for breaking a law and be sure to look up guides on how to unbrick and or recover from boot loop; bricks and boot loops happen, knowing how to solve it before it happens makes things so much quicker.
If you go with option 2 be sure to not cancel or suspend your contract or otherwise alter your contract (such as adding international roaming, they tried that one a few times on me, just said "no, thanks though" and moved on) because such things are not needed And if they suggest it then; let them know that you will make contact just before traveling and that "this" call is to ensure that the next rep you talk to has only those steps left to do and that "this" call is to get all the time and technical intensive things out of the way so that you and the next rep are not scrableing to get it done that day. They may suggest all sorts of other solutions, like a pre-paid phone, this is where you loving your phone or needing something on it for business to work comes into play. If one level of supervisor doesn't cut it go higher. And if you're transfered more than twice and had to repeat yourself more than that then on the next transfer ask to be directly connected or to have the person that is trasfering you to stay on the line to help explain why your being trasfered to the new person; this makes it so that you are using duble the resources of the company and most of them know it, so getting you quickly trasfered and the issue explained becomes a priority to the first person you talked to and the second person your about to talk to is being put at ease because someone from their company is explaining things to them before you do (prepping the target) these two forces combined cause you to become viewed as within their circle and leads to them wanting to work with you more rather than just push you down the line. Like I said though don't go lieing to your service provider but know that there are ligit reasons you may have to require your service provider do this.
As with all things you see on the web use at own risk
And happy hacking, whether it be on humans or what they make.

Sorry, but there isn't a lot of iPhone development on xda and sooner or later this thread is going to see some heavy anti-iPhone trolling. So thread closed, and please try a website that is specialized for iPhones....like this one: http://iphone-developers.com/

[CLOSED] Need advice and recommendations

So I am trying to find a free (hideable) phone activity monitoring app. I need to be able to hide it so it's not visible on the phone unless you really dig, I already know how to do that part. I preferably want it to save messages, app activity, pictures, phone calls, and social media activity.
My wife, soon to be ex wife, has been cheating on me and I need proof of adultery for the inevitable court case thats going to come once I serve her the papers so I can keep her from taking me for half or everything.
I don't mind paying like $5 to $10 a month but the only issue with that is she has access to bank statements and will see the charges and figure out what I am doing, I'm trying to keep that from happening, hence the need for it to be free.
Thank you in advance.
Oh yeah, she has an IPhone 13 Pro
And I am running a Samsung 21 Ultra
I'm beginning to see why you're having problems... no one likes a nosey Parker.
Yeah I know, I'm not the one hacking accounts and bringing people into our bed for me to come home and walk in on. I ain't be a nosey Parker, in reacting accordingly to the situation that I was forced into and now I'm covering my bases

XDA doesn't condone illegal activities. What you're asking to do violates federal and likely state laws in the USA and many other countries as well.
Putting a legal activity tracking app on my own personal property that was purchased by me, is in my name, and is paid for by me is not illegal, and was also adviced for me to do by my lawyer. But you are entitled to your own opinion sir, but I don't need your two cents on my personal situation. I asked a simple question, if you have helpful advice I'm willing to listen, otherwise I respectfully don't need to hear it.

Ask your lawyer to supply one. He seems to have the wherewithal.
There's no way for me or anyone here to determine the validity of your claims. Personally I think it's underhanded, unethical and illegal unless your wife is a minor.
Fair enough, I appreciate the help and banter, I look elsewhere for advice. Hell, Im pretty sure I won't find any worse treatment or un-warrented criticism elsewhere than I received from you good sir. I attempted to remove the thread but it doesn't see I have the ability, so you are more than welcome to step down from that high horse of yours to remove it yourself.
Even with the the uncalled for words and judgement I still hope you never have to experiance what I'm dealing with. But I do hope someday you learn how to talk to people with atleast a shred of common decency or respect.

It has nothing do with a lack of empathy on my part.
Five years in Federal prison is a long time. Mind you the other person you speak of is also a stranger to me as well. I'm neutral... but you're the one I -see- trying to step out of line.

Five years is a long time, regardless of institution or whether it's federal or state, that's still going to take a decent adjustment period. But you aren't being neutral, your throwing judgement, even just by saying I'm the one stepping out of line. You don't know any of the facts, how long it's been happening, what been done, the level of faithfulness and loyalty from each party, income from each party.....the list keeps going. So how can you say I'm the one stepping out of line? All your doing is making a judgment based off your own assumptions. I know the inside teaches men to think a certain way and act a certain way, but it also normally teaches most mutual respect is a 2 way street. That we should always start of with a level of respect towards the other, and if it isn't matched that's when you come with the un-needed rude, judgemental etiquette.
Atleast that's one of the things it taught me. Not to mention many others, another important being that your a grown man and entitled to your opinion and how you feel...I'm also a grown man, who isn't bothered by other people's opinions or how they view me, I also know I don't need to continue this, so I'm just going to end it by saying that if you really did do 5 years and you still talk to and treat people like this, it must have been a pretty cushy institution

Here's my retort for a cheap shot...
Electronic Communications Privacy Act
I was just returning the judgemental rudeness that you were so keen to begin with and continue to use towards me, only one person here to blame for my response.
That was a cute little click bait attempt you played there, smooth.
Except even though i have a S21 Ultra I run PureOS on it.
Debian OS is immune to most modern viruses whether they are android or iOS based because it runs as neither.
Like I said tho, good attempt. If this was ran on the typical software I would have had an issue.
MOD ACTION:
Thread closed at your request: "I attempted to remove the thread but it doesn't see I have the ability ...". Also because of Rule 9:
9. Don't get us into trouble.
Please use common sense: respect the forum, its users and those that write great code.
